We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in that a friendly waitress guided us through their menu in very good English. We were prepared for a bit of a language challenge (not that I am complaining, if I want to order my food with ease in English, I know plenty of places I can go to) so it was a relief. The tacos are, needless to say, authentic Mexican style, on homemade tortilla, with cilantro, onion, and radish for some crunch. They only have 4 varieties and I wish there are more options, like lengua. The gordita is so flavorful with a bit of meat and crema. We also tried a dish of rice, beans and some pork in salsa verde. The food doesn't taste spicy - it doesn't burn my tongue - but they do have some sneaky heat that have me sweating in the end! Lots of Jarritos to choose from. They also have some grocery items like snacks for sale.

Super hole in the wall.. but incredibly delicious. The service is very friendly & the food is super quick!!! Tried the carne asada tacos, very flavorful & very generous serving of carne. Super chunky pieces of lime. It's cool to see how they make the tortillas in house!

Besides being a hole in the wall restaurant I think their food is delicious, they are most famous for their Mexican traditional tacos. If you haven't tried it I suggest you come by i promise you you will not be disappointed. The restaurant is very small and not very well kept so if you like a fancy restaurant this is not the place for you! there is workers there that are dressed dirty from working hard and are there enjoying a "feels like home" cooked meal so I don't judge or give them ugly faces.

Raw.....culturally Raw. If you plan to walk in with the typical miami, pretentious attitude, don't. Please stay away! This place is not for you! If you don't mind fighting flies, or sucking delicate pork meat and fat off of cartilage, or drinking lukewarm tamarind flavored Mexican sodas, then maybe this place is for you. You need to have an open mind and heart and understand that the people here, both customers and employees are genuine and not ruined by you Miamians. It is perfectly tucked far away enough to protect it from all of you. This place serves the people that help serve Miami it's food. Yes, laborers, field workers, cooks, the people that can only afford to live and work out here. The food is hearty, filling, and made with love and care by the people that work here. If you can handle a little trip to Mexico and enjoy it's true culture, then maybe this place is for you. In the meantime, don't waste time giving this place anything less than 5 stars. No one cares about your opinion on its issues or shortcomings, you come here for real food from real people. If you want to share more about this cultural gem, then I'm all ears. Otherwise, no thanks.... For your info: Open daily from 8am to around 9pm. There is no sign, it blew away in the hurricane, it's next to the bakery.

REAL REAL! Great authentic flavors. Al Pastor tacos is what I eat. The homemade hot sauce is killer great taste. They serve on homemade corn tortillas. This place is pumping out orders all day. Take home a 2lb pack of tortillas while you at it. Have not tried the other dishes but they look legit

By far one of the most authentic Mexican hole in the walls near homestead. If you're into fine dining, fair warning, this is not for you. I got 5 tacos (3 al pastor, 1 barbacoa, and 1 carne asada (portion control, I know lol) and 2 pounds of fresh tortillas for the family (they're the bomb dot com) all for 17 bucks. Completely worth it and a must for taco Tuesdays. Each taco comes with cilantro and white onion, and if I'm not mistaken radicchio cut in halves. They're sauces tho! The red one (idk what's it called) is spicy but one you can tolerate. And the crema sauce which is a requirement on each taco.

Hole in the wall. Food on display that you gave to pick from to be served was sitting there for hours. Taste was horrible.

We went here between January 27 & February 6/2026. La Potranca has five Florida locations, but this cantina does not feel like a chain. Authentic sabor Mexicano with an excellent friendly staff. Family friendly & handi-able accesible from the parking lot. This location gets full by 7pm but there is extended service & seating in the common covered courtyard. Plenty of parking in this strip mall location. Service is excellent, fast, & great choices of tacos & drinks. You can choose from 14 different meats/cuts for your tacos, including birria & al pastor. Bow to the taco! Also gringas, vampiros, & burritos. They have bowls (they're BIG) & brunch. p.s. try the churros with 3 dipping sauces. Drinks are extra special here. The clamato & beer cocktail is very unique. Served in a Tajin rimmed large mug, with lime & a tamarind wrapped straw. Excellante! Also a variety of margaritas served in whimsical glasses & their three house cervazas (beers) on draft. La Potranca pays homage to iconic singer & actor Vincente Fernandez "King of Ranchera". Check out the interesting connection with the staff or online. The staff here is excellent. Very helpful when navigating the menu. Very friendly. True professionals. Special shout out to Mauricio & Ralphael - you hombres make this place truly special. Mucho Gracias. We give La Potranca our highest recommendation. The hardest part about dining here was deciding what I wanted to order. I could have ordered the entire menu it looked so good! Helpful tip... check out the menu and know what you're going to order before you get in line. Otherwise you're going to be pressured to order at the front of the line. When you walk in, you place your order and pay for it and take a table number. You need to find your own table. Our service was pretty quick, despite how busy the restaurant was. My cold brew was very good and a nice start to the meal. Our guacamole came next and it was nicely styled with pomegranate, cheese and cilantro on top. Yum! The real star of the show for me was this unassuming looking House Club Sandwich that was to die for. Seriously ... it was so good. I ordered mine without the ham, and it was divine! I wish i lived closer. I'm already dreaming of coming back. My son ordered some kind of short rib/beef burrito and it disappeared so quickly I didn't even get to snap a photo. This is a perfect spot to enjoy a great meal, I highly recommend it. One thing I can say is that it's on the pricey side. $113 lunch for 2 added up super fast but it was well worth it. I'll be dreaming of that sandwich til my next visit!

I ordered the mahi mahi tacos, and while they tasted ok, the portion size felt pretty small for the price. Overall, it came across as a bit overpriced for what you get. The service style is more casual and self-directed. You order and pay at the register, get a number, and then find your own seat while they bring the food out to you. Water is self-serve, and once you're done with your meal, you just head out. There's minimal interaction with staff, which might appeal to people who prefer a more low-key, independent dining experience or want a place to sit and work without being interrupted. That said, the service did not feel very friendly or welcoming. And personally, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

The music selection is fire though and I was jamming out the whole time while waiting for my food. I complimented them on the music selection and they mentioned the owner is dominican and puerto rican which explained the great music selection. I was helped out by Adrian and his service was helpful in finding what dishes to order. I took my food to go and it was piping hot, definitely made fresh to order which I enjoyed. The nachos were what I was most eager to try as they are all the rage on social media. They lived up to the hype and that nacho cheese is absolute gold. I love that it's served in a pizza box. It just makes it iconic. It travels well and everything was still hot when I got home. The Al Pastor taco was just okay, nothing to write home about but now the steak burrito was really really good. I love that they don't have rice in their burritos and instead replace it with potatoes, which is absolutely delicious. They give two different types of salsas with your order plus limes and the green salsa is unreal. Add it to everything for a flavor boost!
