My daughter was doing GelX nails, they cut her and did not let me know until we walked out of the store. The job that was done was no good. Her nails that were done in white are so messy! The woman tried to explain that its because she got white nails she couldn't do a better job. Which was very irrelevant. I cared less about the way that the nails looked, and more about the fact that she cut her using the equipment with unclear info on how the equipment was cleaned! They did not offer me any discounts or any money back. In addition to this, the place smells bad inside. Don't waste your time. read more

PHENOMENAL service. The entire staff was super friendly and very professional (bonus points that they had EVERY acrylic powder shade you could think of!). I went in for an acrylic set removal and let with my natural nails in better shape than ever. Other salons will scrape the nails off & damage your nails during the removal in a lazy rush, but Lily Nails removed it so gently and treated my nails very preciously. I always notice when my nails/cuticles are being handled roughly, and they were extremely gentle. It was almost like a spa experience. I will absolutely be a returning customer. read more

Took 1.5 hours, nails are lumpy and you can see my nails through the lighter colors. Lady was rude, wouldn't recommend this place or return. Didn't feel welcoming at all. Do not waste your time trying this place. Would not recommend to anyone. Ignored bad reviews and took a chance. Made an appointment and showed up early to it. Was the only person in the place and they started taking off my acrylics and then two walk ins came in and they proceeded to do their nails first while I sat there for almost an hour. All I needed was a simple gel manicure which was a much shorter process than what they requested. After almost completing both of their nails I was then taken care of. They spent maybe 10 min on my nails, they are all filed unevenly and I have residue from the gel polish all over my fingers. Very disappointing, I should've just done my own nails for the quality. Don't go here. Not great customer service either just to top it off. read more

Not a great experience. I made two appointments for dip manicures for my friend and I today at 1. We walked in and there were only 2 employees in the middle of their services. We had to wait 20 minutes and then only one person was available who did both of our nails because the other employee was still with the other customer. We spent 2.5 hours there. Then, an employee comes in without a mask and leans over and starts nitpicking the way the employee was doing our manicure. Then, the employee doing both of our manicures cut into our cuticles, drawing blood. Also, he was very "grabby" with our hands anddid not listen when we told him certain motions were painful. My experience here began well. I went in for a mani/pedi plus french tips. A nail technician helped me choose a base color for my nails. I was seated in a chair for the pedicure, and it was lovely. The chair massages you as you sit, and it was amazing. Helped me relax, put me at ease. The tech doing my nails was very thorough and made my feet feel great. At the end of my pedicure, I noticed she had not done french tips, just a solid color. You could also see the streaks of nail polish on the nails, and the nails on my big toes had slightly different shapes. But I didn't make a big deal if it, because who is looking at my feet that closely, right? I paid for my service then, before the manicure. It was $54 altogether. What a steal! Right? I tipped $11, assuming that I was going to be leaving happy. During my manicure, the tech filed my nails down. I'm not sure why, as they were already quite short, but I didn't say anything, because I assumed she knew what she was doing. But she filed the hell out of them! After everything was done, I found myself with very short nails, all filed into different shapes (she literally wasn't even looking when she was filing some of them), and all with sloppy, uneven french tips of varying widths. And the color didn't match my toes. I asked her to please redo them, and to refund the $5 for the french tips, because I didn't want them anymore. Another nail technician offered to redo them with the tips. I was hesitant, but she was very reassuring that she would do a good job, so I accepted. She started by filing my nails even more. She checked in with me after doing the tip on one nail, which I was pleased with. But after she finished all was done again, I could see that it wasn't much better than before. None of the other tips were as thin and neat as the first. The tips were sloppy, and looked very awkward because my nails were all different shapes. Some nails had paint hanging off the edges. I asked for them to be redone again, all solid color, because I figured it's hard to screw that up. So a third tech did them again. And they came out sloppy, again. No refunds on services, but I was very unhappy, so I asked for my $11 tip back. They put up a fuss, but did eventually give it back. "Who asks for their tip back?' one of the techs says right in front of me. Someone is is very unhappy they spent $65 on ugly nails, that's who. I left with nails looking worse than the ones I walked in with. I got this done for a photo shoot I am doing tomorrow, but in the end I am just going to remove the polish they put on and apply stick-on nails from CVS. What a waste of money. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $20 to go someplace where they know what they're doing. read more

Not sure if the polish they are using is old or the process of applying is missing something but I have never had gel not last at least two weeks! I kept asking the girl to shape them better but after about the fifth time off her asking me if they were ok and me saying no, I got tired of telling her and just decided I would file them at hi one. I shouldn't have had to tell her they looked horrible. It was pretty obvious. When I informed the owner of the situation and told her I was very disappointed and although I was more than happy to pay for the pedicure, that I did not think I should have to pay for the manicure, she offered to refile them and still left them unshapely and jagged and insisted I pay for it even though I was still CLEARLY unhappy. I went and got a manicure. The salon was very clean, it was inviting. The manicure however was poor. The nail cut was very uneven. Some fingers having little to no nail and some having none at all. The nails weren't rounded to all look even and consistent. It looks as if I had a 10 year old clip my nails. I could have did a better job at home. I will never come to this salon again. I never write yelp reviews but the terrible service I got here makes me want to do so. First off, I am met with the overpowering smell of chemicals when I walk in. I waited an additional 30 minutes which is unacceptable. The nail color samples on the windowsill are faded because of the sun. The man that did my gel nails did them poorly where it is now peeling on the sides on multiple fingers (as pictured) and a terrible job at cutting cuticles. I don't know how you can mess up a simple gel polish with no design. Their kids were running around distracting him while he was working as well. He sprayed no antiseptic on my nails-- I had to wash my hands in between. I got charged more money because they removed my previous gel polish, racking it up to $43 with terrible service. Two days ago, I dropped by again as a walk-in client at Lily Nails & Spa for a manicure and pedicure, and you know what? I really like the regular pedicure here--I mean, just the *regular* pedi includes an exfoliating sugar scrub *and* a warm (albeit kinda brief) towel treatment! :-) At other nail salons, I've noticed that such add-ons are only part of deluxe pedi packages. As for my regular manicure here, it was so-so. Obviously my nail tech (a male, though his gender's hardly relevant) was far less than enthused with what he was doing, and as he was removing the cuticle of my left middle fingernail, it started to bleed. :-/ However! The other techs present were always very friendly, one of whom had done my gel manicure this past June. (Although that gel manicure did not last for a month like the one I had had done at another area nail salon, it did last the typical two weeks before chipping away.) And the ADORABLE four-year-old son of one of those techs happened to be hanging out at the salon while I was having my procedures done; I ended up having some cute little conversations with him. :-) I will return again for a pedicure and may try the facial waxing services. And should I get another regular manicure here, I'll probably schedule an appointment and make sure to specify a preferred nail tech. :-) read more

I generally like the work that the owner does. She is the one with dark hair and has the dog Toby (who is super cute!!). She is friendly and makes conversation, she is patient and does a good job, sadly, I can't same the same for her employees. One lady in particular I can't stand. She is impatient, flipping your hand around and ignoring your requests. She barely gives you time to choose your color and then cuts/burns me at least once, when I see she's there I usually leave but today I was overdue. Same thing happens. My nails are shaped horribly and I she rushed it. My pedicures are generally OK but if you want a good scrub, go elsewhere. It will be pretty but they do nothing different and charge more. When I went to pay she told me my bill was $50. The dishonesty on their prices is appalling and I'm sad to see other reviews with the same issue. Would not recommend. I went to the salon to get a mani & pedi. They charged me more for services than the website and sign in the store advertises. I went with a freind who got the same service and she was charged correctly. When I pointed this out, they got aggressively rude and tried to lie about the prices. When I called they hung up on me. Also my nails don't even look that good, theres a huge gap between polish and cuticle. They are very shady and have you sign an agreement that you won't dispute the price AFTER THEY DO YOUR NAILS. She did not lift the acrylic that was lifting entirely. Nor did she file my nails well so u couldn't see lumps on my nails. They are so misleading with their prices. Talking about u can save 10% if you pay cash. Why not just put a sign there and says there is an xtra fee to use a card. On top of tax and a service fee. Don't like how they do business. Then they make y sign a disclosure at the end of service saying there are no refunds. You should say that before you do the service. That way I can choose if I want to have the service done or not. Always so happy with the service at Lily, but my recent experience with Heather made it even better! I got a full set of acrylics with gel, and I am so happy with the way they turned out. On top of the aesthetics of the service I received, I felt welcomed for the entirety of my trip and had great conversation. Prices were very reasonable, and it's an easy bus ride down High Street (so perfect for students at OSU). I'll definitely continue coming to Lily whenever I'm on campus! read more

So I stopped here to get a last minute set of nails, first they will charge you for length, shape, and will not paint your nails and put a gel layer on top, they make you pay for the colour as well. At first I was able to push those aside, but then I looked at my nails and they're all morphed, all different thicknesses and they had cut me so bad on my cuticle, blood began to pool in that crease between the nail and cuticle. Last of all, my bank flagged my account for unknown transactions... I took a closer look and they had refunded me the cost I paid in store and recharged me more without consent. Needless to say I will be opening up a fraud investigation because I have NEVER had that happen to me. I have been getting my nails done for over 10 years (ive had them done in Canada, Florida, Arizona, and Seattle) so I know what to look for and by far the worst nail place I have been to... I wish I could rate this place less than 1 star- I really don't know how you make an acrylic removal somehow last 2 hours. I literally made an appointment for JUST an acrylic removal- walked in at 4 and left at 6. They left me soaking my hands for around an hour, then drilled for two seconds, soaked my hands for another 10 mins and repeated the process about 5 times. During the whole time, there was a kid running around messing with other technicians and just looked like she wanted to go home. Halfway through the appointment, there was random yelling and moaning?? Nobody had their masks on the whole time except one person, and my nail tech cut my fingers FIVE times as well as picked at my actual nails so hard she literally broke my natural nail twice. My nail tech was not at all a perfectionist, my nails are unevenly cut and jagged. Furthermore 3 days after paying a decent chunk of money at this salon one of my dip nails chipped. At other salons I've paid the same price and my dip nails have lasted chip free for a month. I reached out to the salon asking them to fix my nail free of charge and they have been silent. I got a gel manicure on 9/24/2016. The "manicure" consisted of cutting/filing my nails, cutting my cuticles, and then rubbing lotion on my hands. The gel ended up being so thick, and the edges so uneven, that even my boyfriend commented that it didn't look very good. I went back the same day and asked them to re-do it. It looked less thick, but the edges were still horrible. In the process of removing the prior gel manicure my cuticles got all ripped up and I ended up bleeding on 4 fingers. I posted a picture of the finished product above. I couldn't bear to ask her to re-do it again, since it just seemed like it wasn't going to get any better. I wish I would have asked for my money back. Aside from the fact that my manicure doesn't look great, the place itself is just kind of... gross. The desk that I sat at was covered in another person's nail dust when I sat down. The UV light that dries the gel also had someone else's nail dust inside of it. When I got my nails fixed, she didn't swap out the tools between myself and the customer before me. When she cut my cuticles, I saw that someone else's skin was already between the blades. I've been to Lily Nails a few times before when I couldn't make the time to go my regular salon. I usually got decent service and end result. It tends to be very crowded with a decent wait but I expect that from most walk in nail salons. (Especially since this one seems to be the main salon for campus students) Today I went in and received subpar service. I came in a full hour before closing to get a simple balance, no nail polish (so no drying time) which usually takes 30-45 minutes. There were no other customers so I was helped immediately. The woman clearly had trouble understanding what I wanted the first few times which I can excuse being a ESL person as well. However, it felt like she still didn't get what I wanted. I asked her to make it flat and not rounded, and still didn't do it after being asked a few times. The shaping was a little off on some nails but i was exasperated at this point so I just paid and left. I just feel like she didn't do that great of a job. Now the MAIN REASON I am leaving a review: I happened to glance at the floor by my seat and the wall and I'm pretty sure I saw a roach on the floor. It was the size of a dime and crawling around. She was about halfway done with my nails at that point so it took everything in me to not run out. I don't understand how a nail salon would have cockroaches. It makes me a little sketched out on their cleanliness. I honestly won't bother patronizing this place in the future. I just had a terrible experience with this place. I had my acrylic nails done two weeks ago so I came to Lily Nails and Spa today for a balance/fill in. I explained that I was just wanting a french manicure this time with no color. I was told that they do not do that in their salon with the white nail polish for the french manicure. I was told that I would have to get a white fill in and tips put on my nails and the cost would be 38.00, so I am going from 18 to 38 for a simple balance. I was not going for this and instead asked if I can do a french manicure with an alternate color (as I had done previously) and I was told yes, so I decided to go this route. The young nail technician was very rude and short with me. He as angry that I did not want the white tips. I explained, why would I want to pay an additional 20.00 to have white tips when I just had them put on 2 weeks ago. He then proceeded to balance my nails, but was not friendly and did not converse with me at all. He was somewhat rough hurting my nails when running the drill and then he was extremely sloppy. My nails were uneven and not all filed in the same shape. When he was done, I went to pick out a color to do my tips with. At first notice, he did not even clean off all of the nail polish from my previous time (which was red) and it was all underneath my nails. He then proceeded to polish my whole nail and not give me tips like I asked. He then left pink nail polish around the edges and there were bubbles present throughout my polish. This was the worst experience I have ever had and I am very disappointed in the service I received. I will not be going back here and nor would I recommend it based on the rude way I was treated since I would not pay an additional 20.00 for some white tips. This was ludicrous and ridiculous and I caution anyone that goes here to make sure that they see prices and are explicit on what they want prior to sitting down in a chair with this young male technician. Although I've given Lily's a great review in the past, my most recent visit has certainly changed my views on this salon for the worst. I don't get my nails done often, but since Valentines Day weekend is a special holiday, I thought it would be nice to get my nails done. I've been to Lily's before and since I live on campus, there aren't many nail salons in the area that I've heard of. The prices are average, so I gave it another shot. Walking in the salon, I wasn't greeted and stood there for about 30 seconds before an employee said anything to me, despite there only being two other customers in the salon. I told the employee who eventually greeted me that I wanted a natural gel manicure and he told me to pick out a color. The nail tech who did my nails was OK, but the overall service here is lacking. My nails were hastily filed and uneven (I did voice my concern about this in the moment), and there was not much attention to detail or creating a relaxing experience for the customer. Not only did my nails look very average, THEY CHIPPED THE NEXT DAY. My bill was $32, and I was extremely disappointed that I paid over $30 for a manicure that chipped within a day and is supposed to last two weeks. I'm not sure if the campus area location causes them to run into "annoying" college students too often, but to me that would not be an excuse to treat customers with a lack of care since they are in the service business. I will not be back to Lily's Salon anytime in the near future. I've been a frequent customer to Lily Nail and Spa for years. The shop offers a variety of services, including full acrylic sets, solar, gel, pedicures, and waxing. After changing management a few years back, Lily's has improved greatly on the quality of services and the artistic abilities of the technicians. However, Lily's has begun to lack in customer service. I am regularly not greeted upon arrival to the shop, EVEN as a regular customer. The prices are a bit overpriced for the most basic of services. They do offer discounts for added services, but singular services (ex: manicure with without acrylic) are often just dollars price difference. I've been charged varying prices for the same service, and have had to correct the technicians on pricing multiple times. Lily's is the closest shop to OSU campus, making it an ideal place for students to walk for services. Overall clean environment with great results. read more
