Sunset on the beach at Lime Tree Resort
    Harvey S.

Really enjoyed staying here. It's a quieter spot, so not as much to do nearby but the beach, pool and view of the water is fantastic. A true gem to watch the sunset here. The Florida Boy is the only nearby food or drink but it suffices for basic grub and drink. Head into town and there's lots to do. The cleaning staff here do great work and are very friendly with their daily cleanings. We plan to come back.

This place is very clean front desk. Girls are amazing. Special shout out to Andrea for going above and beyond helping get the room ready for my daughter's birthday. Thank you so much. The trip was amazing.

Bathrooms have recently been upgraded. Water was not hot enough.

This review will be very guarded. There were plenty of positives, and while we appreciated the service and views and white sand - bottom line: we think we could have picked better. That's what Yelp is for - you can decide for yourself. Pictures show attractive rooms with a mid-century modern vibe. True to the photos, the rooms look like they photograph. But, regretfully the two that we stayed in also came with a musty, bad Grandma's house odor. Bathroom had recently been remodeled. Tiled shower was big and roomy, but at full hot, water wasn't hot enough for my husband. King bed was lumpy. Continental breakfast at the restaurant next door was amazing. Food service team did an excellent job of prep and presentation. Very professional and lots of tasty breads, rolls, yogurt, etc to choose from. They even made coffee on the gas stove and worked in the dark to have breakfast ready on time the morning power was out. That's dedication! There is another part of the property across Hwy 1 from the main resort. Warning - if you stay there, Hwy 1 is very busy. A walk across might be hazardous for some. The pool was heated and cleaned everyday (we saw them) but as pool owners ourselves, the water was too murky for us to get in. Maybe a bad chemical mix? Grounds and white sand were always always clean and tidy. So there you have it! We know how to adapt so we made the best of things. We got some amazing rainbow pictures one morning, but overall, this was not a pot o' gold for us.

This is a decent 2.5-3 or so star resort with pretty sunset views midway to Key West in the FL Keys. Our room was really basic, with tons of things missing to make it convenient. Lots of scratches and scuffs on the walls where paint was missing. The bathroom was nicer than expected in the shower area, but there is nowhere in the shower to put anything - no shelf. So you have nowhere to put soap, shampoo, etc. It's weird. Also, no towel rack in the bathroom anywhere near the sink and the sink is small so you can't fit anything around it with no shelves there either. The phone didn't work to call the front and there is assigned parking. When we returned from a long, hot day in Key West, someone was parked in our spot and we parked a few spots down (with our parking pass on display). About 10 minutes later someone from the office came to knock on our door to ask us to move bc people were waiting to get into their spot and asked us to park at the restaurant. I was like, why would I move when someone is parking in my spot? Ask them to move. Why am I going to be inconvenienced, bc someone parked in my spot, so you don't want someone else to be inconvenienced? I don't understand... I'd love to have parked in my own spot, obviously I would've if I could've. Maybe get the first offender to move. So that's clearly an issue here. The breakfast in the AM is awful. Coffee was some of the worst I've had (as is the coffee in the room), there were only carbs. There were old muffins, croissants, and cold cinnamon buns. There were English muffins, toast, and bagels you could toast but they had three toasters out and none worked (people were lined up trying and it never worked). They had bananas out and some hot water but all the tea was caffeine free and none was a breakfast tea, just weird fruity and chamomile teas. No eggs, no bacon, no protein if any kind and nothing really except some nasty muffins and cold toast or cereal. Disappointing. We only tried the first day and decided we'd rather be hungry or eat elsewhere. They do have water play items for use for free - like paddle boards, kayaks, etc. that you can use as long as you sign a waiver in the office so that's nice. Pool area is fairly nice (at 2-3 ft deep max) and most rooms have water/sunset views. Overall, I would not come back. It's overpriced for what you get and the rooms are very basic.

We live in South Florida and come here every couple of months. We return for a lot of reasons: reasonable price that includes plenty of amenities like kayaking, pool, morning yoga, snorkeling, etc. They have a wide variety of room options and we've liked all of them though I recommend the villas across the street. Definitely ask if it has a private balcony or not if that matters to you. There is a restaurant/bar but you have to drive about 20m to find anything else. Sunset is amazing!!

Beach at Lime Tree Bay Resort

My husband and I spent a week at the resort. On our second night, the showered wasn't draining properly and the air conditioning stopped working. The next morning when we reported this they promptly moved us to a new room (bigger room and better view). They were very accommodating and eager to rectify the situation. The property is maintained nicely and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Things happen but it's how management handles things that matter. We would definitely recommend Line Tree Bay Resort for a wonderful Keys experience!

    Waterfront king room with kitchenette.

Lovely resort just south of Islamorada. Room was as pictured. Updated and Very clean. Smelled fresh. Friendly and accommodating staff. We (my kiddo and I) had a waterfront studio with kitchenette and it was perfect. Included cutlery, pots/ pans. Toaster, coffeemaker and a blender. Basics to get you going for basic cooking if u choose. Comfortable bed. Everything in working order. Hot shower, good pressure. Great views right out our door. Could sit out and enjoy morning coffee. Complimentary paddle boards, kayaks and bikes. Felt very safe. Quiet at night. Peaceful during day. Heated pool, lots of lounges in "beach area" and pool. Ample free parking. Close to all the Islamorada(or marathon) action. There is a little grocery/ convenience store across the street. Restaurant on site(we did not eat there so no comment). No breakfast included. Highly recommend and would return.

Our room is spectacular. We have a queen and sleeper sofa and a washer and dryer we are in the apartments across the street from the resort. A convenience store is next door which is a 1 minute walk. Super convenient! I love everything about this place. The restaurant is open and airy. The pool is just absolutely lovely with gorgeous views there are beach chairs and hammocks. The front desk staff was super nice! I'd love to come back again.

    Fantastic Sunsets

My wife and I have been coming to the Lime Tree Bay Resort twice a year for the last 4 years; it is absolutely our favorite place. The owners and staff are wonderful and friendly, the resort offers everything from snorkeling, kayaks, paddleboards, bicycles, and ping pong. The sunsets on the gulf are fantastic. They have 3 bedrooms townhomes on the canal and countless rooms right on the beach. I can't say enough about this place other than we'll keep coming every year. If you want a place that truly represents "The Keys", you'll find it here.

Stayed here during our visit to Isla Morada. We booked this location online and the pictures were a great view of what you'll get when you arrive. Staff was very friendly and check in was a breeze. The room was clean and the view was excellent. Price for the room was super reasonable for the area. Parking lot is small and you'll have an assigned spot for your room. There are many things within a short drive, or you can enjoy many of the relaxing spots on the property itself. There are hammocks, patio furniture areas, a fishing dock, bike rentals, and more. Overall: A A solid hotel stay in a great area. The view is gorgeous.

I will start by admitting that I was lured into this place based on the marketing information and pictures found on the Chase vacations website and tripadvisor. When showing up, this place is far smaller with fewer amenities than I was expecting. Yes, my expectations were high and reality is somewhere in the middle. This is not a resort where you sit at the pool and have a server who can bring you drinks. Nor does it have a bar by the pool unless you call the restaurant/bar next door one. They were building a new pool which was in plain site while they had their older but working pool/jacuzzi area. Optically, this is not a beautiful site. If you stay in the townhouses, they are across a very busy highway. Yes, I felt like a family of baby ducks trying to cross this road with no cross walk or light. You had to time your run to clear the two lanes. There isn't really a beach here. There is a sandy area that sits kind of above the water. Now to the positives. The lady at the front desk was amazing. Gave us plenty of towels and very cheery. On the townhouse side, it backs up to a water inlet where you see other boats come by as they go to the houses across the way. Very cool to sit out there. They had 2 covered picnic benches out there. The townhouse itself seemed almost brand new. It's 3 floors and looked very nice. Access to Netflix/Hulu/Amazon. Full kitchen with 2 balconies. AC and hot water worked well. There is a patio in the back for each unit with table and chairs. There is a second pool on the townhouse side. Our family had it for 2 days by ourselves. It was nice and warm and a good size. We saw several iguanas or lizards. Really nice experience.

Wifi on the beach makes it easy to mix work with play.

What a wonderful, relaxing spot to hang out in the Keys! Even with the Covid pandemic (still!) raging, LTBR made everything easy and stress free. This was our first stay with Lime Tree, and it was a perfect "home base" for us as we enjoyed several days of scuba diving in the neighboring keys. We enjoyed continental breakfast and coffee on our little porch each morning and dinner with cocktails at the Florida Boy tiki bar (on the property) at night. So many amenities included: pool, paddleboard, kayaks, bicycles, fishing dock - what a great value! Can't wait to come back!

Best type of room to book for someone seeking nice view but quiet?

All rooms have some road noise, but we stayed in the Bougainvillea Suite and was very peaceful. Private balcony with outside dining/breakfast table was nice.

How are the prices at the tiki bar?

I dont know . did our own drinks

When is the last time to check in?

I have arrived late several times, once after midnight, I have called ahead and they leave key taped in an envelope on office door. Then I go check in in the morning. Never had an issue.

They allowed free issued of paddle boards and kayaks which the children really enjoyed. We were delighted in so many ways. We stayed in the Fighting Conch Cottage. It is situated on the man-made beach. There are 3 cottages like this. View is spectacular. Hammocks, chairs and thatch huts for coverage. The cottage is well appointed with full kitchen and separate bedroom. Modern bath and very clean. Great AC. The grounds are so relaxing and they have free paddle boards and kayaks (most places in Keys charge extra). Plenty of parking. All of the other cottages seemed quaint as did the pool area. I have never been so relaxed. I slept for 4 hours under the thatch roof on the first day. For tourists: Remember that the Florida Keys are rock islands. You won't get a white sand beach. That is the norm. Any beach is man-made in the Keys. The same goes for here. The beach is man-made but very nice. It is grassy in the water. This is normal for the Keys. The nearest food is about a 12-15 minute drive to Marathon. We loved being this secluded but do know that you'll have a short little jaunt for food. We will definitely be back.

Great Stay With Some Service & Logistics Gaps…read more Overall, we had a genuinely great experience as first-time visitors traveling without kids but with service animals. The property shines in many areas, especially if you're looking for a relaxing resort atmosphere with beautiful water views, pet-friendly accommodations, and a fun, laid-back vibe. That said, there were a few frustrating misses that held this back from being a 5-star stay. THE GOOD * Beautiful beach & lagoon area - Easily one of the highlights of the property. Relaxing, scenic, and fun overall. * Salt + Ash is a must - Exceptional food and one of the best dining experiences on property. The wine selection was top-notch and the beef tenderloin was outstanding. Easily our favorite restaurant. * Incredible staff throughout the resort - Bell staff, valet, oceanfront servers, housekeeping crew, and pool staff were consistently kind, personable, and welcoming. * Staff who go above and beyond - Huge shoutout to Joshua, who helped us secure chairs near the adult pool, and Danielle, who took time to chat, swap stories, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Hospitality like that sticks with you. * Captain's Suite is worth the upgrade - Strongly recommend spending the extra money if budget allows. The added space made the trip: dining area, living room, fridge, two toilets, large balcony, and beautiful water views overlooking the pool and lagoon. It elevated the experience tremendously. * Extremely pet & service animal friendly - This place deserves serious praise here. Few resorts feel this comfortable and accommodating for travelers with animals. Staff were respectful, welcoming, and there were no awkward restrictions or friction. If you travel with pets or service animals, this property stands out. * Tiki Grill - Great atmosphere for drinks and relaxing. Perfect for unwinding poolside. * 20% off dining on property helped offset costs - Appreciated perk considering resort pricing. THE NOT-SO-GOOD * Front desk communication & housekeeping logistics need work - This was our biggest frustration. We stayed in a Captain's Suite and requested both a room cleaning and balcony cleaning (bird droppings had accumulated on the balcony) around 10 AM. The front desk wrote down our room number and assured us it would be taken care of. When we returned around 3:30 PM, neither had been done. By after 4:30 PM, the room had finally been cleaned, but the balcony still hadn't been addressed. When you pay extra for a premium room and oceanfront balcony experience, this feels disappointing. There also seems to be a mild pigeon issue, and balcony maintenance should really be part of a regular checklist. Some simple bird deterrents or more proactive cleaning would go a long way. * Concierge/text support didn't materialize - We were told we'd receive a concierge-style welcome text shortly after check-in for support/questions. Unfortunately, we never received it. To make matters worse, the room phones didn't work, meaning concerns had to be addressed in person while waiting in the front desk line. * Food quality was inconsistent - Salt + Ash was phenomenal, but not every dining experience matched that standard. Tiki Grill: Great drinks and atmosphere, but the food was forgettable, under-seasoned, and not something we'd order again. Fine in a pinch. Angler & Ale: Beautiful waterfront views and exceptional staff, but the food leaned heavily fried and felt more like average bar food than resort dining. Fish and chips were disappointing. Oddly enough, the banana split ended up redeeming the meal. * Convenience store prices were shocking - Convenient? Yes. Affordable? Not even close. A few sodas and snacks escalated to $60+ surprisingly fast. I expected a slightly easier option versus restaurant pricing, but the markup felt extreme. * Parking costs add up - Valet runs about $40/day and self-parking is roughly half, but expect around a 10-minute walk with luggage, making valet feel almost mandatory. FINAL THOUGHTS Despite some communication breakdowns and uneven food experiences, we truly enjoyed our stay. The Captain's Suite, peaceful balcony views, fire pit at night, lagoon, beach access, pickleball, and pet-friendly atmosphere made for memorable moments. My advice: upgrade to the Captain's Suite, eat at Salt + Ash (seriously, get the beef tenderloin), enjoy the tiki drinks, walk the grounds, soak in the sun, and be selective about food choices elsewhere. Use the convenience store sparingly. Fix the housekeeping/communication gaps, improve how guests can raise concerns without standing in line, and clean those balconies consistently--and this place could easily become a 5-star destination.

June 11 - Arrival, Villa 7083 Upon entering our original…read morevilla, it was immediately obvious that the unit had not been properly cleaned or maintained. Among the issues we encountered: Cockroaches running on the walls Large dark brown stains throughout the carpets, including significant stains in the master bedroom and on the staircase Cracked tile on the flooring and carpet that clearly hadn't been vacuumed Dirty men's socks left behind in the closet of one of the bedrooms A strong mildew odor throughout the villa Water-damaged furniture in the master bedroom that appeared to be rotting from prolonged moisture exposure. I immediately reported the issues to the front desk. What was equally disappointing was the response. The manager on duty never came out to speak with me personally. Instead, the front desk employee repeatedly walked to the back to consult with management and returned to tell me there was nothing that could be done because the resort was sold out. As a result, my family was forced to spend the night in a villa that should never have been assigned to guests in the first place. I have photographs and video documenting every issue described above. June 12 - Second Villa, Same Problems 7086 The next day, we moved four adults, two children, luggage, and approximately $450 worth of groceries into Villa 7086. Shortly after settling in, we discovered the air conditioning was not functioning properly. Maintenance responded and measured the villa at 78 degrees. The temperature later climbed to 84 degrees. We were told management would be notified and the issue addressed. That never happened. On top of that my son had bugs crawling all over his bed. Comes to find out they were termites! Not, one or two but dozens - in the pillow cases, sheets, etc. The only reason this issue ultimately received attention was because later that day the Director of Engineering Danielle happened to ask how our stay was going while I was in the gift shop. Once she heard what had occurred, she immediately stepped in and began working to resolve the situation. Danielle deserves recognition because she was one of the ONLY employees during our stay who demonstrated urgency, professionalism, and a genuine concern for guest satisfaction. Later that day, Danielle arranged for us to move yet again--this time into two connecting rooms in the main hotel while also securing a third room for my brother and his girlfriend. When I asked what we should do with the groceries and supplies, she advised us to leave them in the villa and stated that the villa would be taken out of service until the air conditioning could be repaired. At that point, we had spent a significant portion of our vacation packing, unpacking, relocating belongings, coordinating food storage, and dealing with issues. June 13 - More Service Failures The next morning I took my daughter to breakfast at the café. We sat for approximately 10-15 minutes while multiple employees stood nearby talking among themselves. No one greeted us. No one acknowledged us. No one offered menus. No one checked on us. Employees walked by our table repeatedly and even cleared nearby tables while completely ignoring us. Eventually, I got up and left. A female staff member who was cleaning a nearby table noticed me leaving and hurried over to ask me to stay, but by that point we had already waited far too long without any service. I am confident this entire interaction would be visible on the café's surveillance footage. The café provided some of the worst service we experienced during our stay. The staff the works there barely speaks English and had zero sense of urgency to serve guests. Additional Concerns I also learned that my brother was repeatedly approached by staff members in the room that Danielle had assigned to him and questioned about him, receiving knocks on his door multiple days during the trip even when the Do Not Disturb sign was displayed. While I understand security procedures, repeatedly questioning a registered guest made him feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. What was especially troubling was that a male staff member knocked on his door and asked, "Are you supposed to even be in this room?" That type of interaction is completely inappropriate. Treating a paying guest. Treating a paying guest as though they don't belong there are accusing them of basically being a squatter was embarrassing, disrespectful, and is 100% classified as harassment vs. hospitality. Perhaps the most disappointing part of this experience is that Danielle informed me that the GM Bob L. would be contacting me directly to set up a in person meeting regarding the issues we experienced. When that didn't happen she said he would call me- he never did. When that didn't happen I emailed him 3x and never got a response.

You can tell that they really take pride in every area of the property, rooms, pool and grounds. What a joy!! It was a fantastic experience where we could forget about work and enjoy each moment. We had room 4 which was a kitchen, dining area, king size bed, and bathroom located near the dock. It was clean, up kept and we enjoyed our entire time there! The bed was comfortable and it had a nice TV. My husband brought fishing tackle so that he could fish from the dock and was extremely happy!! Next time he plans to bring his small boat so that he can dock it there. Upon our arrival we were greeted and checked in quickly and efficiently. Our questions about the area, restaurants, etc. were answered and he said he was only a text away if we had any questions at all. This was impressive to me and I was grateful. The sunsets were gorgeous and we were happy we brought our camera. We did not use the pool or the many hammocks and chairs on the grounds but we're happy they were there. We enjoyed the dock and porch area just outside our room and we are looking forward to coming back next year! This resort does not charge for parking or a resort fee which we appreciated and is located 10 to 15 minutes from a Publix in case you would like to purchase items for the kitchen. CVS is near the Publix too. This is a wonderful old style Florida resort that doesn't nickel and dime you for everything. We already have reservations for next year!

Located on the Conch Key, we booked this location for the marina view advertised and to be closer…read moreto the fishing spots we planned to go. Compared to other luxury resorts on the keys, this is more of a value option. When we called to make the reservation, the price offered was about $60/night more than 3rd party websites, luckily they agreed to match the price. The parking lot, building and the marina looked very run down. Empty beer bottles and trash were left uncollected on the patio by the pool. We did not stay outside for long as the whole premise has a noticeable sewage smell. We got Rm #9 which was above the general store. The room was pretty beat up: mismatched curtains, misaligned floor, old wall AC smaller than the wall opening supported by makeshift wooden planks, and sagging spring mattress...The restroom also has a moldy smell coming out from the sink. The combination of road noise, loud AC unit and uncomfortable bed made the night unenjoyable. On the day of check in, we were informed that check-in/check-out are only available during their business hours (8am-7pm) and had to adjust some of our itinerary to accommodate. Overall, there's quite a bit of disconnect between the website/ads and our actual experience. While it's a cost-effective choice, we'll opt for a different place next time.

Honestly you pay for what you get for; we didn't want to pay for the $600/night luxury experience…read moreon one of the many resorts because we wanted to focus more on the outdoor activities. We found this spot since we had plans to spend only one night in the Keys. We had to call the lodge to match their advertised price online (online third party sites showed prices that were around $60 cheaper per night). I didn't quite realize until we got there that it's a motel and not quite a lodge/hotel... It's pretty easy to miss to turn into the lot while on the highway. The parking lot is a bit run down and the same can be said for their marina. Parking is free. A strange odor (smells like sewage or some off smell) that wafts throughout the premises, that we haven't smelled in Key West, Marathon, or the other keys. The interior of our room is very old and pretty beat up; see pics. Floorboards with gaps in there and it was dilapidated upon first glance. The bathroom also had an off putting (maybe moldy?) smell that was uncomfortable coming up from the sink. We funnily enough had the room above the checkout register at their downstairs convenience store. The motel check in staff aren't even open 24/7 so you can't check in/out like normal unless you're within their hours of 8am-7pm, which is very annoying and unexpected. There is none of the niceties at your normal hotel (was hoping they had an ice machine but they have one that you need to pay for.) The motel room is super loud; the noise from the road and the window AC unit provide a symphony of unwanted noises all night. This is a bummer. Overall, it is a value option but we would likely choose another hotel the next time we are in the Keys just to have some more creature comforts.
