What an oasis! The Lincoln Center is one large campus across several blocks with an outdoor area with a fountain, elevated lawn, swings, and more. Inside are all types of theatres, music halls, and more with regular events. On a Friday morning there was a free performance for children that our nine-year-old enjoyed. Protect the Lincoln Center at all costs!

This place is magical- it's so beautiful and there's so much history. The Chagal paintings and the distinctive chandeliers are a sight to behold! Saw the Nutcracker last year- it was wonderful. About a year before that, I saw Harry Connick Jr performing his tribute show to Cole Porter. Make sure to visit Lincoln Center when planning a trip to NYC- there's no place like it.

We had the privilege to experience Ragtime at the Lincoln Center Theater. The performance was breathtaking. The staff were respectful, efficient & helpful. The space was stunning. It was a privilege to see this show but the respect of the theater itself would make me want to return to see future productions.

What a wonderful afternoon touring the Syncopated Stages: Black Disruptions to the Great White Way. Unfortunately, the exhibition won't be up for long so of your in the area, I highly recommend you go and see it. I'm including a few shots that caught my attention and resonated with deeply. Enjoy.

Side note- Yes the prices suck here for drinks and such but it's expected. I've been to this large Performing Arts Center a handful of times with family over the years as they are as I am a fan of classical music so most things I've seen have been at the David Geffen Hall which is the main chamber music hall. The most recent thing I saw was Dudamel Leads Mahler's Seventhon May 29th with as per the name Gustavo Dudamel who is becoming their music director in 2026. The concert was excellent with good audio quality as always as to be expected. The most notable concert I want to was in either 2025 or 2024 with Shostakovich and another Russian composer where we were surrounded by a whole lot of people probably living in Brighton Beach and another similar neighborhoods where there was such wonderous applause at the end that there was an encore. Not much else to say. I slightly prefer the options near NJPAC due to the Ironbound but if the only real complaint are the prices and nearby food options, that's not much.

PSA: they have a coat check area where you can also check your backpack!! At least they for sure have this at David Geffen Hall. I felt that this would be helpful information to share as I couldn't find anything about it on their website. So if you're considering whether or not to wear your cute heels with your dress: WEAR THEM! And bring a pair of comfortable shoes in a bag or backpack to wear before/after your event here ;) Arrive early! If you have time to kill, they have a bar (which also offers non-alcoholic beverages!) as well as a few different seating areas to hang out in while you wait. Also, while they don't allow beverages inside the orchestra hall, they do allow you to bring water bottles!! And they have ample water fountains where you can refill if you bring your own bottle. The only way you can take your bar beverage into the orchestra hall is if you purchase a $5 souvenir cup. It looks like an adult sippy cup and I'm assuming it's to help minimize spills. My husband and I really enjoyed the orchestra concert we attended here last night and we look forward to attending more events here!

Came to see Swan Lake and everything lived up to the hype! Entering with general admission was a little scatterbrained, there were no real lines but once we got through past security we were able to take in the beauty of the theatre. It's a classic for a reason, the interior is so beautiful. There are a few spots to grab refreshments but given the amount of time it took to get inside and the line for drinks we skipped out and headed straight to our seats. Despite having nosebleeds in the back row, we still had a great view and really enjoyed the performance. Highly recommend to see a ballet here.

Lincoln center you have given me such amazing memories, it is time I write a proper review. The amount of incredible performances I have seen here over the years including : one of my favorites will always be the nutcracker, a fashion show, and so much more. I love the five arches at the opera house, and the beautiful walking steps. The lighting on the steps is so stunning at night. My dear friend suggested we go to their summer events which I had no idea they offered this. On we went to silent disco night which was entirely free. We were provided with head phones. Honestly it will be a summer night that I never forget because it was so epic. I love everything about Lincoln Center. There is nothing I would change about you, you are perfect!! Until next time, hope to see you soon.

I absolutely love visiting the Lincoln Center. Never a dull moment here. Both locals and visitors frequent this area. The plaza itself is quite tranquil with the fountain at the center and performance arts venues all around. Several programs run in the area for NYC-based and visiting groups for theater, ballet, opera, and music. I enjoy visiting ABT and their ballets in the gorgeous Met Opera house, but there is something here for everyone. The Summer in the City programs also have several low cost excellent programs ranging from plaza events like silent discos to theater performances (minimum suggested donations usually are $5 and several events are also free of charge). Would highly recommend attending an event or watching a program here.

    "McNeal". Brilliant Production.

Beautiful iconic venue for all sorts of performing arts. I've seen various productions (dance, opera, theatre etc.) here over the years, including marvelous free outdoor events held every summer. Most recently saw "McNeal", a thought provoking play about the true nature of creativity, "woke" culture and artificial intelligence. Loved the comfy seating with well-pitched seats affording great sight lines even from the back of the theatre, plentiful accessible rest rooms and professional polite staff. Cramped Bway theatres with tiny seats and just a few female rest rooms (with zero accessibility) and cranky personnel could learn a thing or two from this venue!

What began as San Juan Hill neighborhood a complicated history the story of America. To 16 acres of the Greatest performing arts organization in the world. Lincoln Center Inc is the landlord and this collaboration of of artists from the school of American ballet, the Juilliard school , the metropolitan opera house, David geffen hall formally Avery fisher hall. The Koch theater formally the new york state theater. Jazz at lincoln center one of the newer members and more. This organization stays above the fray and continues to put on great performances. No politics here just artistic work. The complex well kept by the hard working staff of porters , painters handy-people, engineers that keep this complex running smoothly. This is also the safest 16 acres in the city with its professional proprietary security Department. A don't miss is the summer programs most of all free ! And a new renovation coming opening up the damrosch park . Hungry? Choose from the lincoln restaurant to Tatiana two distinctively different options or cafe Paradiso. Dress up or down explore .

Given the countless performing arts venues in New York City, the Lincoln Center certainly is one of the most well-known and established as an iconic landmark. You see it in TV shows and movies, like Black Swan and Ghostbusters. They host every type of event you could possibly think of that is associated with performance--from classical disciplines of opera, ballet, traditional non-western and classical (western) orchestral and chamber music, to contemporary dance, concerts, film and theatre, jazz, etc...the list goes on. I've attended everything from summer swing dance and silent disco nights, to classical concerts, dance shows (ballet, hiphop, modern, traditional ethnic touring groups), opera (Carmen), films, fashion shows, a fall 2024 Yelp event with Big Apple Circus set up in the park adjacent, and even a friend's surprise proposal in the plaza nearby the fountains. The facilities here are truly a world class, walking into any of the halls and buildings they are beautifully designed, meticulously maintained, and provide listeners, viewers, participants enjoyable experiences all around. And certainly a dream venue for many a performer. What's terrific about the Lincoln Center is that it's not only for featuring artists, but also for nurturing talent and appreciation of the performing arts--aside from Juilliard, a music school mainly known as a mecca for classical musicians, their programming in other genres of performance like dance and theatre include opportunities for all ages and backgrounds. The various buildings that support this heavyweight showcase of resident and touring talent include: Alice Tully Hall Clark Studio Theater Damrosch Park David Geffen Hall David H. Koch Theater David Rubenstein Atrium (seeing a trend of David's here) Frederick P Rose Hall Hearst Plaza Josie P. Robinson Plaza Lincoln Center Theater Metropolitan Opera House New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Rose Theater Stanley K. Kaplan Penthouse The Appel Room In turn the following organizations are housed within this complex--each of these has their own mission and body of work, so it's difficult to review them together, truly worth looking into each one individually based on your own tastes and preferences! Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Film at Lincoln Center (sponsor of the New York Film Festival) Jazz at Lincoln Center Juilliard School Lincoln Center Theater Metropolitan Opera New York City Ballet New York Philharmonic New York Public Library for the Performing Arts School of American Ballet

We attended an outdoor concert at Lincoln Centre's Damrosch Park stage. We saw three Brazilian musical acts: Rashid, Tulipa Ruiz, and Melly. The music and dance was very enjoyable. There were also food trucks selling Brazilian snack and food... as well as beer, wine, and other concessions. The staff and security were polite and did a fantastic job. It was a nice experience, overall.

It actually lives up to its reputation as one of the best-sounding rooms in the city. The venue is such a vibe. You walk into the ground-floor lounge, which is a great spot to grab a drink and decompress before the show, and then you head up the stairs into the main ballroom. The acoustics were flawless for Rochelle's set; her vocals were crisp, and you could feel the bass through the floor without it being muddy. Even though it's an intimate space, the high ceilings and the mezzanine give it a grander feel than your typical club. Pro Tip: If you want a bit more breathing room but still want a perfect view, the mezzanine is the place to be. But honestly, there isn't a bad "seat" (standing room only) in the house. There is a spot downstairs when you walk in to rest on a couch if you need. There are drinks: wine, beer, cider. The bathrooms are decent if you have to use them. Some positives: There is a coat check for $3, and they accept credit card. There are multiple stalls in the ladies' bathroom, and there is soap! I saw non-alcoholic drinks: Poland Spring water, Monster energy drink.

This time we caught the 2pm Sunday open jam. We were smartly near the front of the line so we got my favorite spot, right on the bar rail near the stage. The drinks were good and strong, the service was quick and succinct. The jam was incredible. I didn't know all the guys but the guy on drums is a legend named muppet. He held back on his solos on the first 2 songs. On the third, when the baton was passed to him, he ripped off an impressive solo that would be amazing for anyone, and he is 93. Just standing in line we got to talk to a musician, who had just played at another location, but told us the people playing there that day were amazing, including the 91-year-old drummer "Muppet". We went during the day so no cover charge, but think they do at later hours. We got some spots at the bar, knowing we would not be able to stay long. From any seat you are able to enjoy the whole atmosphere and set. They had one server and one bartender, and I honestly thought at first they would be scrambling with all the drink orders but the way they worked, quickly and still being personable with each guest was impressive. The band playing was great, we stayed a bit more than we should have because of how good they were. Very intimate, chill way to spend time enjoying live music. The only reason I took one star off is the restroom situation. I went down hoping I could use the facilities but the mold smell and other strong smell made me sick and I had to run out. Just make sure you go before you are inside or hold it. Apart from that, very intimate, chill way to spend time enjoying live music.

Thank you, Valerie Simpson, and your late husband; Nickolas Ashford, for creating this amazing venue. The guest host for the evening was the incredibly talented Olutayo. Olutayo is joy exemplified. His vocal range, dance moves, entertaining facial expressions...infectious. I fell in love with this man and did not hesitate to tell him so. Beyond his talents was Olu's ability to manage / juggle the night's open-mic entertainers with such grace. From the lyrics of En Vogue and Salt-N-Peppa: "Whatta Man, Whatta Man, What a Mighty Good Man!" All of the entertainers were incredible. What a range of singers, dancers, a poet, a violinist. And the band! The band! The band! Come on!! Outstanding. I was seated next to Darius, one of the several background vocalists that were positioned throughout the lounge. We became fast friends in this space filled with exuberance. Darius was a delight. He was also a big brother to me, making sure no one blocked my view of the performance. Thank you, Darius, that was so kind of you. I had such a wonderful time being in the company of all these amazingly talented people. It was a 6-hour dopamine rush that should not be missed. The dinner that was served was top-notch. I had the Sea Bass. My friend had the Golden Fried Chicken. Both meals were delicious. I had the ginger mocktail with rosemary and blueberries - so yummy I had two. Dessert was key lime pie - suffer we will. Our server; Vickie, was a delight and amazing to observe as she maneuvered around the performers and kept us and everyone around us well served and continually hydrated. Vickie is to be commended for how hard she worked throughout the evening. I made sure our tip reflected our appreciation of her. Put the Sugar Bar on your bucket list when visiting NYC. The day before our dinner, I got an email, text, and telephone call to confirm our reservation. I asked if our seats were assigned to a specific table. I was told the assignments would be available the next morning. We arrived about 45 minutes before our reservation time. We were told that we could NOT go to the bar without paying the $20.00 per person door fee for the show. That night was open mic night. I was so eager to support this business because of its owners. We were also told we could NOT be seated early. We paid the money and waited. The tables in the bar area were reserved. When our reservation time arrived, in lieu of being seated where we could see the show we paid for, we were taken upstairs. I asked where the upstairs stage was located. There was NO stage. Instead, there was a 20 inch television hanging on the adjacent wall. We waited 45 minutes to watch a television upstairs away from the open mic show. I have included a picture from our vantage point. When I asked why we had not been seated in the open seats on the floor with the stage, I was told that some of the performers brought friends and our table was given to those individuals. Our money would not be refunded. I asked repeatedly why we were being moved and the hostess indicated that she did not make any decisions and the seats were going to be given to others. Those folks had not arrived and had not made any reservation. Thus, making a reservation was a waste of time. Then there was the food. I figured no one could mess up hot wings. I was wrong. The lemon pepper wings had no lemon and no pepper. It was just dropped into some butter. I had "buttered" wings. No seasoning except butter. Every member of our group remarked that the food was NOT good. I left 3/4 of the food on the plate. I was SORELY disappointed. Even sports bar have food don't string their customers along, make them wait 45 minutes, and then stash them away in heaven (i.e. upstairs). I could have watched better entertainment on Youtube. I will not be returning and I am telling everyone that I had bragged to about my upcoming birthday outing at the Sugar Bar that they should NEVER visit this place. No one cared that we were utterly disappointed with the trickery regarding the seating.

It's a low key establishment from the outside but once you are in it feels a lot more trendy. The stage is right in the front and all the tables can get a good view of the stage. The music can be loud at times and the ambience is more on the dimly lit side but still a great spot. The service was great, and the drink selection was cool too. Other than the tuna tartare (didn't feel fresh) everything we got was nice - nigiri combo, kimchi fried rice, kings toast.... Nice drinks, nice atmosphere, good food and great service!!
