This is a short walk from the marina, so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, the bar was packed, but the dining room was still empty. Portions were ample and overall, we liked our meals. We started with appetizers to share. I ordered ravioli, they wouldn't split it in the kitchen. It was cooked correctly, but the crab and lobster filling tasted just okay. We followed that with a 2.5 pound steamed lobster. They did agree to cut the corn on the cob in half. For dessert, we had cherry pie. Don't order this. It was soggy. Service was practically nonexistent. My companions felt it was because they were understaffed, not incompetent. Note: There are different prices for cash or charge. read more

The Blend is a Springs neighborhood gem. The ambiance is friendly and informal. Chef Luis consistently prepares delicious meals, always cooked to perfection. Among my favorites are roast duck, lamb shanks and veal shanks. The salmon is also delicious. Portions are always huge - most diners take home leftovers for the next day's lunch. I like to dine at the bar where everyone is friendly and chatty. Not sure why Yelp lists The Blend's cuisine as Italian. While Chef Luis makes excellent made-to-order pizza, the overall menu is not Italian. The cuisine is largely Continental with several Asían menu options, too. What an adorable little hidden gem that surprises tourists and locals alike with really good food at very affordable prices! This might be one of the least expensive (yet still 3.5 star quality) dinner options around East Hampton! We arrived on a Monday evening at 7:30pm to an adorable, local, very summer themed restaurant with a small bar and seating in the main dining area for 30-40 people. The waitress told us we would need to wait 20 minutes as they were short staffed and the kitchen was backed up. Sadly my dad has bad knees so my mom asked if we could just sit at a table and wait instead because there were no seats at the bar. They came back to us a few minutes later and said that was fine, but we couldn't put any food in for 20-30 minutes. We said that wouldn't be an issue. They then sat us down and handed us multiple menus from wines by the bottle to the pre-fix menu to the regular menu to their lobster and side dishes menu. There were a lot of options to choose from! My family was overjoyed to see a pre-fix menu for $35 (and select bottles of wine for $25) in the Hamptons no less. We started off with a bottle of Prosecco for $25 (not a bad deal), and then I went with the burrata with honey and truffle to start which was great and very filling and the fresh caught salmon with roasted potatoes as my main. I ended up taking almost my entire entree home I was so full. Everyone in my family was very happy with what they ordered. My mom also took a key lime pie slice to go and said it was delicious. I would say if you're looking for a local, family-run spot, you will be happy. If you want a lavish and sexy restaurant like 11 Mad Park or East Hampton Grill, this place will not satisfy you. read more

Like Scott K. of Essex, CT I too was recently at The Blend, perhaps at the same time as there was a couple there making an unfounded disruption in the dining room. His complaint is a farce. We overheard him berating the waitress, demanding to see the manager when he had been told there was no manager, announcing to the restaurant that he would not be leaving any gratuity, and most reprehensibly making racial slurs directed at the wait staff. He should have been thrown out of the restaurant. Apparently all over the timing of his entree? Our experience was entirely different. Our food was delicious, the fish was well seasoned and certainly fresh. Service was a little slow but what restaurant worth it's salt isn't these days? You want fast, go to McDonald's. The food was definitely worth waiting for. I had the fluke and my husband steak. Each entree was perfectly seasoned and presented beautifully. Couldn't ask for a better meal. All the food was excellent. and the service, despite being a bit slow could not be more pleasant. Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely return. read more

Disappointing. We went on a Tuesday night at 7, and the place was pretty empty. The interior was drab and depressing, no ambiance, no water view, unlike many restaurants on Three Mile Harbor Rd. And yet the prices were full on East Hampton. Our server was pleasant, but she seemed confused by questions we were asking about the menu. The menu is extensive, as was the list of specials. It took at least 20 minutes to get our appetizers, a dozen oysters for me and a pear and Gorgonzola salad for my wife. The timing between appetizers and entrees was fine, but then the service hit a wall. Our server disappeared. No dessert menus, despite the fact that we already had our leftover food wrapped ip and ready to go. After 10 minutes we just got a check and left. Like i said, disappointing. The food was sold. Not exceptional, hut very good, and the portions were large. The pear and Gorgonzola salad was served warm, which was a little odd, with warm endive and gorgonzola, and roasted pear. It was huge for an appetizer, but IMO, it would have been more interesting cold. Don't like warm salads. I was not hungry, so i ordered a Ceasar salad for my main course. It was pretty good, and it was fairly large, but the bowl it came in was barely large enough to hold it, so the process of cutting up the anchovies and mixing them in the salad dumped a lot of my romaine onto the table. My wife ordered the "one pound of shrimp scampi" over pasta. It was large, as advertised, and it was fine. The scampi sauce was tasty on the pasta, but the charred taste of the grilled shrimp overpowered the scampi on the protein itself. As i mentioned, we planned on having dessert, and when we looked at the menu on the way out there were some interesting items, but we just got tired of waiting. Overall, 2 for service 3.5 for food, 3 for ambiance. Probably not going back. read more

We went there last night for a birthday. Let me start by saying people suck and don't show up to work. That left the owner and his wife along with one person in the kitchen to work. The service was a little slow but the worked the asses off. The food was worth the wait. We had a steak, prime rib, salmon, and I being low brow had a burger. All were excellent. I told them it was my brothers birthday, and they brought out a couple of slices of cake no charge. I recommend this place. The food was great and the owners are nice people. read more

A Monday night with not many options and we chose to try out The Blend. The ambience is very local. It was a quiet night. We were one of only two tables when we arrived with a few at the bar. The staff was friendly enough, but seemed a little lost. We ordered an appetizer and four entrées. The food came out fairly quickly, although the appetizer came out with the entrées. I will say the Four entrées we got were all very good quality, taste and very large portions. Unfortunately the staff seem to be in training or just not familiar with the menu and course of service. We ordered two drinks from the bar when the meals arrived and waited all the way until we got the check with no drinks then had to have the drinks removed from the bill as they did not even realize that they hadn't gotten them for us. We sat easily for 20 to 30 minutes with no staff interaction as we finished our entrées. Perhaps it was an off night but would definitely like to see their service improve. I can't imagine how it would be on a busy night. The food was very good as I said ..but $200 with very little wait staff service is a little difficult to swallow. Also, we were we poured tapwater and charged for bottled. Keep an eye on your final check. May Have just been an oversight but did not want to wait additional time to get the check corrected so I just paid the eight extra dollars for tap water. They have been around for a few years, so maybe it was just an off night. Not sure that I will be going back though. read more

Hey all. Very good restaraunt. Service was good. People are friendly. One thing I would say for people reading reviews, be careful. Some people give only bad reviews. I tell it like it is with the hopes of giving helpful advice. They were most accommodating of a large party by putting us in a side temperature controlled room. Hippy. The waiter was exceptional. Though it did the food a while to come out. The wait staff was attentive. Regular menu is pretty large. Check the specials. I had the duck on the specials menus. Knocked it out of the park. Soft. Moist and exceptional. The tuna carpaccio was okay. Could have been sliced a bit thinner but who is arguing. Anything with aoli dressing is killer. Whatever u do don't fill up on the bread. This is the first time I've ever written a review. The Blend offered the worst service that I've ever experienced in a restaurant, any where in the world. We had a table of six at 6:00 on a Friday night. When we were seated, there was only one other table of six. The rest of the restaurant was empty, so hardly in the weeds as they say. Some of our party ordered just appetizers, some just entrees. I order both. The waitress came back to say there was a $15.00 pp charge for sharing. We told her that we weren't sharing and to just bring everything. Everything came out except two entrees. Our dinning companions waited and waited for our entrees to arrive. We insisted they start. We flagged the waitress four times asking about our entrees. No respons. 20 minutes go by and our companions we're finishing. Still no entrees. Four times we asked for the manager. No response. Then we find out there is no manager, just the owner. When would you like to see him, she asked. How about now. In the mean time, while eating my mushroom appetizer, I found a small stone in the dish, which I presented to the waitress. When the owner finally made an appearance, he blamed it on not being able to get good help. I blame it on his lack of training his help. He said he wouldn't charge us for the two meals that never arrived and I told him that I wouldn't be paying for the appetizer. I asked him if he would have preferred to pay a dental bill if I had broken a tooth? He relented and took the appetizer off out bill. As for the food, my wife's fluke was bland as was the rice with it. Our companion's shrimp tempura was dry and way over cooked. No bread was served and their "specialty" cocktails were more simple syrup than alcohol. The final straw was the fact that the owner never apologized or offered any compensation. Buyer beware! They will charge you a $10 up charge if you order an appetizer as entre and $15 if you choose to share an entre. Now they give huge portions and 85% of the time the food is great. But ask questions! We both ordered the chicken thinking it would be a chicken breast. We both got an entire chicken!. Why couldn't they tell us we were both getting a whole chicken? Also the ribs... I have never in my life had to pull huge pieces of cartilage from in between each rib. Someone could not be bothered to properly clean the ribs. The mushroom raviolis.. clearly state they have ricotta but sadly no, just huge chunks of unseasoned mushrooms. The owner refuses to give exceptions to any meal so you must be fine with everything. Now service.. extremely slow. And basically non existent waitstaff. The bartender.. very slow. But always looks rushed. Overall, you can have a very good meal here BUT be wary of all the fine print and you must ask questions before ordering. Also I would do a little more non seafood dishes. If it's not seafood it's mushrooms. Needs to expand his horizons read more

The service is pretty bad here. We are local and have eaten at the restaurant a number of times as well as ordered from them a few times. The food isn't bad though the place could use a serious update. Anyhow, the last time I called them at 7:00 pm to order food. They told me to call back at 8:00 pm because they are too busy. We said "ok," waited and called back at 8:00 pm. Brian said "No, sorry still too busy. Not taking orders tonight". After saying that he specifically told me to call back at 8:00, he said "Sorry cant help you" and then abruptly hung up the phone. There are plenty of other restaurants in East Hampton without rude service, so I recommend skipping this one until they get their act together or change management (whichever comes first). read more

I go out quite often for dinner and thought I'd try this place. Went with my sister on a Sunday night. I gotta say the food was excellent! And large portions too. I ordered the prime rib w/ mashed potatoes & green beans. The meat was perfect, the potatoes were so good! I loved it. Then we had coffee and shared a Tiramisu. It was awesome! with whip cream & fresh berries. The coffee was good too. Can't wait to tell all my friends about the great experience we had there and will go back soon. They are having a Thanksgiving special that I might go to as well. You have to make a reservation for that. I recommend it. read more

I am a true local, born and raised in East Hampton. I have gone to The Blend a few times for dinner and while the portions are big, the service is lackluster. It takes a very long time in between getting your courses. Last night I was at the restaurant with my Mom and two of my sisters which was supposed to be a nice birthday celebration for me. There are rolls served after the drink order, one of which I cut in half and buttered. THANKFULLY I pulled the roll apart, rather than taking a bite into it, and there was a three-inch carpenter's nail imbedded in my roll. I discretely brought the plate with the nail still stuck in the bread to the bar and quietly asked the owner if I could speak to him. I chose not to make a loud comment in front of a packed restaurant, giving him the curtesy. His response was " How the hell did that happen" to which I said, "I do not know:" This could have been very dangerous if I had swallowed it, broken a tooth, pierced my mouth..tetnus shot?!? The waitress came over and gave us another basket of rolls "from another bag of bread". I could not bring myself to even look at the second offering of rolls let alone touch my meal when it was served. The waitress nor the owner paid attention enough to even ask if there was a reason that I did not touch my salad, ask if it was OK or if she could get me something else. The bill arrived and it was over $300.00. My younger sister who graciously paid for our meals, left a $20 tip with a note that we could've done without the nail. The waitress then followed us out of the restaurant and in front of other diners that were leaving, proceeded to complain about her nominal tip. Stating that it was not the restaurants' fault, as they get the rolls from a company. Regardless THEY served the rolls and had to heat them prior to serving them.. It was brought to their attention. They did not care enough to comp even my seltzer. This was NOT handled professionally AT ALL. . I will not return. FYI I do NOT know why this review is saying that I posted this from CA as I reside and live in EH. read more
