The only positive thing I can say about Maple Leaf is that it's situated with a beautiful view of the river. As for the rest of the ambiance, walking in i was greeted with the strong smell of burnt food and the whole place is filled with a light smoke from the kitchen. The counters are disorganized, cluttered with boxes and dirty rags. Mariah, my barista, was not the least bit friendly. She made no eye contact the entire time I ordered, and ignored my "thank you" when I picked up my drink. She seemed awfully friendly with her other employees though, as they could be heard hollering and laughing in the kitchen through my entire stay, but i'll try not to take that personally. When I saw "roastery" in the title, I expected the quality of the coffee to reflect the time they apparently put into making it. I was greatly disappointed. The cortado was obviously overextracted and burnt, with little to no foam on top. My tea was given to me dripping and made a mess on the table. Overall quite disappointing. This is a great stop for coffee and they even have gluten free items available. I had the Lavender Vanilla Oatmilk Latte and a gluten free Lavender Mini Bunt cake. Both were delicious treats. The service was excellent and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of free parking in the lot and the interior is very homey. I follow them on Instagram and found out that Alex the manager had Dahlia tubers he was willing to share. I enjoyed talking with him about how he learned to grow them from his father. He was so generous and kind with advice. A good soul for the St Charles Community. They also have a location in Roselle I found out. Support this local coffee shop if you are in the area. I've heard great things about Maple Leaf Coffee in St Charles and they did not disappoint! Their menu highlights their house roasted coffee beans and house-made syrups. They have standard flavors as well as seasonal items but their most popular latte flavors are the Cinnamon-Honey and Maple Vanilla. When asking for flavor suggestions, staff told me their vanilla syrup is the highest quality as the concentrate is premium. I ended up ordering a 16oz Maple Vanilla Latte. I loved that the cost difference between sizes was minimal. The latte was the perfect temp and flavor was phenomenal! This easily has to be my new favorite coffee spot in the tri-city area. My husband got the Spiced Chai Latte which was fresh but not as strong in flavor as preferred. Most customers were taking their drinks to go but there were some high-top tables to sit at. This was a great new coffee find for me and I will certainly be back! One of my favorite coffee shops. I love their selection of house-made syrups and they always have a new assortment of bakery items, including some gluten free and vegan. They had a special valentine's seasonal menu, so I got the white chocolate raspberry cold foam latte and it was so good. I also got the white chocolate raspberry scone to go with it. They have a huge seating area that's perfect for doing work or hanging out with friends. I love the outside seating area with the view of the river. read more

Checked out this coffee shop in St. Charles. It happens to be one of a few to get lattes and whatever around here. Maple Leaf Coffee House has a name that sounds like a place to go when it's cold outside. Also can go there when it's hot actually. The prices get kind of high on a few things. Breakfast is typically when it's busy. It's also got lots of choices at lunch. This is somewhere it turns out we had been before, as it used to be another place for coffee, the former location of Kava Diem which looks mostly the same as it was. A lot more than coffee. It's about $7 for the specialty coffees, which is the bad thing about it. The one I got was the Peppermint Mocha Latte. Full of minty fresh flavor. There's also lots to eat, breakfast and lunch. It's about $16 for the Mediterranean Fusion Bowl. This has avocados, black beans, chickpeas, cucumbers, hummus, rice, and sweet potatoes, along with feta, and yogurt herb dressing which I left off. Having a ton in this helps make up for the high price a bit. There's also plenty of baked items like muffins. Great place with a patio along the Fox River so it's one of the nicer places to go early. I've been here about 3 times in the past few months, the coffee is decent when made correctly. The staff are never warm/friendly or even greet you as you walk in. I stood there smiling and no "Hi, I can take your order". I'm the one who spoke first. So, off to a bad start. Next, all three times i've been there my drink is made incorrectly. Ordered half sweet iced pistachio latte, it came out full sweet. Ordered iced the next time as well, came out hot. Today I ordered pistachio again and once again incorrectly made and printed on the cup- VANILLA. Are the staff doing this on purpose or what is the problem? Very cozy coffee shop with amazing coffee! I was searching for a local coffee roaster a couple of years ago and found Maple Leaf in Roselle. When I found out that the St. Charles location had opened, I had to come (50 minutes from where I live). Awesome coffee (obviously), a nice river view with a patio, and a fireplace inside! I love the cozy location nestled along the Fox River (and a great outdoor deck). The barista Tommy is ALWAYS upbeat and cares about the customer's wants and needs. I really appreciate a positive attitude (it makes everything taste better). I ordered the classic egg and cheese on GF bread (the best I've had anywhere)! This used to be my favorite coffee shop. They offer healthy food and delicious coffee. Over the last year, the service and staff have been so rude. Anyone who takes my order does not appear to want to be at work and makes me feel bad for ordering and being there, without fail. I have looked past this again and again because of their products, esp the gf offerings for my son who has a wheat allergy (and their fun play area for kids). I understand people have bad days and may be struggling at work on any given day. It's the consistency that's shocking to me. Today, the cashier/barista was so rude to me and the gf oat bar we ordered was so hard we threw it away but I didn't dare say anything. As a consumer, I don't want to feel bad for ordering something off your menu. I'll happily over pay for quality and a pleasant environment. I had my book release at MLCH on Sunday 9/7, and Mariah and Carolyn did a fantastic job during the event. Prior to the event, Alex and Brooklyn answered all our questions and took us through all the machinations of the event. Everything went smoothly, the food was terrific, and we felt we were not hurried at the end when there were a few stragglers. I've gone to the coffee house for individual meetings for a couple years, a delight, but this was truly a delightful and professional occasion that served about forty people. It's awesome to have a vegan option that actually serves food vs only bakery items. That's a huge win. Taste was really good. Chickpea scramble had a gritty texture but taste definitely made up for it! Paid 20 for a cappuccino & breakfast sandwich. Plus I left a cash tip upon ordering. As I was waiting for my capp, I see a sign that says free drip coffee on Tuesdays w food purchase. I ask for my free drip as the barista hands me my cappuccino & she says they can't do that. She tells me that I have to ask for it upon ordering but that they can refund my order & start again. I'm thinking that is a lil silly but So be it & I walk back to the register. I explain the situation & am told a flat out "no". My husband and I are big fans of Maple Leaf Coffee Roasters in Roselle: out-of-this world, remarkably delicious coffee. Then we checked out this cafe in St. Charles. Everything we've ordered over our visits has been fabulous: iced coffees, blueberry mojito mocktails, sandwich wraps, avocado toast, veggie burgers. So, we decided to schedule a family event here, of 36 people, for this past weekend. Everything was outstanding! The staff was super friendly and amazing. Again, the food was fabulous, and the coffee bar was a hit! The room & outside deck are truly lovely, very cozy, with a pretty view of the Fox River & the east side of St. Charles.
