Which, I'd been nervous about after I mistakenly went to a 'holistic' dentist for that, which cost so much, and took very long to redo. I had to go to a perio specialist, then to put my zirconia implant crown on, Dr Edwards did a whole procedure to do that perfectly. And I'm very grateful to him that I can now chew normally and not worry about it anymore. Being born without an adult tooth is no picnic, but luckily there are pros like Dr E to help us out with these things in life.

I choose a dentist based on quality, not a swanky office so I stopped going here. Bonding on a chipped tooth was obviously uneven, and in another instance it was fragile so shared off within a few months... I went elsewhere to have it done correctly. The two crowns they did at Bling had different problems after about three years: One crown cracked in half and the other fell off. There was decay under the crown that fell off. My overall impression is that the dentists are pushed, rushed, and overworked... that's my impression, I don't know that for certain. What really stings is the atmosphere. A few of the women in the office act condescending. At times I felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued patient, right up until it was time to upsell... and they loved to upsell. Every cleaning felt like a sales pitch for expensive extras, making it seem that the focus is on the bottom line rather than my well-being. I understand wanting to maximize profits but you have to draw a line somewhere . I would rather have a dentist that makes me feel valued and acts enthusiastic about their career than they are about making as much money as possible.

I was told that my appointment was canceled the Friday afternoon before (despite confirming it via text). I had already taken PTO to attend my appointment so to find out in the afternoon before they were closed all weekend was very frustrating. I was told the reason it was canceled was because my insurance had expired (I have a new insurance provider) and they decided to cancel it without getting a hold of me. The staff are very friendly, quick at getting everything done, and most of all I completely trust their work and recommendations. I've had two crowns done many years ago by one of Healthy Smiles dentist, and they look and feel great. I've felt less pain with their work, than all my last dentists giving fillings. I've very thankful they are in Portland, my home.
