I'm sad to give the rating I'm giving, only because I was so excited to eat here based on the reviews I read before we made reservations. From the moment we walked in though, the staff catered to us so well, was super attentive, quick with orders, refills, taking plates out of the way--just superb service! That deserves at least 4 stars on its own, but the food took away from that. Let me start with the mangotini cocktail. It was tasty (smooth and strong)! The food...in our group of 6, consisted of the chicken alfredo, combination seafood alfredo, veal pasta, pesto pasta (I forget what kinds specifically), steak and mushrooms, and spaghetti and grilled chicken. Our alfredo had no flavor (insert cry face). The seafood tasted like they were blanched or added as an after-thought. Our pasta tasted like it was watered down and my son took 2 bites of his chicken alfredo and didn't want any more. It was disappointing. Everyone else ate a good amount of their food though, so I'll assume it was alright and they weren't all just hungry. I might give this place another try, but honestly for the price, I might just go to Olive Garden or make some at home. We'll see. read more

This is our go to restaurant particularly for holidays and special occasions. Most recently it's been a New years family tradition. We enjoy coming here especially to this location because the staff and manager here are top notch! They treat our 3 year old daughter well with it being a more fine dining experience. We love the peaceful ambiance and enjoy the pasta here. My mom loves the clams casino and I always enjoy the shrimp scampi with my husband and father usually ordering the seafood pastas. Wife and I had Valentines dinner here. Assaggio's may be the only restaurant in Kapolei that have white cloth tablecloths and cloth napkins, along with a rose on the table. I got a veal entree with melted mozzarella and sautéed mushrooms and assorted veggies. Wife got a special Jambulaya. For desert we shared a Tiramisu, washed down with a glass of Tuscany Merlot. We visit here 2 times a month on average. I like the way they cook their noodles. Tonight and the time before was average. The chicken very dry and a bit overcooked for both my wife and my Chicken Assagio for $34.90. The service and ambiance are great as usual. I love their house dressing for their tossed salad for $10.90 and my wife's Cesar Salad for $15.90. I think we will try another Assagio's to see how it compares. It's good, but at $120 each visit for spaghetti it drops to average. But in the past, many times it's been above average so I'm thinking it's the holiday rush or a new cook. read more

On Monday, 7/7/25, at 12:30p my friend and I stopped by for lunch, at Assagio's in Kapolei. The restaurant was busy and we were readily seated. We were served our water promptly and given our menus to order. We were also given complimentary bread and butter as we waited. We placed our orders and then settled in enjoying our warm bread with our cold butter. It was also nice that we were given another basket of bread and butter to have with our meal. Our luncheon came soon after. My friend and I both ordered the Carbonara dish. I chose to have my Carbonara with Fettuccine and she had hers with Linguine. The Bacon and ham pan-fried in olive oil, garlic, onions, mixed with egg and parmesan cheese, was perfect. The Carbonara was savory and rich. The silky sauce that coated the pasta, achieved with incorporating the eggs and cheese with the hot pasta without overcooking them was sublime. We both enjoyed our respective dishes. It was also a pre-birthday luncheon for me and it was so nice of our waiter to surprise me with a Spumoni ice cream with a candle. The Spumoni was nice and sweet with the candied fruit mixed in with the ice cream. We definitely enjoyed our luncheon and it was wonderful that our waiter packed up our leftovers for us to eat for dinner later. We will definitely be back to Assagio's to have Italian fare again in the near future. read more

This is my favorite Assaggio location on the island. It's not too big and the service is always good. The dining area is intimate and there is plenty of parking. The food here is always on point. I've tried many of their pastas and it's always full of flavor and super fresh! I also love their fresh baked bread and butter, it's super warm and soft every time. We did takeout and there was lots of leftovers! Food was delicious. I mentioned to the server that it was my first time trying the place and gave me recommendations. We had chicken alla saltimbocca, shrimp scampi, and veal alla marsala. All the foods items were seasoned well. They gave lots of pasta with the dishes to fill the take out containers. This is the go to place for my families's special event events, whether it is Mother's Day, Father's Day, birthdays, or wedding celebrations. We absolutely love the staff and the food and the ambience. Parking is a breeze with an ample sized lot out front and around the side. There is street parking just in case you can't find parking in the lot. Inside is always clean and comfortable, with clean restrooms, and comfy chairs. They have a decent wine selection and although I don't consider their food authentic Italian, it is very much American Italian. Everything is always delicious. Try their house red wine. read more

We stopped here for lunch before heading over to Aulani. As we arrived when they opened, we were seated and waited on quickly. I ordered the large veal saltimboca with vegetables and noodles. The portion of the large order was two pieces of veal meat with procuitto wrapped around it and cheese melted over. I gave my son a 1/2 a portion of the veal for his meal. We both enjoyed it. It was cooked excellent. Considering that I ate it all, I was worried that I would feel sluggish afterwards. Nope. It was just the right size. Service was attentive and friendly. Assagios has been around for as long as I can remember but I don't come here often enough. We first tried to come for our anniversary but made the mistake of not making a reservation thinking it was not going to be super busy. It is a fairly small restaurant and they don't open super late. We learned from our mistake and came the following week. I used to always order the shrimp scampi but my more recent favorite is the chicken and shrimp pesto pasta. It is so creamy and yummy. My husband always orders the lasagna which he devours every time. They serve you as much warm bread as you want and the servers are always on top of their game. We had six people who each had an entree ands we had 2 appetizers to share. $183. None of the people were happy with their dish and the appetizers were not very tasty. Everything was just Okay. But, there are plenty of choices in Hawaii for much better tasting foods for the same price. I think they must be taking shortcuts in the kitchen in order to have competitive prices. Date night with hubby! Saturday night (July 26,2025 @5:00pm) The restaurant opens at 4:30pm and at that time we were the third table seated. We began our meal with the appetizer "Home Made Hot Antipasto" it is described as Mixed Seafood in Garlic, Spicy Cayenne and Paprika with White Wine Butter Sauce. I would definitely get this again and again. My suggestion would be to dip the warm bread they bring to the table in the white wine butter sauce. Hubby and I shared the classic Caesar salad. Crisp and fresh! Hubby had the "Shrimp Alla Francese", it is described as, Pan Fried Breaded Jumbo Shrimp in Egg Batter, Garlic, Lemon, and a White Wine Butter Sauce. LOVED IT! I enjoyed (but didn't finish it) the Lasagna. Perfect flavors, ample meat and onions. It is described as, Hearty Tomato Meat Sauce with Ricotta Cheese and Melted Mozzarella. The melted mozzarella was the lovely! I thought about enjoying a glass of wine but we skipped it this time and I just had an iced tea. I love the Fresh Clams Scampi, ooooh the garlic butter just so garlicky and you can taste the wine. What they do best is you ain't gonna taste no sand or shell bits from the clams. Small or Large portions are plenty. Service is on point. Their hospitality will never be comparable to other places outside of California. When we arrived at the Kapolei location we were greeted with such an inviting set of people. We were seated quickly at 5:30 on a Wednesday night. For 6 people, we were seated in the back corner which allowed us to feel like we almost had a private space to celebrate my husband's big birthday. He and I ordered 2 cocktails each - lycheetini and the mangotini - filled to the very edge of the glass. Good thing the bread kept coming. We each had large orders of our food and enjoyed much of them and had leftovers. I got the linguini broccoli olio, my favorite. We had the antipasto salad to share. Then I got a tiramisu. I was so satisfied. I actually prefer this location over the others I've been to. The servers were constantly asking if we needed anything else. Our go to Italian place in Kapolei. Close to home and food is always satisfying! Lots of parking in their parking lot which they share with a Pho restaurant next door. Staff is always friendly and attentive. The restaurant looks fancy with the white table cloths and staff dressed in black and white. But you can come in dressed nice, casual. Their portions are huge and you have the option to order a half order. My husband and I always order the same thing every time we go. We each get their house salad which has crispy, chilled romaine lettuce, pickled vegetables (carrot, peppers, celery) with cubes of a white cheese, olives, tomatoes and a pepperoncini with a great dressing, it's like a creamy Italian dressing. We then get the full order of Chicken Anchovy Olio and split it (they will split it on to 2 separate plates for you) if you're a garlic lover like we are this is the dish for you. So much chopped and sautéed garlic over crispy pan fried chicken thighs over a bed of linguine noodles. You can't taste the anchovies (no fishy taste), it is absolutely YUM! We also sometimes request to add broccoli or asparagus. You also get crusty outside, soft inside loaf of bread and can request another loaf if you want more with butter on the side. If we have room, which we normally don't, they have desserts like Cannolis, Tiramisu, Gelato and the last time we went they had a Peanut Butter Cheesecake which was delicious! We made reservations at 630 on Wednesday night and the dinner crowd was slowly coming in so service was kind of all over the place. It took a while to get our drinks ordered, so when they came we immediately shot off what we wanted for appetizers. We usually get the eggplant rollatini but they were out of eggplant and I'm so happy they were since we ended up choosing the hot carpaccio. It's slightly torched thin slices of filet mignon with lettuce in a mushroom butter sauce. It was about $23.90 and super good especially with the hot bread to dip in that butter sauce! The deep fried calamari was fantastic and fresh, and my husband who doesn't even eat seafood ate it. Only thing was that the marinara seemed a bit watery tonight...not hearty like we remembered. This dish was $13.90. Hubby ordered the large filet mignon with potatoes entree and it had mushrooms and onions on top. I don't know what they do to the potatoes but they taste amazing especially with a touch of fresh Parmesan cheese on them. The steak was seasoned all the way through and tender, but everything and anything is always made better with butter and worth the $43.90...if you want the smaller portion it's $8 cheaper. I ordered one of the chefs special, the shrimp and chicken picante over linguine and substituted the sauce with arrabbiata sauce for $35.90. It's pan fried seasoned chicken thighs and three large pieces of shrimp. They finish the dish with their spicy garlic bread crumbs and fresh Parmesan. This dish is another one of my go-tos here and if I had one complaint tonight was that there was too much bacon in the sauce. I know, who complains about that, but it overpowers the other tastes being so salty and smoky was all. The restaurant is always so clean and is a great date night spot. The lighting is dim enough to make it feel intimate but not to the point that you can't see what you're eating at like some other restaurants we've been to. I think we came on an off night though, cause the service just wasn't what we're used to over there, but then again they were just getting ramped up for dinner service so we gave them a pass. read more

The food and service are top notch for what it is - Oahu Italian food with a Chinese "influence." IYKYK... Most of these restaurants have very similar recipes but Assaggios Kapolei rarely disappoints on execution. Their Caesar salad is easily the best in the world to me but that really depends on one's taste - I require loads of garlic and raw egg yolks at a minimum or it's not Caesar. One star off for decor that's becoming dated - but most of these places look like they were remodeled in the very late 90s to mid 00s. read more

We have been a long time customer at this Kapolei location until we moved to town. However, when we are in the area, we love to visit this location. Assagio has been one of our go to Italian food restaurant and the qualities is always consistent. The wait staffs are always nice and friendly. Even after all these years the restaurant at this location still look very nice inside. Antipasto cold appetizer is one of the items we always order, also the clam casino spaghetti is my favorite. The size of the clam is always big, however, during this visit, the clam size a little bit small. We also love the fresh baked bread, the bread always come out hot from the oven. Random date night and was feeling Italian! Although Olive Garden is literally 5 minutes away this place had always caught my attention. Just the name. Sounds so fancy right? So we thought . Yup. Let's go! Ambiance: Dark & Fancy. All of the servers are dressed in button downs with fancy aprons and such. I'd recommend dressing semi casual here or you'll feel underdressed. Food: Garlic Bread: Toasted & Crunchy. Get cheese in top but didn't taste much Garlic. Chicken & Shrimp Pesto: 10 out of 10 recommend. It comes with sun dried tomatoes which I didn't like that much but the sauce has a rich and deep flavor. The portion of pasta and shrimp was very generous and the pasta was cooked just right. Veal Piccata: A different variation from having chicken piccata. If you aren't in the mood for chicken you can grab this. What I loved was the sauce and the abundance of capers! Portion was generous as well. Hot Carpaccio: To our surprise this was super good! The sautéed mushrooms and fresh lettuce compliment the beef well. Tbh would have went well with rice! Service: Waters always full is perfect service to me. The food didn't take long and the waiter was very attentive. Overall: Not sure why anyone would rate this place any lower. I ordered Chicken Alla Marsala for takeout as I was craving it all day and I wanted to support local instead of going to a national chain. The staff was friendly and food was ready when I arrived. The bread was soft and fresh. However, the entree had almost no sauce. There was no flavor to anything besides whatever oil they sautéed it in, which I could see sitting on top of the minuscule amount of sauce that was underneath it all. It's a little smaller than some of the other Assaggio locations, so it feels cozy. They keep the see through shades drawn so it's not too bright in the daylight. House dressing is very good! However, the cooks forgot the spice & chili flakes on our chicken and shrimp "picante" that it should have come with. There was no taste in spice at all. On the menu it shows two chili's next to it to describe it's spice. We didn't mention anything to waitress & waiter as we know it's not their fault so we just asked for chili flakes and added some spice ourselves. We also had the clam casino. I'd recommend to order it with extra sauce or clam sauce. It's pretty bland without the extra sauce. A good Italian dish should come with enough sauce to where you don't have to pay extra for more.
