My boyfriend and I ventured out to South Boston on a cold winter night for some dinner. We were in the mood for some tavern style dishes, but wanted something a little more elevated. This is when we found Lincoln Tower Tavern. When we arrived, it was a moody atmosphere that we both were drawn to--high ceilings, brick walls, and dark brown accents. Since it was our first visit, we were excited to learn that Tuesdays feature $1 oysters. We ordered half a dozen and tried all three oyster varieties available. Each had a standalone flavor which I liked. It was also plated nicely for a quick photo op. For my drink I ordered the perfect pear; it had different flavors than what I'm used to, but in a good way. My boyfriend chose the Meat Pie and I ordered the Chicken Fettucine Fricassee. The waitress said these dishes would take half an hour to prepare (which it did not), so we ordered a side caesar to start off with because we were starving, it worked out because it was awesome. When the dishes arrived, the meat pie was a huge hit. I even tried the mashed potatoes and they were delicious. As for my dish, it just wasn't for me. I do want to state that it was prepared well and creative, the flavors just did not mesh with my palette well. It really tasted like turkey and gravy to me for some reason. It was a fine dish, just wouldn't order it again. Overall we had a great experience at this tavern as we really like the oysters, the drinks, the salad and my boyfriend did like his meat pie. The ingredients were also super fresh. That being said, I would try it again. They seem to be known for their wood fired pizzas, most tables were ordering them. Unfortunately we weren't craving pizza that night, but next time this is what I would order. Overall Lincoln Tavern has my vote, I just would order another entrée dish. THE brunch spot in the heart of boston! Definitely would make a reservation on the weekend for brunch, cause it does get crowded! The fact there's TV's everywhere to watch the football games on Sunday! I already wanna go back ! The menu was so overwhelming with so many things that I want to try that I already know I'll be back! The sandwich was great! I'd get it again! The only thing is I'm more of a pancake person, as my husband wanted French toast! Usually the fruity pebbles are over pancakes! Really wanted to try fresh oysters and saw on their website that Lincoln Tavern has having Happy Hour $1 oysters from 4-6pm. Upon arrival we were told that was only on Tuesdays and that on Thursdays (the day in which we went" were $3. Oh well. Either way we had a few couple and they were delicious. Fresh, not too salty and once my concoction of hot sauce, oil, lemon and salt were added, it was sooooooo good! Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Plenty of seating inside woth a big open floor plan. They do have outside seating but it was SOO hot, they did not have it available. Wouldn't mind returning on a Tuesday for their $1 oysters. Rustic establishment in South Boston, great for weekend brunch, make a rezy! Chloe was a fantastic server (5/5) and the dim (mood) lighting was intimate for a lunch time. Large pew style booth seating. I recommend the strawberry mojito (mocktail) and the fruity pebbles pancake. If you don't want to stack of pancakes, just get one on the side, it's large and delicious! It's perfect. I was not a fan of the Breakfast style wood fire pizza, the egg lacked flavor. I've been to Lincoln several times for dinner and night outs - it never disappoints. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, perfect for Southie. I've had both the cheesesteak and the burger, and both were absolutely amazing and cooked perfectly. On my most recent visit, for the $1 oyster special and was genuinely surprised by how extensive the selection was. We came to Lincoln Tavern during a quiet stretch, and it was actually kind of perfect -- no wait, no noise, just an easy, relaxed vibe. I had the breakfast pizza, and I really enjoyed it. My friend really enjoyed the hash browns and could not stop talking about them. We both got drinks (one cocktail, one mocktail), and they were solid -- simple, well-made, no notes. Staff was super friendly without being overbearing, and the space had that comfortable, laid-back feel that makes you want to hang out a while. I came here for a last-minute birthday brunch on a late Saturday morning. The space is large, with deep booths that work well for both laid-back family meals and lively groups like ours. I don't think anyone else was taking tequila shots at 11am. But we were seated right away, and our server promptly brought over waters. The espresso martini and the Lavender Haze Spritz were both excellent. For food, our table ordered the crab cake Benedict, the egg BLT, the Sooo-Cal breakfast burrito con queso, the California omelet, and the Lincoln burger. Everything was tasty, but the clear standout was the burrito--everyone at the table had their eye on it! I did wish I'd tried one of the sweet dishes--they looked fun and creative. If I come back, I'd probably go for the stuffed lemon poppy seed pancakes or the Fruity Pebbles pancakes. Having been here before, but not in awhile we decided to pop in for couple drinks and pies! Of course it was slammed today but we got seated quickly. They have plenty of booths, and tables and of course plenty of screens so you can catch the game (today was eagles vs commanders!) Lincoln Tavern is a must go, especially on a Thursday! They have this $35 special where you get a drink (wine or lager), a decently sized appetizer and an entree. It was extremely worth it and tasted great as well. I got the calamari for appetizer, serving size was huge but could use a bit more crispiness. I also got the lobster fettuccini and it was amazing! There was a good amount of lobster as well. The vibe was also great, towards later in the night, they also had live music at the back, which was another great vibe. Stopped by here for drinks last night and to catch some of the game! We wanted to sit at the bar and found seats pretty quickly (although it was pretty crowded). I got the Apple mule and the lavender haze spritz. Both were delicious! I like the Apple mule a little bit more as it was less sweet but I'd highly recommend both. Pretty good! We came on a slow Thanksgiving weekend afternoon; appreciated the quiet atmosphere for catching up, though I hear this spot is usually way louder and bustling, particularly the bar area. I also liked that they do weekday brunch for anyone craving an omelette or a stack of Fruity Pebble pancakes on a Tuesday. I went with the chicken Caesar wrap, which, if I see that on the menu, I will always order it. The sandwiches come with either fries or salad, so I went with the Caesar salad. (I clearly can't get enough of Caesar). And guys, this was a very solid Caesar wrap, perhaps the best I've had in recent memory. Thick chunks of avocado, lots of bacon. Would come here again and brave the Southie hordes just for this. Our waitress was nice but didn't come by to offer any drink refills. We also got the grilled chicken burger, which was basically a caprese salad in sandwich form- so good, my one critique is that it's too tall to take a normal bite out of and the basil/watercress wasn't taken off the stems (fine with me, can see how it could bother others). My drink was okay (sweet precious thyme), seemed a bit watered down, but I wasn't here for a drink, I was here for the oysters! Even though the place is pretty big, it's cozy. The egg BLTC was pretty good. I liked that the hash brown is thin and crispy. My friend got the expresso martini and it was great too. Overall, a great brunch spot! Service was friendly.
