One of the only places in Miami that has the crunch. Really wasn't paying attention, but today was Veteran's Day. They had a Veteran's Day deal where i got free lunch - three tacos and a drink. FREE. For Veterans. Lime rocks so hard for that. That is so friggen cool. But know what's cooler ? I also got a Lime "challenge coin" and on EVERY 11th of EVERY month i can show the coin and get three tacos and a drink. That blew me away. No place treats veterans that way- 10% here, a free donut, coffe over there, but not like Lime. Man, I Salute you Mr. Lime. This place was not my fave. I hadn't been back in about over 7 years. I figured if this place is still standing, people must like it. I got a bowl with shrimp and another with chicken. It was fine. I think what I really didn't like was the rice - so sticky. Mexican rice should not be sticky. The chips also lacked that crunch and fresh flavor profile. I came here for Cinco de Mayo with some friends to celebrate. There was live music and more tables than usual set up on the street. There was a long line to place our order. I'm not sure why as it was not that full. I wanted to order the mahi mahi taco but it was sold out. Mind you, we arrived at 6 pm, which is early to sell out. Instead I had the OG steak taco, shrimp taco and the carne asada taco. They were good. The chips that it comes with were crispy. I love how lime has a variety of sauces for you to grab. The food was done relatively fast and the staff picked up our table relatively fast as well. While we were there we had anticipated to receive giveaways, since that was advertised, but we did not. Overall, it was great but I find Lime to be a bit overpriced. The only taco special they had is when you order 3 tacos, you save $1.5. They did have Coronas for $3 for Cinco de Mayo. As always Lime never disappoints! You wanna eat good and not expensive, Lime is the go to. Not your typical Mexican cuisine but a lot better that others well known "Mexican" fast food joints. Fresh salsas, fresh chips, fresh queso dip! My go to here is the Lime Burrito, flautas and of course a variety of tacos, chicken, fish and or beef. This lime fresh is located in downtown Dadeland with convenient garage parking that is free after they validate it. It has plenty of seating both inside and outside. The staff is always so welcoming and very nice. Patient to help me build my veggie burrito from all of the available toppings. They really stuff the burrito and press it to perfection I love the bit of crunch down the middle of the entire burrito when I take a bite. The chips were nice a warm and crunchy. My wife went out for lunch with her sister and decided to go to Lime which is one of the main competitors of Chipotle's. She decided to order a steak bowl for us to share since she had to leave. The bowl included tiny bits of steak, beans, salsa, onions, and the base was rice. For me the taste was very bland and there were moments I couldn't tell if I was eating tiny steak bites or black bean. We came to eat at lime because my kids school once a month has something called DFEats which part of the proceeds go to their school. Being someone who lived in Mexico for a year in Guadalajara I can assure you this is not authentic Mexican food nor Tacos. They are more of the American version, so you won't find Tacos Al Pastor, or carnitas etc etc. Now after getting that out of the way this is what I would call fast food "Mexican Food" a bit higher end than Taco Bell. I thought the food was good keeping in mind it's not true Mexican cuisine. We started off with the flautas which were chicken based and came with a tasty sauce. They were crunchy and not very oily. I ordered a shrimp taco, a beef Gringo taco,and two regular ground beef taco. They were all good. My wife got a shrimp, pork and fish taco. She said she liked the shrimp taco, but thought the pork and fish tacos were OK. My son got a pork taco which he ate it all as well as one of the flautas. My daughter ate two regular ground beef tacos which she enjoyed as well. One little tip, if you check in on Yelp, you get a choice of a free item. I chose the cinnamon chips which came with whip cream. I love cinnamon so you can imagine I really enjoyed it. Another nice touch is they have a free salsa bar because all the tacos come with chips. Oh, and all the tacos came mixed. They didn't separate my tacos from my wives and kids. When they place the order on their computer it doesn't separate by person so get ready to do it your self when they arrive.....not a big deal. To drink my wife and I got strawberry margaritas which were strong. They don't skimp out on the tequila which is nice. They also have beer and soda fountain as well as Mexican sodas (Jarrita). The service was very good. The woman who took our order was very sweet and there were two other women working that kept checking on us to see if we needed anything which I found was great, not being a restaurant you really don't expect that. The place looks clean and simply decorated with messages written on the wall. Overall I was happy with the meal. Ehhhh Ive had better. Went on October 4th National Taco Day to see if they had any free tacos but unfortunately they didn't! I thought to myself "Wow, not even a free guac?" But then when I checked in on Yelp I did get a check-in offer. My son ordered the Carne Asada which he thought was good. I on the other hand, ordered meatless nachos! For some reason by the time We got home the cheese had melted but in a consistency that looked more like melted plastic. It was really gross and inedible so I picked off the most cheese I could and ate around the rest of the chips! It was a total L for me last night's dinner! I would never order them nachos again...ever! They were so gross looking it started making me think, is this what's going to happen to my arteries? So no bueno at all!! Lime Fresh Mexican Grill is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant on South Beach. For starters, the outside patio is a vibe, beautiful greenery, nice decor, and great music. In addition, the staff and customer service is amazing. Our server Ezekiel explained the menu in detail and provided us with excellent recommendations. He went above and beyond to make sure our experience was memorable. We ordered everything from fish and shrimp tacos, beef tacos, to fajitas. All the food was fresh and made to order. My favorite was the large selection of sauces, salsas, and pick de gallo. Most importantly, the frozen margaritas were delicious, definitely the best I had while visiting south beach. My family is not crazy for Mexican food, but I am. I was at a conference at the Dadeland Marriot and our group went seeking lunch. One person chose Lime. It's easy to order and the food is delivered quickly and fresh. Everyone else chose to go with tacos; I splurged with the fajitas. They were really good for this type of restaurant. The meat was well seasoned and tender. Lots of tortillas (actually they could use a larger size tortilla). A good serving of cheese, chopped lettuce, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Perhaps the sauces on the side were full because we came early in lunch hour - they added to the fajitas. I tasted one of my group's key lime pie. Very nice. She also bought churros for everyone. The worst burrito I have eaten recently. I ordered via Ubereats the Big Cali Burrito $15.60) and the Carne Asada Burrito ($16.90). What I received was trash. Tiny non-filling burritos made with dry rice, a little of black beans, cheese and meat. I had to put some hot sauce to down it. I could not order any sauce on the side via the app. They definitely need to train the person making burritos. For that price there are other choices. I used to order from lime all the time and I loved it, but yesterday(on Uber eats) I ordered an burrito with chicken(8st burrito) and I took two big bites out of it and then I looked at a piece of chicken and it was completely raw so then I started to look through all the other pieces of chicken and they were also raw! Went here for the first time. First, I want to say excellent customer service, and friendly staff. They also let you fill up your own salsas from the salsa bar which is nice. However, I have never in my life received a more stingy portion quesadilla for almost 11$. I ordered the large size, and there was so little cheese in it, and about the same amount of chicken that a chicken bowl at chipotle has. My issue is not with the amount of chicken but the pathetic amount of cheese. When I opened it up to look, it was relatively easy to open because of how little cheese there was in it. Don't go here if you want a chicken quesadilla, because this was one of the worst ones ive ever had in terms of portion size. Will never come back to this restaurant despite the great customer service, it felt like a total rip off. Also, I agree with nick's review about the chips. Pretty stale. read more
