The service was quick , cashier was very friendly...I got the 3 tacos for $6 and a steak fajita taco. The shells on the 3 were ...maybe stale? They were crunchy but maybe in a stale way,the meat was ok lacked a little bit of flavor, the steak had maybe 4-5 veggies on it ( the bell pepper and onion) the chips and salsa were great and fresh. Food was absolute trash. $4.32 and 10min for a taco that tasted like some flavorless mess from a make-at-home kit (think old El Paso quality). Have been by this place so many times and decided to finally stop by. The place was basically empty which isn't super promising. I ordered the steak fajita burrito bowl and it is HUGE! You can split it into 2 meals, or split it with another person. The flavor is great and I loved the onions and peppers in it. So if you order this, make sure you get the fajita steak, not the regular steak. It is an upcharge but it's worth it!! Only thing I wish was better was the service. Like I said, it was empty but it took us awhile to get our food. At least it was fresh! Will be back! read more

I have passed this restaurant many times when heading to the grocery, so thought it was about time to try some of their menu items. I went with my go-to's, steak tacos and steak burrito. Favorite Mexican Woodridge restaurant of my mother and aunties. They have a very authentic caldo de res (beef soup) that my dad loves and reminds him of my abuela's soup. The only problem with this place is it takes FOREVERRRRRRRR for your order, so be prepared to wait 20+ minutes for your 'fast food' soup. This has happened to us twice in 3 months and can't understand why carryout soup takes so long? Soup comes with a little tinfoil package of warm corn tortillas which is a nice touch. We also got a steak burrito to go, which my dad also loved. They do put the food in large styrofoam containers, and the food was still hot after an hour's drive. The prices are pretty cheap - just be willing to wait awhile. read more

Had their Giant Burrito which was a combination of thick, oily, soggy chorizo and chewy burnt chorizo. The amount of bottom scraping meat that ended up in this meal was done with a lot of effort, probably to clean cookware. Totally nauseating. read more

I would give our experience 3.5 stars. The prices start pretty reasonable, but I feel like they do have a lot of up charges for things. For example, nachos are in the $8 range, but pico, sour cream and guacamole were all extra charges. Certain meat options were also extra. Understandable on the guac and some meats, but no free pico?!? I ordered the nachos with chicken and added guacamole. The quantity was very big and topped with tons of chicken! They definitely didn't skimp on the guac, and it was fresh with a strong kick of lime. I really liked it! I would say though, if there was less chicken but more toppings to equal out the pricing on this that would've been even better, but they were enjoyable none the less. The only thing I didn't love is the cheese sauce. I've never liked that fake nacho cheese and didn't realize that's what the menu meant when it mentioned "melted cheese". I would skip it next time for sure. I also got a steak taco for the next day. It was nicely filled with steak and very tasty! My husband got their giant burrito and a tamale. The giant burrito is definitely a massive behemoth! He was able to easily make it two portions. He enjoyed it! The tamale was also surprisingly huge. He also liked that. We went to this restaurant last Saturday only because, one of the restaurants that we had intended on going to was closed. Then right across the parking lot was this place we, decided to try out. I feel like we made a good decision, their tacos were awesome, most Mexican burrito places in Bolingbrook have too much fat on their carne asada. This place had barbacoa as well. The place doesn't have adequate heating during winter time. The dining area has no heating at all. The metal chairs are too cold when you sit on them. The order taker seems nice but has a little bit of indifference to her job. Meaning, she doesn't really care about the job. The food is on and off. Depends on who's the cook. I've been coming to this place for years. So I know what I'm talking about. I recommend the owner fixes the AC problem. Get nicer order takers who are friendlier. Get a consistent group of cooks. El Burrito Loco in Woodridge Illinois definitely stands out. It doesn't take the cake but it is definitely worth the money. They have a nice relatively big selection of different choices with reasonable pricing along with nice sized portions. Let's start with the Steak Burrito Suiza. I'd like to start off by saying I'm not sure what kind of steak this is nor am I sure whether it's not processed or not. But I will say it is a reasonably portion size to fill any human being. Very fair pricing and comes with lettuce tomatoes steak and cheese. I'm absolutely satisfied with the quality of taste for its cost. I would definitely recommend trying here before another place in the DuPage County. Today's review it's more based on proportion so there's not much to say you can't already be said about steak cheese lettuce tomatoes. When I opened my order I truly said wow out loud. I got ground beef nachos and quesa birria tacos. The tacos were wonderful, the meat tasted like it was cooked just perfect. The nachos were the star of the show, you get so much nachos that you'll have enough to share with a group of people or save for leftovers. Will be 100% ordering again from this place. I received a gift today. The greatest gift one human being can give another human being, in fact. No, not the gift of life -- but not that far off either. The gift.... of TACOS!!! I've been trying to cut back on the calories for this whole biggest loser New Years kick that everybody, including myself, is on. But today I cut loose a little in honor of this extraordinary gift and because yesterday all I had was coffee and an entire crate of clementines (gotta keep the coif all vibrant and citrus-like). Now, this wasn't my first tango with El Burrito Loco. This late night supposed drunk food joint is my usual pit stop when I arrive back from any out-of-town excursion and not just because it's the only thing, less a few 24 hour grocers, that's open after the red-eye touches down -- this place does actually offer some decent grub at a fair price with friendly service. Today I scarfed my 3 super stuffed veggie tacos down in record time. I felt like some sort of mongrel with all those spicy refried juices running down my fingers tips and pooling at the webbing between my knuckles. These tacos aren't for the faint of heart and you won't find EBL messing around with those crazy refried paste pumping "culinary" caulking guns that T-Bell uses. These are the real deal frijole-field sloppy sonuva gun tacos and you're gonna need more than a few friendly napkins to take on these bad boys. That, or be prepared for some major prune-hands after your fingers are nice and marinated from seeping salsa. (True story) El Burrito Loco isn't a stand-out favorite but they're open when you want them, need, them, and unfortunately are trying to avoid them. Since my 3 year old daughter asked for a Taco for lunch, I had to take her. I had a lots of nice tacos when I have a lunch at work but nothing close to my house. Luckily Candice had this place on her list so let's try it out. They have fish Tacos! I also got carnitas taco and a tamale. The fish taco is one piece of grilled tilapia fillet topped with chopped onions, cilantro, and a white fish sauce. I forgot to ask a plain one without sauce. So removed all the toppings. My daughter liked it! It was tasty and not breaded nor fried. A big win for mom. She also liked the cornmeal part of tamale as well. I totally agreed with her. Tamale was good but not exceptional. Carnitas taco was filled with meat but dry and greasy. Wish I could get the veggie taco but my veggie taco will not have onions, lettuce, rice, nor cheese. Don't know how good that would taste. Oh we also loved Horchata(rice water). My daughter refused to share with me and claimed that was HER milk. They don't have Jamaica drink though. The service was fine. I wonder why they don't have the table service. I don't mind paying tips so I could keep an eye on my daughter all the time. So we might go back for fish tacos and my daughter's milk. read more

I enjoy stopping in here for my Mexican food . If I am there for lunch I enjoy a toasted Torta (Mexican Sandwich) de Carne Asada and you must get some guacamole slice with it. Sometimes I accompany the sandwich with a side of fries and a nice large Horchata (Rice Water). Other fav's are the Carne Asada con Camarones (Shrimp) dinner or a big bowl of the Caldo de Res (soup). Since this place is also open late you can never go wrong with eating breakfast here after the bar. Order yourself a Huevos a la Mexicana, but watchout it can get spicy. Plenty of seating and perfect for a quick in and out fix. They do serve beer if you are a taco and Corona kind of person. read more

It's not the best Mexican food I've ever had (though I've had some AMAZING food)... but I'd go back for sure. Here the deal... I'm a vegetarian. I eat dairy, but I won't eat beans made with lard or rice made from animal stock. I'm weird like that. I emailed these folks to ask if they were vegetarian friendly, and I received an email within 3 minutes! The woman told me that their beans and rice are 100% vegetarian. She even went on to recommend an entree I might like, considering my diet. They have lots of vegetarian options. My husband was nervous about this place not being suitable for me considering how "hole in the wall" it looks. That usually means it's a small joint that almost always uses lard. I know this isn't a big deal for some... but from my experience... it's a big deal to me. There are actually, wait for it, Hispanics that eat there! That's a good sign. We probably saw about 25 people in there and we were nearly the only white people! You know you're doing something right when you're attracting real Hispanics to come eat at your Mexican food joint. That's like a real Italian coming to eat at Olive Garden. Wait. That doesn't happen. ;) It's chill inside and looks like a converted Taco Bell. This is also a big chain in the Chicagoland area-- something like 20+ stores. The prices are reasonable, but not super cheap... like Taco Bell prices. While I wasn't amazed, I wasn't disappointed, either. I'd go back and next time, I'm trying the guacamole. I've heard it's pretty fantastic. read more

Your standard burrito joint. The food is average here, doesn't hold a candle to my favorite, El Burrito Mexicano near the Addison red line stop! The menu is gigantic, I'll give them that! The prices are a little expensive compared to the average burrito place, but you get a lot of food! If you order the gigantic burrito you will receive a humongous portion of meat in that huge flour tortilla! I usually can scarf down two tacos and a burrito with ease, this burrito took more effort than I expected. The scenery is your typical diner layout with toy machines for kids to pass the time. I'll probably come back after I try the other Mexican places around me first. Updated review. I've been here a couple of more times. You have to try the tampiquena, it's fantastic! This place is definitely better than El Famous Burrito down the street. The customer service is average at best. No smiling here. I seriously have better conversations and assistance from the Home Depot, Office Max, and the Post Office down the street. One of my favorite cheap Mexican places! Always tastes good and is ways really Cheap to eat especially if you get one of their great coupons which never expire. When you want some cheap and quick and Mexican this is my number ones spot. I have a hard time getting anything besides a double steak burrito or a carne asana dinner with corn tortillas. Either way I am always satisfied and it always taste the same visit to visit. Another great option are the nachos which are loaded with melted Cheese and shredded cheese along with all the other usual toppings. They also serve menudo (stomach soup) every so often which is a must buy when they have it. When ordering on the website it gives you boxes to check based on what you want on your order. I checked tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, however there is an only box. I checked only as well to ensure they only put what I wanted and nothing more ex onions cilantro. When I got home my tacos had steak only. 14 steak only tacos. I called to get this resolved, the cashier explained when you check only the only thing you get is meat. I explained to her how the website gives you the only option along with everything else and it might help to add that info when checking only. Came here once with a friend who frequents this place. I didn't know where to start so I stayed in my comfort zone and ordered 2 tacos - carne asada and al pastor. They did not disappoint! These were huge tacos full of meat and got me very full! I also ordered horchata, which was quite disappointing... very watered down, doesn't have much of a taste to it, and overall just very gross.
