    Meat Pie
    Michelle M.

My boyfriend and I ventured out to South Boston on a cold winter night for some dinner. We were in the mood for some tavern style dishes, but wanted something a little more elevated. This is when we found Lincoln Tower Tavern. When we arrived, it was a moody atmosphere that we both were drawn to--high ceilings, brick walls, and dark brown accents. Since it was our first visit, we were excited to learn that Tuesdays feature $1 oysters. We ordered half a dozen and tried all three oyster varieties available. Each had a standalone flavor which I liked. It was also plated nicely for a quick photo op. For my drink I ordered the perfect pear; it had different flavors than what I'm used to, but in a good way. My boyfriend chose the Meat Pie and I ordered the Chicken Fettucine Fricassee. The waitress said these dishes would take half an hour to prepare (which it did not), so we ordered a side caesar to start off with because we were starving, it worked out because it was awesome. When the dishes arrived, the meat pie was a huge hit. I even tried the mashed potatoes and they were delicious. As for my dish, it just wasn't for me. I do want to state that it was prepared well and creative, the flavors just did not mesh with my palette well. It really tasted like turkey and gravy to me for some reason. It was a fine dish, just wouldn't order it again. Overall we had a great experience at this tavern as we really like the oysters, the drinks, the salad and my boyfriend did like his meat pie. The ingredients were also super fresh. That being said, I would try it again. They seem to be known for their wood fired pizzas, most tables were ordering them. Unfortunately we weren't craving pizza that night, but next time this is what I would order. Overall Lincoln Tavern has my vote, I just would order another entrée dish. Our picks: -Perfect Pear -Guinness -6 Oysters -Side Caesar -Meat Pie -Chicken Fettucine Fricassee -Skillet Sundae

Rustic establishment in South Boston, great for weekend brunch, make a rezy! Chloe was a fantastic server (5/5) and the dim (mood) lighting was intimate for a lunch time. Large pew style booth seating. I recommend the strawberry mojito (mocktail) and the fruity pebbles pancake. If you don't want to stack of pancakes, just get one on the side, it's large and delicious! It's perfect. I was not a fan of the Breakfast style wood fire pizza, the egg lacked flavor. The popcorn cauliflower is a new item and the hot honey sauce is good, but I've had better cauliflower dishes in the past.

we went for the $35 dinner deal where you get an appetizer, drink, and meal for $35 and depending on what you get it's definitely worth it. some of us got the deal and others didn't and with the appetizers to share as well as our meals there was a lot of food. our server was super nice the only thing is the restaurant is very loud at least when we were there around 8pm on thursday so it can be hard to hear. but i liked my pizza so no complaints

We came to Lincoln Tavern during a quiet stretch, and it was actually kind of perfect -- no wait, no noise, just an easy, relaxed vibe. I had the breakfast pizza, and I really enjoyed it. My friend really enjoyed the hash browns and could not stop talking about them. We both got drinks (one cocktail, one mocktail), and they were solid -- simple, well-made, no notes. Staff was super friendly without being overbearing, and the space had that comfortable, laid-back feel that makes you want to hang out a while. Would 100% come back for a low-key brunch or an easy catch-up spot. Great food and good energy.

I've been to Lincoln several times for dinner and night outs - it never disappoints. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, perfect for Southie. I've had both the cheesesteak and the burger, and both were absolutely amazing and cooked perfectly. On my most recent visit, for the $1 oyster special and was genuinely surprised by how extensive the selection was. Great food, great value, and a consistently solid spot I'm always happy to return to.

I came here for a last-minute birthday brunch on a late Saturday morning. The space is large, with deep booths that work well for both laid-back family meals and lively groups like ours. I don't think anyone else was taking tequila shots at 11am. But we were seated right away, and our server promptly brought over waters. The espresso martini and the Lavender Haze Spritz were both excellent. For food, our table ordered the crab cake Benedict, the egg BLT, the Sooo-Cal breakfast burrito con queso, the California omelet, and the Lincoln burger. Everything was tasty, but the clear standout was the burrito--everyone at the table had their eye on it! I did wish I'd tried one of the sweet dishes--they looked fun and creative. If I come back, I'd probably go for the stuffed lemon poppy seed pancakes or the Fruity Pebbles pancakes. Service was great overall, though there was one small hiccup: one dish came out noticeably later than the rest, so we all waited to start eating. Otherwise, it was a fantastic experience.

This place was great!! We stopped in for work and ordered a lot of different items. Everything was delicious. My favorite were the truffle fries, the white pizza, and the Boursin whipped potatoes... those were to die for. I wanted to like to goat cheese dip but I felt it didn't have enough goat cheese. The drinks were fun and they had a ton of options. I would definitely return!

THE brunch spot in the heart of boston! Definitely would make a reservation on the weekend for brunch, cause it does get crowded! The fact there's TV's everywhere to watch the football games on Sunday! I already wanna go back ! The menu was so overwhelming with so many things that I want to try that I already know I'll be back! The sandwich was great! I'd get it again! The only thing is I'm more of a pancake person, as my husband wanted French toast! Usually the fruity pebbles are over pancakes! It was still good but French toast is just too much bread for me! The donuts were absolutely amazing I could have ate that whole plate myself! There was like an apple pie jam ! My godddd !! Totally recommend stopping by ! I'll be back to try more! Btw. I didn't have the short rib poutine (not my style) ! But my husband did devour it so .. I'll let that speak to ya'll Also love the vibes for Halloween!

Lincoln Tavern is a great spot to hit when you're in Southie! Very lively and has lots of seating. It was pretty packed when we went on a Sunday morning. They had lots of TVs, so definitely a good place to go to watch the game & grab something to eat! What we ordered: -Espresso martini -mushroom pizza -burrata pizza -sausage pizza -fruity pebbles pancakes -butterscotch doughnuts OMG! Totally didn't expect the pizzas to be so good! My favorite was the burrata pizza; comes with hot honey, burrata, arugula, & prosciutto. It's usually my go-to type of pizza to get & they made it amazing. The dough is perfection ;) The espresso martini... you see the foam? Yeah, you already know it was PHENOMENAL. Our server was sweet. She was quick and efficient, even with how busy it was in there. Parking: there is street parking & also a public lot across the street. Free parking on Sundays!

Food was pretty good and drinks were delicious. The portions were huge!! It is an adorable place with outdoor seating. Our server was very nice and helpful. We wanted to split the bill, but were not able to at the end. It wasn't a big deal, but make sure to tell your server before ordering.

Having been here before, but not in awhile we decided to pop in for couple drinks and pies! Of course it was slammed today but we got seated quickly. They have plenty of booths, and tables and of course plenty of screens so you can catch the game (today was eagles vs commanders!) I enjoyed all their pizzas, the dough they use is good and buttery / nice flavor. I chose the sausage and peppers pie, the lady got the burrata and both were great! My friend that got the doughnuts said they were "bussin!" Haha Service was quick, refills on drinks, pleasant and accommodating. No complaints from us here! Will be back!

    Margherita Pizza

Visited Boston before a cruise. In a pinch we needed to grab a bite to eat and wound up here at the Lincoln Tavern. I was pleasantly surprised how nice and efficient the staff was. The tavern gave off a warm vibe that will definitely pull me back in if I choose to visit the city again. Would recommend the pizza because it was so good.

You know when you're eating a kale salad and the pieces are too big and you're kind of cramming them into your mouth and then the salad dressing is all over your face? This is NOT that salad! The kale is perfectly chopped so you can enjoy it with just your fork as you talk to your friend/spouse/date or just read your book. The dressing is such perfection, and the perfect amount, no gloopiness here! Crunchy breadcrumbs add magical texture and then there's a shower of finely grated gouda cheese on top. Have you ever read a good book and as you're reading it, you're so into it that you don't want it to end? So you slow down your reading speed to make it last a little longer? That's how I feel about this salad. There are other delicious items on the menu, I saw someone eating the burger that looked so good, I also want to try the Brussels but the call of the salad siren is too strong. Everyone is super welcoming and friendly, especially Catherine, and the kitchen team even shared the dressing recipe with me. Excellent wine list, casual and cozy space with twinkle lights, a lot of bar/counter seating, great date spot. Also attached/sister company to American Provisions I believe (great spot in Southie for sandwiches, cheeses, wines, pastries, rare food items).

Total came out to approximately $80 (not including tip). What's Hot - Menu. Pretty good variety. There's something for everyone, including vegans (for the most part). Specifically for vegans, they do not appear to have vegan cheese. They recently added loaded fries to their menu. - Quality. We tried their buffalo loaded fries, which definitely a good kick of spiciness. There was a good amount of buffalo mozzarella cheese and chicken. Their fries are slightly crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. I really enjoyed my pressed veggie sandwich. There were whole veggies, such as broccoli, with a good amount of cheese melted between all the veggies. I liked that it was not a mashed patty. The sourdough bread was not tart (which I prefer), soft, and not too greasy. No skimping on the ingredients either. Their mozzarella bites appetizer is good, not overly breaded, and cheesy/stringy. All of us enjoyed our meals. - Service. We showed up without reservations on a Friday night when it was cold and rainy, and they were able to seat us right away. We tried several other restaurants before getting here, and we would have had to wait at least one hour, because we did not have reservations, even though those restaurants clearly had open tables. Our waitress was helpful. She answered all questions she had and was able to provide us contextual helpful info (i.e., what she's tried from the menu, what she liked and why, flavor level, etc...). She paid attention to detail. One of our friends hates pickles and specifically asked for no pickles with his burger. This may seem like a minor detail, but if a staffer cannot pay attention to detail in the service industry, that is not a good indication. - Price. Good value for money, especially given the quality of food and portions. - Portions. Good amount and enough to get one full on one dish. - Location. Conveniently located in downtown Boston around many other shops and restaurants. - Layout. At the front, there's a pretty large bar area, including high tables and chairs, with booths and smaller tables towards the back. They appear to be able to accommodate large groups and smaller parties, including individuals. What's Not - Acoustics. It's pretty loud inside and sound carries very easily, so it's difficult to carry a conversation. Final Answer Worth returning.
