I always come to this plaza for dim sum (shout out to Mai Dim Sum), but never thought to stop by this place for some reason until a friend's recommendation. I ordered a full chicken with 3 sides- coleslaw, yucca fries, and fried sweet plantains. The chicken comes with two different sauces, both of which are mayo based. One seemed like a honey mustard and the other one was green (not sure what it was). Man, the chicken was finger licking good. I can tell by how good a restaurant is by their chicken breast and it was so juicy and moist. The sides, however, were lackluster and I would not recommend the coleslaw nor the yucca fries. This is a great local spot to eat or get take out. The charbroiled chicken is amazing always flavorful and plenty of sides to choose from. I really like plantains and they always taste great here! The tacos are made with fresh corn tortillas, fish tacos were really flavorful. The employees are always friendly and they have the food ready quickly. In my initial review of limas chicken. I was not impressed. I had just moved to the area, and had been a long time patron at another Peruvian chicken spot. When I saw limas for the first time I was excited at the possibility of having a new spot that I could frequent, but after my first visit i wasn't really feeling the food here. I just recently gave Limas another try and I would like to state that they have really improved. The service and staff was never an issue. The past three years this location has messed up my moms order and overcharged her. They barely honor the military discount. The chicken is either under cooked or salty each time she goes here. The rice isn't cooked all the way. I think they have a cheaper brand now. It never tasteful if you have to reheat it. The mixed vegetables are taste like it's coasted with wax or under cooked coating, hard when you bite in to it. When we mention the order is wrong or the food is under cooked; especially salty the lady manager gets an attitude and wants your to drive back across town for her to look at it before agreeing to fix the order or give the correct change back. Oh my gosh!! I love Peruvian food and this place is a serious palate pleaser!!! I really love this place and could eat here several times a week. Seriously. The charbroiled chicken is very flavorful throughout, the seasoning isn't just on the outside. I've been to this place more than I can count over the last 3 years. Quality control and management seem to have become issues within the past year. The food is still pretty good for the most part, but largely seems to depend on which crew of employees you're getting now. Portion sizes are always ample. On my last visit I placed an online order for pickup, arrived at the drive through window, and was completely ignored. Went inside, and my order was nowhere to be found. Asked the young lady at the counter about my order who in turned asked another employee.....and that was the last I heard about that for 20 minutes. While waiting I decided to just walk through the short line of 3 people to get my order processed. Once I got back to the cashier I showed her that I paid online. She then again asked other employees about my order, which someone had apparently made in the meantime and informed no one. An hour later I was at home eating my dry chicken. Was it worth it? The small side of plantains was good-sized and delicious. The chicken was moist but had virtually no flavor. Most Peruvian rotisserie chicken has herbs and spices that make it totally delicious. Over the past year+ though they've somehow successfully been able to reduce portion sizes on their peruvian dishes, lower the quality, and raise the prices $2-3. Sorely disappointed. Specifically, the lomo saltado; It used to be well portioned but now its drowned out by rice and fries. Raising prices is one thing, but lowering the quality and quantity with it is just low. Limas used to be my favorite place to eat. However, the last two times has been a huge disappointment. The first time, my husband and I, stood in line for 30 minutes without it moving causing us to walk out. The second time as the worker was making my food, I saw the most unbelievable thing. I saw rows of raw chicken on the rotisserie rods on the floor uncovered! Furthermore, my husband and I proceeded to eat there despite what we saw. It's a complete shame that I hadn't come here until now, especially since I'm moving in 3 weeks! MUST GET THE YELLOW SAUCE. I don't know the proper name for it, but just ask for it. It's completely amazing!!!!!!!! My husband and our friends went here Friday night to get some food and I honestly had no idea what to order, everything looked so good. My husband ordered the steak burrito (which he said was absolutely amazing) and I got the fish tacos, one with mango salsa and the other with chipotle sauce - suggestion of the guy taking my order since I couldn't decide. Our order was finished pretty quickly and we took it home. OH MY GOSH the fish tacos were so good, AND even better with the yellow sauce right on top (totally used a whole plastic container for each taco). The green sauce had a little kick to it so I used only a little bit (1/4 of the container). I didn't care too much for the mango chunks so I took them off, but the sweet sauce left on top was perfection. The chipotle sauce had it's own kind of bite to it as well, but still went awesome with the yellow sauce. Overall, the food was delicious and the tacos are decently sized. I recently visited the Hanover, MD location and ordered 2 chicken dinners. At the time, they only had white meat, so I ordered two 1/4 white chicken dinners. I paid around $23 dollars for the 2 dinners but later noticed that there was an additional $5 dollar charge on my credit card. Initially, I assumed it was a mistake but when my credit card statement reconciled there was a $28 dollar charge from Lima's Chicken. I ran this past a couple co-workers and they remarked that this is not the first time hearing this about this location.
