Found this little place as we were leaving Long Beach City College. It was super easy to get to and park. The cashier was very nice and patient and answered our questions. They have one pizza size or by the slice. The whole pie is large and the individual slices are big too. The pizza was so good. The crust was fluffy but not doughy. It's really small inside but does have some nice stool/counter searing options. Really enjoy the atmosphere, food and staff. There was a regular that came in and chatted as well. Great little neighborhood spot to enjoy a slice! Fresh ingredients, great dough amd the slices have that slight crisp on the bottom like they are supposed to! Everyone I've encountered here behind the counter has been friendly. There is usually a great mix of locals when I come here too. You can get a slice and a soda for $5.00, a slice and a pint for $10. They have other really affordable combos too. Come by amd see for yourself. Please note that this place seats abput 12 so if you are ordering multiple pizzas for the whole family you may want to get them to go. Plenty of free parking too which is nice. read more

Village Road Pizzeria is my local stop for a slice of a NY Style Pizza. It's no frills and I get what I want for a fair price. When I crave a hot, fresh-baked, nostalgic slice that reminds of my grade school days, this is my spot. I can get a slice of pizza and soda for a Lincoln and have a solid meal. Is it gourmet? No. I love getting my pizza with the pre-shredded mozz and the pool of cheese grease on the top. Its cheap. It's fast. It's good. If I can give 0 stars I would! I called to order dinner for family and the lady on line put me on hold. The line went quiet and then called back. I asked if I could place an order and she hesitated and said "ummmm sorry but we are not taking orders anymore". Terrible. Really nice little pizza spot tucked away over in Long Beach. Only one visit here this far but I was pleased with the experience. You eat with your eyes first and the looks are top notch. What an awesome local hangout here at the LBC. It's near Long Beach Airport and Long Beach College. The strip that this pizzeria is on, Norse Way, is cute, full of interesting shops, and free parking. You order at the counter placed in front of the front door. There is limited space, but the camaraderie filling up the place makes the ambiance cozy rather than cramped. The proprietor was quick to take orders and make our order... from scratch. So there is a short wait for a whole pizza (18 mins). Cheese pizza was fresh, cheese and yummy. Perfect proportion of sauce to cheese. Crust was great! Brews on tap. read more

This is my favorite pizza place. I don't know what it is about their pizza but it's so good. I want to say it has a lot to do with the crust which is how I judge my pizzas. They're not fancy by any means, just a small neighborhood pizza spot on a quaint little street. But they are consistently delicious. They're wings are great too. The absolute best thing is their ranch dressing for whatever reason. I actually buy a container of it every time I go to dip my pizza crust in. Note that parking in this street can be challenging during peak meal times and weekends. So it would help to bring someone who can run down and pick up food if you're not eating there. read more

I took my seat at the bar and was greeted by one of the employees. She was super nice and friendly. I saw a sign that had a $5 Wing Special. They were typical hot wings. I got mine medium. Tender bite, and slightly crisp once you get to knuckle of the drum. The pizza has a nice greasy pool, pepperoni has slight crisp. Crust was soft in the center, crispy at the end, had a nice bottom crust. Slight flop, but holds its integrity. The sausage could have been a bit more well done to get more flavor, but I prefer the pepperoni, since the sausage is crumbled. Very bar type ambiance. But it was pretty quiet. The weather channel was on. Barstool like seating. Cost about $12.13. Decent size parking lot, but it was slightly difficult to find parking. read more

It's really small. You can probably only get 10 people in there so you'll want to order to go. Wings are delicious here. I didn't get a picture because my boyfriend started digging in right away. He loves the wings and the really enjoys the extra hot Buffalo sauce they have. He only asks for it to be drizzled over not fully coated as to not overwhelm the wings with how hot the sauce is. The pizza was okay. It came out looking delicious but I wasn't a big fan once I started to eat it. I usually like a thicker crust. So this could be my own preference. Our pizza had also come out burnt. And that burnt taste was definitely taken over. I think we both ended up only eating a slice each from the large pizza we ordered. We ended up throwing the rest away. We come here for the wings though so we were not disappointed by that. And we'll definitely still come back to try the pizza too but hopefully we won't get a burnt pizza. read more

Really wanted to like this place as we are always searching for a good pizzeria in East Long Beach. Sad to say we still have not found one! They completely OVERCOOK and BURN everything! The Pizza: was just "OK" - The sausage is ground, we prefer nice chunks! They are very skimpy with their toppings! Only like maybe 2 or 3 mushrooms on each piece. It would maybe have been "good" if they didn't BURN the crust! See photos. The Village Roll (Meatball sub): TOTALLY BURNED BLACK! Not edible! Went in trash! It's been a while since I have had such a simple but delicious slice of pizza. The dough and crust were just right and held up nicely even after getting cold and even after being refrigerated; most get extremely chewy and don't take kindly to be warmed in the microwave. The bold taste of oregano really hit home for me I suppose. Reminded me of a family pizza shop that my cousins and I grew up having from time to time. I use to hoard large cheese pies from NYC in my carry on, but since we found Village road I now have space to pack other goodies I simply cannot find in Socal ( or as delicious as the NY version), It's the closest thing to NYC cheese pizza ( in taste and crust) I could find in SoCal. I came here before and got pizza by the slice but with about 3 toppings. It made the slice too heavy and sloppy so I decided not to do that again. Tthe next time I came my boyfriend thought it would be fun to try a few local pizza spots and see who's we liked best. We got one cheese and one pepperoni and let me tell you that is all you need. Perfectly crispy and soft crust with that cheese was soooo good. We've come a lot more times now and This place is by far our favorite pizza around us and even the cheapest (another winner).
