Was craving for Chinese food and stumbled upon this restaurant for dinner. They have their own private parking lot with plenty of parking, which is a plus. The restaurant looks pretty nice on the inside. Didn't expect that from their exterior. Got seated right away, no waiting. Their menu is extensive. Please note that this is a Hong Kong style Chinese food, which I love wholeheartedly. Staffs were very friendly, made dinning here more enjoyable. We ordered the followings: - Black Pepper Beef - Sauteed Spicy String Beans - Seafood Crispy Noodles - Orange Chicken - Steam Rice All the dishes were fairly good except for the Black Pepper Beef. I think they put way too much black pepper, which made the beef tasted a bit salty. Other than that, everything else is great. Their Lunch Special Menu looks like a good deal. Will attempt to try that next time.

While I enjoy Chinese food, it isn't regularly in my rotation. However, I had the pleasure of having lunch at Cachanilla with a friend after shopping Sunday afternoon. She ordered the Singapore noodles (curry flavor) and I had the salt and pepper chicken wings (crispy with dry spices that had a subtle sweetness), sharing the spicy green beans (garlicky but not spicy). Each item was delicious and service was friendly. The restaurant had patrons at various tables but we were able to enjoy our conversation.

Came in around opening time. It was empty, smelled good, greeted right away and the server was an older lady with a warm feeling. Ate the egg flower soup and drank Hot tea while I was inside waiting for my he food I wanted to take to my office. The beef and chow mein was excellent! Just how I remembered growing up in this neighborhood. The soup and tea were hot, flavorful and with the server making sure I ate it all. Inside is decorated well, clean and will definitely be returning.

He'd never had mexicali Chinese food before so we tried while visiting. Portions are huge. Service is great. Very friendly. Food and tea were piping hot. My husband had jalapeño chicken and I had Szechuan eggplant. He got hot and sour soup and it turned out a medium is enough for four. Everything tasted really fresh.

100/10 stars, this is by far the tastiest Chinese food in the area, with a beautiful interior and wonderful service. This is Mexicali style Chinese, and every single person I take here has loved it. I am obsessed with the shrimp chop suey and the honey walnut shrimp. The friend rice is also amazing. To top it off they have a cute claw machines with Pokémon , Kuromi, etc which is great for the kids. The kids also loved the revolving family style tables. Such a cute family dine in spot. I'm a huge fan and regular at this point

Mexicali raised and lived years eating Cachanilla Chinese food gal for life. Let me give you the honest review. Pros: walnut shrimp was 10/10! The restaurant is very well kept inside and it does remind me of the classy and look that Mexicali has all around. The beef fried rice was decent too. Lots of parking and well kept for the area I didn't see trash of homeless on site. Also the red pork meat was yummy. Cons: My mom raved about the Duck here however we ordered a half order for $40 a La carte and it wasn't crispy as she requested. We asked the waitress to please make it a little bit more Crispy she said they couldn't and told my mom no. We also ordered shrimp friend rice with beef and got no shrimp. So we kindly asked they just didn't charge us the three meat one we ordered. The waitress didn't even bother again to try and make it right. They also don't carry the cold ice tea served in Mexicali. The spicy mayo is also not available. The fish chips are also missing. The manager was very nice and kind but the waitress was dismissive and not really helpful. Tip for MANAGEMENT: Look into the service the waitress is providing it's not good and cold. I read another recent review that she was rude to long term customer. Thats a red flag don't loose long term clients for bad service. But the food is good and it gets you a closer taste of Mexicali but can never match the quality of amazing experience in a real Cachanilla restaurant.

Location: Located in the heart of Pomona. From the outside the place does not look like much. Many may even overlook it. If you have a chance, give them a try. You wont regret it. Ambience: Theve recently made updates to the inside. Even though its older, they added some modern touches. Plenty of seating for larger parties. Food: Food is a 5/5. Every dish we've tasted has been a hit. Lettuce wraps, filet mignon bites, egg drop soup, chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, Kung pad chicken to name a few. Food was cooked well with great flavors. Never too salty or sweet. Service: Staff are friendly, attentive, and courteous. Love the gentleman when he is the one helping because he always tells silly jokes to bring positivity in the air.

    Parking lot plenty of parking.

Horrible! Horrible! Fries rice was the worst! It tasted like grease and was very dry (almost crunchy) first and last time!

Ask the Community - Cachanilla Chinese Restaurant

Does this restaurant offer options for catering?

I believe they do but it's always good to call them and double check :)

Can anyone tell me how they make the teriyaki chicken so dang tender!?!? I swear every restaurant I've ever been to can get tips from this place on how to marinate their chicken thighs.

They marinate it in baking soda

    Do they still serve lobsters?

    Yes they do

    Is there outdoor dining?

No, there is not. Only delivery or take-out

Are they open for dine in?

As of June 29th 2020. Not at the moment

Are you open for take out? Because I tried calling and number listed is invalid. Thanks?

Hi. We were closed for remodeling but now we are open for take out and delivery.

How many people can you accommodate for in one dinner?

Hello. We can accommodate large parties of 10, 12, 16 based on the availability of our tables. We… Read more

I have a question, I heard great things about your food that is made like in Mexicali... my question is do bj u also have the same Black Tea like they serve in Mexicali?

We have a lemon iced tea that is very popular with our customers but I'm not sure if it is the same tea that is available there

This is a question for the actual business. Would love to try the your place as we have recently moved to the neighborhood. Do you happen have any vegan options (no animal products: fish sauce, egg, oyster sauce, etc.)? Thanks!

Hi there thanks for the question. We have a couple of vegan options available such as the fried tofu, mapo tofu without pork, veg fried rice with no egg and our other vegetables dishes. However make sure to order without chicken bouyon seasoning and… Read more

Inside this location, filled with handwritten signs, taped up posters of food, and visibly edited prices, you get the true sense of a local Chinese takeout place. For about $10 after tax, you can get a classic takeout styro filled to the brim (not past the point where the box is breaking, but still rather full) with chow mein, fried rice, and two entrees. And they'll do it for you fast and happily. I was in and out in less than 3 minutes. If you don't know your American Chinese cuisine, there's not many labels so you can just point at what looks decent, which was a good amount of the warming tray selections. Egg rolls are also at a good price point--start off with 2 for $1 and some change or get 5 or 8 for not much more.
