I'm a fan of this new Downtown Houston cocktail bar. Not only can you get a quality drink in a vintage-looking ambiance - but the staff is downright attentive and friendly. They have an assortment of craft cocktails - and $6 wines on tap. I wasn't a fan of the single white they had available, but you kinda can't beat that price for downtown. There's a lofted area with a lot of couch seating. This is is a great spot for dates or groups. They tend to fill up to capacity quickly, so don't get there too late in the evening. They don't have any snacks or bar food, but I did see a small party bring in pizzas from nearby, so that's obvi allowed. read more

This place is pretty swanky, yo! I didn't even know that this place existed until I went with a friend who was celebrating her friend's birthday here. We arrived around 10 pm on a Saturday and there wasn't any line or issues to get in. A lot of people were dressed nice, but I was in my typical shirt, jeans, and leather sneakers. As the night went on, the place became packed but I didn't have any issues trying to get drinks from the bar. The bartenders were on top of their games! I was drinking Main & Co all night, which was a mix of whiskey, tequila, and some other stuff they put in there. It was delicious and definitely packed a punch. For $12, it was worth it. To me, this place has the potential to be the starting point of a good night out. Get some drinks and look at some beautiful people before I become a sloppy drunk. What a hidden gem! I don't get to lower downtown too often and can't keep up with all the places. I went to a post-event happy hour at Lily & Bloom and wasn't sure what to expect. It was a very cute, historical/antique looking - yet upscale - cozy bar with a second level balcony. Kind of a speakeasy vibe. The drinks were all craft cocktails (plus I think wine and beer) and the drink menu was very impressive. No one in our group could decide so thankfully the bartenders all made excellent recommendations. I loved my Pina Reliever. I was a little like an non-sweet pina colada, but very sophisticated and had a definite kick. Service was very thorough and professional, but the drinks do take a little while to make and garnish. It was that was across the board with all of the cocktails. We were there on an off night (Sunday) so there was street parking available and the area was fairly quiet. I'm sure they are crowded on weekends and perhaps during weekday happy hours. Only somewhat negative was that they don't have any snacks at all. A group of Yelpers and I came in on Friday after the Decades Dance Event at the new Etro next door. The space is quaint with seating areas and the bar. The DJ played really good hip hop music because he had the girls dancing half the night. There was a nice mixed crowd in there who all seemed pretty chill. We were probably the most rowdiest since we had been drinking at Etro before coming over! I would definitely come back with some friends again for drinks and some good music! read more

Came across this place for Happy Hour and while visiting Houston. I would go again. Drinks were great. This is the breath of fresh air that Main Street needs. Think a bigger, less crowded, classier commoner (but no dancing unfortunately at the moment). Classy cocktail list. Big comfy leather couches. Hip hop playing on a Friday. No one pushing. A border line lounge atmosphere, so you'll see anything from girls dressed to the nines to guys in shorts. I'll definitely be back. read more

Very chic and classy cocktail bar geared towards your late 20's and up crowd. Be prepared to pay $9 and up for a cocktail. They have a lot of seating areas with couches and lounge chairs for groups of 4-6 which is nice. I don't think they'd deny you entrance wearing jeans, but be a darling and put on your grown man pants. read more

A cool bar located at the end of night club row. They've got a bunch of comfortable couches and lounge chairs. An impressive selection of spirits and beers. The bartender 'Danger' (how could you forget a name like that?) was super friendly and helpful in telling us more about downtown and where (and where not) to go. We ended up here at the last minute when the Bar we planned to visit on our Date Night was super packed & required Reservations, LOL. I loved the rustic interior, the original brick walls & the Chandeliers. They have an upstairs Loft area with a big TV so Hubby could catch the Playoff Game. It has an eclectic, vibe with a mash up of furniture but it works. Drinks were poured nicely.They didn't have his preferred Scotch but he was able to find something he enjoyed. Let me just say, this is a very popular bar and a lot of people crowd into the little space they have. I think if your in your 20s you probably will not mind standing in an endless line trying to get drinks. Looks to me like you would have a good chance meeting someone here. Lots of single people here but, this place is no stranger to couples either. If I was 25 and looking to hook up I would probably go to this bar often. Since I'm 41 and not trying to do any hook ups this isn't the place for me. Just too crowded. I hate having to wait in a sea of people to get a drink. The one drink I did have was excellent. Crown Coke was so good. They did have excellent bar staff. Just didn't want to wait to get another one. Great bar for the young crowd in my opinion. read more

Did you know that if you went past Hotel Icon, there are three more bars? I had no idea. Absolutely none. But I'm glad I decided to drop by Lilly & Bloom, because the cocktails are delicious and creative. I had the Pina reliever - rum, fresh pinapple, lime, coconut, and orange bitters- so refreshing and fruity, but not overpowering in the least. It was a great tiki drink . I had the rum runner next - it was a little more boozy than the pina reliever, but I enjoyed it a lot. The bartenders/owner were friendly and there is plenty of space to sit or stand. The bar itself is beautifully put together and there was an elegant/hipster/vintage feel to the entire space. There are also several TVs for the sports fans, including a lofted area with couches and a flat screen tv. Walk a little further from your usual path and who knows what you'll find. :) read more

My favorite bar in downtown! You definitely feel the historic Houston vibe inside and the craft cocktail menu is fantastic! They bring in great local DJs regularly so each night has a slightly different format and stays fresh. You can get on the floor and dance with your friends or sit back and relax on an antique couch. Great cocktail bar! My friends and I came here for our monthly girls night one Friday night. We came for happy hour and stayed until 10. Their green tea shot was hands down the best shot I have ever had! Plus, the bartenders were super friendly and the atmosphere of the bar is great. We were able to get tacos from down the street and eat them at the bar with our cocktails before it got crazy. We will definitely be returning! read more

Myself, Husband, and a couple of friends showed up here about 8:30 PM on a Friday. The place wasn't packed at all. We seated ourselves at the bar, checked out the menu and tried to figure out what we wanted. The male bartender that helped us out was the most unpleasant person ever. You would think because it was so slow he'd be friendly, helpful, talk about the menu a bit, maybe even bring up a thing or two about the bar. Nope. Just wanted to get our drink orders over with and then carry on with his evening. After this we placed our super basic drink orders and then seated ourself away from the bar. Super cool looking place, would love to visit again but with such crappy service we'll go elsewhere. Lots of places on Main at least. read more

I give it two stars because the space is beautiful and the cocktail list is unique. Went in last night and ordered a cocktail for hubs and a glass of wine for me. Bartender couldn't find the $20 half bottle of cote du Rhone I ordered and yelled out "who orders wine here?" As if her unfamiliarity with the menu was somehow my fault. I ended up with about a half glass of some other kind of wine. I don't need to spend that kind of money with a bunch of judgey millennials. Will not be back. read more

I always love going to Lilly & Bloom. They have a pretty good selection from wines to scotch to hard alcohol. The staff here is extremely knowledgeable and always happy to answer questions or help me pick the perfect bottles. They are able to offer fair and reasonable pricing on their alcohol. I will definitely be a loyal customer, probably regardless of where I am. read more

Lovely cocktail bar in the downtown Houston area! The cocktail drinks are made pretty well here. If you need a safe recommendation for a solid sweet tasting drink, get the Lady Montenegro. Cocktails are at an average price of $9-12. Apparently this place is fairly new but I see them doing very well. I love the setup and look of the place and even the house music they were playing was nice. Come for $6 cocktails during happy hour 5-8pm read more

For my last call, he recommended the Left Hand ($13) with Bourbon, Campari, Sweet Vermouth and Chocolate Bitters. Again, fantastic. Both nights, the bartenders and drinks were fantastic. She then text our friends group and said we all had to come together and we did just that. She made reservations in advance as this place is popular thanks to recent Michelin Bib Gourmand awards as well as many other accolades. Walk ins are welcome as well. Our reservation was later in the evening so after a night of bar hopping, we ride shared in which I think is one of the best options as parking is limited here or you have to find street parking in the neighborhood. This place is literally a house turned into a restaurant. Inside is just multiple rooms with a couple of tables. It makes for a unique, intimate dining experience, perfect for a date night. In our case, we were a group of nine so we got patio seating. The patio is spacious and well kept, and if the weather cooperates, a great place to hang. One thing that really stood out to me is the amazing ambience of this place. I was told that the bartenders pick the music for the night from the owners extensive vinyl collection. Once the album is in, they play it in it's entirety. The sound system was systeming and on top of the great company and food, we were totally vibing with the music. Customer service was amazing. Every staff member we came across was so friendly, especially our server. The menu here changes. There are some mainstays, but they like to change things up. Their website shows current menus daily. We were told that family style is the best way to experience this restaurant. I am one of those people that will always listen to the staff and go with their suggestions. Our group went through quite a bit of their menu from apps, entrees and desserts. I loved that our server and staff brought our food out one by one in what they thought was the best progression so we could take a culinary journey. We started off light with their popular Dilly Bread. Best bread I've had in awhile. Next was the Texas Tartare. It was my first ever tartare and it was delicious. We then moved on to Fingerlingin Good which was a crispy potato dish with chili crisp and mascarpone. It was potatoes elevated to the highest level and so so good. Next up was Beer Battered Sweet Tots. I didn't think sweet potatoes could be that good. Our first entree was a vegan dish called the Carroty Kid. I could seriously become a vegan if all dishes tasted like this. It was curried. A bowl of jasmine rice would've made it a complete meal. Next we tried another famous Nobie's dish called Nonno's Pasta. Handmade, perfectly cooked tagliatelle with a delicious bolognese. I wouldn't share this next time. Ok, I will, but it was that good. On to the heavier dishes. First up was the Jamon With Your Bad Self. This came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. It was favorite heavy entree. It was high quality, iberico pork steak with shaved brussels and all kinds of other tasty ingredients that when combined made such a tasty bite. We then went to the sea with the Drops of Grouperter. It was good, but not something I would order again. It was a little too smoky for my liking. Our biggest dish that came market priced was the Kick His Ass Seabass. This was a whole fish that was presented beautifully on a platter with all the accouterments to make your own elevated fish tacos. We left no morsel of fish behind. It was absolutely delicious. One of the things this place is really known for is their pies. This was the part I was most excited about. Just like their menu, their pies change up. We got all their offerings that night which they presented on one big platter of goodness. Their main stay and I believe always on the menu is the famous Olive Oil Cake. It's not a pie, but I can see why this is such a popular dessert. I can't even describe it, you just have to try it to understand. The pies we had were the Black Bottom Strawberry Pie, Banana Rum, and the Peanut Butter Pie. I would order all of them again. We all had a difference of opinion on which was the best, but my fave was the Banana Rum. Overall, I was highly impressed with this place and kind of mad at myself for waiting so long to make it here. It had made it's way to the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Houston. I will be back.

They were acting like the geekers that come bother you just outside your favorite fried chicken joint in south Dallas! Our waitress brought out a table fan so that made the experience a little more tolerable. The chocolate peanut butter pie tasted like a salt rock and the lemon chiffon pie had great flavor but not lemony enough for me. All in all this place is a bit pricey but truly a gem!
