I love this place..the staff is like family....i love the food i get mine with shrimp and of course Jasmine tea(hot) and Thai iced tea....

Went there earlier this evening for the first time to have our dinner. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, very cozy little restaurant with beautiful details in their decor and cleanliness. Our waitress Emily was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the food in their menu. We ordered fresh roll as our appetizer and it was good. For our entrees we both ordered two different kind of curry, Red and Green curry, both of them tasted incredibly good. Since I love Thai food I like trying different kind of Thai curries in different Thai restaurants and this is by far the BEST curry I've ever had! It just has the perfect balance of the creamy texture of coconut milk broth in their curries, flavour and spiciness that I could have this at any time of any day! We had ice cream with fried banana and mango sticky pudding for our desserts and they both are awesome! Excellent food, friendly staff, definitely worth a drive for a visit. I love Lime Leaf! I have been eating here for the last 7 years, and have loved every single thing I have ordered! My favorites are the sesame chicken and the pineapple fried rice with chicken. First visit- pricey for dinner Food was just bland. No real Thai taste. Atmosphere left little to be desired. One of the workers was very loud- conversation could be heard while he was on phone walking around restaurant and while he was talking to his friends at bar area. A bit overpriced, but ok Thai food. This restaurant takes itself a little too seriously because of its prime downtown location, but the food is decent. I had the Panang curry, and Thai iced tea. The staff was friendly, but they did forget about us several times throughout the night. Overall, nice for a late night Thai craving. read more

I've been here a couple times and really enjoy the food. I particularly like coming here for lunch. The price is reasonable and the service has always been good. I particularly also like that they have brown rice! One disappointment for me though is the dessert; quality could definitely be improved. The dessert isn't necessarily bad, but both times I've had dessert here it has been a let down. The other thing I would say is that the food could definitely be spicier. read more

We went to the Lime Leaf after reading some reviews. This place was awesome! The descriptions of the food on the menu, does not do the actual dish justice. The Volcano Beef was amazing as was the Garlic Shrimp and Scallops. But what was even more amazing was this thing called the Crab Pot. It was loaded with seafood and everyone in the restaraunt was like what in the world did you get? It smells so good. Smelled and tasted incredible. So go and have a great time. read more

Quality of food has deteriorated since the early days of this restaurant. Pineapple in the Masaman Curry??? The "complimentary" egg roll and soup were cold and bland. Masaman Curry was meh. I did find a single green pea in it raising the question of cross contamination in the kitchen. I'm from out of town here for work, and was pleasantly surprised to find such a gem in Spartanburg. Our server was the most attentive and hardworking man, from the moment we walked through the door. He had great suggestions and descriptions of food options and made us feel very welcome and excited to try the food. I ordered the spicy beef, which had the most amazing eggplant I've ever had within the dish. The brown rice that came with the meal was excellent, and the sliced steak was good quality beef, which I rarely find at Thai restaurants. Thank you, Lime Leaf! I will be back next time! read more

Our 2nd visit was disappointing. Service was just a little slow. No big deal. Ordered our food and we discussed the heat. Asked for jalapeño chicken to be toned down. Server said they could do that. Food was delivered quickly. He said "they toned it down by 2/3". The jalapeño chicken was inedibly hot and I LIKE hot foods. The server NEVER checked with us to ask how everything was. He was too busy fussing with the old lady at the next table. My wife said her food was a 4 out of 5. Mine was a 1 or lower. We won't go back. read more

I visited Lime Leaf for the first time last week and was very excited to give it a try as I have heard wonderful things, and Wofford College students are able to pay with "Terrier Bucks". The restaurant has a peaceful atmosphere; it felt very authentic like I was transported to a restaurant in Thailand right in downtown Sparkle City. I love Thai food, so began my order with the Tom Kha soup with Shrimp. This is my go-to soup however was a bit disappointed with the flavor. It had a very strong lime juice flavor overpowering the coconut which is usually delicately balanced. It was average at best, and I was disappointed were only 2 shrimp in the soup since I paid an extra $3 for them. Next I ordered the Pad-Thai noodles with chicken and was extremely disappointed. It was so bland and had absolutely no flavor; I could hardly touch them. Thankfully I had a kind waitress who nicely let me reorder my main course free of charge. This time I went with the Sesame Chicken which was much better- however for a lower price I could've walked down the street to Monsoon and had a similar dinner. My meal was a little over $20 which seems overpriced. I would possibly give Lime Leaf another chance and try something else on the menu due to the great service, however I was not over the moon with the food my first time. read more

Happened to stop in on the way to Columbia from Asheville last night. Saw Thai food on google maps and said why not. Glad we stopped, totally worth the detour from the interstate. Restaurant is really nicely decorated and very clean. Appealing all around. Our waiter was super nice and informative. He answered any questions we had and brought out food quite quickly, and it was just perfect. Plated beautifully, really regret not taking a picture before we dug in. My wife and I both got Basil dishes, mine with eggplant. Such nice subtle flavors, tasted of fresh Thai Basil. My daughter got a child's plate with a spring roll and brown fried rice. Since she didn't finish the rice, as she never does, we helped a bit. I've got to say it's absolutely the best brown fried rice I've ever had. My wife agreed and she's a brown rice aficionado. I can't recommend this place more highly. All around perfect. read more

Very good food n atmosphere. If u really want med spicy or very spicy u need to tell the waiter to tell the chef to cook it real Thai medium. The tea is too weak. I have eaten at this restaurant twice. It is close to the Marriott in the downtown area. The food is just okay and the service is poor. It is over-priced. I have seen this deceptive pricing in several Thai restaurants when I have visited the South and the locals have little to compare it with. The locals are usually happy to have different food in the smaller towns and cities and the Thai restaurants (and some other restaurants) hijack the food prices 40-50% greater than they should be. I wonder why this place is so highly rated. I have been three times now and totally underwhelmed every time. The atmosphere is very nice. However the food is just okay, the service is usually so-so (but terrible last time I went), and the portions are not very good. There are much, much better places for Thai in Spartanburg. Crazy bland very very bad and the price is crazy. I've been here three times and it's obvious that they can't cook and only care for a high profit margin. $30 dollars for 2 orders of sesame chicken which was 90% breading and tasted so mediocre! The green bell peppers were totally soft not ripe at all. Very sup par food. Another visit had a $20 fish talapia...it sucked better than the sesame chicken. Monsoon noodle house is better but still sucks and it's right up the street. They are both owned by the same person.. Thai taste is a much much better restaurant about 8 min from this restaurant and has much better food and prices. Overall this place is a ripoff avoid it like the plague!! read more

My husband and I absolutely love this place. We have heard others mention a long wait during the dinner hours but we go around 6-ish and have never had a problem. The ambiance is perfect. The dishes are excellent with fresh ingredients (the owner grows some of the herbs and spices herself.) Additionally, we have also loved the staff...they are just all so wonderful and friendly. Overrated soda tasted flat so we got sweet tea was very bitter like it had been sitting for awhile. Service was slow sesame chicken was very gewy n runny wasn't that warm either. Spring rolls were gross very oily. We've been there twice wasn't good either time we aren't going back trust me take your money elsewhere. Also when we asked to speak with manager she is a very rude Asian lady who you really can't understand what she's saying. read more
