An entire Thai restaurant with EVERYTHING on the menu vegan?!!! YES PLEASE!! The food was tasty and there were lots of familiar Thai choices, made vegan / plant-based. My 19 year old daughter felt her food was a bit on the spicy side, but ... I mean it's Thai soooo... spice is to be expected! And if you want to really dial up the heat level, your server will bring you a chili oil sauce, which I used and loved. The place is in a scruffy little strip mall. The inside is small and cozy. The decor and environment is more of a 3-star experience (if that) but the food elevates it. Take out would be a good option. Generous portions. We ordered take out from here for dinner tonight and it was great! We ordered a few dishes to try. We each got a Pad Thai dish and they were heavyyyy! We will be happily eating it tomorrow for dinner as well! We also got their fried rice bowl which was super tasty and we ordered the PET dish that had pumpkin, eggplant, and tofu in a garlic sauce with a side of rice! This one was incredible with a ton of veggies. The rice was packed in a separate container and was shaped into a heart, which was a nice touch! We also ordered the sticky rice for dessert! The food came to us quickly and was still very hot when it arrived! We will definitely order from this place again! Food is good. Service is horrible. Hostess was the same person both times we went. No personality whatsoever. None. Didn't ask if we wanted a drink when she tossed the menus onto the table. It's 2024, so I get she might be wearing a mask for her own sake, but when you have no ability to greet your customers hiding your face makes it even more important to talk to your customers. She tossed off the menus and doesn't mention that she is out of anything. My wife orders a salad, and she says that they are out of the salad. Did I mention this is a Vegan restaurant? Right it's OK textures a little weird breast cut up ground and When a customer comes into a DEAD EMPTY place, place raise your gaze and look to your customers for goodness sake. Ambiance is ok. The choice of incense may turn some off but we were ok with it. I see lots of the great reviews for this place are for takeaway. I can definitely see why. We gave it a second shot. Won't be back. ..and FYI the "Chicken Satay" is not chicken. Read the smaller print and it says soy chicken. Not sure what the difference is between the tofu satay and the soy chicken satay would be. Family gathered here as we have some with diet restrictions but we all love Thai food. Everything here is completely vegan, so no chances of cross contamination for the vegetarian folks either. As an omnivore and Thai food lover, the spice level was a little weak to me. So I needed the spice tray. That is seriously the only thing near a complaint I can make and its really not one. See Ew is my usual go to, and I opted for just straight tofu for my protein, but I did snag a bite of a family member's "beef" dish. If I was told to nix red meat completely, I could eat that and never feel even a little deprived. It was very authentic. The meat alternatives were so impressive we asked if they would be willing to tell us where they got it. They make it all in house. The soy chicken and soy fish will definitely be a follow up when next in the area. Outside, it looks a little underwhelming but inside, its very inviting and lovely. I have to say I felt bad writing them a one star review for not being open for no discernible reason the first time I tried, because I assume that they are open most days and are probably capable of producing decent food. Now I don't feel so bad. Having found a reason to return, I once again checked their website before coming and rocked up only to find the place closed, with a handwritten sign indicating such next to the door. Thanks for the help this time. It seemed like the interior had been reserved for some private event, though the people didn't exactly seem to be in a partying mood. Nor was I. It's just baffling to me how anyone runs a business this way. Randomly not being open during business hours is a serious problem, and this is twice in one calendar year under completely different circumstances, so I'm skeptical that those were the only two times. And despite having a website and social media, they make no attempt to announce that they aren't open. Call in advance I guess? But from my perspective, I prefer to patronize businesses that actually want me to come. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Imagine the delight of a vegetarian discovering a vegan restaurant in South Carolina. I have tried their entire menu over the course of a year. I find their food to be meh, hit and miss. Some are really good others are better off not on the menu. The food could get a 3-4 star rating on its own. THE SERVICE, however is a different story. Out of 10 times calling to pre place a pick order, they have only answered the phone one time. They have no online option. When you get there it is a 50/50 chance that they are closed when their website says they are open. When you order in the restaurant it took over an hour for the food to come out. Popped in for a business lunch on a weekday. Neat little downtown area, average interior. Hostess/waitress was very friendly and efficient even for a group of eight. I grabbed a lunch special noodle dish similar to drunken noodles with tofu. Above average taste, not too oily. Went with the thai hot and it was about a 7 out of 10 on the heat scale, pretty mild. Came with two little rolls and a salad. Salad was a little better than the standard side salad you get with these deals. Overall, pretty good. read more

Such a hidden gem in the area. Their prices and proportions are immaculate. We always order the veggie dumplings, spring rolls, and yellow curry. The service is always quick! These dumplings are amazing, and the sauce is the perfect compliment with the lettuce. The curry is the perfect heat. Because this is a hidden gem, they aren't usually busy. Finally made it out to Thai Vegan in Greer in August 2020 after being recommended it by a friend months ago! I regret waiting so long to eat there as it was delicious! We ordered the veggie dumplings - steamed and fried -, the crispy chicken, and the spring rolls. All of which were amazing. I can't recommend enough the Thai Tea and Thai Ice Coffee - SO tasty! Our entrees were also delicious. Honestly, I didn't try one thing that I disliked. I can't wait to go back and visit - my only complaint is they aren't a bit closer to my location. I tried their PET (pumpkin eggplant tofu) entree a few weeks after my first review. It was really tasty. I've never had pumpkin like that before. It was chopped in chunky pieces. I didn't really know what to expect. The taste kind of reminded me of a sweet potato but more firm. The pumpkin and eggplant paired well together. The sauce was garlicky. I am not one to really eat in restaurants during COVID-19 so appreciate that it's takeout only, but I am excited for when the dining is open! Really amazing food, even my meat eating family likes it. A very quiet restaurant where we had good service and great flavored food. First time eating Vegan type food and didn't really miss the meat. Would have been nice but no meat is pretty good. It was nice to eat a meal that we could enjoy a conversation with no distractions etc. it's a good place to bring a date. Found this place by accident and quite a surprise it turned out to be! Decent service. Food quality was great. We had Tom Ka Kai and Miso Soup, both were good. Also had eggplant tofu, seafood chu chee curry and jungle noodles. Curry was good but basil was bit overpowering. Eggplant dish was star of the table so was Tom Ka Kai. My family and I ate here on a Sunday night and had a great experience. Apps- The green curry dumpling was one of the best appetizers I've had anywhere in a long time. Great sauce and flavor. Also enjoyed the fresh (non-fried) veggie dumpling. Just average were the fried spring rolls and fried red chili dumplings. . Main- Se-Ew was fantastic. I thought the noodles were perfectly done. The red curry my wife got was great. I had some on top of the veggie fried rice our table ordered (seriously recommend this) and would definitely get it again! Drinks- while there were not any Asian beers I saw available, our draft beers were very cold and very affordable. Overall. This place is fantastic.The ambiance isn't great and the space could use improving (maybe repaint the bathroom ceiling). Also, a spice scale would be helpful for ordering, I would have liked to give a # to give the chef a guidance for spiciness. But the food absolutely delivered and more than made up for any deficiencies there. Our party ordered 4 beers, 4 apps, and 5 mains and paid under 100 dollars before tip-That is great value! This is a small thing, but sometimes Asian food can be too salty, we did not get that from the food here, flavorful without the salt hit afterwards. Super psyched to find a vegan place in the area that isnt a juice bar! I enjoyed everything. The Pumpkin Curry I got with just veggies (no tofu) and I only got a 2 out of 5 spice level, and it caused some tears! It was perfect, though any hotter would have been over the top for me. I don't know if it comes with some multi-colored variety of brown rice, but it's served heart-shaped and it delicious!! The Thai iced tea is made with soy milk and is soooo sweet. (I think that probably plays into the southern sweet tea preference). They also have a bar-not sure if it's a full bar, but they at least have beer and wine. Definitely would come back!! read more

My wife and I tried Thai Vegan for the first time. We both enjoy Thai food and have eaten at many Thai restaurants across the country and are quite familiar with Thai food. As the name implies, the food is vegan. Read the dish description carefully as you will find that soy protein is used rather than animal or seafood protein for nearly all dishes. Service was not very good even though there was only one other diner in the restaurant. My wife got the vegetarian green curry. While the sauce was flavorful, the dish was lacking in vegetable content. I got the Tom Yum soup. Seems like each restaurant makes it a little different. Their version tasted watery and lacked the bold flavors that I expect. Perhaps other dishes would have been more satisfying but my overall experience would lead me to try elsewhere the next time I want Thai cuisine. read more

Let me start by saying I am not vegan but I do enjoy Thai food. My sister is a vegetarian and she was very excited to try this place. It was pretty much empty inside, but we were eating a late lunch. There is a good amount of tables and space inside. One thing that caught my eye was the decor on the walls - pretty sure everything that's hung up is crooked. So if that bothers you, avoid looking at the walls. We were immediately greeted by our server who was very upbeat and chipper. We tried the freshy rolls to start. They were crunchy and fresh. I really enjoyed the hoisin sauce with it as well. I ordered the seafood tom yum soup. Why I ordered hot soup in 100 degree weather, I don't know. It was also SUPER spicy. I am so glad we came to this gem. It's so hard to find vegan food in general, but Thai especially is hard to come by just because of fish and oyster sauce. It was amazing to be able to eat everything here, but the best part is that even if you aren't vegan, the food is INCREDIBLE. Super nice people working there, too. For appetizers, we had the tofu satay and spring rolls. The tofu satay with the peanut sauce was absolutely amazing and had a ton of flavor. The spring rolls were also really good, although if I had to choose, I would get the tofu. My mom and I split the pad thai, tom yum, and green papaya salad. All were excellent. None "tasted vegan" (as by bf would say) despite being so. This is a new favorite restaurant of mine, and it was 100% worth the trip out to Greer from Greenville. Can't wait to go back. read more

This was our second visit. We had a good experience the first time, so when we visited yesterday we were not pleased at all. We ordered an appetizer that came out ok, but when it was time for the main course, one meal was brought out and we expected the second meal to come within in the next 2 to 3 minutes. That DID NOT happen . My husband finished his meal and my plate was no where to be seen. Waitress never came back to explain or see how we were doing. Not even to refill our water glasses. I really love this place. They have an extensive menu with a variety of entrees, sides, salads, soups, desserts, etc. - all vegan. The menu items are quite affordable. I have dined in the restaurant and ordered carry-out many times and have had only good experiences. Carry-out orders take 20min and service is fast for dine-in as well. With a closer look, you will see that the the chef at Thai Vegan has put together a smorgasbord of fresh and unique vegan items to sample. We had the classic spring rolls and paired them with the tofu sateh to get things started. Both dishes were delicious, with yummy sauces, and the peanut sauce was simply fantastic. For entrees, we tried the yellow curry (pictured), the red curry, the fried rice, and the pad thai. All were full size portions, prepared beautifully, and oh so delicious.
