Went back to give Baby Moon another try. We had a much better time. The staff were friendly. Danielle did a great job. The parking lot was full but the restaurant was only at half capacity. The crowd broke a bit geriatric at 6:30 in the offseason. We were started off with tasty garlic knots and bruschetta. We drank a perfectly fine carafe of the house Chianti. Four of us split a very good large chopped salad. 3 of us had pasta. My friend and I shared pastas. One was a really good orecchiette with sausages and broccoli rabe. We tried bucatini with clams, pesto, olive oil and garlic. It's an unusual combination. It grew on us over the course of the meal. My wife ordered a frankenpasta by adding an ingredient or two to something on the menu. My buddy barely put a dent in his veal parmigiana. Portions were really big. Our experience shows that restaurants deserve a second chance. We will put Baby Moon into our rotation. read more

Experience/Food: First off, I thought that this place was a disappointment considering we were in the Hamptons on a trip with some friends. I expect better and high quality for a restaurant in this area of West Hampton especially for Italian food. I had the penne alla vodka and I thought that it was decent but the flavoring was a little weak for vodka sauce and bland I felt. I got bored of eating my meal about half way through. My friend Jack said nothing stood out to him, he also got the vodka pasta. My friend Josh got the Cesar salad with grilled chicken. He thought it was a very tasty salad, good salad dressing and portions, but the croutons were a little burnt, he said. My friend Thomas got the chicken parm for dinner, he said the cheese was very fresh as well as the sauce but the chicken was a little tough. My friend James got the veal Parmesan, he thought it was really good. My friend got the veal piccata he said it was great. My friend Curbs consumed his veal piccata really fast because of how delicious it was to him. My friend Alex got the chicken francese but it took him a while to get it, it was mid for the price but it was good. Overall almost everyone thought the food was decently good. Service: The service was decently fast for everyone except for my food which was a little slower than the rest which was the penne alla vodka and also my friend Alex's food which was the chicken francese. Food is very good. They do a great job with salads, which are often an afterthought at Italian restaurants. Prepared dishes are made to order, using quality ingredients. The pizza is good, but not good enough to stand out in a very competitive market. Not sure about service as we have been here three times and always seem to catch them between shifts which leaves one person in front of house to do it all. Pricing is very reasonable (considering prices everywhere are batshit crazy) and portions are generous, often large enough for sharing. read more

My family has been coming here for 40 years and the food has been consistently good. It's a great place for the family and kids. Last night we came with just the adults & had a great time sitting outdoors. We started with grilled calamari with pesto, very tender & flavorful My honey had the seafood fettuccine fra diabolo. He loved it. I had to bolognese over gluten free pasta (best gluten free pasta I've ever had!!), my brother had salmon & bowtie marinara, my sister had shrimp fr diabolo and baked clams to start. We all enjoyed what we had! Ever seat in the house was full, the service was great, we quickly received our food. We brought two bottles of wine & paid the $25 corkage fee. Baby Moon has been around for over 50 years now and it was pretty busy even after 8:30 on a Thursday when we came here, so they must be doing something right. The mini pizzas are actually really big compared to personal pies at some other places I've been to. I had plenty to bring home for another full meal. The prosciutto and arugula tasted pretty fresh. My one comment would be that some people might want a bit more cheese on their mini pizzas than mine had. Baby Moon has a big menu nowadays so I look forward to trying some other things there in the future. read more

My husband's family has been ordering pizza from this establishment on and off for over 35 years. Consistently good. Today on our long drive, we decided dine in - large location with a lovely large outside patio and sparkly inviting string lights everywhere. Our waiter was delightful and friendly. Food was pretty good - free bruschetta and garlic knots to start, we ordered a small mini pizza to share and baked eggplant. The eggplant was very tasty but could have come out a little warmer and gooier. Pizza was also good but needed more cheese. This place has been a family favorite for DECADES. We came here every summer, at least once, often more. But I hadn't been back for years, and then my brother treated us to dinner. There was a lovely welcome appetizer of bruschetta and garlic knots! Worth puffy allergy face! Both were yummy. They have gluten-free options! Woohoo!!! Both pasta or unbreaded versions of some things. I had the gluten-free version of eggplant parmigiana, since I hadn't had that in AGES. It was delicious, came with a side of gluten-free pasta, and the portion was enormous. The leftovers provided two more meals for me! The sauce was very good. I don't remember if I like their pizza. Maybe? I know that I've had it. We also had a nice bottle of wine. Service was flawless. The place was packed, but not overly noisy. Tables are well-spaced. It's a nice, unpretentious restaurant. Very rare, that a restaurant blows me away. This restaurant did just that. The food was incredible. The appetizers were on point. We had the baby eggplant, fried calamari, and the fried mozzarella. All of which were soooo good. Something as simple as the garlic knots, we had to order more. I'm from Brooklyn, so we know garlic knots, these were 10/10. As an entree, we got the vodka pasta, chicken parm's and the salmon. Cooked to perfection. The sauce is the best I've had on Long Island, by far. The service was so good and everyone was so friendly. Get the ravioli and I guarantee you'll think you had better ones at Trader Joe's. And for the joy of eating supermarket pasta you pay about 25 bucks a plate assuming there is no protein on there. But it gets better. If it's raining they're not exactly keen on helping you move inside. And when you do get inside whoever built the joint must have had a goal of making this a concert venue because you can't hear a thing; my theory is they have way too much tile action going on in here and noise bounces everywhere. Why do servers look so "put out" at restaurants in general and at Baby Moon in particular. I felt like our friend and I were an inconvenience to our server who couldn't wait to get back to her conversation with co-workers at the bar. Do the owners of Baby Moon realize how much business they are losing with their "attitudes"? We came from Manhattan today on the recommendation of a good friend who lives in the area. I wasn't sure what to expect when my father in law took us to Baby Moon since I'm an avid reader of Yelp and they didn't have great reviews. He said it was his favorite restaurant in WHB and so we all went. What I didn't expect was a lovely and totally delicious experience that made no sense based on the reviews that I'd read. The food was WONDERFUL- so fresh and delicious. Even my infant quietly ate up my baby eggplant appetizer (beautiful vibrant red sauce and delicate eggplants) and branzino (so so tender and juicy!) barely making a peep the whole time. Topped it off with a tiramisu at the end that was just delicious. The servers were patient and friendly with our somewhat crazy table and very accommodating. The atmosphere was lovely as well with a mix of families and dates around us. We didn't feel out of place with our baby there like a lot of restaurants would make us feel. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and really looked forward to writing this review and giving them the credit they deserve. read more

Every time we order a pie from here, it is fantastic. One of my fave pizzerias one the east end. Their pie is great and I love their sauce, it's not overtly sweet or acidic. Baby Moon benefits from being one of the only Italian restaurants in the area. Stop in on a summer weekend, and the dining room will be full, the phone will be ringing off the hook, and the line for takeout will extend out the door. It's not surprising though, as the food is usually good. The paccheri pasta with goat cheese and bread crumbs? Money. The linguini with clam sauce? Not bad. The pepperoni and mushroom pies have actual fresh mushrooms, as opposed to those slimy canned things that most pizza joints will offer. You also seemingly get an entire loaf of Italian bread with each pasta order. Gotta love Italians and their proper views on carbs (they are delicious, and should be consumed whenever possible). However, in case you were wondering, there's a reason there are no prices on the menu online. It's not cheap. Two pastas, a small pizza and a salad ran well over $100. Like I said about Tonino's, their pizza competition (I imagine), anytime a town has a "Beach" in its name, it's going to be expensive. If there's also a "Hampton," you're going to have a bad time. But unless you're cooking for yourself, your options are a bit limited, so suck it up. At least Baby Moon does takeout efficiently. They'll call your name out when your order's up, and send you on your way with a big cardboard box (instead of a bunch of bags) filled with your overpriced order so you can take it back and eat it at your overpriced beach house. Must be one of the worst restaurants I've eaten in in my life we had reservations, and they still made us wait an hour after they seated us they said that someone else wanted that table and we had to move. They put us on the table that was filthy with pasta on the seats and floor, we had a nasty waitress but after we ordered and the food came that was when it really got bad I ordered something very simple and standard shrimp parmesan. I don't know where they got the chef from but where in the world do they think it's OK to serve shrimp Parmesan with the tails still on the shrimp that's covered with cheese I really don't enjoy eating the tails I've never seen that in any restaurant in my life, I'm trying to think of something nice to say well the parking attendants were nice read more
