Went there today. Niece of owner (her aunt) was very rude. Told me to go through a huge bag of different buttons and try to find the one I wanted. Then she scooted me to the side for the next customer. She tried to sway me not to try to find a button. Then I found one that was OK, and she sewed it on quick. I told her I'd be back if it fell off and she said, "don't come back. Here, give me the shirt. I'll take the button off. Arrogant and unprofessional place. i was on a search for a good place to get my jeans hemmed. i normally go to kathy's in milpitas but i really didn't like the fact that the changing "room" was really just a sectioned off corner using a sheet. so i had to look around for a new place. i saw the reviews here and thought that this might work. i also made a few phone calls to other places to find out the prices of keeping the original hem on jeans. linda's charges $12 to keep the original hem. it was comparable in price to other places and it wasn't that far. the parking here is not good. i suggest you park across the street at the shopping center and just walk over (minimal walking, i promise). this place is small and it's owned by vietnamese people. i dropped off my pants on a saturday (i think) and they were done by tuesday. it's pretty quick. they don't talk much but are good at what they do. i'm satisfied and will be back in the future. read more

I just found my new go-to spot for alterations. The main reason is because of the overall service. The prices are just as low as other places in this area, but the ladies who work here are so sweet, cheerful, and nice! I had to get a bridesmaid dress altered, expecting to pay a grip and to pick up weeks later because of the material of the dress... it only coast $20, and was ready within a week. Noice!! Went to Linda's with two dresses. One of them required some fancy cutting and trimming and the second was just taking in around chest area. Their work is perfect, afterwards both dresses fitted me exactly how I wanted them to and very flattering for my body shape. Brought in my bridesmaid dress because I needed it to be altered. It was too long and the straps needed to be fixed. Linda said she could fix it and I picked it up within a week. Tried it on over there and it was perfect. The dress was in perfect length and the straps wasn't long anymore. Paid when we picked it up. Cash only! I found Linda's on Yelp and have had a few dresses altered. Since I got a new job fairly recently, I treated myself to a bunch of Banana Republic and White House Black Market dresses. Unfortunately even petite sizing can fit weird when you're a short Asian (haha). From my handful of visits I haven't had to wait too long to get help--even on the busier weekends. There is decent street parking and she has parking in front of the shop for customers which is nice. Pricing isn't super duper cheap like some other Asian places, but it's definitely worth it. For me in particular, since I bring in work clothes that I feel are more "investment" pieces. One dress that needed to be shortened in the back/torso area including redoing the zipper cost me $25. I wasn't even sure if they could do it without the alterations ruining the shape of the dress, but was pleasantly surprised at the result. Not sure what the turnaround time is for basic items like hemming pants, but I pick up my fairly complicated dress alterations by the following weekend. read more

The first thing I saw when entering this makeshift store was how small it was. There was nowhere to sit and the place was so crowded full of people who were just there waiting to be served or even acknowledged. There were whole families, families of 6 people, kids running around inside and outside of the place. There in this small place, one person who was getting something fitted and the rest of them were just standing around. There were these women who were with their daughters who were getting fitted telling the people what they thought was better than their suggestions on how to alter something. People talking over each other and no ventilation in the place either. It was so hot in there, it was a war zone. I will NEVER go back there. I took my bridesmaid dress here and I'm very glad I did. They did a great job. It had to be taken in a few inches, shortened, and needed a slit raised. It came out perfect. I had a bridesmaid dress that needed some serious alterations. Although I had purchased my bridesmaid dress in advance, I did not receive it until the week of the wedding. I went in to Linda's on a Tuesday and she assured me that the dress would be ready by that Friday and IT WAS! the fitting was quick, I did it during my lunch break, and the result was wonderful. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because they told me it would be finished by 12pm on Friday and when I went in, they told me they still needed a few hours. They finished by 3, but it still made me nervous to have to wait because I had to leave town to attend the wedding and I didnt have a chance to try it on before leaving. Really great tailor. I've had a couple of my jeans, including my work pants, hemmed at this place. It's really great pricing-- $9 to get my pants back within 10minutes after her pinning it at the right length. The workmanship on the stitching is great; it matches the original, it's very clean, and definitely holds up. I would recommend to anyone in the area that needs alterations!! I had a leather skirt hemmed to tighten the waist and also shorten, I was skeptical to get it altered because the leather is so thick and I didn't want the skirt to get ruined in any way. I went in to get a top and a pair of pants hemmed , the 2 ladies working there at the time very rude saying they couldn't make the shirt tighter but I showed them multiple ways how to fix it and they FINALLY pinned it up . And my pants were too big and needed to be hemmed on the waist and along the pant line. They started pinning my pants and I asked her to make it tighter so it would fit my body better . She said she can't do that and I said okay but she started taking all the pins out saying she can't do any of it anymore . I said why not and she just shook her head and said "I can't , no" w/ an attitude. it was so unprofessional and rude the whole attitude in this establishment. Wow, Linda's Tailor does a GREAT JOB for original hem denims. I brought in a pair of True Religion & a pair of Sevens. The length is PERFECT, and it's even. As for the tailoring itself, Linda does a really good job. I highly recommend for hemming denims. read more

I read mixed reviews here and decided to give this place a try. I had 5 jeans that need to shorten their length. For $6 per jeans, I think the prices here are good. They did not do the same as new finish that I guess you get for $12 but I think it doesn't look bad at all. In fact I like them better for jeans with gray or black color. They did a fantastic job. I called a day before my pick up date to ask if we are still on schedule and she said yes and delivered on time. came here due to the yelp reviews but my only complaint is that it's not as 'cheap' as people say she is.... i got two dresses altered. one dress i just needed shorter. that cost me $20... just to get it cut and sewn on the bottom... really? $20? i had another dress hemmed. this one was a bit more complex b/c the sides was loose, the dress was long, and the design was a bit complex. this costed $40 to hem.. this one might have been worth it but the other definitely not. now she did do a good job, i'll give her that. but to me, she's a bit overpriced. maybe if all you're doing is getting your pants hemmed its worth it but for other things, i think she charges too much read more

me and my bf always get our jeans fixed here. $6 for regular hem and $12 to get them tapered in. i'm 4'11 and can fit into size 12-14 kids jeans or women's 23-24. but they legs are always way too wide and long! *sigh* sucks that all designer jeans are made to fit tall white people ): they always do a good job and usually finish within 3-4 days, depending on how busy they are. they were even able to switch out the snap on button on the kids jeans to the regular grown up ones for me! haha (: sweeeet. they recently changed the dressing rooms so they have locking doors, no more curtains. they also added a ramp, so it's now wheelchair accessible. although, the doorway is a bit small. be careful when parking and backing out because this place is on the corner of 2 busy streets. service here is quick, friendly, and consistent. good place to get simple alterations done. read more

Beware! After reading all the good reviews, i was sure they would do a good job, but If you bring in expensive jeans to be hemmed, they may ruin them. I specifically told the lady I wanted to keep the original hem, she was like ok, ok. But when I picked them up, they did not do it. Now my expensive jeans look like crap. Thanks a lot. Quick, reliable, and even though their English isn't so good, they're awesome at getting exactly what you want done. What I usually do is try on the piece of clothing and show her what I want fixed. she'll ask me inches if needed, what I would be trying to go for with the look, etc. Very sweet woman, patient family, clean environment, quick service, and decent prices. Of course prices have gone up a tad bit over the years, but that tends to happen with the economy. Either way, Linda's will not break my piggy bank. I've gone here a million times to get my pants/skirts hemmed, cuz I'm a shorty and have to get all pants hemmed. I think the prices are very reasonable and the turnaround time is great. I'm never in a rush, so the standard timing is about 3 days. I've read on here that they do have expedited services but I've yet to try them out. This place is super! I have been going to her for about 8 years now and would never replace her for any other Tailor. Linda is this little Vietnamese lady who is soft spoken and sweet with puffy 80's style hair. Highly recommend this place and so affordable if you cannot sew. Linda alters anything and everything! Some people maybe skeptical because her prices are so low to take designer pants,wedding gowns etc... well you are wrong. She is truly a Dr. for all pieces of apparel. Go there! So apparently I'm a duchess for checking in once to drop off and again to pick up. I had two pairs of jeans hemmed, as well as a pair of work pants. They charged me $6 per pair for the denim, and the hemming turned out great. Good quality, good stitch match. The pants with lining cost me $9, which is pretty fair as they have to hem twice. Great work on both, though I haven't tried it since I got it hemmed...I'm only judging from looking at the stitching so hopefully I'm not walking around with high waters when I do get around to wearing them. They speak Vietnamese and a little English, cash only. You can also park in the drive way as they are "parking spots." read more

I wanted my slack to be slimmed down. When i got it back i was very pleased with the slacks. They were perfect and they looked like i bought them like that. I really like this place which I went to based on reading the other recommendations. The prices are phenomenal, I used to pay double for the same tailoring in Los Angeles. I've brought in about 20 different items to be tailored, and so far the only slight mess-up is she took in a dress to tight at the bottom hem and now it's hard to get on/off (and hard to walk in because my legs can't extend as far) -- not sure how I missed that when I was taking it off after it was pinned. But everything else has been great. Today Linda was a bit hard to read on a new request -- I brought in a pair of white pants and asked if a lining could be added. She laughed nervously and said something like "I wonder why they sell pants like these [without linings]?" Anyway, it was a bit unclear to me whether she didn't know how to add a lining, didn't have the material to do so, or didn't want to take the time to do the work. I persisted a little bit and finally we managed to decide that if I brought in the fabric for the lining, she would put it in... so hopefully that will go well the next time! read more
