So I read a few things and saw a social media post about this place. I had high expectations and was completely disappointed. Moseys is just hamburgers, fries, onion rings, and tacos when they have them. NO condiments except ketchup. There are no drinks to speak of except a bottle of water and a bottle of cream soda. THEY DO NOT HAVE MILKSHAKES! There is a sign that says "coming soon". When?......, they didn't seem to know. There are 2 small tables outside so if they are taken, good luck finding a place to sit down and eat. I thought I'd give it a try. I walked in and noticed that there were signs saying they were sold out on pretty much everything and I asked them if they had anything left. The guy behind the grill was pretty much a d!k and was rude. He said that they had regular hamburgers. I ordered the double, ($9.00, +$1 extra if you want lettuce or tomato), a half cup of fries, ($4.50), and an order of Onion rings, ($9.00). The smash burger is just "okay". Very little flavor. The fries and onion rings were Very small portions for the price. They were completely dark brown and tasted like dirty grease. It was not good. The over all experience was pretty bad. The vibe there sucked. We were pretty disappointed and will never go back. I DO NOT recommend this place as the food was not that good and the value is just not there. Their attitude sucks. I really hope they do NOT treat all the locals this way as we are the ones that support our hometown businesses year round. The burgers are very good smash-burgers. The onion rings look great but we only had the fries this time. Fried in tallow which is great! Seasoned with a BBQ flavored season salt. Only complaint - the cokes (bottled) were lukewarm which was a bummer especially at nearly $4 per. Service was great. Outdoor seating is mostly picnic tables with umbrellas. Morro Bay is one of those quiet beach towns that is popular with folks in the area who know where to go, if they don't want to end up in something too touristy. The town does have a nice collection of seafood joints, but I had enough fish for the week and was craving a burger. Asked my barista on what he would recommend- and he said that Moseys from Cayucos had a location here too. While the fam was having yogurt parfaits at a cafe nearby, I walked over to what looks like a shack on a vacant lot in the middle of town. The menu is simple and sticks to the basics - basic burger and fries. The choices are single, double or triple stacks, with or without cheese. They have some options on the type of beef - I just picked the regular. Went for a double with cheese - and it delivered on meeting that burger craving I was having. Cooked perfectly, salted right, smashed and served on a plain bun. Someone in the grill knows what they are doing. Now be careful - this will get messy, cause the burger is huge. Might just stop by here on my next trip down 101. Just wish Morro Bay was not that many miles off the main highway. They seem to have a fried chicken good truck too - wasn't open that day, but that may be interesting to try out too. read more

Moseys is maybe a 3.5 but it has potential. Service was quick but it depends on how many people come at once. We got lucky. This is a greasy spoon burger spot in a cool outdoor setting. The burger was good but not spectacular. The patty was WAY too thin and flat to offer much flavor. A dollar for lettuce and tomato!! Why it's not included? Who knows?! Lots of pickles though. The shoestring fries are nicely seasoned. Both fries and onion rings (6) were on the small side (both put in one small basket). This place is seriously awesome! Absolutely a must. Great quality, quick stop, and super solid burgers. They have flavor and add their own little twist to each item they make. It's right on the corner of Morro and Main, so it's super chill but right in the heart of downtown. The workers are also so sweet and helped us with any questions or things we needed. Staff is very helpful with ordering (some in line had never been there before and they took the time to assist without slowing the line down--huge plus); you never have to wait very long. The burgers are better than most you'll find in the area. Very good flavor, portion, price. The only pain point for me was the condiment station--dusty and overlooked. These items are used every day and should look it. Maybe someone accidentally used a blower cuz the dust looked kicked up. Otherwise loved it all! read more

The guy that handed me my burger, says that they didn't provide cups of water and I have to buy a bottle. I told him I was OK. I had my own bottle in my backpack. I just arrived there in a bicycle. After hearing about Moseys for months, and never having had a smash burger (yes, we're very late to the game), my husband and I knew where we had to go the minute we arrived in Morro Bay. I had very high expectations, and they were exceeded 1000 fold! We both got the Junior single patty, and loved the crispy edges (full disclosure, our dog loved them too!). The meat was so tender and flavorful, accented by cheddar cheese, pickles, grilled onions, and "special sauce." The brioche bun was fresh and so soft. Very simple, yet absolutely delicious. We split a small order of seasoned fries, which were also very tasty. Everyone was so welcoming. Now I know what all the hype is about, so repeat trips to Mosey's will be a must. read more

I wanted to like this place. I heard so many good things about the food. I asked if I should have a burger or a taco and the young man said the burger.. we're famous for the burger. He was confident and I was in. I admit I was taken back by the fact that tomato and lettuce are extra, but ok I'm cool with that. My order came up pretty fast and they were kinda busy. So off I go to enjoy this masterpiece...so dry...I ordered the double one slice of cheese was not enough to help slide the burger down. The onions are grilled not caramelized but still very dry. Secret sauce? Where? Still so very dry, not seasoned, plenty of beef but some salt and pepper would have really helped. I will try the taco and hope for a better showing. read more

Folks are nice, basic burger. Fries are shoe string type which I don't particularly care for and they were overcooked. It did the job for a Tuesday afternoon. And I think they will be successful in Morro bay however based on price and quality and since I live in the area it unlikely we will return unless we have family in town and they are looking for a burger read more
