Well well well....what do we have here!? A fresh looking place with Mexican food and drinks, IM IN! A set up similar to Chipotle but with a lot more options. Tacos, burritos, tortas, and of course bowls. I ventured to the the bowl life as it was recommend by staff because I was starving. I went white rice, double chicken, and a ton of veggies. What's cool is the Mexican veggie options like pickled onion, and cotija cheese. They have this sweet corn that was pretty flavorful. Did I mention drinks...when I say drinks I mean alcoholic beverages including a full bar with draft beer. We sat on the outside patio at night which was extremely pleasant. Stumbled upon this place while working. I noticed they have an all you can eat fish fry on Fridays which my husband loves. He was very happy with the fish meal. Batter was light and fluffy. The portion of fish is huge. I had the house marg, it was refreshing. Also had the fideo soup which was amazing and the enchiladas were also very tasty. Nice patio which is dog friendly. Very first visit and was very impressed with customer service. Chips and salsa was very good. I enjoyed the crunch on my taquitos. The beef though was a bit dry but still finished everything and tasted just fine. If I could give some positive criticism on the beef taquitos is try finding a way to make it more moist (cringe word) lol. The chicken fajitas was sizzling hot when it came out so that was awesome! Taste was alright, didn't blow my taste buds out of the water or anything. Was told that the owner's grandmother comes in daily to make fresh masa for the tortillas and chips. I can definitely taste the freshness in the two. Would recommend for friendly neighborhood bar! Skip this place. I found myself looking for a quick bite on a Friday night and got right in. That should have been my first clue. Food is marginal at best and awful for other items. I'm not normally one to write reviews, but this was such an atrocious experience, I felt inclined to. I used to enjoy Limón, it was a fresh twist on the popularity of Chipotle, with a bar! However, this is my first time dropping in since the apparent remodel. They have swithched away from the Chipotle look by being a "Dine-In" restaurant, in hopes to drive drink sales and tips, which is understandable. The issue is, the burrito pictured came to $13.97 after guacamole was added. The burrito is approximately 5.5" long, which as most men will tell you, is laughably small. Standard price is $9.99 for all proteins, which means for a standard chicken burrito the price is $3.49 (~+53.7%)more expensive than Chipotle, for a burrito 40% smaller and the same quality. This is egregious, and im sorry to have been gouged for such mediocre product. I can assure you ill never make that mistake again. read more

We ate lunch there today, it was very disappointing to say the least, the food was atrocious not only is it way way over priced but the quality is not up to standard, my burrito was basically nothing but rice and a little bit of carnitas that was definitely old meat, the sopapillas are way over rated, two little sopapillas for eight dollars is disgusting, the only good thing I can say, is that the lady that greeted us was the only good thing of the whole event, I will never go back and never recommend it read more

Ate ther tonight with my family. The service was great and the food quality was really good however they really lack on their food seasoning. My husband and I both ordered the fajitas and we had to salt everything! Right down to the pinto beans. The rice was not good. Their chips were good but the salsa was super bland and needed more salt. Their beer was not as cold as I would like it. It has potential but could be better for sure in the food flavor department. It was a lot like Chipotle but with more topping options, including their take on elote, both fresh and pickled jalapeños, and pickled onions. The table we wanted to sit at hadn't been cleaned - in a while - and had dried salsa on it. Since they weren't cr) very busy, it would have been nice to have all of the tables clean. The happy hour margaritas on tap were just okay, but there were quite a few fresh made options on the menu and the option of tequila flights. We tried this place out on a Monday night. They were not busy, so you'd expect to have some great service, but you'd be wrong. The service was slowwww. Our initial drink orders took a while, then the cocktails took as least as long to show up, but hen we waited and waited to order food. I ordered a water with my margarita which never showed up. The wait for the food oddly wasn't too long, but apparently they only bus tables after you leave, because we had all of our appetizer plates clogging up the table while we ate our entrees all of which remained on the table until after we left, who knows, maybe they're still there? It also took ages to get our check, we thought maybe they forgot we were there. The food was mediocre at best. I had the Enjitomatada which wasn't inedible, but the amount of gristle in the meat was less than impressive. The beans were flavorless and lukewarm. The rice was ok. My wife had a chicken torta. She had one word to describe it: underwhelming. Two stars instead of one only because the margarita was decent and they have a nice patio. We won't go back. read more

Just want to give proper recognition to this establishment. Number 1, it is dog friendly. We LOVE that because on the norm... if we can't take the furry babies with us we can't eat there. So that was a huge plus! This is a family owned business as Erica our server shared with us. She was was the sweetest. It was a bit chilly out and they accommodated us with a heater and the best sunshine table in the patio. The establishment is very clean and well run. We ordered a taco salad with grilled chicken. It was delicious and the chicken was so tender. The food came out promptly. I had a delicious prickly pear margarita as I prefer my drinks on the sweeter side. It was delicious! Her brother was so upbeat and positively energized. I LOVE eating in places where people make you feel welcomed and appreciated, as well as, feeling that they too are enjoying what they do in creating a pleasant experience. I have been enjoying Limon for the last year. Love the prickly pear margaritas and street tacos. Due to Covid-19, I have refrained from going to restaurants except on rare occasions. I went last week with friends and sat outside. It wasn't crowded and the server wore a mask (it is currently mandated in Phoenix), so I felt comfortable going back the following week with my family. Unfortunately, yesterday, our servant (pleasant as she was), was not wearing a mask. As a server, she was above us which meant any aerosol from her would come down to us. I was very disappointed that Limon apparently is not enforcing the mask mandate after all. I'm hesitant as to whether or not we will return during the pandemic. So 5 stars for food and beverage but 1 for pandemic policy, which averages a three. Based on their quick and positive response, I am editing this to a 5. My husband loves that they have Lumberyard Hefe and wants to go back for happy hours. read more

We just moved into the neighborhood, and couldn't be more pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the food at this restaurant. It's almost like eating street food in Los Angeles, and we are so excited that we found a place just like this. We talked with the owners, and apparently they bought out the restaurant three years ago and have totally changed everything. If you haven't Limon recently,, you are missing out on one of the best local Mexican restaurants we have tried. The drinks are handcrafted and the food is made by hand and the service is absolutely incredible. You can DoorDash or come in. Either way, the experience is wonderful. My buddy and I came here today for lunch to celebrate a new job he got. I really wanted to like this place a little more than I did. Perhaps I should have read the past reviews of some of my fellow Yelp'ers before indulging. First, it's a fairly new spot, I guess and not busy at all. We arrived at 11:30 or so this morning. Tons of ample parking and a very clean parking lot on the north end of town right off Dove Valley. Very, very convenient location. The restaurant was clean, the employees were friendly and attentive and the restrooms were equally clean. The decor is bright and vibrant. It's a good chill spot you could probably hang out at after a long day at work. Despite the word "tequila" in their name, I did not have any tequila. So.... the food. I opted for (3) street tacos which is an item on their menu. Like some of my fellow Yelp'ers stated in their reviews, I was hoping this place would have been just a tad more authentic. Don't get me wrong. What Limon does, they do very well, but it's typical Qdoba / Chipotle fare with not a whole lot of authentic-ness (I totally just made that word up.) Perhaps I was expecting a bit more and perhaps I put them up on a pedestal a bit higher than I should have. My corn tortillas fell apart quite easily. The pork carnitas was almost 'wet' in a way. Very difficult and odd to describe, but it was not the typical carnitas that you would be used to here in Arizona. The pico de gallo was quite fresh, but lacking a lot of flavor. Their hot salsa was neither hot nor flavorful, but again, I just think perhaps I was expecting a bit more and Limon fell just a hair short of what I wanted for lunch today. I think stacked up against a Chipotle or Qdoba and Limon is at home among these lunch contenders. But when I think of authentic street tacos, this is not the place I would recommend when trying to entertain or impress out of town guests. In all fairness, perhaps it was an off day. Despite my expectations being unfulfilled, the restaurant is very clean with plenty of ample indoor and outdoor seating areas. The floor was clean and the employees were friendly and polite. Perhaps I will give Limon another try in the near future, but with so many awesome and authentic restaurants here in the Valley - unfortunately, it may not be anytime soon. read more
