Dr. Lin is amazing! I had a rather serious work injury last year that resulted in the loss of 3 teeth and deep cuts on my lower lip that had tooth fragments deep inside. I cannot stress enough how amazing this office is. I had a very bad toothache that I started feeling on Friday evening that progressed into the weekend I had to go to the ER by Sunday it was so bad. My ER doctor there recommended me to Dr. Lin as she goes to him for dental work. I am so happy I took her advice. Prior to my ER visit I had made an appt for Western Dental as they were the soonest booking so I went and they were so bad. My appt was for 9:30 that Monday, I sat in the exam room for 2 HOURS! When the Dr finally came she looked at my tooth for 3 minutes tops and said "yeah you gotta get this removed it's gonna be about $480 plus you need xyz done so it'll be 1780 total" OUTRAGEOUS. I booked the appt but something in my gut said try the other doctor. I'm so happy I did. I called the next day and they booked me an exam appt SAME DAY, he was quick to see me, went through numerous options for me in great detail and overall the staff was so friendly and kind. From the dental assistant to the financial coordinator they were sweet and accomodating and understanding. Also I was in and out in less than an hour. I got an infection to my wisdom teeth that was pretty painful. After contacting my usual dentist I contacted Dr Michael for help. Dr Michal was very accommodating to accept me during the same day of my emergency and remove the wisdom teeth that was creating the problem. My 24 month old son fell into a slide face first and dislodged one of his front teeth so much threat it was sticking almost straight out. Being first time parents, my husband and I were absolutely panicked. We rushed him to urgent care who then referred us to Dr Lin. He was there waiting for us when we arrived on a Saturday evening. He staff was very friendly and accommodating making my son feel as if nothing had happened. They have some fish, children's books and stickers/small toys for children. They fully explained our options for his mouth and we opted for having it completely removed. It took less than 10 seconds for this take take place. My son cried from the initial pain but was immediately comforted by the staff and sticker collection. Today we visited for a follow up appointment, and Dr. Lin made him some balloon animals out of gloves and even let him color his own. Yelp is for everything :) I had a dental emergency about 3 years ago (cavity, impacted molar, infected root stem/excruciating brain pain). I went to the ER for pain medication, lidocaine/benzocaine and treatment. Because they don't do dentistry, they called Dr. Lin on my behalf. Since I went to the ER during the early morning on a Sunday, Dr Lin was in bed (I believe). He agreed to treat me a couple hours later that morning. I went in to his office and without a dental assistant, he extracted the tooth professionally, and with minimal pain to me, and sutured the wound. It took a while because it was a back molar, and the tooth root was wrapped around my jawbone/upper pallet. But he was exceedingly patient with me, given my stress level and pre-existing medical conditions. I would recommend him and his Dental Practice to anyone without hesitation. I brought my son to this dentistry for an x-ray and I was sent here by the hospital and the option of paying later but upon arriving here I was billed $455.50 for just an x-ray. we had no money on hand with this because of the emergency and were not allowed to leave by the staff until payment was made. Went for a root canal extraction emergency. The attention from this Doctor and his wife very professional, they get the job done, and before the start any procedure, they told you how much is it. I got in touch with Dr. Lin for extraction of 3 teeth of my 23 month old daughter who had a fall accident in which her three upper front teeth got jammed into the gums. Mr. Lin estimated ~30min for the procedure and accordingly gave oral anesthesia to my daughter. My daughter was asleep under anesthesia for ~40min but it took Dr. Lin ~50min to complete the procedure, 20 min more than what he expected. Since doc under-estimated, my 2 yr old had to go through the last 10 min of the procedure while she was awake. The extraction of the three teeth, and stitching up the gums was done in those 10min. This gave her the trauma that she hasn't forgotten even after 2 months of the procedure. When my daughter woke after the deep sleep of anesthesia, she not only found herself surrounded by strangers (doc and nurse) but her whole body strapped up, including her hands, feet and even head. She couldn't talk as a piece of cloth was stuffed in her mouth and forced open to perform the procedure. The whole incident was too much to handle for a 2 yr old kid and after effects can still be seen on the little girl. Before the accident she used to give hugs and smiles to all the neighbors and even docs and nurses and now she gets scared if someone hugs her too tight and starts screaming as soon as we enter the parking lot of the clinic. To top it off, Dr. Lin didn't gave my daughter dissolvable stitches and she had to go through the trauma of going back a week later to get her stitches taken out Complaint Summary As procedure took 20min more than expected time during which anesthesia faded, my 23 month had trauma of going thru remainder of procedure while awake. read more

Dr. Lin is the best dentist that I have had. He has extensive experience in dentistry. Besides his own dental practice in San Jose, he is currently teaching dentistry at the University once a week based on his outstanding dental background and skills. Before meeting Dr. Lin, my top far right tooth has a bad infection for a long time since it was hard to reach to brush it. No other dentist could point out the correct way to brush it, while some dentists wanted to remove the tooth instead. Dr. Lin showed me the correct way to brush it. It worked and improved only after a few days. The infection has been gone totally by now and the tooth was saved, also the big cost to remove it. I could not eat on my right side of the teeth for many years due to my uneven tooth alignments and bite positions on the right side. It caused extra pressure and damage to the left side teeth. The teeth environment is complicated and needs advanced and complicated skills to adjust the whole thing with follow up checkout appointments needed as well. Dr. Lin was very responsive and squeezed out even his personal time if I needed follow up checkouts. In the end, Dr. Lin adjusted both left and right sides so well to help me to eat on my right side again! Overall, Dr. Lin has very high level professional ethics, putting his patient's needs and benefits on top of his business profits. I have referred my husband to him as another loyal customer.
