Brought my nephew and some of his friends to try this out for the first time. I've been several times and have always had a blast. There website didnt mention that there would be a limit of 3 clues and neither did our game keeper. So of course we ask for the clues in the very beginning because it's always been limitless. Apparantly it's in the video so pay close attention. The game keeper tells me they had to limit it because she was there by herself. I understand COVID sucks and maybe they are short staffs but maybe dont have that many rooms open at once if you have to limit the clues. For context, I've done 40-50 escape rooms. My team completed the Bank Heist room. Theme: The room was pretty immersive. You definitely felt like you were in a bank branch. The puzzles were thematic. Difficulty: My team usually takes most of an hour for a room and have always needed at least one hint. We finished this room in just over half an hour without any hints. This room (and maybe the other ones here) feels like it was designed for children. Good for beginners, not for enthusiasts. Miscellany: The poor GM was watching over 3 rooms by herself. The management should hire more staff. It didn't affect us while we were in the room because we didn't use any hints, but we did feel rushed (through no fault of the GM) during the debrief (puzzle explanation, pictures). Four stars because the room was solid and thematic but too easy and short staffed. read more

"OK" for an Escape Room I've been to a lot of escape rooms in the last 5-6 years, and this one is one of the better ones. However, I also visited a room in Sacramento (Enchambered, I think the name is) and that room blows all other rooms out the water. Limitless Escape Games was the funnest experience I have had I'm many years. I can't say anything about the room! Don't want to ruin it for anyone going but i did the bank heist room and Sienna was an amazing host to the room. I went in actually nervous become I had never done one before and thought we would absolutely suck! But it was the complete opposite! My wife and I had soooo much fun. Do this, even if you don't think that you want to. A friend planned this for a date night with a few other couples (10 people total)This was on my list of things I really didn't feel the need to do. I hated the combo padlock on my high school locker so much that I never even locked it ( 4 years of- who wants my books?) I already feel like a winner when I've escaped my own house, so an Escape Room experience didn't seem entirely necessary. Also- I can be a bit high strung. My heart races as I try and figure out my burrito order when there's a line behind me- AYE Dios Mios! Although you can arrange for a slightly scary escape room, we picked a nice, mild, pirate themed experience. I didn't know what to expect, and I tried to remain open minded. It helped that Chris (I think that was his name) was very welcoming, and friendly. His calm demeanor and thoughtful explanations, were very much appreciated. I think he may have observed my eyeballs popping out of their sockets as I talked myself into actually enjoying this experience. His smile says a thousand words. SO, I'm here to say that this was actually fun, it wasn't stressful, and I felt like a damn hero when I made an important discovery to help us along our way. We laughed at and encouraged one another through the process, team work and different thinking styles were shining like stars. Here's what it's important to know: They don't actually lock you in. It's not pitch black. The host can give you clues if you're stumped. The clues won't make you feel like losers, cheaters, or big giant babies. There were prizes hidden about the room, so that definitely kept it lighthearted. We got stumped a few times and escaped with only 2 minutes to spare. :) Great for team building, great for date night, great for just trying something new. Starting this off with the typical reason why I visited Limitless... Team Bonding! *haha* whilst on a vacation, my coworkers booked a team bonding at limitless. So honestly can't tell you how the booking process is. BUT, the experience was great! We did the Sherlock Holmes room. When we got there we checked in and signed waivers, and was greeted by our host, Julia - who is amazing, and she ran us through the rules, what to expect etc. Also she mentioned if you check in or tag them, you get an additional 5 mins added. (We needed it) The room was fun and with a team of 4 - we completed the escape with 2 minutes to spare. Don't want to give away too much, but let's just say there's secret things that pop out and my coworker screamed because she got scared LOL Will definitely be back with a group of friends because sometimes we need a good brain exercise. so, it was fun. i'd recommend this place for beginners to intermediates. i've done about 6 escape rooms before this and this was probably somewhere in the middle. the best experience i've had was at omescape in richmond and san jose. we did the sherlock holmes room. here are my gripes about limitless: first off, waaaaay too many locks at the same time. it was kind of crazy trying to figure out what codes went to which locks. and with a team of 10, there was just not enough for everyone to do. secondly, because there were so many clues going on at the same time, it's probably better to do this room with 6 or less. i had no idea what was going on the first 30 minutes of the room because everyone had different clues and no one knew what each other had. people were progressing with some locks while others were doing other things so no one really got to follow the whole flow of the puzzles. we got through a good amount of the clues (maybe 60-70%) in the first 15 minutes. that's not so much limitless' fault, just know you shouldn't have too many people in the sherlock room. lastly, and most importantly, it should be impossible to skip steps!! we were able to skip 2 HUGE clues and locks and escape (while being very confused, mind you). that shouldn't be possible. i think the staff helping our room said no one had ever skipped steps before in that room, but honestly, it was something that could have been foreseen. one of the reasons i like omescape and why all escape rooms will forever be compared to it, is that there's a very logical flow of clues and puzzles. everyone's pretty much working on the same puzzle at the same time and there's plenty for everyone to do. i found myself standing around most of the time at limitless because there was either nothing to do or a puzzle didn't need 10 people working on it. it's a good escape room, but i probably wouldn't come here again. read more

We became the sleuthing sisters who went back in time to the 1800's in England where we were embodying the spirit of Sherlock Holmes. We teamed up with a few others and had a blast!! Went with a group of my cousins in the late evening. There was a large parking lot so parking was easy. Once we got in, the team members went into detail on how the Escape Room works. Some of us never done it before. They described the different themes we can choose from. Once we chose the room, he walked us through and described what we should and shouldn't do. For example, there were some things that can't be removed, and there won't ever be a time where we need to break something or pry something off the wall. We had an hour to solve our puzzle. The team leader was very quick whenever we asked for a clue. We were able to finish our Escape Room in less than an hour. The team leader explained to us what we did well and what we needed to work on. With such a large group of people, we had a habit of speaking over each other and we all kept trying to solve our own thing. Overall, it was a good experience. On 8/1 at 8:30 a group of friends and I went for an 8:30 time slow, we were rushed the entire time, got 2 very disappointing, useless clues, the puzzle did not work on the wall, even tho the match was supposed to work, and when we were done, the host explained nothing and just kicked us out. Unfortunately, time was super short and funds were even shorter. And, since there aren't a lot of fun activities that appeal to a variety of ages in Hayward, we looked outside our fair city to others - including Limitless Escape Games in Livermore. Imagine our surprise to get an immediate response! We were thrilled to receive a donated prize, which we raffled off at National Night Out to raise money to pay for new signs in our neighborhood. Half the puzzles weren't working and we had to have our "game master" come in after ever step to release something. 3. The very last part of the puzzle before escaping wouldn't trigger-even though we got it right, and he said we did. I took my nephew and my son last Friday and it was our first time to an escape room game. The facility is clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Especial thanks to the young man, with glasses, who was our game coordinator. He was very patient with us and was understanding when we spilled water on the barrel due to an honest mistake. He kindly took care of it. We had the Pirates game and we very much enjoyed our experience and because of my son and nephew, we did escape! Again, we enjoyed our time. Our first time here but it won't be our last! I had won 2 entrance tickets back in April and waited till the family could all be together to use it. I reached out to them via Facebook messenger to figure out how to claim my prize and make a reservation. Whoever answered my text was very quick, and gave exactly the information I needed to complete my reservation. It was nice to have that go so smoothly and easily. Making the reservation online was a piece of cake. After reading the descriptions of each of the rooms I decided to choose the easier one with the pirate theme since this was our first time here. Reservation and confirmation email received. We arrived 15 minutes ahead of our time as were instructed, and we were greeted by Emma. She walked us through the registration and got us set to start our adventure. I like that they give you lockers to store your stuff in so you don't have to take it with you into the room. Just before it was time to go in we found that the people who were going to be in our group had canceled so it was just the four of us. We got into the pirate room, and Emma explained the rules and how to search for the clues since we were new to this. She was "punny " which made it more fun. We escaped with time to spare! We had to use teamwork, communication, and problem solving. Everyone had fun and made it enjoyable! They were running a special today, if you booked your next adventure you got 20% off. they were very flexible about it as well. We picked a day in July at random, but could change it if we need to. This is the perfect example of an escape room that's so good, that you don't want to escape. Limitless is definitely doing something right, because even with the huge explosion of escape room type events that have sprouted around the Bay Area in the past few years, they manage to stand out. Me and my friends went in completely without an appointment, and were able to be seen almost immediately. We did their Sherlock Holmes room, which proved to be pretty challenging, even for our group which was actually pretty well seasoned when it comes to escape rooms. The room and the puzzles were very well designed, and it was actually pretty gratifying finishing them. Shoutout to Emma too, who was our host of sorts for the entire game room. She kept us entertained with a bunch of silly puns to begin with, and she was also very prompt with giving us hints when they were needed. Overall, a fun experience. Great place for friends, family with kids and coworkers to bond. They are open during this COVID time. The rooms are small, but still easily able to maintain some distance from your party. You have to schedule your appointment & game in advance. They do ask that you come 15 minutes before your appointment, so that they can go over the rules with you. My party was a bit late, so they did not have time to explain the rules to us. Given this was my 1st time, I think that would've been key to having my experience be 5 stars. Since I was clueless when the game began, I took a good 30 minutes before getting it and into it. Apparently, you can only ask for hints 3 times max during the game as the staff, at times, have to run multiple games at once. Whoops, we asked way more than that, again, because we did not know the rules. Luckily, the staff in charge of our game was friendly and gave us more than 3 hints. She also added additional 5 minutes to our game, which was really gracious of her. We did the Wizarding game and it was pretty fun. Great for any Harry Potter fans. read more

This room is a thinker and had less challenges that the pirates but the concept was great. Can't wait to try the wizard school. I went to the escape room with a friend and we tried to conquer the pirate room, but we ran out of time and didn't make it out... maybe 10 more minutes or asking for more clues would have helped, but we got stuck on 1 thing and just couldn't get it to work... IT WAS A BLAST! We had no idea what to expect when we signed up but it was more elaborate and challenging than we thought. Tracy was our escape guide and she was awesome! She was very friendly and made sure we made progress and weren't stuck too bad. We will go back to escape the other rooms, but next time bring a few more people to help us get through. read more

Limitless Escape Games offers 3 different themed adventures lasting 60 minutes each and accommodating 1-10 players per room. I've had a chance to experience both 'Sherlock Holmes: Case of the Baker Street Five' and 'Pirate Adventure: Escape the Kraken' with junior high/high school students and fellow kids-at-heart. Limitless provides a very comfortable and professional experience with clean and creative spaces, knowledgable staff, and clear instructions. I was impressed with the level of difficulty (I only escaped one of the two adventures!) and the themed decor. One area of improvement would be the group photo portion at the end. I love the concept with the props and signs ("We Did It", "My Brain Hurts", etc.), but the actual photo wasn't very clear or well-lit, making it a less valuable souvenir of the $30 per person experience. I do appreciate the 10% discount for booking an entire room and the 5 extra minutes redeemable with a Yelp check-in. Overall, a challenging and exciting team building activity! read more
