Great place to stay in the Keys. Great views and convenient to Islamorada or Marathon Keys. Our room was nicely furnished and clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Really enjoyed staying here. It's a quieter spot, so not as much to do nearby but the beach, pool and view of the water is fantastic. A true gem to watch the sunset here. The Florida Boy is the only nearby food or drink but it suffices for basic grub and drink. Head into town and there's lots to do. The cleaning staff here do great work and are very friendly with their daily cleanings. We plan to come back.
This place is very clean front desk. Girls are amazing. Special shout out to Andrea for going above and beyond helping get the room ready for my daughter's birthday. Thank you so much. The trip was amazing.
This review will be very guarded. There were plenty of positives, and while we appreciated the service and views and white sand - bottom line: we think we could have picked better. That's what Yelp is for - you can decide for yourself. Pictures show attractive rooms with a mid-century modern vibe. True to the photos, the rooms look like they photograph. But, regretfully the two that we stayed in also came with a musty, bad Grandma's house odor. Bathroom had recently been remodeled. Tiled shower was big and roomy, but at full hot, water wasn't hot enough for my husband. King bed was lumpy. Continental breakfast at the restaurant next door was amazing. Food service team did an excellent job of prep and presentation. Very professional and lots of tasty breads, rolls, yogurt, etc to choose from. They even made coffee on the gas stove and worked in the dark to have breakfast ready on time the morning power was out. That's dedication! There is another part of the property across Hwy 1 from the main resort. Warning - if you stay there, Hwy 1 is very busy. A walk across might be hazardous for some. The pool was heated and cleaned everyday (we saw them) but as pool owners ourselves, the water was too murky for us to get in. Maybe a bad chemical mix? Grounds and white sand were always always clean and tidy. So there you have it! We know how to adapt so we made the best of things. We got some amazing rainbow pictures one morning, but overall, this was not a pot o' gold for us.
This is a decent 2.5-3 or so star resort with pretty sunset views midway to Key West in the FL Keys. Our room was really basic, with tons of things missing to make it convenient. Lots of scratches and scuffs on the walls where paint was missing. The bathroom was nicer than expected in the shower area, but there is nowhere in the shower to put anything - no shelf. So you have nowhere to put soap, shampoo, etc. It's weird. Also, no towel rack in the bathroom anywhere near the sink and the sink is small so you can't fit anything around it with no shelves there either. The phone didn't work to call the front and there is assigned parking. When we returned from a long, hot day in Key West, someone was parked in our spot and we parked a few spots down (with our parking pass on display). About 10 minutes later someone from the office came to knock on our door to ask us to move bc people were waiting to get into their spot and asked us to park at the restaurant. I was like, why would I move when someone is parking in my spot? Ask them to move. Why am I going to be inconvenienced, bc someone parked in my spot, so you don't want someone else to be inconvenienced? I don't understand... I'd love to have parked in my own spot, obviously I would've if I could've. Maybe get the first offender to move. So that's clearly an issue here. The breakfast in the AM is awful. Coffee was some of the worst I've had (as is the coffee in the room), there were only carbs. There were old muffins, croissants, and cold cinnamon buns. There were English muffins, toast, and bagels you could toast but they had three toasters out and none worked (people were lined up trying and it never worked). They had bananas out and some hot water but all the tea was caffeine free and none was a breakfast tea, just weird fruity and chamomile teas. No eggs, no bacon, no protein if any kind and nothing really except some nasty muffins and cold toast or cereal. Disappointing. We only tried the first day and decided we'd rather be hungry or eat elsewhere. They do have water play items for use for free - like paddle boards, kayaks, etc. that you can use as long as you sign a waiver in the office so that's nice. Pool area is fairly nice (at 2-3 ft deep max) and most rooms have water/sunset views. Overall, I would not come back. It's overpriced for what you get and the rooms are very basic.
We live in South Florida and come here every couple of months. We return for a lot of reasons: reasonable price that includes plenty of amenities like kayaking, pool, morning yoga, snorkeling, etc. They have a wide variety of room options and we've liked all of them though I recommend the villas across the street. Definitely ask if it has a private balcony or not if that matters to you. There is a restaurant/bar but you have to drive about 20m to find anything else. Sunset is amazing!!
My husband and I spent a week at the resort. On our second night, the showered wasn't draining properly and the air conditioning stopped working. The next morning when we reported this they promptly moved us to a new room (bigger room and better view). They were very accommodating and eager to rectify the situation. The property is maintained nicely and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Things happen but it's how management handles things that matter. We would definitely recommend Line Tree Bay Resort for a wonderful Keys experience!
Our room is spectacular. We have a queen and sleeper sofa and a washer and dryer we are in the apartments across the street from the resort. A convenience store is next door which is a 1 minute walk. Super convenient! I love everything about this place. The restaurant is open and airy. The pool is just absolutely lovely with gorgeous views there are beach chairs and hammocks. The front desk staff was super nice! I'd love to come back again.
Lovely resort just south of Islamorada. Room was as pictured. Updated and Very clean. Smelled fresh. Friendly and accommodating staff. We (my kiddo and I) had a waterfront studio with kitchenette and it was perfect. Included cutlery, pots/ pans. Toaster, coffeemaker and a blender. Basics to get you going for basic cooking if u choose. Comfortable bed. Everything in working order. Hot shower, good pressure. Great views right out our door. Could sit out and enjoy morning coffee. Complimentary paddle boards, kayaks and bikes. Felt very safe. Quiet at night. Peaceful during day. Heated pool, lots of lounges in "beach area" and pool. Ample free parking. Close to all the Islamorada(or marathon) action. There is a little grocery/ convenience store across the street. Restaurant on site(we did not eat there so no comment). No breakfast included. Highly recommend and would return.
Stayed here during our visit to Isla Morada. We booked this location online and the pictures were a great view of what you'll get when you arrive. Staff was very friendly and check in was a breeze. The room was clean and the view was excellent. Price for the room was super reasonable for the area. Parking lot is small and you'll have an assigned spot for your room. There are many things within a short drive, or you can enjoy many of the relaxing spots on the property itself. There are hammocks, patio furniture areas, a fishing dock, bike rentals, and more. Overall: A A solid hotel stay in a great area. The view is gorgeous.
My wife and I have been coming to the Lime Tree Bay Resort twice a year for the last 4 years; it is absolutely our favorite place. The owners and staff are wonderful and friendly, the resort offers everything from snorkeling, kayaks, paddleboards, bicycles, and ping pong. The sunsets on the gulf are fantastic. They have 3 bedrooms townhomes on the canal and countless rooms right on the beach. I can't say enough about this place other than we'll keep coming every year. If you want a place that truly represents "The Keys", you'll find it here.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Lime Tee Bay Resort in Layton, Long Key FL! No, it's not an $800/night all-inclusive resort in the keys, but that's why we chose it. However, we were completely blown away by how wonderful it was, with so many great amenities on property and beautiful views. We stayed 4 nights in April. This resort is spread out along two sides of the main highway. We chose a king suite with canal view, instead of the waterfront gulf view. The waterfront rooms looked like they have a great view and very easy access to the pool and dock, but we were delighted with our big deck and access to the additional pool area on the canal side. Our room was so spacious and very clean. We took advantage of the free kayaks, and the beach area was surprisingly fun for snorkeling - we saw so much ocean life! This was our first trip to the Keys, and honestly we were so happy just chilling on the deck and taking in the view and breezes, and visiting the beach, that we could have just stayed at the resort the whole time. Staff is super friendly and helpful. We had the "privacy please" tag on the door for most of our stay as we don't require regular tidying and aren't towel hogs, but the cleaning staff saw us on the deck and still asked if we needed anything. Very nice! Front desk staff were great at explaining all the available amenities and answering any questions. The onsite restaurant Florida Boy was just okay. They do serve breakfast, which is very convenient before heading out for the day. We had a fantastic trip to the keys at Lime Tree Bay and can't wait to book our next trip! read more
This is a great place to stay on the Keys if you want a real laid back experience. It is quiet and peaceful, except you do hear all the busy traffic. That can't be helped since it is right off the main road! The hotel has a small beach area and a dock. There are plenty of lounge chairs, tables and even a hammock or two. They provide complimentary access to kayaks and paddle boards. There is a nice swimming pool and pickle ball / tennis courts right across the street. The only restaurant in Layton is part of the resort and the food and drinks are good. And of course, the beautiful FL Keys sunsets are part of the package! We had a two bedroom, two bath unit on the second floor. It had a private stair entrance and a large patio that does have an ocean and pool view. The unit is very roomy, on the outdated side as relates to fixtures and appliances, but the beds are comfortable. There is no dishwasher and only one hair dryer. One bedroom has an en-suite and the other bathroom is next to the kitchen, so a bit of a walk during the middle of the night. But, not a big deal for us. Our request for improvement is that the tile floor was filthy, your feet bottoms were black after walking barefoot. Otherwise, we would stay here again. There was a nice mix of families with young kids to retirees. read more

It doesn't look like much from the road, kind of looks like a run down motel, but then once you see the rooms and the rest of the property it's a completely different world. We had the best time!! Reasonably priced and beautiful sunsets. Lots of activities right on property too so barely left! Loved the pool and dipping into the gulf. Loved kayaking and paddle boarding....and saw tea turtles laying on the hammock in the evenings and watching the sunset was so special. Plus the staff is so kind and accommodating. read more

Really enjoyed staying here. It's a quieter spot, so not as much to do nearby but the beach, pool and view of the water is fantastic. A true gem to watch the sunset here. The Florida Boy is the only nearby food or drink but it suffices for basic grub and drink. Head into town and there's lots to do. I will start by admitting that I was lured into this place based on the marketing information and pictures found on the Chase vacations website and tripadvisor. When showing up, this place is far smaller with fewer amenities than I was expecting. Yes, my expectations were high and reality is somewhere in the middle. This is not a resort where you sit at the pool and have a server who can bring you drinks. Nor does it have a bar by the pool unless you call the restaurant/bar next door one. They were building a new pool which was in plain site while they had their older but working pool/jacuzzi area. Optically, this is not a beautiful site. If you stay in the townhouses, they are across a very busy highway. Yes, I felt like a family of baby ducks trying to cross this road with no cross walk or light. You had to time your run to clear the two lanes. There isn't really a beach here. There is a sandy area that sits kind of above the water. Now to the positives. The lady at the front desk was amazing. Gave us plenty of towels and very cheery. On the townhouse side, it backs up to a water inlet where you see other boats come by as they go to the houses across the way. Very cool to sit out there. They had 2 covered picnic benches out there. The townhouse itself seemed almost brand new. It's 3 floors and looked very nice. Access to Netflix/Hulu/Amazon. Full kitchen with 2 balconies. AC and hot water worked well. There is a patio in the back for each unit with table and chairs. There is a second pool on the townhouse side. Our family had it for 2 days by ourselves. It was nice and warm and a good size. We saw several iguanas or lizards. Really nice experience. read more
What a wonderful, relaxing spot to hang out in the Keys! Even with the Covid pandemic (still!) raging, LTBR made everything easy and stress free. This was our first stay with Lime Tree, and it was a perfect "home base" for us as we enjoyed several days of scuba diving in the neighboring keys. We enjoyed continental breakfast and coffee on our little porch each morning and dinner with cocktails at the Florida Boy tiki bar (on the property) at night. So many amenities included: pool, paddleboard, kayaks, bicycles, fishing dock - what a great value! Can't wait to come back! read more

Caught a flight to key west to purchase a truck and this was where I stopped for the night. I might say that this location is a separate property. Half the property is beach side and the other is canal side. My room #5 was $390 for the night & was a 3 bedroom 3 story. The layout was very good and had plenty of bathrooms. Naturally it was just me for the entire place but it was the last room they had. What I enjoyed was the bar and grill that's on the property. Awesome food but the drinks were a bit on the weak side imo. The check in process was super fast and easy. I'm saving this location to my list for places to stay. The only reason for 4stars instead of 5 is the entire house smelled like an old folks retirement home. Outside of that it was good to go read more

This hotel was delightful from check-in to check-out! The room was immaculate, there were plenty of toiletries and towels. The grounds was also well manicured and they had ground keepers constantly walking around taking the sand and cleaning areas. There are tables and hammocks around for guest to use along with kayaks, bikes, and stand up paddle boards free of charge! There is a small pier boats can dock at but walking along it, especially in the morning, you can see a number of lobsters and fish. A few times we saw a small stingray cruising around. People do also fish off the pier also. I liked that this hotel had a text feature so you could avoid going back and forth to the front office. They frequently checked on us via this feature to be sure we had everything we needed. There is a bar/restaurant behind the hotel called the Florida boy that serves basic bar food and is quick and easy if you want to grab food without having to drive anywhere. read more
This is not a particularly "amazing" place to stay, but it is a decent one. We used it as a half-way overnight stop as we drove down to Key West. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. Good bed too. We had a nice tree level (3rd floor) view over the water. Nice spot to enjoy the sunset. Unfortunately, there's also a lot of road noise (lots of trucks), so it doesn't have a very serene ambience. The units at the far end of the property might be quieter based on a stroll we took. One thing we did not like was that the air conditioning unit pointed right at the top of the bed. Made for cold heads at night. The property has nice amenities such as kayaks and bikes. However, there's really nothing very exciting as a kayaking or biking destination. There's also a beach type area to lounge and enjoy the birds over the water. Bottom line: Good for a day or two, but not somewhere we'd choose to stay for a longer stretch. read more

Who doesn't lovvvveeeee a long weekend? More pretty please! So boyfriend and I sat around one December afternoon searching for spots to spend the President Day weekend. We decided to stay local-ish. We had pretty much exhausted the Naples\ Marco ideas. I knew I didn't necessarily feel like Key West for a few reasons. I have passed Lime Tree manymanymany times and often wondered. After seeing a cute IG post, we decided to go for it. From moment one...relaxeddddd. Exactly what we were looking for. Check in was a breeze thanks to the two lovely women at the desk(shout out to Terry who called me to be sure they had my info correct). You know I'm from NY. Frankly, our room was practically the same size as my last apartment home in Brooklyn! The ocean facing room was spacious with a fully equipped kitchenette. So nice to be able to have that option re meals! Modern and clean. Now I live on the beach and have a daily gorgeous sunset. But let's face it. There's something about changing the subject and being somewhere else. Even if for a few days. We were happy to wake...lay on the beach...bake in the sun(I have a real sun addiction) and do nada. NADA. The grounds themselves are really beautiful. We were impressed with the fact that while not an expansive property, we felt like we had plenty. Plenty of space...copious beach chairs...even several fantastic hammocks. And while we did not grill food, we saw several families take advantage and enjoy the little barbecue. There was a yoga class offered and I'll tell you, I was shocked at how many folks joined! And it was amazing! I don't know the last time I enjoyed a yoga class (I try and try) as I did this time! No kidding! Thank you Shavaun(sp)! Bf and I commented that Lime Tree really suits folks doing a solo thing, couples and also families! Really nice. If you're looking for either a relaxing easy breezy spot, this is your place! I will be back! read more
So happy we chose this hotel to stay 2 nights in Islamorada! The sunsets here are sensational! The hotel is so relaxed with a beautiful beach with hammocks & lounge chairs that I never wanted to leave. There's just enough amenities- pool, hot tub, hammocks, bicycles, kayaks, and restaurant & bar on site and convenience store across the street. We saw lots of birds, sharks & lobsters! Hotel room was spotless & very comfortable- slept great, loved all ornate tile, convenient mini fridge, microwave & coffee maker. There is free parking on site too. Enjoyed dinner and drinks at restaurant on site as well. (The included complimentary breakfast wasnt great, and there was some construction on site for a new pool but we didnt mind). Met other visitors who were repeat guests- i def will come back- great value! read more

This place is the definition of a sh*t show. No one on the staff knows what's going on with anything. They're not quite rude per say, but I think they're just all in the wrong business. Zero concern about the satisfaction of any of the customers I seen any of the staff interact with. The nicest of all the staff we interacted with was a guy who was power washing one of the buildings who was nice enough to explain where we could park since half the parking spots were under construction and it was a free for all. Both girls at the front desks were having issues with people who booked online and they had no rooms reserved for them. They ask you to text their number for the continental breakfast order but when we went to pick it up they "didn't get the text" of me and about half of the other people there. The staffs was response was "I just hand out food". Not what I consider hospitality. The pluses? Shower head was good pressure and water was hot. If you get a beach front room the beach is a few steps away BUT it's open to all the residents so you'll have dozens of kids and people running around right outside your room all day. The room itself was dingy, dark and dirty. You could see the water out of the room window IF they actually ever cleaned the windows. I started this with a 2 star review but the more I type and think about my experience I'm taking this down to a one star. I can not recommend. read more
Yes, I gave this place 5 stars meaning you don't have to be the most expensive to have a hotel that offers options. Check in and check out is super easy. You are sent emails with instructions on everything. The rooms no matter the size options are comfortable, roomy and have what you need. The grounds are maintained well. Best of all, there are options for everyone and all age groups to activities such as paddles, kayaks, pool, snorkeling, table tennis, chess, and board games etc. All small and large groups where able to have a space and enjoy the premises. The staff is wonderful from office to the maintenance personnel. They actually go out of their way to make sure you are good and enjoying yourself. Of course, we will be back. Enjoy! read more

Our recent stay at Lime Tree Bay was perfect! We stayed in a room just off the main property advertised as "canal view". The large balcony had a good view of the pool & canal. Cool breezes made it a perfect night to sit outside. Only downside of this was the fact a 4-plex apartment is across the canal. The room was very comfortable & well-appointed. Bed & linens were clean and the whole room smelled clean without a chemical odor, if that makes sense. Sizeable & functional kitchenette had good supplies. The bathroom & shower were clean and spacious. Updated windows & slider door mean no outside noises bother you in the room. The absolute highlight of the resort is the beach amenities on the main property. Hammocks strung in multiple locations under the palms made for an inviting place to lounge. The resort makes several kayaks & stand-up paddleboards available along with bikes for activities. The selling point for your stay is the sunset views. Stellar!! read more

My boyfriend and I had booked Lime Tree Bay based on their decent reviews and awesome pictures on their website. We booked directly through the property and made it clear we wanted 1. A view 2. A kitchen/kitchenette. When we arrived the staff was pretty miserable. We got to our room to be met with an overpowering smell of mildew. It was as if the doors hadn't been opened in months. The balcony was a great size however it overlooked a highway, a shed and small piece of dirty water. Upon looking around we noticed we didn't have a kitchen or kitchenette, just a microwave and a mini fridge. After going to the front desk, they said they could move us to a smaller room that has no balcony or view but a kitchen. Luckily this room smelled slightly better. I asked if they planned on refunding me the difference for moving to a cheaper room, and they refused. At this point I requested a full refund and took our business elsewhere. After saying they had released the charge on my card, I called my bank only to be told that they had never released it. Luckily my bank reversed the charges with proof of everything. There was one woman working there who seemed like she was genuinely trying to help, but she was overshadowed by the manager who was just extremely unfriendly. read more

Best type of room to book for someone seeking nice view but quiet?
All rooms have some road noise, but we stayed in the Bougainvillea Suite and was very peaceful. Private balcony with outside dining/breakfast table was nice.
When is the last time to check in?
I have arrived late several times, once after midnight, I have called ahead and they leave key taped in an envelope on office door. Then I go check in in the morning. Never had an issue.
