These two locations are not to be confused with the other Pizza x Two locations located in Long Beach as they aren't operated by the same owners. Avila's Pizza is family owned and operated and I love to see how they continue to thrive within our local communities after all these years. My childhood consisted of family gatherings accompanied by a few fresh pies from Avila's. My family and I typically go to their Anaheim St. location as it's closer to my grandparents' house. However, I've visited their Lakewood location a handful of times and have been met with the same quality and consistency as their other store. On my most recent visit a few days ago, I decided to try something new and opted for their special pizza which is quite similar to a deluxe. To be blunt, skip any pizza's here with veggies because they aren't baked into the pizza and are served practically raw. However, all their other pizzas are nothing short of phenomenal. I HIGHLY recommend their classic pepperoni, their bacon pizza and their pepperoni and jalapeño. The breadsticks paired with marinara are also delicious. Avila's offers various carry-out and delivery specials. Their pizza runs more on the affordable side although the prices have slightly spiked over the years undoubtedly due to economic circumstances. Both locations serve more as grab n' go establishments due to a lack of seating and space. I've never had an issue with service at either locations, in fact, my family is very well received at the Anaheim location as we have been regulars throughout the years. I absolutely recommend Avila's Pizza and Avila's Pizza X Two to anyone! Support your local businesses! :)

The food came out rather quickly. The prices are OK. The place is a bit rundown though. One doesn't stay for the ambience. One gets his pizza and leaves.

Each slice is $3.75, or you can get two slices for $7.50 plus tax, so there's really no discount. I paid cash and noticed I was charged $7.99 for two slices instead of the advertised $7.50. I pointed it out to the man who took my order, but he insisted I wasn't overcharged. I even showed him the menu and the payment screen, where you could clearly see the discrepancy (see photos), but he was dismissive and said the register never makes mistakes. I had a long day at work and wasn't about to argue over less than a dollar. Still, it's the principle. Charging customers more than the posted price and refusing to acknowledge it is not okay. It made my experience very disappointing. As for the food, we ordered two pepperoni slices, one pepperoni and mushroom, and one ham and pineapple. The toppings were good, but this is definitely not New York-style pizza. The crust was overcooked and so dry that it was close to tasting like cardboard. I wouldn't recommend this place. If you do decide to eat here, pay close attention to the price you're charged and ask for a receipt.
