DON'T USE THEM Came out to my 93 year old father's home on 7/18/18 for estimate on replacing one of two ac units. Gave him a price of $9200.00 as he was told all the duct work needed to be replaced(scam). Charged him $39.00 for this scam estimate. A second company came out abd gave a price of $2500.00 and laughed at the fact that Lindstrom advised duct work need to be replaced, which would be virtually impossible without ripping apart the walls. I believe they were trying to take advantage of a 93 year old World War II POW. Heartless. As a side note the unit was replaced by the second contractor Cypress Air and has been working great. He installed a Trane unit so it's not like he used a lower brand unit. read more

I was out shopping; a few miles away towards my condo, the skies were dark and belching thunder. Lightning as well apparently, for upon returning home the blinking stove/microwave were hallmarks of a power outage an hour prior. Worse, my AC was out. I asked my neighbor who was home who verified lightning had hit our building. I feared the worst, that it hit my rooftop AC (replacements cost over $4k with all parts and labor.) My neighbor recommended Lindstrom, as did a second, so I set up a next-day appointment. I was leery after reading some Yelp reviews and their 2.5 star average rating. But should add, I live in a community where neighbors communicate and the reputation of vendors is king. And, this was my experience: The rep from Lindstrom was on-time, knowledgeable, articulate, and was able to diagnose the problem in less than half an hour. And, got it fixed in another half-hour. He still went up to my building's roof (where the AC units are) to give my unit a look-over; turns out it's in good shape. The thunderbolt left some telltale marks, but I thank the heavens it wasn't worse. Others may have had bad experiences, but for me, Lindstrom did an excellent job. read more

What a joke! Tech was great as he came out to give me a 19 point inspection and cleaning. Let me know about possible mold in my handler. (Looked pretty accurate) Sales guy comes out and acts like the world is on fire! How are you? I'm overbooked he says. I take him outside to see the unit and he says it looks like we have a wiring issue and going to have trouble passing inspection. This is the unit that came with the house 13 years ago! Its the same Lennox unit over 100 neighbors had installed by Divosta but I have a wiring issue? Hated the vibe... Sales all day long... Not the family company they claim to be... I told him I had a budget of 5000 dollars and he said this makes it easy as we can't do anything for under 6500. Mind that this all happened in under 3 minutes as he muttered something about my measurements. My house is 1900 square feet with a single unit! We shook... he left... done with Lindstrom! FYI... Got quotes from 2 private companies for a Lennox and a Goodman for 4800 with Install! It's high pressure sales and I feel for all the senior citizens in the area who get taken advantage of. I have been using Lindstrom AC for years and decided to try their plumming service. Trusting them that I would not get ripped off in South FL, I failed to get additional quotes. I generously give them two stars only because the plummer was polite, responsive and professional as was the person I interacted with by text. I had my water main shut off valve replaced along with a small piece of pipe. The job included $50.00 or less in supplies and took one man two hours to complete the job. As I watched the plummer work , I realized that the job was simple and straightforward. I was shocked that my bill was just under $700.00 so I contacted Lindstrom for clarification and justification for their bill. I was told that I was billed by the job and not by the hour. When I asked for a break down of the job, I was told there wasn't one. When I asked for justification for the pricing, there wasn't any. When I asked if billing by the job was an industry standard I was told... no it is Lindstrom's standard. I am disappointed to say that after watching the plummer work, I see no justification for a $700.00 bill. I feel like I have been ripped off by Lindstrom ! I do not know if I can trust Lindstrom for AC work in the future but I do know that I will not trust their plumbing division again. I had to have 2 units installed in my house about a year ago. I got to of the best units they sold. Did according to their recommendation. Ever since the where installed the one unit does not cool the side of the house the same way. We never had a issue before. We had tech come multiple times and they keep saying it's fine. It is not fine! When one tech came to do a service he damaged a connector. We had water pouring out of lights in closet. There is a mildew smell now. But of course they don't smell. They don't see any problem with there guy damaging something and they will not address our issues of water damaged cloths. Do not use them. They do not stand behind there work!!! read more

They showed up on time and the technician was very courteous until he gave me an outrageous bill. My complaint is their abusive price gouging system of charging highly inflated prices for parts. When you ask anyone, they all answer it is the system, they can't do anything about it. They charged $300+ for a $28 capacitor. The $28 is all over the internet. Yesterday my air conditioner broke and again needed Lindstrom's services. Reading the below information of my post I laughed because I had the same experience again. Dispatch called to see if tech could arrive early... yes please my air was completely broken. The tech Stephen came, fixed it quickly, was friendly and let me know my future options. What a great company! See last years review My experience was wonderful. I chose Lindstrom because they are local in he hopes of that reflecting on their response time. The dispatchers were polite and informative. They even called me to see if the tech could come earlier than our scheduled appointment, but I was unavailable. They called again to let me know when he was in route and 15 minutes away. Love the communication. When Jermaine arrived, he found a guest parking spot which is worth mentioning here because I live in a town home community where my neighbors would get "antsy" if someone took their spot. Since the appointment was at a time where people were getting home from work, this was very considerate. Jermaine introduced himself at the door and then proceeded to put plastic booty's on his feet. In my house, we take our shoes off before going upstairs, so our carpet stays as clean as possible from outside dirt. Before he came, I can honestly say I felt anguish over asking him to take his shoes off, as I get how much of a pain that is going up and down a flight of stairs and taking shoes on and off every time he needed to go back outside to check the unit. It made me laugh when he put on the booties that I didn't have to ask and that he understood. I can also say that a technician that takes that much pride in not putting dirt on my carpet and parking in the right place would probably take pride in his work as well. He fixed my unit and explained to me some options on how to make my unit perform better. LADIES BEWARE! Called Lindstrom due to a leak on my bathroom floor. I was told it would be $89 for the call. I was also told that an email would be sent to me with the name and picture of the guy coming to my door. I was impressed! But after waiting a few days for that email, the day before the appointment I called again and was told that email would show up that night. It never came. I only let the service guy in because I saw the truck. The service guy went into my bathroom, listened to what I had to say...NEVER checked anything and told me it "could be" my shower faucet (small leak) or "could be" the shower pan. Key words here being "could be". He told me that I needed to get rid of my the shower two faucet system and go to single handle which cost $1000. I knew that my current system could be fixed with one part but he insisted it was a liability to do that. He wrote up the $1000 and included $129 for some kind of contract that we never discussed. I declined the bathroom marvel. So, I paid $89 for him to stand in my bathroom and talk down to me like a bad used car salesman trying to sell more then needed or wanted. I don't know much about plumbing, but I do know when I'm being taken for a ride. Fast forward, I got the part for my shower, put it in and shower works like new! Part cost $16.00 from Home Depot. AND that is not where the leak was coming from! Called another plumbing company that came in, spent about 45 mins. actually checked the pipes, faucets and shower pan, etc., and found that it was a leak due to the bottom railing of my shower door. Simple fix. No more leak! Needless to say I will never-ever call Lindstrom for anything ever again! read more

We had two brand new units put in just over a year ago. We have had them come out over 10 times now for repairs. No person should have to go through 10 repair requests in a years time. Everything from coils to evaporator switches to condenser issues. The product they sold us is garbage, and we did not even cheap out. We purchased a middle of the road unit. I called Lindstrom Air Condition repairs to fix my 3rd floor A/C system which was no longer blowing cold air. A technician arrived and reviewed the system and informed me that that it needed a capacitor. He installed 2 of them, one of which was on a A/C unit that was functioning properly. He them came back and informed me that the 3rd floor unit had no electricity to it, and that was the actual problem. He told me to contact an electrician to fix the problem. He then proceeded to explain why I should purchase their $1,800 annual maintenance program which covers a lot of repairs. I was already a bit dubious given his apparent lack of technical repair knowledge, thus declined, despite his continued urging that I do so. Anyway, with the 3rd floor A/C still not working, he charged me $1,258. and left. Feeling scammed, I called Lindstrom's owner and was referred to his VM. I explained in detail that his technician did not make the requested repairs yet charged me an outrageous amount for doing absolutely nothing. Felt like an absolute scam. Lindstrom owner, nor anyone else from Lindstrom never called me back, never. I contacted another A/C repair service and their technician came out, reviewed the system and found that the fuse ($3.50 item) was blown and replaced it. AC System worked perfectly following the proper repair. My sense is that Lindstrom compensates their technicians based on the fee they charge, plus a financial incentive for "signing up" costly annual maintenance agreements, not based on customer satisfaction. I would avoid Lindstrom A/C at all cost. One star for showing up. Absolute rip off artists. read more

The crew showed up to install the 4 ton Trane and they did a fantastic job -- they were friendly and Glenn, who is very knowledgeable,made sure everything was perfect and It was!! Glenn took the time to show me everything that they did and made sure I knew how to operate the New A/C unit including the air handler and the digital thermostat. Avoid these guys, they are a rip off. They respond very quickly only to beat the competitors to your home, so they can high pressure sell you. They prey on people that are hot and need their air conditioners serviced or replaced. Their installers are high-pressure salesman; they quoted me $1,875.00 for an air handler motor for a 10-year-old unit. The cost of an air handler is $875 for an entirely new unit. I had John, a estimator come quote me on a ac repair. I live in a condo and new copper pipe needs to be run under building which makes it more difficult. They quoted me $ 1900 and I accepted the work to be done. 4 guys come out this morning and after looking at it for 2.5 hours John tells me they are declining the repairs they agreed to make. I don't even know where to begin. Air conditioning is two years old. Had a " maintenance", checkup on a Friday three days later, my ceiling caved in. The drain was clogged supposedly, and it flooded and the ceiling was soaked, and with the weight of the water it just crashed out on the floor with a big hole in the ceiling, couldn't get anyone out here from linstrom for four days .we had somebody come out and supposedly fixed the problem, I called him back an hour later because the air was still not on. That's when he supposedly found a leak sold me a maintenance package. When I called the office to schedule the maintenance, I expressed how upset I was because somebody was just there three days ago and my whole ceiling was soaking wet and with the weight of the water it collapsed " drains get clogged, ma'am, really? Somebody was just there and supposedly checked everything. That's just one of many issues I have with this company do not buy an air conditioning from them. So now here it is three months later and the air conditioning is not working. still waiting for their 24 /7 -365 days of on-call repair to call me back .spend your $7000 somewhere else. because my insurance company paid over $8000 to fix the ceiling, the walls with new drywall paint, which after they fixed it, they dropped me so thanks . The on-call response was the next morning which was Sunday so now I have to wait till Tuesday for somebody to even look at this thing and my house is 90 degrees inside. Wow! What a shady company. I had them come out for maintenance and they left my unit in worse shape than when they started. The tech said it would be 1400.00 for repairs and that I needed refrigerant. Good thing I had a home warranty and called another company who said the unit needed a new capacitor only. The tech at Lindstrom stuck a piece of mulch to forced the relay switch on, but never said the unit would continue to run constantly and that it would freeze the system. I shut off the breaker when I noticed it. Stay far away from this company! read more

Now that my A/C saga has ended here's Lindstrom Air's score card. Note- They installed my AC a few years ago. -Last Thursday A/C goes out -They can't come until Friday between 3-5 -Fan motor needs to be replaced under warranty - back Saturday to replace -No show Saturday (part did not come in) day wasted waiting for that news. -They show up Sunday late afternoon with wrong part, another day waisted. -Monday no show, part still did not come in -Tuesday, part comes in but I'm not on the schedule, call supervisor -They bring part Tuesday evening at 5:30PM and it's fixed in 20 min -Part (free under warranty) Labor ($280+89) after 15% discount for my troubles. Not nearly enough but I was not in a strong bargaining position. Manager (Budd) has still not called me back. I don't like to yell at hourly customer service people who are just following directions. Very frustrated with their company and management team. Would be hard for me to recommend them in the future. Worst of all, I could of fixed it myself if I had access to the part. UPDATE: Budd called me this morning after seeing this review. I appreciate that he did call. We had a good, professional talk about what happened and he made zero excuses. I'm happy with the resolution he offered and trust next time will be better. 2 Stars for what I went through and 4 starts for the resolution. read more

Several years ago, I bought a home that already had a service contract for the A/C and have continued to use Lindstrom Air since. Some of the technicians are great, and some of the office staff is great. I will say that up front. Polite, on time, and knowledgeable. But many are not. Some show up unprepared, and some have out and out lied to my face about what they need to do or what I need to do. I know this because more knowledgeable technicians since have told me so. Some show up for a simple twice-yearly preventive service and talk to me for hours instead of working (I work from home, so I am trapped). Recently, I've had repeated issues with condensate backups. It's gotten so bad that I usually end up without A/C at least once every 6-8 weeks. This happened again this past weekend. Usually the people who answer calls after hours and on are sympathetic and helpful. That was true this time as well, but it was not until late the following day (Sunday, 9/15/2019) that the technician could get here. When he arrived, the first thing he said was, "I need to get this done fast. I have two more calls to go." I explained the problem, and he went to get his shop vac to unclog the line. A few minutes later, he knocked on my door and told me his extension cord did not reach the outlet. I own a relatively small home, so it's ridiculous that someone could go on a service call without an extension cord (maybe 25'-30'?) that will allow them to do their job! So instead of using the shop vac outside, he had to use it inside at the air handler, and cut the condensate line so he could do it! The shop vac was in the garage. At one point, he took out the vacuum insert and smacked it against the side of the vacuum. I have A/C again now, but this was an even more temporary fix than usual. What I didn't see until the following day was that the technician had left white crumbles of who-knows-what all over my garage. I expect to do some cleanup after the inside unit is serviced, but this goes way beyond any mess anyone has ever left. I'm giving Lindstrom Air two stars because I have had some good experiences. But I agree with the other reviewer who said this is not the company it was. When I need to replace my A/C, I will definitely shop around. read more

I was referred to Lindstorm 4 1/2 years ago by my immediate neighbors and had them install a new Trane 17 seer 4 ton a/c unit, duct going to master bedroom, and Remi halo light. was disgusted to learn that along with a brand new Trane a/c system that was installed 4 1/2 years ago, that the new 9" duct work installed from the new unit across the house to the master bedroom was not hung at all and against code!! I was proactive and purchased from Lindstrom biannual maintenance agreements as well as purchasing new Remi halo bulbs every 2 years! I even used them to install our new kitchen faucet. I had always that that they were prompt and professional. I recently had 2 servicemen come out because of 2 returns leaking and the new plentum sweating around the Remi halo and pooling water. I was told that I now need all new ductwork because of age, tearing, or not being hung. How were they unaware of the ductwork being an issue and old when they were in the attic 4 1/2 years ago!? They conveniently didn't mention that the new ductwork that Lindstorm installed 4 1/2 year ago wasn't hung and is being pinched and broken from laying on the trusses. read more

We have been customers for over 10 years, purchasing our unit with Lindstrom A/C and using their maintenance contract service as well. Our A/C went out on June 5th. The tech came on 6/6 and installed a capacitor and contactor and the bill was $890.85. It was 86 degrees in the house, so we got it repaired as the parts were on the truck. Upon investigation and a few calls to other HVAC companies, these parts should have been under $100 for both parts. We have made 3 calls to Lindstrom to ask for explanation and a manager to call back. There have been no calls returned or resolution. BEWARE! Lindstrom used to be an excellent company but they are now GOUGING, even their most loyal and long-time customers, with this new pricing structure. We will be looking elsewhere for A/C maintenance and repairs. read more

Needed some valve replacements. Plumber wanted $300 a valve, needed 3, which was scandalous for a cheap part and straight forward service. Negotiated $775 for the job. Tech did decent work and did encounter a challenge on one valve. Still the $775 price tag is offensive. I felt they would charge as much as they could to really get me. I had made an appointment 3 weeks ago for the AC maintenance check. Unfortunately, when clearing out the closet access to the unit in the attic, I found some surface mold on the closet wall and I informed the service person. The appointment was canceled and I immediately hired a mold abatement company and then a separate company to take air samples to make sure all mold spores were removed. I have the lab results clearing the entire house of any mold and asbestos - including the actual attic. So I made another appointment with Lindstrom - service person was suppose to show up between 8am to 9am. At 9:45am I called when this person never showed. I was informed that the call had been canceled. Lindstrom Air did not bother to tell me the appointment was canceled and I was left waiting until I actually called them. My first question, is why didn't Jennifer (who is a "manager") - who I made the appointment with and had access to my history, didn't ask if the mold was removed and the home tested - she just made the appointment. Second, if anyone would of bothered to tell me they were canceling the appointment, I wouldn't be so upset. Instead they left me waiting for an hour and 45 minutes. I take mold seriously, especially in Florida and I would never put anybody's health in jeopardy. I did the right thing by hiring a company to professionally remove the mold and to be 100% safe, I hired another company to test the entire house for mold AND asbestos. The least Lindstrom Air could of done, is to inform me that they canceled the appointment. It is fine if they choose not to work with me. I spent 3 weeks researching ACs. Lindstrom had a "no pressure" sales approach and their quote was in the mid-range. After all of my research, Lindstrom was the most accurate and honest, without any attempt to cut corners or hide additional expenses. There was a problem with the dimensions of my AC closet on installation day, and the manager and sales person drove to my house and helped me find a different air handler. Since they are such a large company, they had the desired replacement in stock and were able to continue the installation that day. The installation team cared about every detail from putting down drop cloths to warning me before loud sounds. All of the research paid off and I'm really glad that I went with this company. read more

Having lived in Florida all my life, many suggested against using Lindstrom. I went against the warning as I am considering a new Trane A/C system versus repair. They are suggested by Trane and thus the deciding factor. Wife called at 730am today (Wednesday). We were told we were an emergency and considered a priority and we would be called 30-45 minutes before arrival. They would NOT provide a formal appointment or 2-3 hour window. No calls thru out the day either, we had to check in late in afternoon. I got home from office at 530pm and no one had arrived. I had already blown out and sucked out the pan and lines the previous night so clearly they weren't going to do any better at 630pm when we cancelled. How do you get parts or new system after hours ??? Typical poor South Florida service and overbooking appointments without the staff or experience to handle. Wonder how the owners feel when their family is treated the same way by businesses they entrust when an emergency happens. My 2 year old A/C wasn't working so I called Lindstrom for repair. Lindstrom installed my A/C. They told me the earliest they could send a repairman was 4 days out. The dispatcher was abrupt and nasty. She told me I didn't have a service contract and there are people with a contract that have to wait 4 days also. She told me "you do realize it's summer". How belittling. I then called Aztil and the dispatcher was professional and kind and told me they could have someone to me in 3 hours. Aztil showed up 3 hours later and the repairman was professional and extremely knowledgeable. The repairman had me up and running in no time. I'm so glad I didn't purchase a service contract from Lindstrom when they installed my AC. Thank you Aztil. Awesome service. I will be using Aztil for all my A/C needs!! read more

We have had Lindstrom since 2013. They serviced our Carrier system well. We then bought a Rheem system from them along with a maintenance contract. We had a few bumps in the road, but over all they have gone above and beyond to fix our issues with a few leaks. We even had damage due to a faulty installation issue and with no hesitation, they fixed the problem with the ac and all damage to our drywall, floor boards, and painted everything. They did everything possible to make us whole again. Robert DiRusso was very pleasant and professional. They were honest, patient, and the company has integrity.
