Parking is insane, like most college campus stadiums. The seats are packed in so closely that people trying to get to the aisle to visit the loo, or enjoy a short and fast line at the concessions, must get pretty intimate with their seat neighbors. The upper deck is brutal. Miss me with those tickets! If you can get just under the overhang, though, you can have shelter from the elements even if you have an obstructed view. There are, literally, seats placed behind huge concrete supports and I've had tickets there. Had to laugh. Despite all of that, it's amazing. The amenities, including concessions and restroom facilities, are fast and easy. The stadium hosts the university's traditions and team with style. I love the VOLS, but my first love is the Crimson and Cream. I have to say that Knoxville has been very hospitable to my friends from Norman, Oklahoma. If you get the chance, go to a game here. You won't regret it.

I'm a huge baseball fan, but as a true fan, I had my concerns on this one. So maybe this doesn't work for the baseball purist, but for the casual fan, for the kids, this is most akin to the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball. There's a lot of slapstick humor stuff, but there are no dull moments and there is something going on every moment you are in attendance. Quite honestly, as a former player, some of the tricks even leave me scratching my head. It's action packed entertainment from beginning to end, and there's even a little baseball played as well. It is certainly worth at least a look, even for the purist.

What a mixed bag! My…read morewife and I visited the Park for a Smokies baseball game and it was quite the experience. To start with, the Stadium itself is a great facility. Because we had never been, we showed up early and walked a lap around the park and saw what all was available. The amount of choices of food and drink was impressive and multiple locations ensured the lines were short everywhere. The ushers, food stand workers, and bartenders were all super-pleasant and accommodating, even if a few were a bit overwhelmed by circumstances. The wife and I got a kick out of a bartender at the Modelo Bar down the right field line who we asked about beer selections. He was an older guy, but proceeded to rattle off what seemed to be a list of about 15 or 20 beers without looking. We got the feeling that wasn't the first time he was asked that question! It was quite impressive and the beers were reasonably priced for a sporting event. He told us about a 24 oz. mug which gets you $6 refills of any beer in the park, including craft beers and imports! Sold! Now to the not so good part. After we got to our seats we got our next round of drinks at the Backstop Bar and things were not so fortunate. It seems something had gone wrong with the draft system and the beers were hot cups of foam. I opted to go to the food stand next to it, but their draft system was doing the same thing! No problem, I just went to one of the small beer kiosks and the problem was solved! The wife decided to get a frozen drink because of the beer situation. Unfortunately the drink wound up not being frozen. Not sure what was going on there, but the bartender there was so hectic trying to deal with the issues, we felt pretty bad for her. She seemed very sweet. We ordered some chicken tenders from a food stand, which were pretty low quality, to be honest. Extremely dry and all the flavor of a piece of cardboard. We tried some nachos from the food stand by the Modelo Bar and things improved markedly. Was it gourmet eats? No, but it was still very good and worth the calories! All in all, definitely a mixed bag. The game was fun, tickets were affordable, staff was wonderful, great selection. Execution was meh in places and outstanding in others. Seems like management needed to fix some problems at the one bar and food quality varied depending on where you ordered from. Give it a try, it was a good time!

This place has been a great addition to the Knoxville downtown scene. Thank you Randy Boyd for…read morebringing this to Knoxville. With plenty of options on food, from hot dogs, to hot chicken, bbq pork to pizza, dippin dots and a load of bars around the stadium, you'll definitely have a lot of options. As this stadium starts to fill up more of their retail space you will continue to see a bunch of new restaurants being added, Jackie's Dream is one of them and that place is amazing! They host the local Smokies Baseball team and also the pro soccer league in this stadium. On weekend games they shoot off fireworks. I'd be nuts if I lived in one of the residential buildings that lines the field having dogs and having to hear fireworks every weekend. Overall it's a great atmosphere, and a fun thing to do in Knoxville, and the tickets are super affordable. If you have kids, bring them as there are so many things for kids to do here, they have a large playground around the facility and a bunch more fun activities for them. If you are looking for something fun to do, look and see if they have an event and go check them out. I'm sure you'll enjoy this place as much as I do. It is a cashless venue, and you almost must carry clear bags. I definitely recommend checking this place out, as it's a new gem to the Knoxville area. Now let's play ball! Cheers & Enjoy!
