Just got back from a week long vacation at White Gate Court and we already miss it. This is our second year staying here and most certainly, not our last. We love everything about this place (except the mosquitos/bring extra bug spray and citronella candles, while they fumigated during our stay, it's still not enough). We especially love being able to walk to the dock and get on our boat as we please. This place is a hidden gem. Staff is always available on site, friendly and eager to help.

We rented out all of the cottages and had our wedding here! Everything was amazing and I wouldn't have changed a thing! Can't wait to come back and make new memories here

Shhhh! I don't like to tell people about this place because if word got out too much about this cute little 'Cottage on the Beach Resort' nestled on the quiet, beautiful, and conveniently located little island of Lower Montecumbe in Islamorada amongst the Florida Keys, it would never have an availability. There are only 7 cottages AND they are pet friendly so you get to bring your best friends. It is a full service accommodation, so you get to stay and play and not have to worry about the dusting and sweeping part of the day. It's covered by the housekeeping staff. Each cottage has cooking facilities and outdoor grill so you can cook or if you prefer to visit the local restaurants there are plenty to chose from on the 5 islands that make up 'Islamorada'. The hosts have bikes, fishing rods, kayaks, noodles and floats for your use and enjoyment. The snorkeling around the dock on the bay is always fun, but if you desire to rent your own boat there is a nice big dock for you to secure it and get out for the ocean fishing or a little flats fishing, or just head out to the sand bars for a day in the warm waters of the Keys.

This is a dog resort, all the way! We've stayed here twice now, and brought both of our dogs each time. What I love the most is the ability to keep my dogs off-leash, and know that they are safe. The cottages are set back far off the highway, so there's no danger in dogs wandering off property (unless you have uncontrollable runners, but those are probably dogs that wouldn't be served well off-leash anyhow). The White Gate Court website displays a schematic of each cottage, but if you call them they will send you a map so you can see where each cottage is located on the property. My favorite is cottage #6 because you can see the water, and it's an easy run for the dogs out the front door to the beach area of the property. We've also stayed in #3, which was nice as well, but I missed staying closer to the beach area and having a King-sized bed. Some units have Kings and some have Queens, so be sure to check their website or confirm with management before booking. While there is a gravel road that runs from the highway, through the property, drivers are respectful that this is a dog-friendly property and proceed slowly to avoid any animals (or people)! The water access is easy and ample for dogs and humans alike. Complimentary kayaks and floatation devices are available for the use of guests, and our dogs even enjoyed sitting on a board or two and floating in the water with us. Plenty of trees, flowers, and well-maintained plants and grass adorn the entire property providing ample shade while relaxing in the chaise lounges out by the water. For those with a boat, there is moorage available as well as a fish-cleaning station for anyone needing to clean/filet their catch after coming in from a long day on the water. The boat slip (and trailer parking) is complimentary too!

What a great stay! My family and I went down for our annual August trip. Our cottage was clean, spacious and pet friendly! Our doxie had a great time making new fur friends on the property. The dock was perfect for our boat. Over all great stay and great service from all the friendly employees of white gate.

I've stayed at the white gate court for the third time now and every time is better. It's really a place for the dogs and we humans are invited. Daily service from thier friendly staff. Clean, tropical and great for snorkeling! I already miss it.

Love this place, so peaceful, bring your dog, they will love it also....we loved #6 and plan to come back, I can't wait to take a nap on the lounge chair again

Stayed here for the first time. Lived the resort with the boat dock, beach and guest dogs. Very clean and friendly owner. Will return

We loved this clean and dog friendly resort. Stayed in cabin 7. The owner is so friendly and service is excellent. We will return

A special thank you to our concierge, Anne, who was absolutely wonderful. She took the time to recommend family-friendly activities both at the lodge and around Islamorada, and her recommendations made our trip even more memorable. One of the best things about Cheeca Lodge is that there's truly something for everyone. We loved that we could paddleboard, kayak, ride bikes, fish off the iconic pier, relax by one of the three beautiful oceanfront pools, or simply enjoy the incredible views. There's even complimentary golf, which we didn't have time to take advantage of this trip. Our lagoon-view room was beautiful, peaceful, and impeccably maintained. The entire property is stunning, secure with gated entry, and offers complimentary parking throughout your stay. We also had an amazing experience at Mia Cucina, the Italian restaurant on site. The food was excellent, but what really stood out was the staff. The chefs were so kind and welcoming to our kids, making dinner feel extra special. The complimentary 24-hour shuttle was another huge plus, making it easy to explore the area without worrying about driving. There's also a 24-hour convenience store right across the street, which came in handy more than once. Islamorada ended up being the perfect destination for our family. It has such a relaxed, laid-back feel while still offering plenty to do. If you're looking for a luxury resort where you can truly unwind, spend quality time with family, and enjoy exceptional hospitality, Cheeca Lodge is it. Thank you to Anne and the entire Cheeca Lodge team for an unforgettable stay. We can't wait to return!

While our…read morefirst night didn't go as planned, what truly stood out was how quickly and genuinely the management team stepped in to make things right the very next day. That level of care and accountability speaks volumes. This resort is truly a slice of paradise, beautiful oceanfront views, gorgeous rooms, bungalows facing the pristine private beach, multiple pools, lush tropical grounds, on-site dining, and endless activities that make it impossible to get bored. Whether you're lounging by the water, enjoying a cocktail at the bar, biking around the property, or just soaking in the peaceful island vibe, there's something for everyone. It's a slow pace ñ, relaxing feel; like you're on your own private island. Although we weren't able to kayak or fully enjoy the beach due to sargassum during our stay, it just gives us the perfect reason to come back and experience it all next time! But what made our stay unforgettable was the PEOPLE. A huge heartfelt thank you for superb customer service and for being such a kind, dog-loving resort family; it meant the world to us traveling with our pup. Angela, Dolce, Vanessa, Josh, William, your love for animals and leadership clearly shines through your incredible team; your attention to detail, warmth, and friendliness elevated our entire experience. Charlene, our incredible server at the Tides; you have a wonderful future ahead, thank you for all the love and attention you poured out to us and Bane! You didn't all just meet our expectations; you exceeded them. We truly could not have asked for a better way to celebrate our special day, and we are already looking forward to coming back. Food for thought; the yellowtail snapper fish sandwich at the Tides was incredible and so was the smash burger. The pina coladas were fantastic too. We weren't a fan of the Drift restaurant although it was pretty; the food at the tides bar was much better; think of elevated Bar food but freshly curated. Most importantly they are dog friendly ( no breed or weight restrictions) ; make sure your dog is well trained. We took our big boy and he felt like a prince with his complimentary Islander Bandana and fire hydrant poop bag dispenser; but he is a quiet boy and well behaved . The resort will not tolerate bad behaved dogs or barkers. So please don't ruin it for the rest of us that have well behaved, big dogs, get banned because others don't know how to control their own four legged children.

We spent another week here and had a good time. They no longer give out the complementary sunglasses and snacks when you first check in. The sargassum, which is around from about March to October, was insane, so the ocean was not an option, but thankfully the pools were clean and warm. If we come back, it'll be when the sargassum isn't around.

They have a great menu for lunch options that they bring out to you. The room was very clean, modern, and spacious. You can request a microwave if you need too! There are bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks for rental for free. Lots of things going on in between the three resorts - we wish we'd had a chance to try the yoga! We will be back for years to come.

After 3 days my wife had to threaten the front desk staff with using towels to wipe her ass if the maids didn't restock the toilet paper in our room. Totally unacceptable for a resort. They kept assuring us the rooms service maids were coming in daily, but they never did until she threatened to come down and make a scene. The staff seemed unmotivated to complete even the basic cleaning tasks. We only asked for two coffee k cups, clean towels and the two room garbage cans to be emptied on a daily basis. That was just too demanding and the staff tried to mean-mug us when we came and went but finally got it done for the final two days of our visit. I'd advise you visit another property because the service is nonexistent and a total disappointment. Their on site restaurant was a joke as well. Completely overpriced and out of touch given the location. Every other restaurant we visited in the area was excellent, but theirs was almost always empty. The menu was way overpriced and there were countless local options that were much better and less expensive. Nearly all the staff on site see to be unwilling to provide service to customers and displaying a shitty attitude overall. Leadership changes need to take place or this property will crumble. Good location, just bad service with inadequate leadership supervision.
