Prices of seafood are comparable to those of other high-end grocery stores on the Island, such as Wegmans and Whole Foods Market, but Citarella has a larger section of wild caught fish; for example, I do not see Wild Caught Ceviche anywhere but here. The store has other things that I want: gourmet cheese, smoked salmon, caviar, Wagyu beef, nice homemade soups, etc. Everything always looks fresh. Staff gives expert advice and stellar service. Today Zaheer, from the butcher chop, took my order and did an excellent job. Lastly, there are small tables outside to dine. You will find everything you need here for a quick lunch. The food was excellent! We went on a Saturday night and they had live music. The place wasn't overly crowded and it was a really great for a summer date. I definitely recommend checking out the Station Bar if you're in the area, or even taking the ride just to enjoy some fresh seafood and a couple of beers while sitting on the canal.

The owner had absolutely no empathy for loyal customers who have given good business in the past and our situation, he asked what he should do with the food when we said we wouldn't be able to make it, and told us when we return he will charge us for the total of our order (2 platters - probably $45+). Between this and their outrageously high prices that we usually settle for over convenience and decent food, we will not be coming back here. It's a shame how greedy and unkind people have become nowadays.

Next time we visit I plan to try the turkey club. I know that we're in the Hamptons so I expected prices to be high, but I was a little surprised by the bill . For three veggie omelettes one BLT sandwich and a side of onion rings, 2 cokes 2 iced teas the bill was $88 . We tipped 20% on top of that so it was over $100. This is a nice little place w good service and food. By the way, they only take cash . There is a ATM with a three dollar charge inside the restaurant. 3 1/2 STARS
