Checked out Mi Carboncito Peruvian Food recently. I ordered the lomo saltado, ceviche pescado, chicharrón chicken, and roasted chicken. The portions were huge, which I definitely appreciated, but overall the food was lacking flavor. Almost everything needed more salt. The lomo saltado was decent but didn't have the bold flavor I was expecting. The ceviche pescado also tasted a little flat. The chicharrón chicken could've used more seasoning and probably should've been double fried for better texture and crispiness. Same with the roasted chicken , juicy enough, but it really needed salt. The bright spot was the sides and sauces. The red onions were really good, and the sauces added a lot more flavor to the meal. When you combined the chicken, onions, and sauces together, it made for a really good bite. Service was excellent throughout the visit, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, it was decent, but not the best Peruvian food I've had. I'm not sure if I'd to back but maybe it was a off day for the chef. read more

We weren't in the mood for anything heavy, so we ordered seafood, mariscos saltado and a quarter chicken. Everything was really good. The sauces were a standout, especially the aji verde, house sauce, and huancaína. The yuca fries were perfectly addictive. A little pricey at $15 for a handful, but tasty. The mariscos saltado was $26 and a HUGE portion. As many of you know, Peruvian food has strong Chinese influences and saltado is that classic stir-fried, savory combo. We saw this place on bulletheads (las Vegas food reviewer) and had to be in the area so we gave it a try last night! My son and I were in the neighborhood. We've never had Peruvian food and were delighted to try something new. We got there at opening, and were immediately greeted by our waiter. He was so helpful and knowledgeable, and proud of the food they serve. We were very impressed with his service, knowledge and willingness to explain the menu. Our server recommended his favorite, and my son and I both went with that. The amount of food on our plates was so much!! And the leftovers are just as good as eating in the restaurant. My parents just returned from Peru and were craving Peruvian cuisine. As soon as we stepped into Mi Carboncito, they felt like they were transported back to Lima. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the newspapers to the videos playing on the TVs, the ambiance felt as authentic as it gets.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was exceptional! We ordered the Ceviche Mixto, Pollo Entero (whole chicken), Loma Saltado, Inca kola, and Chicha Morada (purple corn drink). The chicken, of course, was the star of the show but everything was delicious!! Even though I personally haven't visited Peru, I could tell that this was the real deal. I ordered this food delivered and the good news was the delivery was quick. The bad news was the food itself was very tasteless. I had one of their appetizers, which was french fries topped with sliced sausages. The french fries were soggy and soft, and the sausage tasted like something you would buy in the grocery store. It was OK but nothing special. I bought chicken and for the price I thought I was going to get like a half baked chicken or something but instead it was like breaded nuggets and again very bland tasting not seasoned very much like something they bought already breaded. The third dish I ordered was fried rice... yes I was surprised to that this was a Peruvian specialty? I was curious to see what was unique in it, but it came and turned out to be just basic fried rice then you might get it in standard Chinese restaurant. The strange thing with that is the chicken was kind of dry. there was a 40% discount. I got ordering it through Amazon and now I can probably guess why that restaurant had such a big discount because if I paid their full prices, I would've probably been very upset with the quality. I would hope that they might try to add some kind of special flare two notches the taste, but even the description of their dishes they're presenting. Unfortunately, as much as I don't like to do this, I will not recommend this restaurant and I will not be ordering a second time. I hope they fix things. read more

The food was good. We ordered a pollo salado and tallarín saltado we really enjoy the food. It was a little bit on the greasy side, but the portions were very generous and great flavor maybe a little bit on the watery side but ok overall. Tallarin Saltado de Carne o Pollo ($23) - Spaghetti with Sauce. Beef, Onions and Tomatoes. Interesting menu item but was good. 3. Purple corn drink - very sweet 4. Yucca fries - these are pretty good, inside could've been a little bit softer. Outside was the right amount of crisp and the sauces on the side were good too. The two main dishes seemed to have Asian stir fry undertones like soy sauce and ginger flavor (respectively) which I personally liked - reminded me of home cooking. I would come back. Mi Carboncito Peruvian Food is a small casual Peruvian Restaurant with wait service. This isn't a fancy place but it seems clean. Soft beverages are served here. I ordered the #27 (steamed fish) but for some reason they served me the #26 Fried fish. I didn't feel like complaining so I just accepted it. For fried fish it was very good. It was fried nice and light and seemed free of oil. It also seemed like a better quality than just a frozen fish. It was very tasty with the house sauces they gave us that were very good. This plate also came with Peruvian onions and sticky rice. My husband tried the Picante de Camarines (shrimp in spicy sauce). It was mostly small shrimp but they were prepared well in a delicious spicy yellow sauce with sticky rice on the side. The food was reasonably good. Not sure if language is a slight barrier here. So a little back story our family used to visit a Peruvian restaurant but about 2 years ago they closed it and since then we've been looking for a new place. Today we visited this hidden gem! From the moment we came in our waitress was very helpful and nice! We also got the Yuca Fry appetizers. Everything came out hot literally with steam coming off it and the Portions were generous. At first we looked at the menu and thought the prices were a bit high for the dishes but honestly well worth it. The most amazing Peruvian food in vegas. It's a small diner but it comes with excellent food and service. With only a one week notice, I was able to do a party for my dad. The owner even made different dishes for me to make sure everyone was satisfied. Some of my kids even dived into trying new things. My Peruvian side of the family were very happy with how authentic it was. The rest of the my family were satisfied with all the flavors. This is a truly underrated hidden gem in Las Vegas. Saw it through a tik tok video on vegas hidden gems and it did not disappoint. Family owned hole in the wall, Javier was absolutely awesome with the customer service, attentive, friendly and welcoming. The food was incredible! Everything was seasoned to perfection, the flavors were balanced and delicious! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, their green Serrano sauce went well with it and was spicy! The salad was perfect, the beans were delicious. The rice was cooked perfectly and the saltado was delicious. The food came out quick and delicious, the server was super nice and knowledgeable as it was our first time trying this restaurant out and Peruvian food in general. It considered very hole in the wall/ mom&pop but I swear they make the best meals. Tried out the half chicken and lomo saltado and it was so good.only thing I wish we ordered more fries as the sides for the saltado. The sizes are family portions and could easily feed up to a small family of 2-4. My friends and I are always hungry so we easily demolished our plates. The sauce it came with was a bit on the waterier side, but still good. Not a five star because the Maracuya (passion fruit) did not taste fresh or authentic. It tasted like a powdered drink.
