Scotto's recently catered our party and I would STRONGLY recommend you use another caterer! They were non -responsive and rude throughout the process and they misrepresented what they could provide. Their portions were unacceptable and the presentation of the food was weak; the salmon was a cut into tiny pieces as was the skirt steak. It looked cheap. . They charged a small fortune to provide set up staff that left early and didn't help with clean up. They omitted some dessert items, which was documented in an email, and claimed we had canceled them. They are clearly a food "drop off" service and don't know a thing about event planning. Delicious pizza right along the main street area. They have so many different items on their menu, but the pizza I ordered was very good. It tasted fresh, flavorful, and amazing. Used to be our favorite pizza in town, until today. Photos show the difference between a couple years ago and today. I have many photos of their pizzas which I would use to brag to my friends; until today. We usually get a half mushroom, half pepperoni and they have been divine. Until today. They switched from using thick pepperoni to skinny sticks, and only are using about 25% of what they used to. This place was recommended by a friend as a local place with home cooked - esque meals. I have to say that it did have a very comfort food vibe to it. The food is overall very gluttonous in a greasy way but on a freezing day, it hits the spot! Food: we ordered the white pizza, rice balls, calamari, and pasta. The white pizza was delicious and filled with ricotta which I love. The rice balls had beef in them, which was not specified in the menu. The pasta was very oily and could have used more salt but still good. Service: honestly not the best. They had confirmed the order and then told us they didn't have something we ordered. Ordered an Italian hero to-go and could not believe how huge this thing was. It legit took me three days to finish, it was that stacked with cold cuts, cheese, hot peppers and oil and vinegar. Scotto's itself is a small shop with a variety of sandwich, pizza and prepared food options. There's seating here if you'd rather stay and enjoy your food, but the bulk of their business seems to be to-go orders. I stopped in right before they were closing and was able to get my sandwich quickly made. Their freezer options of premade meals were also tempting - they have any kind of pasta you could possibly want along with Italian staples like chicken and eggplant parm ready to go -- all you have to do is stick them in the oven. The salad options (macaroni, potato, marinated mushrooms, etc.) were a little lacking in my opinion, but this could also be because I went at the end of the day. Scottos is one of the few authentic mom and pop Italian places you can find In the Hampton's. Everything they have is fresh and delicious and they never skimp on the portions. To start they have the best pizza I've had in the Hampton's. Broccoli rabe with sausage and a thin but crunchy crust held together despite the heavy toppings I finished off with the Combo sandwich (mortadella, prosciutto, mozz + pickled peppers and olives on a baguette) which really hit the spot. Haven't had a sandwich like that anywhere else. Not cheap but not too expensive either. The sandwiches are big enough on their own for a meal for the average person. Sausage is $13.99, and was not even fresh. Prices are double and triple in comparison to similar Italian stores. If the quality was outstanding, you could perhaps justify the cost. There's something about old school Italian aka old world recipes. The old country is alive here. The professionalism, cleanliness, customer service, quality, taste, ease of parking, location and atmosphere are amazing. Also Sesame cookies that mom used to love are prevalent here. Business must be really good at Scotto's Pork Store to turn customers away. I needed to buy a quarter lb each of ground pork, veal and chuck for a very specific recipe. I did not need any more than that. The woman behind the counter said minimum was a half pound of each. So I left. I wanted to give my business to a locally owned business but wound up going into Southampton to that well known gourmet specialty market where they are happy to sell me whatever amount I need. That being said I purchased a bunch of other Italian specialty items at the Gourmet market in Southampton. I love this place even more in January... when every place is moping and depressed - Scotto's is busy because they are good.. the people were all super helpful, even went in the back and gave me some fresh basil for my fresh mozzerella - which I needed out here...... Scotto's Pork Store. A pork store isn't normally on my wish list of places to grab some grub but, I suggest you add it to yours, and here's why; I was "out east" enjoying the beautiful weather and the St. Patrick's parade, when I saw a sign that read, "$1 slices during parade"... they were going like hotcakes and a buck was all it cost, no tax, just a simple dollar for one of the largest slices I've seen. This slice wasn't just large in size, the flavor was as big as can be. Saucy, cheesy, and quite yummy for a buck; seeing just one slice, I would have to imagine ordering an entire pie would be a great deal even at the normal price, above $1 a slice. This pork store is not just that; they have what looks to be, quite an extensive menu for not only catering, but daily dining as well. read more
