    Spicy level Scoville scale

This place was hard-to-find, but worth the line and adventure getting there inside the Nashville Farmer's Market. I wanted authentic Southern hot fried chicken and Lilly's was perfect. Chicken Tenders were rich, juicy, and tender. The sweet iced tea and homemade ranch were just the icing on the cake! You need it all. Service is good. Eat outside. The line moves fairly quickly--don't be deterred by it.

Lilly's Hot Chicken is a vendor inside the Nashville Farmer's Market. Came here on a Saturday midday and there were lots of people waiting for their order. I ordered a leg quarter at the spicy heat level. It came out in 15 or so minutes which isn't too bad. There are a lot of places to sit inside the marketplace where all the food vendors are so I grabbed a table. The leg quarter was crispy, juicy, and flavorful. It came with a couple of pickle slices and a slice of bread. Definitely solid hot chicken. The spicy level was good for "spicy". It had a kick but wasn't too spicy. Overall, rating Lilly's Hot Chicken a 4/5 (but 5/5 for the chicken). The chicken was very good. Service was quick considering the number of people waiting for their orders. The space is near an exit/entrance to the Nashville Farmer's Market and some restrooms, so it can be tough to find standing room if there is a long line or a lot of people waiting. Would recommend to anyone looking for hot chicken. Would come back when in the area and hope to try some sides next time.

We had a pleasant time trying these tenders at the Nashville Farmers Market. Not long of a wait (6-7 min) for fresh hot food. I enjoyed the seasoning on the chicken it was spicy but not overwhelming with a hint of sweet. The tenders were huge and they give a decent serving of fries with a pice of toast. Overall solid meal

Service was a little disjointed right at opening time, but the chicken and the heat level was on point. The is inside the farmers market in Nashville. When I first approached (right after opening), I was told that they weren't ready to take orders yet because the other workers hadn't arrived yet. So I came back some minutes later, of course to find that other others had been taken and now I had to wait. But worth he wait it was! The chicken was soft and fall off the bone. The hot level was indeed hot. Thank goodness one of my kids had ice cream. I had to cool that off. But I asked for that level and I got it. Good on Lilly's for that.

We love the Nashville farmers market and food hall. We stop in every time we're in Nashville so we can sample different types of food from bbq to Jamaican. We stumbled on Lillys Hot Chicken and decided to try the very hot chicken with a side of friend okra and green tomatoes. What a great meal! The chicken was delicious. So moist and tender inside and crunchy with a lot of spice on the outside. The pickles helped cut the spice a bit, but it was HOT! The fried green tomatoes and okra were delicious. They were cooked well and had a tasty coating. Everything was made to order, so it took a bit to get our food, but it was 100% worth the wait!

As someone who was team Hattie B's, Lilly's Hot Chicken is my new favorite spot. We were trying to figure out lunch when we got into town and settled on seeing what the Farmer's Market had. This way, I could get my hot chicken fix, and my wife had options. With Lilly's being cooked to order, I opted for the tenders at the Spicy level. This was definitely hotter than I expected, and I'll probably go Mild next time. The chicken was juicy and had great flavor. The staff was great. Hands down the best Hot Chicken in town.

Pretty solid chicken - but the wait was long and the location was inconvenient to wait at.

I stumbled across this place after seeing it mentioned on a Facebook food group. I told my coworkers about it because we work near the farmer's market and one of them loves hot chicken. Apparently they knew about it and said there was even a commercial about it on the local TV stations. We ventured to the farmer's market and I swear I never knew it was there. It's at the end of one of the quadrants, right by the exit doors. I don't remember which one but there's a cookie place right in front of it. I never ventured that far and when I asked how long they've been there, one of the workers said May. Six months went by and I didn't know a hot chicken restaurant was down the street? I ordered the chicken tenders with turnip greens. I initially ordered the chicken mild but I got convinced to order it as "Mix The Heat", which is their Spicy (level 2) and Sweet Heat Dry rub combined. I didn't know it was their level 2 until I took my first bite. The chicken was made fresh, it came out piping hot and moist. The meat itself was a little bland but the spices were good. Unfortunately it was too hot for me. You see I love hot chicken but at my age, spicy food doesn't sit well with me. I mean it is delicious going in my mouth but then I pay for it hours later. My coworker usually gets his chicken pretty hot (usually hotter than me) and he said their level 2 was a bit spicier than he would have liked. It made it not very enjoyable. I however powered through and ate it all. Beads of sweat rolled down my face but I finished it all. The turnip greens were ok. Although they had chunks of meat in them, they needed a bit more seasoning. Everything here is a la carte. So with what you see in my pics + a bottled Coke, it was over 20$. It was a hit pricey for the quantity of food. I can get a lot more food at Big Shake's down at North Capitol, which is another 4 minutes down the road.

Wow Lily's is no joke, the heat from their hot chicken had me sweating. The server kindly let me place an order with a mix of spicy and hot dam (I was too scared to commit to a whole portion of hot dam but wanted to try it). The sweet honey mustard definitely helped cut through some of the heat but it was very very spicy. I got a side of fried okra with my order and I thought it was tasty - not slimy at all. If you're craving hot chicken, Lily's is a great spot.

Really delicious hot chicken. I am not the best with spice so I ordered a mild and enjoyed the flavor and juiciness of chicken and the crisp skin. My sister like spicy and got the one level hotter we wished there was a level in between the mild and level above it! The Mac and cheese and beans and sides were all generous and delicious. Located in the farmers market which was very convenient and can sit in the seating area nearby.

Super kind people who helped us order a yummy sample of the spices on our chicken tenders- which were seriously soooo yummy! Great chicken!!

Leg quarter, spicy (level 3 of 5)
    K W.

Hot chicken, it's good. I like mine with the bone in for better flavor. It takes a few extra minutes fried to order, but it's worth it. The leg quarter was huge: drumstick, thigh, and the oyster intact. Cooked well: crispy all around, hot all the way through so the tendon bits were all edible, but no dry tough spots. Perfect. Went for "Spicy" (level 3 of 5 at Lilly's). They've got "Hot Dam" and "Fear Da Reaper" above it, but I figured I wanted to taste the chicken. Definitely made a safe choice here. As someone who likes hot food, it was spicy with a hint of pain that dissipated in a minute or so. Definitely hot enough where you shouldn't touch anything sensitive for a while, but nothing in the realm of uncontrollable pain, where each bite after the first hurts and you end up doubled over, open-mouthed drooling on the floor to keep the burn from going into your body. I'd trust that one of the next levels should get you there.

My favorite heat level is hot damn! The leg quarter is what I order the most. The catfish is good. Friendly and professional service.

My friends ordered a side of BBQ sauce that was like a creamy BBQ sauce. It tasted pretty good, but a bit of an odd combo with the wings. The sides were really good. Out of the ones I tasted, I would order them: Pimento Mac & Cheese - cheesy goodness, pasta on the softer side, but still acceptable Black Eyed Pea Salad - a nice refreshing take on beans with a good hit of vinegar. Pairs well with fried chicken Cole Slaw - a pretty standard, but solid slaw Bacon Cheddar Grits - very cheesy, a little thinner than I was expecting Hattie B's knows what they're doing and are cranking out good food. Love the food and I think it's reasonably priced.

Four fried phyllo dough rolls with chicken (wish this was 6 since the feast was for 6). The others were different dipping sauces to eat with pita bread. Everything was good but our favorites were Humus (hummus) and Alinazik. The Alinazik was creamy, smoky, with a mild taste eggplant in it. That was followed by the Haydari (yogurt with dill and mint). Wasn't quite sure what to think of Ezme which had walnuts and was tart and fruity. Definitely interesting and worth trying, but we wound up only eating about half of that one. The soups (6) - A choice between 2 - Mercimek (lentil soup) almost tasted like a split pea soup - (solid. Chicken soup tasted like cream of chicken with bigger pieces of chicken - ok. Salad was ok. It was like a house salad with a slight drizzle of creamy dressing. The dressing was purple (maybe from pomegranate). The main show was the entree. A massive mountain of saffron rice topped with various grilled meats and vegetables. My favorites were the chicken wings and the ground chicken kebabs. I didn't particularly care for the pearl onions since they were on the grill too long (burnt with acrid flavor). Dessert was 6 pieces of baklava. A pretty good version of it. Very sweet from chocolate sauce, not very crispy. The walls are covered in chicken related decor featuring chicken puns. If you like dad jokes, this will be a positive. The feast at Only Chicken is truly a feast. I love the amount of variety they're able to get with just one protein and the grill. Fun and memorable experience.
