The reason I'm writing this review is because in the past month, I've noticed that they are severely slow. So slow to the point where I had to walk my behind out of there to spare myself a 15-20 minute wait just to get to the register. Mind you, I've worked in customer/food service in the past so I know how it is to be a customer and how it is to be an employee. With that said, I can guarantee you that I am not impatient right off the bat. But the employees just move so slow! All of the chicken and sides are prepared already. So I'm always confused as to why it takes 10 minutes to get through 2 customers who all ordered chicken and sides? I just don't understand lmao. There was no A/C or ventilation inside the restaurant. I opted for the 1/4 dark with sides of cilantro rice and plantains. The cilantro rice was very good and the plantains were a little crispier than I like but were tasty as well. Out of curiosity, I asked about their military discounts. The cashier said if you spend $25 or more you get a discount. Um, okay. A bit much to ask of someone especially when the majority of people are purchasing lunch for themselves and a buddy. I could see it as beneficial if ordering for the office and if hosting a lunch there. To each their own. I'm unsure of how long this Lima's has been open but it was basic decoration and limited staff maintaining the dining area and tending to the line snaking out of the door. There was taste there, but not enough. - Bistec a lo pobre: The steak was tender and tasty, yes, but the egg was over-done and the plantains (we got plantains) were a tad on the over greasy side. *Most people here order a salad or burrito. *Dessert fridge was very bare (there was one item in there and they had just opened) Place was clean, food was delivered quickly, people were friendly, but price is steep in comparison to quality and quantity. Lima's Chicken is delicious and the sides are very good served in large portions. I especially like the chicken because it is so tasty. I have tried also the burrito in a bowl and it was loaded chicken, rice and vegetables really delicious. My first reaction was okay it's in the old friendly's restaurant and it was confusing on how to order or where to go. When I located the menu above the food station, it was fine from there, and I ordered chicken caesar salad & steak/rice over fries. After ordering mine was made fresh since it wasn't available on the line. The food station is similar to chipotle. The food here is delicious. The sauces and condiments are all made in-house and add just the right amount of flavor to food that's cooked perfectly. Staff is friendly and patient while you look over the menu and decide what you'd like. Very supportive of the local military community. I gave this place three stars because of the poor decor and mainly because the staff bring their children to work. These aren't teenagers helping out in the kitchen. These are kids! Kids around the ages of 7-11, running around the restaurant, in and out of the kitchen. It's annoying to the guest. I understand there are circumstances that may prevent someone affording childcare, but at least make sure your kids are well behaved if you're going to bring them to work. We came here for a team lunch yesterday, and by far the best lunch option we've had during our time here in the past few months. Upon entry, the aroma of delicious spices hits you from every direction. The line was fairly long, but their process is very efficient in how they take orders and assign numbers. I went with the half all white meat chicken, green beans, black beans, and roasted veggies. The chicken was extremely tender and moist, just falling off the bone. I didn't need any sauce as it was already so moist and flavorful. The beans were fresh and the veggies were pretty standard, but complemented the meal well. This location must've been located near an army base, as half the customers were in military uniforms. It's been a couple months since I have eaten here and was pleased to see their new menu and drink additions. The creamy light cinnamon taste of horchata pairs well with any kind of spicy food. However this one was missing the sprinkles of cinnamon and tasted like a chalky plain powdered drink that was mixed with water. There was no trace of the cinnamon I've come to know and stir in my drink at the bottom of my cup. I ordered the carne asada and it tasted plane. I didn't remember it tasting like that before. Let me begin with: Employees, please wear hair nets, if you are working with food this is a must and that includes gloves and stay in only one station, food is food and do not touch food if you will be working with money. Keep the dinner area clean, I saw at least 4 flies, even I saw flies in the food line. Food was just ok, cold, no fresh, the yuca fries were a little over cooked. The arroz chaufa (Peruvian fried rice) no at all appetizing. I guess you have to order fresh food for them to make it right at the moment. Also, if you are cleaning the rotisserie oven from the outside why there is chicken turning around inside and the dirty water falling inside the oven. Has tv but no working. Love this place! First time coming to this establishment and my goodness I walk away leaving a 5 star rating. Fresh charbroiled chicken that is cut right in front of you; I ended up getting the dark meat. Fresh veggies as for me the string beans became my french fries. However, the thing that made this meal memorable was not the plantains (still fantastic) it is the yellow sauce. This sauce is Lima's thing and I think that is why people keep coming back. I used to come here all the time when they first opened but every time I go now I seem to have a worse experience. Most of the employees are pleasant but do not wear a mask which amid Covid is a concern. Also the last time I went they got my order mixed up moving entirely too fast because they were moderately busy and the manager came at me with a less than pleasant attitude when I clarified my order. That was my last straw and now I will never return to Limas at this location. Sardis has the same menu and MUCH better quality food and tends to operate pleasant even when busy. Food is great but portions varies drastically depending on server which is disappointing. Expect hidden charges that that racks up and doesn't makes sense. For example: If you want an endless amount of sour cream on the meal it's free but if you want it on the side it's $.75 (same for any condiment). Servers does not communicate up charges well.
