We entered this restaurant and were warmly greeted by our server, Metzly. Her friendly demeanor put us at ease. As we browsed the menu, we couldn't resist ordering everything. She kindly informed us that we could order half of our desired items. The mango margarita was a refreshing twist on the classic, made with wine instead of tequila. I opted for the pulpo parillado, and I was delighted to learn that I could add grilled shrimp with garlic and butter to my dish. This place is excellent! I had the large shrimp cocktail which I shared with my wife, it was delicious and had a good ratio of shrimp to avocado and vegetables. They gave us chips and salsa for the table, the salsa tasted fresh and was very yummy. I also had oysters for the first time, a scary experience, but they tasted so fresh it was amazing. The service was wonderful, my mom only speaks Spanish so it was nice to have such a helpful, friendly server who could make conversation with the whole table. The server was so good at explaining the dishes and even gave great recommendations. The place was empty, which has never scared me away from trying a restaurant, but they had good music, comfortable chairs, and even outdoor seating. We came here for a late lunch and we were greeted immediately by friendly staff. We received complimentary chips and salsa. The chips had the perfect crunch and the salsa was fresh and spicy, yum! We ordered the garlic shrimp and Diablo shrimp entrees. They each came with rice, beans, and salad. The shrimp in each dish was cooked perfectly and each were delicious! I ordered the camarones bravos, a taco governador and tried a taco de pescado. The shrimps were tasty and spicy. They had some bell peppers and Serranos in the sauce giving it a great kick. The rice and beans were a great compliment, both flavorful. The fish taco was crispy and the sauce that came on it was great. The governador taco was ok, Ilthe 2 tortillas felt a bit heavy and it lacked some cheese. I wasn't a fan of the sauce they served with it either. Overall, great spot! read more

This place has the most amazing seafood! There are so many unique dishes to try that it's hard to narrow it down. The high quality of food and the flavorful combinations are made with so many different seasonings and salts, it's hard to compare it to other seafood dishes. Everything had a good balance between and nothing was unsatisfactory. The service was amazing,and we were very surprise to see such an attentive owner in manager. She checked on us frequently but not in an annoying way. You could tell that she really enjoys interacting with the patrons of the restaurant. I love the ocean theme and the colors chosen are very inviting and it looks as if the owners have a rich history. The interior is clean, the service was kind, and the owner checked in on us multiple times. Things that could use some improvement: -The waitress only talking to my brown friend in Spanish, while I was talking to her in Spanish and he barely knows any. Weird colorist energy. -The ceviche was mediocre. I had to use a lot of salt. Lacked seasoning. -I was hoping to get a bowl of ceviche and sides of tostadas, like most places I've been to in Mexico. Mainly to avoid the tostadas getting soggy, which they eventually did. -I asked for mayonnaise to be put on my tostadas because that's how we do it where I'm from. She offered to bring it on the side but not put it on the tostadas, making me do it. The dishes aren't very customizable to your taste. -I had to ask for water refills. Not very attentive. Highlights: -Fairly authentic. -All of the music was straight from my playlist. -The chicharrones de pescado were good, and the salsa that came with them too. -Lengthy menu with vegetarian options. read more

The waitress stopped by and took drink orders, they have giant Modelos, with frosty glasses, yay. We started the order with appetizers; Oysters Exoticos, and Garlic Shrimp. Both were very good, but the shrimp did not arrive until all the entrees were served. From there we had Fajitas, Molcajete, Tostadas, a dish with chicken, beef, and shrimp (can't remember the name), and a kids quesadilla. All were piping hot, fresh, and tasty. Their toxico salsa packs a punch. The service was excellent. The waitress was friendly, prompt and professional. Refills were quick and plates were cleared efficiently. Mariscos El Ancla is a good Mexican Seafood Restaurant with wait service located in the NW part of Las Vegas on Craig Road. It's not a fancy place but seems clean. Limited alcohol is served here. They start you off with complimentary chips and really good very spicy salsa. We started off by sharing a Marlin Taco. The Marlin Taco was OUTSTANDING! I haven't tasted a marlin taco this great since my last trip to Mexico. I tried plenty marlin tacos at various Mexican Restaurants in Phoenix and none of them compares to this one. This is the real deal. The marlin taste like marlin and the sauce taste just like what you get in Mexico. It's also a nice big generous taco. For dinner I tried the Salmon a la Piancha. I received a generous portion of salmon that was prepared reasonably well. This plate was good. It just didn't have much going on with it and needs some embellishment. My husband tried a medium spicy shrimp dinner (Camarones Bravos). He received a generous amount of whole shrimp with shells in a tasty medium spicy red sauce. This dish was good but it was a problem to eat because it was very hard to clean the digestive track and shrimp shells in the sauce. Maybe some people don't mind eating the digestive track and shells? Because of this I would say that the shrimp dishes are not for every one out there. This dish also comes with rice and beans that was forgotten but served quickly once it was mentioned to our server. The marlin tacos here are outstanding. Ambiance is chill, they play soccer games on the TV's. It was nice to find a solid mariscos spot a short trek from home in the Northwest. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and seated. The place looks new with fresh paint and cute nautical decor. We were not super hungry but ordered an aguachiles tostada, shrimp and asada tacos, along with our drinks. The food came promptly and was fresh. My husband said that was one of the best shrimp tacos he has ever had! Bonus points for the home made tortillas. The Modelo Negras were ice cold, and my cerveza preparada (mango and Modelo Negra) was tasty and refreshing. They add plenty of fresh cut mango to the beer and it was just sweet enough. We ordered the aguachile Verde that usually is spicy, but it was mild but very tasty and freshing. The shrimp Mexicana was so flavorful. The spiciness was a bit surprising but tolerable. It was karaoke night apparently which no one told us until we were seated right behind it. If we would have informed that it was karate night, we would have asked to be seated far away.
