FYI: Both the McKinney and Allen locations are represented by the same ownership and management team. My review is based on my firsthand experience as a customer. The lesson I learned this time is that the true character of a business isn't revealed when everything goes right. It's revealed when something goes wrong. A really bad grooming job grows back, and I could have easily laughed that off and moved on. RED FLAG #1 What I couldn't overlook was that my tiny 5lb Maltese had a puncture wound (the size of a pencil tip eraser) under her chin and a belly covered in abrasions (guessing from hot clippers). **They did not report it. RED FLAG #2 When I got home and discovered the injuries, I emailed TMP immediately. I expected: concern for her well-being and a sincere effort to make things right. Instead, I got a lengthy email about "miscommunication" regarding the grooming. I got an apology. What I didn't get was the one thing I was looking for: genuine human concern for my injured dog. RED FLAG #3 The solution was never complicated. A simple acknowledgment (regardless of how it happened). My tiny dog came home hurt and that mattered. A refund. This experience was extremely upsetting for my family, traumatic for our tiny Tina, and I worry about her demeanor when I take her to a new groomer. She's such a tiny baby and to minimalize our situation has been heartbreaking. RED FLAG #4 One of the most concerning things I discovered was The Mutt Puddle's liability policy. Their policy (search for it online and read it) states; that pet owners assume all responsibility when leaving their pets in the salon's care and that The Mutt Puddle and its staff will not be held responsible for injuries, deaths, medical bills, clipper burns, cuts, stress-related issues, or nearly any other problem that may arise during grooming. **This is why they didn't report the injuries, it didn't matter, their policy protects them regardless of what happened! Prospective customers should do their homework before choosing either salon. Do deep search and read their policies in full, employee ratings, the social media reports, reviews and responses from management. Grooming salon's in Texas do not require groomers to be licensed and this means liability, quality control and any kind of regulation is nonexistent! Before you take your baby to The Mutt Puddle.. decide whether their approach to customer service, accountability, and animal care aligns with your expectations and ethics. At the end of the day, we are trusting salons like this one with our beloved babies. Our pets rely entirely on us to protect them and on the professionals caring for them to uphold the trust placed in their hands. For all animal lovers, that trust is sacred. We've lost complete trust in The Mutt Puddle and will not go back. They have taught me the difference between customer service and reputation control. Good luck with that business model. .

I expected a tidy trim but he had been completely shaved from belly button down and his entire tail hair had been cut off into a stub instead of trimmed. The groomer nor front desk associate mentioned anything and when I called to speak with management, I was told they would call back. It's now been 2 days with no returned call or concern for their negligence. $170 later and my dog has an uneven and unattractive underbelly and backside, shorter ear fluff (when we never asked for this to be cut) and trauma from being nicked in the process. For the price you can go somewhere that will actually care for your fur baby and communicate when things don't go as planned.

The haircut was exactly what I wanted, and her face, ears & eyebrows were trimmed the straightest I've EVER seen. The icing on the cake (or doggie) was that she smelled SOOOOOO good! They work in their clean, cool garage turned grooming salon, which is very clever. Now I don't have to worry about finding groomers who are at least as good as our previous ones. Due to bad weather recently we took our fur baby Sabrina to a groomer near our home based on a…read morerecommendation from another person. Sabrina weighs nearly 60 lbs. She was larger than the other dogs we saw when we arrived. It was apparent to us the groomer was used to doing only small dogs. When we picked her up we made the mistake of not completely checking her over. When we got home we noticed one ear was longer than the other and her face was not trimmed symmetrically. Needless to say we will not be going back to that groomer again. We have been taking Sabrina to UltiMutts for several years now. Sabrina LOVES JULIE and it is obvious Julie feels the same way. She is due for another groom in a few weeks and we can't wait to see Julie again.

The girl at the front couldn't get our phone number correct or what service we had asked for. This was to be our 3re time here. Everything on line was confirmed when I booked the appt. Fast forward 2.5 hours. No notification that Toby was ready. No text, call or email. When we started to call after 1.5 hours there was no answer. Just a recording. We continued to try to connect also by text- per their website . My husband finally went down to get Toby - when he got there he was told- they were behind and hadn't gotten to him yet. Unacceptable- no phone call advising, not answering the phone for over an hour- unacceptable, and then to boot - usi g the excuse they were behind. I'm not sure how that's except able when for that groomer Toby was the first one at 10:00. And not even an apology. 2.5 hours of him being in a cage. Ignored. And no communication. Then I get a text that my appt was cancelled. They have a policy that they charge without a 24 hour notice. I have a good mind to send them an invoice as well. We will not go back- the last time they neglected to call after he was done. And he spent 2 Hours waiting for us to call. service was poor. Communication - horrible. 1-
