The food is very good. The menu offers all of the highlights of an Italian Pizzeria. I had the chicken parm with angel hair pasta. All good. The pizza is good as well. But the service is just weird. It was about 28 degrees outside and we sat in the dining room (versus the pizza area in front.) We had to keep our hats and coats on because there was no heat in the room. Finally we asked if they'd turn it on. They did. Kinda. For a little while. Then it was off again. The garlic knots came out and were very good. But no plates. I asked if they bring out plates with apps. The server answered, "no". Okayyyy? No napkins with the chicken wings. (We asked and she did bring them). No silverware. (We asked. She brought it.) The evening went kind of like that. Weird. The server was a sweet girl, but completely unaware of what to do. And she's not that new. We were extremely satisfied and full on Wednesday night before Thanksgiving (11/26/25). There were 10 of us and were able to eat in the beautiful private dining room. Due to the sheer number of us, we had quite a variety of food and drinks, and everything was superb, right down to the service. There was a great variety of appetizers.. the calamari and bruschetta were my favorites. Don't remember formal names, but the Seafood pasta was loaded with/various seafoods and delicious. Went with a group of 8 and ordered All the salads, a pie of grandma slice, eggplant parm platter with spaghetti (best), buffalo wings (awesome), garlic knots which I didn't get to try because I had pasta. Was super happy with everything. We ate in the back room which was stunning for events and large parties. Wish I took more pics of the room and food but we were hungry and attacked it when it came out. It was wrong, I said I repeated myself 6 times, how could they get it wrong? By the way, music was blasting, no wonder she couldn't hear me! I decided to keep the pie, instead of waiting for new one. Not horrible but.... Ordered 2 pies late. I know, I know, dick move, but we were starving and I asked if it was ok first. I arrived 10 minutes early so I didn't keep them waiting. Paid my bill and threw a $10 in the tip jar since they were very sweet about making food so late. As they were almost boxing up the pies I asked for pepper flakes and cheese to go. One of the counter girls, obviously new, asked for here to get them. A more seasoned employee came over apologizing for the additional charges. .75 a small plastic container. .50 for garlic powder. .75 for cheese filled halfway. I'm talking really small containers. My buddy asked if the charge for condiments if we ate there. No, she said. So if we eat there the cheese was free but to go is .75 cents. I paid for that, but I gotta say that's obscene. It's the equivalent of getting a cheeseburger and fries to go and paying extra for ketchup. The goodwill gained by making us a pie at 9:35pm when they close at 10pm was completely lost. In fact now I was extremely annoyed. I let the young lady know how I felt, that it wasn't her and asked she tell the owner. Still bothered this morning I told the story a few times and the people listening said it was crazy too and will stay away. Stop gouging your customers... I know I'm a tourist, but there plenty of places to anting our money. Oh!!! The pizza? Meh. Not stretched by hand. Too much corn meal on the bottom. Not grande cheese. A pretty forgettable night to be honest. We walked in at 7:20 pm for my birthday last night (Wednesday). We asked if we could sit for a meal, they told us that we could but kitchen would close in 20 minutes. They also offered us to do takeout. This should have been warning enough for the night coming. We ordered mozzarella sticks and calamari as starters. They were both delicious. I would recommend. Our son had 2 nice slices of cheese pizza. He enjoyed. I ordered shrimp parm with penne alla vodka. It tasted odd at first, not like any penne alla vodka I've ever had. It took a moment then realized it was well seasoned with garlic. It is rare for me to send food back, and this was still edible. So I continued. My fiancée's meal on the other hand was not edible. She didn't have the heart to send it back. She ordered a Ziti Al Forno. We never could figure out what was wrong with it. It tasted like something in the pasta had turned. We didn't really have the option to send any dishes back anyway, with the kitchen already closed. It's safe to say that I would not recommend. Sorry uncle Joe, i know you for years and i know how much you care for your place, but this time i have to say something; i order fry calamari with spicy marinara , the girl told me they di nit have "spicy marinara" on my arrival i show her how to do it, just adding some chili flakes from the dispenser on the table! Tye calamari was horrible!!! Totally overcooked and hard like a rock ( all you need is to keep them on milk one night !!) my son is here from Italy with the desire for pizza and once at home he ask me: dad is this tomato and bread cake? The place look great after the renovation , but where is the girl that was there for years? She was great!! Welcome to my review of Uncle Joe's in Hampton Bays. I will start by dying that I have read the prior reviews and will now give you my straight up review. Upon entering through the parking lot entrance, the restaurant is a very warm and friendly place with a rustic ambiance of brick and stone. They have a nice private dining room on the highway side. We were met by uncle Joe who was very nice, personable and great to talk with. We were talking about Italy and our roots. We received a nice basket of bread and a marinated zucchini to start. For dinner, we started with the fried Calamari with tomatoe sauce which was nice and tender, and a nice portion. Rings only (I like tentacles too). The main entrees were.... Chicken Florentine, 3 nice cutlets cooked to perfection, Veal Rollatine.... outstanding and I had the linguini pescatore which was amazing. It was a very nice portion of linguini with a lobster tail, shrimp, calamari and scungilli. This dish was so delicious and tasty. Jean Marie, our waitress was just amazing and took great care of us, and our night talking with uncle Joe was just the best. I highly recommend Uncle Joes!!!!! read more

Not a bad place! We came here in the midst of COVID-19 and had to wear a mask to enter. We ordered two slices of pizza and two penne a la vodka dishes, part of a dinner deal. Be aware that the pizza special is only good until 4pm on weekdays, and this fact is only written on a piece of paper taped inside, not anywhere outside. However, despite the false advertising, the pizza was perfectly well-done and flavorful and we were able to eat for two nights with the penne a la vodka, which was a little creamier than I prefer, but still was a good dinner choice. Been going to Uncle Joes forever. Came in with my wife and ordered two slices on a Saturday at 6 pm. No customers were there. Pizza looked like it was sitting out for days. They reheated the pizza which tasted dry, hard and we ended up throwing it out after one bite. If I were Uncle Joes I would take my name off the business. By far the best southern Italian restaurant on the East End. Besides a large array of pizzas the menu features all the fav red sauce Italian dishes. We started with terrific Caesar salads, sparkling and fresh, then Chicken Francese and Chicken Marsala both fantastic, perfectly prepared and such large portions we took half of each home for dinner the next night. First time ordered spaghetti bolognese, garlic knots. Garlics knots were good. Bolognese was just ok, kind of bland. $40 for one order of Bolognese, 6 garlic knots and two sodas. Second visit ordered 2 Greek salads with chicken. First bite into the chicken in my salad- it didn't seem cooked enough, but the rest was fine. Neither salad arrived with with feta, as advertised. Asked for feta and what came was bland. Rosemary bread was good. Two salads with chicken and two sodas, $58. Mediocre service. Waitress seemed new or not trained enough. I have eaten twice at Uncle Joe's. The food is always great and the new renovations have made the place look amazing. The staff is very friendly. I walked in to pick up food and was ignored for 10 minutes after I paid. The girl behind the counter went to put away a mop instead of giving me my order. When she actually took the time to speak with me again she handed me the food. When I arrived home the order was totally wrong. When I called to have this corrected they offered me a ridicules discount. They can keep their discount and their horrible food. I threw it out and will not ever go back.
