I came here for their grand opening, it was decorated on the outside and super festive inside. I had a double stroller which was a little hard to maneuver but they made it no big deal to move around inside. The goodies were delicious. I love white chocolate mochas and they whipped up something very similar which was way better then Starbucks. Oh wow! We are so glad we dropped in. We were in Batavia visiting family and dropped by for some breakfast and coffee. We had the ham and cheese quiche. It was the best quiche I have ever eaten. The coffee was amazing. We will definitely be back every time we are in Batavia.The community was so wonderful that we stayed long enough to eat lunch. I had some work that I needed to get done so I jumped on the Wi-Fi which was super fast. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this place. You will not be disappointed. read more

Limestone has become a must-stop anytime I'm in the Batavia area. Every drink I've gotten has been delicious and they are so nice and friendly. I really love the set up they have with curbside for covid. It's very clever and so convenient! They even take applepay for contactless payment. Before covid, I would sit in here for hours writing poetry with my best friends drinking their bottomless coffee. they put a plaque up to honor my poet best friend who passed a few years ago where he used to sit. A nice comfortable place in Batavia that rivals any coffee shop in Chicago. They have a great variety of drink options (I had the dark chocolate peanut butter coffee Called the Fox). They have cookies and other treats. Yum. Comfortable chairs and tables. Free Wi Fii! They highlight local artists on the walls and the artwork is really great! (and changes often) Great service. Today I was there and they closed while I was in there and I didn't even notice. I apologized and they said 'you were fine'. So nice! This is a community center. This is a coffee shop with regulars that supports local people and community events. Going here feels like coming home. I just love this place. I work from here about once a week or so, when i get sick of my house :) The quiche is super good, the coffee bottomless and fresh, and the oatmeal is my all time fave. I'm not super gluten-free, but their gluten-free baked goods are really, really tasty! Owners are very personable and friendly. They support the local art scene by having shows and displaying local artists on the walls. They have free wifi and 2 single bathrooms, which is great if you're like me and after 2 cups have to use the loo every five minutes! Haha! It's fairly warm in there most of the time, so dress appropriately. They have a back entrance if you want to park in the old post office lot or on the street for easier access. They also have a patio on the river, which i hear is nice in the summer. All in all, it's everything you would want for a local coffeehouse. read more

This is a great spot we found while searching for a new local coffee shop to try. During these tough times we want to make sure we are supporting our local businesses. I ordered the Honey Latte with almond milk and a spiced dirty chai. They were both really good. I've had dirty chai's at other coffee shops but, this one is a little different and it is so good! I've been driving by for the last couple of months on my way to work and today I decided to stop in. It's a little difficult to access in terms of it being right off Wilson in downtown Batavia but since it was 7:15am parking was available but traffic was hard to leave. I'd love to stop here again if parking is like that. I was in and out in less than 10 min. I got the morning latte and it's filled with cinnamon deliciousness. I'll definitely get it again. Yummmm. Hippies to the back. Limestone, you are a breath of fresh caffeinated air that is more than welcome any given day. A funky and chic coffee hotspot that is perfect to camp out and spend a few hours sipping on freshly brewed coffee or other hot drinks while studying or just taking advantage of your "alone time." For some ungodly reason, googlemaps blew right past and missed a few steps and I found myself driving through the thin streets of Batavia. On the verge of serious coffee withdrawal I automatically searched out for the green mermaid but found the green signage for Limestone and pulled off asap. Greeted instantly, I ordered the faithful americano and looked over the shop while my drink was getting itself ready for consumption. Quaint little place that is like taking a break in your room, only with the sounds of the coffee grinding and the door opening and closing but apart from that, it's quiet and relaxed. There is a huge selection of pastry items: pies, a lot of pies, cupcakes galore that are the size of Texas and could steal over any bake sale, muffins and cookies. Tons of choices, ample seating along with windows overlooking Wilson which seems to be the main drag in the town. The coffee hit the spot and I will definitely be marking this place down as somewhere to kick back and enjoy a morning at. read more

I live in the tri-city area and had passed this little corner shop numerous times but had never ventured in until just the other day I saw it on Groupon.com. I purchased two of their coupons on that site and mosied on in later that same day. The interior is very different from your usual corporate run of the mill coffee shops. It's hip and funky. There's a lot of mish moshed art pieces, random magazines and newspapers everywhere and a variety of seating areas. I ordered a turkey and cheese sandwich (comes with sunchips and a chocolate chip cookie!) and an italian lemonade for lunch. (I meant to try their coffee or tea for my first time in, but I was starving when I stopped in!). The lady and daughter team that run this place are so nice! (and the menu here is HUGEEEE)..... The sandwich was yummy and I loved the lemonade! I can't wait to go back and try some more things with my other groupon! I definitely like this place WAY better then any other "coffee shop" i've been in. I happened to stop in about 1-2pm on a thursday afternoon. It was very quiet (only one other customer seated in the place) and people came in and out while I was there (mostly other local business owners and employees getting their daily fix of caffeine).... everyone is friendly with each other and this place has a great "community" feel to it without being boisterous. This place is a gem. We were visiting Batavia and dropped in for breakfast and some coffee. The four cheese quiche was to die for. The service is wonderful and the sense of community in the shop is really cool. We loved it so much that we hung around long enough to eat lunch. We had a Greek salad with chicken and a fruit plate. We should've taken a picture because it was beautiful. If I had to choose between this place and Panera bread I would choose Limestone coffee and tea every time. read more

Looking for a different place to while away a stunning autumn morning I searched for coffee shops close to St. Charles. The earlier review sounded interesting so I decided to check it out. Everything Kandiss P. said is true--Limestone has a welcoming atmosphere, the decor is fun without being cutesy, the pastries are 'homemade' and delish, and the quiche I had for breakfast was good. Having a 'quiet room' in a coffee shop is a great idea also. I'll definitely be back and heartily recommend giving it a try if you haven't been. read more

This is our local Batavia coffee shop. The people who work there are always friendly and their coffee is good. The only thing I don't like is that it isn't served up "fresh from the pot", it's in those pump carafes... ehhh... On a positive note, I adore their baked goods--- DELICIOUS! Wonderful little coffee shop run by a very warm and welcoming family. Their coffee is top notch: not burnt, not acidic, just right. They also have a special "coffee of the day" (usually flavored) that's included in their bottomless cup option. I really enjoy their specialty drinks, especially The Bulldog. I love some Limestone! This place has probably the best macchiato I've had, both iced and hot. The iced carmella was also tasty, but too sweet for my palette. I've also tried a few food items; peanut butter cookie was really good (and huge) but extremely crumbly, so somewhat difficult to eat (or share, in my case). I've also had the veggie hummus wrap, which was tasty and fresh but I'm not sure if I'd order again just because it was like $12 for a 20 oz carmella and wrap. The staff is extremely nice and the ambiance is great. It's very quiet and chill, with artistic touches strewn throughout. They also have a patio out back which overlooks the Fox River. Limestone is hip. Limestone is cool. Art on the walls, the whole bit. They even have a little study room for, studying...? We just played cards in there. It was like being in Alice In Wonderland with the whimsical paint floor to ceiling. Like the other reviewers, I really like the baked goods and they have a Quishe Lorraine that is mouth watering and just the right size for lunch when you're also planning on pairing with a latte. BUT.... the big BUT is.... the coffee itself is not a terrific quality. There, I said it. A little difficult, but I said it. Oddly enough, the coffee mediocreness is not enough to keep me away. The amount of gluten free food options rotating through are nice - had an amazing chocolate peanut butter cookie the other day with my son - we both loved it! Definately not a quiet coffee house. My wife and I stopped here when we had some time to kill. This shop has a good corner location in Batavia and what looks to be a renovated building. It has wood floors and high ceilings. I think that helps to contribute to the loud volume. I ordered my usual Mocha Latte and my wife got a Vanilla Mint Latte. My drink was ok, not bad but also not outstanding. My wife's Vanilla Mint was too sweet. The mint was a peppermint and it really took away any coffee flavor. My wife commented that she should have ordered a double shot to enhance the coffee. The place was fairly busy with many of the sitting areas taken by groups or people rather than individuals. As more arrived the volume increased dramatically and it was hard to concentrate on my book.. When I stop by a coffee shop, I'm usually looking for it to be a little quieter. Just my preference and reading the other reviews, it looks like I'm in the minority. We'll probably stop by again if we are in the area but we won't necessarily go out of our way to come here. The Arcadium in St. Charles is better in my opinion for the non-chain coffee shops. read more
