Vegan tacos
Debs S.

So good and authentic. Cute family owned restaurant. Fairly priced and very inclusive menu. Loved the vegan options. The tortillas are bomb and everything has so much flavor. Definitely coming back with my family next time I'm in town

I've eaten here lots of times, but this is my first review. I ordered the chile relleno burrito, and it was really good. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was delicious. My husband loves their chile verde burritos. I've had breakfast here many times. I usually order chilaquiles, and they are always good. If we lived closer, I'd go more often!

Vegan Al pastor

This rating is solely for the vegan tacos. The vegan al pastor tacos are so flavorful. I kept thinking about how good they were I went twice in one week. It's rare to find a such a good vegan product with good texture and flavor, usually you're sacrificing one, not here. If you are vegan or vegetarian, you must try these.

Tacos! One carne asada con todo y one pollo con todo!

I was at the hospital up the street all day and needed a quick little snacky snack. Tacos sounded like a good idea so I came to Lily's. I ordered one carne asada and one pollo con todo. Then I took a seat and soaked in the ambiance because it felt a bit deja vu with the vinyl table cloths, people chatting in Spanish and Mexican tunes playing in the background. It finally hit me, it's circa 1970 something, and I am sitting in my grandma's kitchen in La Puente! But then I get nervous because my grandma was a terrible cook! I am snapped out of my mini dining crisis when my tacos quickly arrive at the table, and they are beautiful! Every bite had the perfect proportion of meat, onions, cilantro and chile. Super delicious, and not at all like my grandma's cooking (sorry grandma, RIP! When I see you again, we'll have some wine!) I will definitely return for these tacos and maybe try the chili verde or a daily special. Muchas Gracias Lily for not cooking like my grandma!

"Bacon" and egg breakfast burrito

So I was really debating between giving this place 3 or 4 stars but I went with 3. As you can see, I ordered a bacon and egg breakfast burrito and there is hardly and bacon or egg, mostly beans and potato. The burrito had a good flavor but it was pretty much missing what I actually ordered. I will say though that the gentleman who was working there was very pleasant and brought out the order really fast, which is why I wanted to give it 4 stars. The dining area was very clean and plenty of room to sit if you want to dine in. Overall, I don't think I will be going back for breakfast. Maybe lunch? We'll see.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. Nice cozy, small family establishment. Clean little set up with a good amount of open space! The food was right on point. They have their food! Their family, staff and helpfull. Do you recommend this Lily Tacos ?

I was hoping they would have a Taco Tuesday special or something but they don't... I ordered 2 carne asada and 1 al pastor tacos to go. They were prettty solid and delicious! Carne asada was really nice, the al pastor was definitely more flavorful, but it had more of the burnt ends, so it was either even more flavorful from the charred parts, or it was a bit hard and too crispy to have. Overall, still pretty nice though. I liked how they had the side bar, which it doesn't look entirely the cleanest, but pretty decent. Total for 3 tacos came out to be $9, so it's about $3 each. Kinda high for tacos imo, but they're pretty good.

Taco Tuesday + Cinco de Mayo felt like the perfect excuse to grab tacos before a business meeting…read more We arrived to the area early and wanted something quick, and Tijuana Tacos was perfect for that bc the tacos came out quickly. Parking is limited, so we were happy to snag one of the last spots. This is an order-at-the-counter spot with a salsa bar, hot beans, indoor and outdoor seating, and even Mexican Coke. Indoor seating is also pretty limited, so my friend and I were glad to grab one of the small tables. I ordered the lengua and asada tacos and both were flavorful, tender, and loaded with meat. I was honestly too hungry and eager to take a picture beforehand, but I can assure you the portions are plentiful. The tacos were a little greasy, but still really satisfying. Solid taco spot if you're in Pomona.

The server was attentive without being overbearing and had great recommendations for the menu. Now, let's talk about the drinks, the margaritas are phenomenal. You can tell they use fresh lime juice rather than a cheap, sugary mix, and the tequila selection is impressive. Pair that with their freshly made salsa and perfectly charred grilled meats, and you have a winner. We will definitely be regular customers here!

Unfortunately, we did have to wait around 30-40 minutes for the buffet to be ready.. we were served mimosas right away, which was nice. Now.. when it came down to the food, one person in my party did find a vey long hair in her chile relllenos. We made it know to our waitress.. which was a sweet person throughout everything!! Then we were told that the chilaquiles and taco station was now open.. so we headed down to it. There was no one to great us at the station. We stood around for around 10 minutes and no one showed up. So at that moment I grabbed a bowel of menudo. Lucky me!! I also grabbed a long hair in my menudo.. my sister in law thought it was a piece of onion but it was not! It was a very long strand of hair. At that point we all tried our best to make the best of it and enjoy the mariachi and mimosas. Then when I returned to the taco/chilaquile station the lady was very rude!! She bluntly asked what we wanted instead of telling us our options.. and I said I'll have 2 chorizo tacos please.. she said where's your plate?? I wasn't aware that I had to give her a plate to serve me. It was an overall horrible experience. Especially because we were literally the only party in the entire place besides the mariachi. The mariachi and our server were the only pleasant people that morning. I will never be returning.

The outside of the establishment may not be entirely appealing, but what awaits within is sure to warm your heart. Eating their food feels like an ode from the heart. It is reminiscent of pulling off to the side of the road to a Mariscos food truck in Tijuana. The food is comforting and reminds you of how Hispanic culture brings people together through food and music. All the staff here is very kind and have a lively spirit. As you are enjoying your food it is warming to hear them laughing, enjoying each other's company, and Bad Bunny music of course. I had the Tostada Mixta pictured below and believe it or not I had already dug in and eaten a whole tostada by the time I remembered to snap a pic. The portions are very generous and for the price, can't be beat! The Tacos de Camaron are flavor packed with every bite. These are freshly cooked to order and you can tell by the temperature, be careful. I can't describe them to anything else I have had in the past as they are so unique in the best way. Not pictured is the aguachiles. As spicy as they are, I couldn't find myself putting them down. The flavor keeps you hooked wanting more and more. I am excited to try out a Coctel next and am positive I will have nothing but praise. Definitely worth a try if you are ever out in the area or just passing by. The bang for your buck and the flavor held in each morsel which be nothing short of satisfactory.

We absolutely love this place and decided to come for our anniversary. I'll preface this by saying…read morethe food taste was amazing, like always. But some shady charges or maybe we'll call it miscommunication just rubbed me the wrong way. I always order the mole chicken enchiladas and my wife (being vegetarian) asks for the same dish but if the enchiladas can be vegetable or cheese. Apparently this means a 8$ up charge? We've done this many times in the past and always been charged the same price for both. I asked the server at the end "the veggie version is 8$ more expensive than chicken?" And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.
