Refined Dining with Just a Few Misses at Dopo Argento, Southampton…read more Patrizia and I visited Dopo Argento in Southampton for a Sunday afternoon meal around 1 pm. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made for a calm and enjoyable atmosphere. Starters: We ordered the sourdough bread service (not complimentary), which came with a hummus dip. The bread had a rustic, brick-oven style crust--crispy outside, soft inside--and paired nicely with our appetizer. We then split the Tuna Tartare, which was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. That said, it was served on its own with no chips or crostini, so we ended up using the bread we had ordered. A small touch that would make a big difference. Mains: Patrizia had the Salmon Oreganata. The portion was generous and cooked very well, but it arrived solo on the plate without any sides. We both felt it would shine more with a vegetable or starch--something like spinach, asparagus, or potato. I chose the Paccheri Cacio e Pepe, which was excellent. The pasta was fresh, perfectly al dente, and the sauce had just the right balance of richness and peppery bite. Drinks & Service: We started with two cocktails, then shared a crisp bottle of Italian sparkling water with our meal. Service was warm, efficient, and attentive, adding to the experience. Dessert & Coffee: We finished with the Tiramisu, which was light, fluffy, and not overly sweet, alongside a cappuccino--a perfect close. Overall: Our total came to about $235 for two, and we left a generous tip for the excellent service. We chose to sit indoors since it was too humid outside, but both options are available. We're giving 4 stars because of minor blemishes--the salmon plated all alone, and the tuna tartare lacking an accompaniment. Still, the food was excellent, the vibe relaxed, and the service top-notch. Definitely worth a visit--check it out before the summer ends and see for yourself!.

We were in town for a wedding in Hauppauge & decided to spend an afternoon shopping in Southhampton…read more& visit this popular restaurant in downtown. The vibe was incredible just as I had pictured it in my mind. We were greeted very warmly the moment we walked in. The menu was extensive so it was hard to choose between the entrees as everything looked so delicious. I decided on the 75 Main Chopped Salad. My husband chose the Main Prime Burger with fries & my daughter chose the Fusolini Alla Vodka Telefono. Each of us were completely intoxicated with every bite!! 10/10 all the way around!!!! We were hoping to see a celebrity or two dining alongside us (as this is one of the restaurants known for that) but no luck there. Nevertheless, it was an amazing lunch we will always remember enjoying together. If you get a chance to dine here I highly recommend it! Booking a reservation will make it it seamless. The hostesses even complimented me on my outfit as we were leaving & that made me feel fantastic!! I saw many people dressed casual, but we chose to dress up in case we ended up dining beside others who were the same. Parking was very convenient with two hour limits. We hope to come back again someday as there are so many wonderful places to shop & dine in this area alone. One could easily spend a long weekend here.

And, he's the only true local in this small group. His menu is what I call a "yes please" menu. There isn't anything on it I don't want. The Crab & Tuna Tian is a favorite appetizer of mine. And then I have to decide between Cod, Tile or Black Sea Bass. It isn't easy. Dessert, on the other hand, is easy. The Apple Pecan Caramel Cake. My wife likes the Molten Cake. Winter evenings are especially great with the fireplace burning local locust logs. Creative fresh food, a great wine list of wines you may not know and a romantic setting with great service.

Oops lol It was a quiet Friday evening and Plaza Café is conveniently located near my friend's house there in South Hampton. Being off season, there has been very little traffic and people on the streets. There were only 3 other parties in the restaurant when we walked in. This place is cute, private, has great good food, and service. Their menu is very small, but I was still having trouble deciding what I wanted to eat for dinner. Finally decided on the Tile fish....Yeah I know, I was like. Was told that they're like human beings because they eat just about anything in the sea. No idea if that's true or not, but I'll take it. The dish was light and full of flavor. Tried some of my friend's Salmon/Udon dish and I actually think his was the better choice. The salmon went very well with the udon. Noodles were kind of firm and juices full of flavor. Plenty of parking in their private lot. Looks like they may share it with businesses/hotel in the area. I'd eat here again. The décor and feel was okay, nothing amazing or memorable.
