We arrived at 5:00 PM excited to try this new restaurant in our neighborhood. At the time, the dining room appeared to be about 90% empty. We were told they were unable to seat us due to upcoming reservations, and no alternative options were initially offered. The suggested a high table near the bar but we had a small child with us. We asked if we could wait, and although there was some hesitation, we were placed on a waitlist. After waiting for a while with no movement, we decided to try the restaurant next door. They were busy but seated us right away. Dinner at Ike and Oak was delicious! As we left, the restaurant was still largely empty. It felt like a missed opportunity -- we were ready to dine and support a new local business, and likely would have been in and out well before many of the anticipated reservations arrived. Unfortunately, the experience left us choosing another place to give our business too. Customer service is so important when there are so many places to give your business to. read more

Nice night out at Lima Fresca! Slightly nicer meal out while still being very family friendly. Our little guy was loving waving to other kids around him- that said we went in the earlier end and by the time we were leaving the bar was filling up and looked like a nice place to sit for a drink! The margaritas were nice, good flavor and generous pour. I embraced fish Fridays and I really enjoyed the crispy fish taco! So flaky and really flavorful! So often fish tacos can be bland and this one was delicious. I also liked the Baja shrimp taco topped with juicy pineapple. The rice and bean were a little too salty/seasoned for me (this is a hot take because my husband loved them so to each their own)! Our server was very nice and attentive and we were happy to take home some leftovers! CHIP ALERT! All Mexican restaurants should have an awesome chips and salsa and Lima Fresca did not disappoint here! As a long time returning customer, we had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant due to the manager's behavior. Before our food had even arrived, the manager came over to our table and immediately scolded us because our children were coloring with markers. He stated that it was unacceptable and that we would be charged a fee to remove any marker from the table. What was most frustrating was that he never asked whether the markers were washable, nor did he attempt to see if the marks could be easily removed. Instead, he jumped straight to accusing us and threatening additional charges. His approach was rude, confrontational, and completely unnecessary. As parents, we understand the importance of respecting a restaurant's property and would have gladly addressed any issue if asked politely. Unfortunately, the manager's behavior made us feel unwelcome and embarrassed. The interaction happened before we had even received our meals and completely changed the tone of our evening. What should have been an enjoyable family dinner became uncomfortable and stressful. Customer service matters, and a simple conversation handled with kindness and professionalism would have gone a long way. Sadly, that was not our experience. read more

We were dining with our family, and our children were quietly coloring when the manager abruptly approached our table. Instead of politely explaining a policy, he immediately told us that if our kids colored on the table, we would either have to clean it ourselves or pay a fee. He then demanded that we choose right then and there. The issue wasn't the policy itself. If the restaurant has rules about markers and tables, that's completely their right. The problem was the manager's aggressive, confrontational tone and the way he spoke to us as paying customers. There was no attempt to have a respectful conversation--just an unnecessary ultimatum. What should have been a simple, courteous reminder instead became an uncomfortable interaction that left us feeling unwelcome. Customer service matters, and a manager sets the tone for the entire dining experience. Unfortunately, this manager's attitude overshadowed our visit. Great date spot. Had only been outside & that was nice but SUCH a cute place inside! Picante pineapple margarita is delightful, just enough spice for a kick. Tacos are so much bigger than usual at other taco joints, and full of meats & goodies. Great salsa, guacamole order was HUGE!!! Enough for 4 people. Black beans are so appreciated as alternative to refried; rice has actual flavor. And as a treat cuz it was a first date...fresh warm churros with chocolate. Yummy yum. I ordered a hibiscus Margarita which was very tasty. I asked the waitress how many enchiladas came with the meal and she stated four. When I asked if you could mix them like you can with a taco platter she stated no. Disappointing as it would be nice to be able to order a variety. I ended up getting the queso enchiladas which came with black beans and white cilantro rice. I wasn't a fan of any of it. However my husband ordered the el pastor enchiladas which came with a red sauce, Spanish rice and refried beans which was delicious. We came here before a movie at seven bridges, and service was fairly speedy. We got a table quickly with a reservation, and the menu was not too long to be overwhelming but had lots of options. The drinks were a highlight - my margarita came with a fresh slice of watermelon, which was a fun treat. For a nicer Mexican spot, it was perfectly fine for a spot for dinner before a movie, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for a dinner date or nice dinner out with friends. read more

Great food, fair prices and I will never go there again! As called out in another review, Lima Fresca has decided to add a 2% surcharge to your final bill for "increased food costs" without disclosing it when you order. If you need to raise your prices, no problem raise your prices. If you need to charge a surcharge for credit card use, fine as long as you disclose it. But to add an undisclosed surcharge to the final bill hoping people won't notice. This is deceptive. I refused to pay the surcharge and it was removed from bill. In turn I took the surcharge amount and added it to my planned tip so the person actually doing the work will get the money, not the corporate entity. read more

Located in 7 Bridges, Lima Fresca offers traditional Mexican cuisine with lots of free and easy parking out front. I was here with a group of 4 for an early Saturday dinner. It was pretty empty when we first sat down but once 630pm came around the place was poppin! Our server was the perfect amount of attentive. He gave us time to look over the menu on our own and also made himself available if we had any questions. After we finished our meals he brought over complimentary ice cream with a lit candle which was such a nice gesture to help celebrate a birthday. For drinks I tried the pasion margarita which was OK, it was pretty watered down and I didn't taste much (or feel) any of the alcohol in it. I also had a few sips of the mezcal old fashioned which I did like, it was strong and bold. For food I tried the red snapper plate that came with rice, black beans and veggies. The fish itself was pretty bland however it wasn't fishy so I'll take it! The rice and veggies were seasoned well, very tasty. My fiance tried the carne asada he's giving it a 5 stars. The 2 others in our group tried enchilada plates. Their plates were spotless by the end of the meal so I take that as a sign that they thoroughly enjoyed it! read more

This is place is pretty good. I appreciate the location and plentiful parking. It beats having to park in a parking garage in Naperville. Everyone here is nice and not snobby at all. The space is beautiful. Cons: the fish is deep fried. Would love just a basic pan fry on a fish taco. You get charged extra for hot sauce and their salsa is so mild. Pros: you can mix and match different tacos and there are plenty of them. They have a nice cocktail menu as well. read more

We were actually in the area for a different restaurant which ended up closing early so we decided to try out Lima Fresca nearby. And omg it was the most amazing decision ever! I've been wanting to scour some good Mexican food spots near the Woodridge area and this place was such a great surprise! The staff is incredibly helpful in deciding what to get given that they have quite an extensive menu with tons of options! We were greeted with warm chips and salsa and we ordered the taco platter, the Lima wet burrito, and a few drinks including a mojito. The mojito is probably the best I've had in the suburbs. It's strong yet so flavorful and refreshing. The taco platter comes with 3 tacos, with a side of rice and beans. Every taco was delicious - we got the Al pastor, carne asada, and chicken tinga. The star of the night was the Lima wet burrito. I ordered with grilled chicken instead of chicken tinga per my server's recommendation and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! It was covered in the yummiest green sauce, and came with a side of guac and pico! The burrito was hugeeee and I even had leftovers for the next day!! Are here twice now, lunch and dinner. Delicious both times. They do NOT have ground beef; so if you or your kiddos need this option, you'll have to find another location. Their margaritas are reasonably priced and large in size. Tasty, too! We just stuck with the tortillas and chips instead of getting an additional appetizer. I can highly recommend the guacamole, though. It's very good. My husband had the Enchiladas de Barbacoa, shredded beef enchiladas, for his entree. This dish came with Spanish rice and refried beans. Great taste and lots of gooey cheese. I had Camarones a la Diabla, grilled shrimp skewers. The sauce was hot so it was suggested by our server to have it oh the side. He brought me a milder sauce. The shrimp was full of flavor without the sauce, though. I didn't even need it. My dish came with black beans and cilantro lime rice. So delish! Our server was Jesus who was friendly, attentive and provided wonderful service. The restaurant has a great bar area, but we requested a booth in the large dining area. We stopped in on a Saturday evening around 5pm and were pleasantly surprised on our first visit! Staff was welcoming, delightful, and held great conversation! While we only stayed for 30 minutes or so, it was a memorable stop, which I attribute to the excellent staff behind the bar. 5 stars for service and atmosphere - the hosts were super friendly when we got there. They had accurate wait times and were prompt with a high chair for my toddler. The outdoor patio is great! I love that they have these huge umbrellas attached to the railings. Our waitress was very friendly and checked in on us often. Sat at the bar for dinner on Sunday. I like the modern Mexican decor. The bartender was bubbly and fun. She was very attentive. The margarita of the month (with coconut and pineapple) was delicious.
