These two are the family favorites - Double Trouble (basically a meatlovers pizza) and TJ Panther (a spin on a Hawaiian Pizza with Jalapeño and other chilies!). We saw the pictures and we read the reviews and thought this place sounded amazing and it was a very close 10min walk to where we were staying. We ordered a half and half pizza online for pickup and spent over $30 for pizza and a 4oz container of ranch. They told us it would be about 20min when we ordered so we got ready and left. We got there probably 15min after we ordered and grabbed two cokes while we waited. I tried to pay with cash and was told he might not have change to give me. I said that was ok even though it's pretty lame that you don't keep change in your register. He happened to find a very large coin bag and made me change. We were sitting right at the front and you couldn't miss us. They asked us a few times what our name for the order was and we told them the same thing every time. Finally after about 10 min they asked us for the 3rd time what our name was and then walked away. We could hear someone say "the order for Kymmy didn't leave they are here" or something along those lines. We kind of just looked at each other. The guy that rang us up came over and said, "sorry something happened to your pizza it'll be another 20min or so". At this point we had already been waiting about 15 min for the pizza. So we said ok because we were starving. One of the employees asked us if we drank wine we said no we didn't and that's why we were drinking cokes. He said, "ohh, okayyyy..." and gave us a very judgmental look. Like sir, you don't know why we aren't drinking. We also kind of figured he wanted to give us a few beverage for the mix up. But that was the end of it. We heard someone say our name and we asked if ours was ready and one girl acted like we were being impatient while waiting. Like we didn't just wait over a half hour for food. Finally our pizza was done after a total of 40 min and there was very minimal apology for the delay. We took it back to our hotel and we were so excited it smelled so amazing and it looked so good. I cannot tell you how disappointed we were when we took our first few bites. It was not that great. We had ordered pepperoni and the veggie pizza. We ate half of it because we were starving and very quickly regretted it. New family pizza favorite with crispy pepperoni perfection. This has quickly become our new go-to pizza spot and has been consistently good every time we have gone. We ordered the pepperoni and OG Margherita, with half pepperoni and half sausage, and every bite was packed with flavor. Everything was really well balanced from the sauce to the cheese to the crust. The pepperoni was especially delicious with crispy edges and a nice crunch, and the pizza still felt light at the same time. The sausage was flavorful, and I loved how simple but well executed the margherita was. What keeps us coming back is the consistency. We have been here a couple of times now and it has not disappointed. It is one of those places the whole family gets excited about. The kids tear it up every time and it is a hit for everyone. Nice clean and spacious place. It's located on the corner of the strip. Parking can be a hassle since it's a small parking for more than 5 stores there. They just opens within 10mins so their weekend wasn't available per informed by the staff. I got 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 sausage/pepperoni for $26 which is not that at all. All their dough is sourdough so it's a twist but flavorful for sure. They do have other salads (which they are prepping), sandwiches, and desserts (not quite done yet) too but was there for the pizza. Easy order and got seated, they brought the pie out once down. Hubbie and I usually go to the Mexican restaurant at the little business center at the corner of Clark and Spring. But we decided to try Pizza Parlor LB for a change and it was definitely worth it. The service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and eager to answer questions. I loved the decor with the faux pallet booths. All their pizzas come with a sourdough crust. I think that makes the biggest difference so crunchy and delicious. Hubbie usually leaves the crust on the plate (he's not big on bread). He ate all his crust. We ordered the double trouble pizza, which is sausage and pepperoni. Typically we eat a couple slices and take the rest home. But it was so good. We ate the whole pizza. They have local craft beer in the can in a case next to the counter. I had the 714 blonde ale. Hubbie had a hoppy IPA I can't remember the name. They will give you a chilled glass. Came with my gf on Valentine's Day and we were the only people here. The woman who greeted us was very friendly, but that was the end of the positive experience for us. The food was okay... definitely nowhere near how it was described by others. But one of the employees/managers (not sure) was not singing, but screaming badly along to the music playing. Fine if you're in a kitchen away from guests, but this is 5 feet away. It felt like we upset him just by visiting the business. It felt like he wanted to make us leave... but why? Then when the food came, it was served in plastic to go containers with plastic utensils and the thinnest napkin. Fine, but not the dining in experience we expected. I found this place on Yelp and we were so glad we did. Wonderful pizza! Great crust and inventive types. We had the LA Taco (who knew birria pizza would not be my favorite?) and Jammy Bacon - so fully of flavor and a little zingy in your mouth. We also got some baked goods to go for breakfast tomorrow. So many more pizza varieties to try. We will be back! My only suggestion, add a few forks with the plates to help get the pizza out and a few for napkins because it is so gooey delicious! read more

Pizza Parlor is probably one of the best options for Pizza in the Long Beach Area. What makes it special is their sourdough crust. I'll be honest that I don't always love sourdough as the flavor can often be overpowering. What's nice about their sourdough crusts is that there is nice, airy honeycomb structure in the crust without having that dominating sour characteristic. On top of this, the flavors of their pizzas are interesting. In the past, I really enjoyed their Bacon Jammin, which has bacon, bacon jam, pickled red onion, and red sauce. It sounds odd, but it's a really tasty slice. This visit, I had their Authentica Papa, which had bechamel sauce, sausage, potato, rosemary, and hot honey. The sweet honey balanced out with the salty, spicy sausage, the herby rosemary, the starchy potato, and the garlicky sauce. The firm sourdough base gave a nice chewy crunch. My wife loved the spicy vodka sausage pizza, which had mozz, spicy sausage, basil, pickled red onions, and vodka sauce over the sourdough. Again - the sour pickled onions balanced perfectly with the sweet, tangy vodka sauce and the mildly spicy, salty sausage. The balance in flavors is a huge reason that these pizzas are special. The pizzas run for about $23-26, but the quality is high and I think that the pizzas at pizza parlor are truly a special addition to the LB community. read more

It took a very long time with hungry kids waiting. Finally came and the pineapple half was only cheese. We said that and without a word the guy quickly took it away. We, at that point were so hungry, we probably would have kept it if he'd just given us a side of pineapple. So 2 of my kids got to eat while the other that doesn't like meat on her pizza and her dad and I sat waiting. For like another 25 minutes. I went up finally to ask if we were ever getting our other pizza and they said it was being cut. I'm really kinda blown away that nothing was offered in way of an apology. We went with the TJ Panther and the Authentica Papa. Both were flavorful and creative, but the Authentica Papa was the winner for us, so unique and absolutely delicious. All the ingredients they use are fresh and each pizza is made to order (20 minutes). The staff is very friendly and efficient. I found them to be attentive to me and the other guests. The store is compact, but there are tables for indoor and outdoor dining. I took mine to go since I live close by. This is an excellent pizza and the pricing it quite reasonable. It's got the cupping that the internet loves so much, a crispy crunchy crust, and look at that hybrid leopard spotting. Mike described this to us as a mix between a New York pizza and a Neapolitan pizza. Classic thinner crust, with a lovely open crumb towards the edge. And did we mention? It's friggin' sourdough, you guys. This rivals some of the best crusts I've ever had. The acidity, the texture, the robustness, the everything! Of course I can't go on without mentioning the 2nd pizza we got! It's called the BTSC, and it comes with a bechamel sauce, sausage, purple sweet potato, pickled peppers, and green onions. The BALANCE was crazy. When you have a white sauce, it's hard to balance acidity, but the pickled peppers come through! Absolutely bonkers. This is for the people who like the weird stuff! The Food: I had two slices of pepperoni pizza, and they were fantastic.
