No eye contact, no conversation, just full commitment to the plate. The food is excellent. High quality, bold, and generous. The portions come out like full platters, not skimpy little plates. It's not cheap, not expensive, just right, and you actually feel like you got your money's worth. Both my friend and I ordered the lomo saltado, and for me, that's the standout. I hate to leave a negative review, but this has become a recurring issue. Every time we place a takeout order from Lima Limón, they never meet the estimated time they give us. It's very frustrating to be told 30 minutes, arrive on time, and then have to wait almost an extra hour. On top of that, the quality of the fried rice has declined significantly, and the portions have gotten noticeably smaller. It's disappointing because this place used to be really good. We used to recommend it to all our family and friends when they first opened, but unfortunately, things have changed a lot. We stumbled on to this restaurant and boy, we were glad that happened because the food is DELICIOUS!! We came on a Saturday around lunch time, got seated right away. The spices were perfect on it, making it delicious every bite along with the pickled red onion and sweet potatoes which were perfectly cooked! 2 Lima Saltado (#45): 4/5! It would have been a 5/5 had the meat been a little tender. It was cooked well and NY strip can be a little chewy when cooked too well. The flavors of the dish is delicious! Also the red chili sauce was the best! We put that on our food and it enhances the flavors even more. We cleaned our plates and had a little room for some Peruvian ice cream (Helado Lucma). Very disappointed from this place. It used to be the place to go for Peruvian food but not anymore. I am familiar with Peruvian cuisine because my wife is Peruvian. Last time we were there I ordered tallarin à la huancaina with chicken. I showed the server exactly what I wanted and my wife explained to him in Spanish and my wife ordered jalea. He brought tallarin verde with chicken when I told him this is not what I ordered both in English and my wife in Spanish he replied rudely no I asked to speak to manager and when I explained to him what happened instead of fixing the problem he brought a small plate of tallarin a la huancaina and told me to take the chicken from other plate which was already cold and mixed with green sauce and put it on top!!! I didn't want to make a scene because of my wife but what she could not eat her food because apparently the took the food out of refrigerator after few days and tasted old and clearly refrigerated food taste. Funny thing is at the end they charged me for other small plate and no apology or accommodation for their mess. I sent many people to that restaurant and now I regret it. Talk about a classic and very yummy Peruvian eatery in the LV! We come here on each visit and this time around not only was the food on par but they did some renovation work. Their menu is quite large and we've had numerous dishes but each time we go we learn about something new. This time it was the Arroz Chaufa de Mariscos "seafood fried rice" (number 28 on the menu) which was loaded with shrimp, squid and fish and the nice "wok hei" flavor. Some of our other must haves are the Chicharron de calamar (number 6) that is a deep fried calamari mixed in with fried yucca and tartar sauce. Another go to dish OK it comes in an oversized cocktail glass is the Leche de Tigre Ceviche that you can order as medium spicy in an orange colored sauce or spicy in a green sauce (number 22) loaded with coastal seafood marinated in a tangy lime sauce, cilantro and Peruvian chiles. Lastly we had the Super Lomo served on a sizzling platter and loaded with tender steak pieces, French fries, red and green bell peppers and red onions (number 16). The sauce is to die for and can be added into a side of white rice too. I just love all the numerous finds you can find off the strip and at a reasonable price point! Our server was great and gave us some pointers for our order and he kept coming back to make sure everything was good.
