We have used Lindstrom A/C maintenance plan since arriving to Pembroke Pines in late 2018. Yesterday on 2020-07-04 they flexed to help us with A/C drainage concerns. Edward Dejean arrived on-time and achieved the single best maintenance outcome we have witnessed spanning across multiple states and multiple communities. Hands down the BEST service and he completely resolved our issues, he was kind and professional and even took the time, in the heat, "masked up" to help me understand how the A/C works and how best to do preventive maintenance between their visits. My condensate line clogged and my a/c shut down because of that. I called Lindstrom and Patty ( who is awesome) set me up to have a service person come out. They called me 30 minutes later to tell me that the serviceman ( his name is Chris) would be here in 20-30 minutes. He arrived a few minutes later and took care of the problem and checked out other things as well. Because I have a maintenance contract, there was no charge for clearing the condensate line. This happened at 5:30 pm so I was happy that by 7 pm, everything was fixed and running. read more

We bought 2 brand new AC's from Lindstrom about 1.5 years ago. They come regularly to check my AC and make sure everything works well. We've spent over $700 per AC unit adding LED's, surge protectors, and the annual maintenance that they told me "I have to have". We have had issues with our 2 brand new AC's regularly (they come about once every couple of months) and Lindstrom is never able to fully fix it. Today, they came and tried to charge me another $450 to fix the surge protectors that they sold me originally and then Ernesto (the tech) tried to talk badly about me in Spanish, thinking I would not understand. If I never have to use Lindstrom again It would be a great feeling. They are rude, unprofessional, and do not care about their customers. They will do anything for more money... I will never use them again, even if that means I void my warranty. read more

I have no problem paying for work performed, but to pay $236.08 for literally 5 minutes work with no parts is a rip off. When I was quoted the amount, I assumed the work was going to be actual work, not sticking a vacuum on a line for 5 minutes and saying done. My fault for going with the big company, and in the future I will stay far away. All I can say is, do yourself a favor and learn from my error and stay away. read more

Our shower faucet would not turn off the night before-so we called Lindstrom first thing in morning-they came right out-by about 9:30am. The plumber(he had an apprentice with him) knew right away what was wrong. Luckily-not a big problem-just needed new cartridge. The plumber, Louie, could not have been nicer-and very knowledgeable. He was honest, and fixed the problem perfectly. Price was very fair-no rip offs! I asked for someone to come out and give me an estimate on replacing my main line from the street to the house. I already knew what the problem was and didn't need a diagnostic or service done. They sent a technician out, he turned on and off the water valve and said I had a bad main line and it needed to be replaced - LIKE I ALREADY KNEW. He then billed me $89 for the visit, forced a service contract on me and gave me a crazy high quote to replace the line. I asked why I was charged the $89 and he said it would be refunded IF i go with them to install the new line. WHAT???? Sounds like bait and switch. I highly recommend going with some local plumber that will provide a free sales call vs. these rip off artists. read more

Lindstrom put in our AC unit and we use them for cyclical maintenance visits. Angel has serviced our unit the last few times and he is a thorough, professional technician. He doesn't rush through and short cut the visit. He explains what he finds and provides a current status of the unit's performance and potential issues in the future. Moved into a new home 3 weeks ago. The previous owner used this company and had a maintenance agreement with them. I called, a guy came out (could hardly speak English), put in a new thermostat, said he checked the system, billed me outrageously, and 3 weeks later I had to call someone else. If I could give ZERO stars I would! They are crooks who do not care about their customers !!! They were about to charge me $900 for a coil that was under WARRANTY. If a coil is under warranty then that means it should be essentially free right? So where is the 900 going to ? For labor ? The man who came to my house was very nice and pleasant however I would like to describe him as a wolf in sheeps clothing, preying on a mom of two small children who had no AC for a night in the sweltering South FL heat. My children are 2 & 5 btw. He never bothered to even flush out the pipes which was the real reason why my AC stopped working. Instead gave me some bs about a coil that will take TWO WEEKS TO GET!!! That meant no AC for two weeks in October , in SFL it is still in the high 80s in Oct. I did end up agreeing to paying that 900 and signed up for a year maintenance agreement , they got me in my time of desperation. Thankfully I have a friend who knew a thing or two about ACs but by no means an AC tech. He was horrified at the fact I had to wait two weeks for a part that could easily be picked up in an hour or two from the manufacturer. He came over took vinegar abs flushed out my pipes and wouldn't you know it my AC worked better than ever. It's still working just fine to this day , it is January. When I called to cancel all services and explain why they could care less . So do yourself a favor find another company. There are good people in this world and they are not one of them ! EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. DO NOT USE!!! On Halloween, my motor & fan in the outside unit stopped working. I called Lindstrom since I have a service contract with them and the technician came and I paid $89 for diagnosis. The part had to be ordered and was under warranty. As he left, I was informed that someone from Lindstrom scheduling would call me that night with a time for install. I never received a call from them so I called and they said to call back at in the morning. Called at 8am Friday morning and they still had no ETA on the part nor quoted me for the job. They said someone would call me back by 10:00. 10 came and I never received the call so I called them back and again, the response with no quote nor ETA. Finally at 11:30, they called me and said they would be out between 4-6. After 36 hours of no air (inside temp at 85, outside temp at 87) they showed up and quoted me $517 for the labor. I told him that NO ONE from Lindstrom (not the tech from last night nor the 3 reps) informed me that it would be $517 when my part was under warranty. So at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon with no air for 36 hours, I was stuck. Either pay for install or have them leave and be without air all weekend? I called Lindstrom prior and the woman at customer service was VERY apologetic and told me that a manager will be in touch with me Monday morning for some sort of refund since NO ONE quoted me on the job. Guess who never called me..... IF I would have known that they were going to charge me $517 for a 30 min job, I would have NEVER used them since my part was under warranty and anyone would have picked it up! After two days of trying to get a hold of a manager, they feel that $50 is appropriate for compensation. They have no concern that I am a loyal customer for over 10 years and spent thousands with them! The manager Andre told me that their rates are based on what they feel they are worth. HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!! I don't leave negative reviews unless I've had a really HORRIBLE experience. Robert DiRusso stopped by to check on the work of a technician that was doing our 6 month cleaning. I told them that I have previously had 2 Lindstrom technicians come out because one room was hot and the one right next to it was freezing. Right away Robert noticed what could be the main issue- fiberglass was cut to make the hole smaller on the vent. Not sure how 2 other people missed that, but so glad Robert stopped by because it would still be there. He also helped me with other issues and discussed replacing our duct work which we will do once it cools down. He was extremely friendly and helpful in answering all of my questions. I have used Lindstrom in the past for emergencies and went back to them when I decided to replace my two air conditioners. Their quote was double that of the next competitor! I had also purchased a service contract. In my second home I had another emergency when the handler froze and the blower stopped working. I called them first and they said the next opportunity to service the emergency was Sunday, 4 days away. I told them I had my 81 year old father in the home and they couldn't do any better. The advertising dollars for those expensive commercials certainly come from somewhere! read more

Do Not Use Lindstrom. Read the warnings and heed them. I am in the HVAC industry and purchased a new home that Lindstrom designed. Upon dealing with them and letting them know how they have improperly designed what I estimate to be 75 homes I started to realize what kind of company they really are. First and foremost, don't buy into this guy Joe that responds to every single bad yelp post because he is a ghost and I've called for months to talk to him and he doesn't answer or return calls. Next, the owners of Lindstrom must be some trust fund inheritors because never once has there been an owner in the office to talk to either, nor do they return calls. The highest person I have been able to get ahold of is Craig, the new construction manager, who has very little understanding of HVAC in general and he literally has only called me back a few times and responded to an email or two in the face of a class action lawsuit. But enough about the non existent customer service....let's talk about the actual company and it's knowledge base. I had several technicians, the service manager, and the energy and design manager out to my house to look at the problems. Every conversation with their entire staff has left me speechless because of the lack of basic understanding of HVAC principles. I kid you not, I've dealt with countless mistakes, confusion, and misconceptions that are so basic it blows my mind how they have remained in business. I can say with absolute certainty this company does not have the expertise to serve you or any future customers properly. When companies like this don't understand their industry then they are nothing but part changers. If you hire a part changer you are likely spend unnecessary money and have multiple call backs. Save yourself the headache and find experts and if you don't care about experts at least find a part changer with customer service. read more

Doug, I noticed that you have responded to alot of the bad reviews here. I have a yearly maintenance plan with you and I noticed that the price went up. I too won't continue with Lindstrom. I left Universal to go with you but it's time to change. When I purchased my expensive UV light (about $700) I was never told that the bulb would need to be replaced. Truthfully, I don't even see the benefit for buying this expensive light. To my surprise, I was told on this last visit about replacing the again expensive bulb. I obviously said no. The AC seemed to have another issue, which I am looking at a $700 repair. As we know, you are not the cheapest but you may keep more customers if you lower your prices a bit. Each and every time one of your tech comes by, they all have tried to sell me something just to write it on their invoices. I even have the plumbing and same. Had a very expensive air conditioning unit put in a year ago. Was told all parts were under warranty. When it stopped working this week they came to fix it and charged me just as much in labor for one hour as the part would have cost. When I complained they said they were not sure they would get the money back for the part so they had to charge me for it. Why say parts are under warranty if that is not the case? I have never been more dissatisfied. I called for a quote to upgrade my home AC system. New compressor, new outside unit, new duct work...the works. When the representative, Joe, came to my home, all he did was complain about what a mess my current system was and how it was going to be such a pain to complete the job. He acted as if he wasn't going to get paid. Not only was it a complete waste of my time, but he left without even giving me a quote! He told me he didn't think his boss would "approve" the job. Called a week in advance and spoke with Tom and set an appointment for a supervisor named Kevin to come out and give me an estimate. Called in the morning they were supposed to show up. They had to call me back. They said he was on his way. 45 minutes later, still waiting. Was told someone would be over at 9am. I called back at 10:40am and thanked them for wasting my time and I was glad they had so much business that they didn't need mine. Contracted with Lindstrom for purchase and installation to replace 2 whole house AC units. Very quick response with good pricing and scheduling for the installation. Showed up as scheduled with 6 men. Installation was fast , crew was very polite and friendly and did an excellent job cleaning up. That is the good news. Now for the not so good news. Air handler on one unit ran all night so I called about the problem. They promptly sent out a supervisor to check on it. Turns out they wired the air handler as it was hooked up to a heat pump instead of a compressor. Also noted to supervisor that installation crew had not tested the heat function on the new units. Good thing I did. He discovered they had installed the wrong heater in each unit. He reversed them. Think everything works now. No excuse for these errors. Good installation is critical to reliability. Thank goodness I noticed problems. In fairness, I will say Lindstrom promptly responded with a supervisor and fixed them. Hopefully, that is all the problems we will encounter and excellent service will continue. Would have given them a five star if not for installation errors. Update. 2 months after installation, unit quit working due to a coolant leak where a connection was not sealed. Called Lindstrom at 4:30pm on a Friday and technician was here at 6:30pm. Great service. Excellent service from Aaron Martin. Quickly diagnosed the problem, gave me an explanation and fixed it at no charge under warranty. Kudos to Lindstrom and Aaron Martin for their excellent service. read more

If there was something less than one star I would give it to them. I have a Service contract with Lindstrom A/C. The service contract says priority service over non plan customers. Fast response 24/7 day emergency service. I called them, had to push several buttons before I spoke to a live person and I waited on hold for quite a while also. Monday my air conditioner wasn't working. it was 90° in my house. The soonest they could get somebody out was 4 days. So much for a fast response priority service. They said it was very busy in Florida and that it was summer blah blah blah. I saw a Cousin's Air Conditioning van go by. I called them a person answered the phone first ring and they were out at my house in less than five hours. read more

Absolutely awful. More interested in selling a service agreement than anything else. We called this company to service a less than a year old ac that was not working-shame on you for ripping off elderly customers on unnecessary work. They supposedly cleaned the drain pan, and claimed to have cleaned the drain line and added freeon-the service man was gone not 20 minutes and the unit stopped working. Lindstrom sent another tech who did spend time cleaning the drain line (supposedly had been done by first tech). At least the 2nd tech told us it was an association line issue...so why did the first person charge us for $130 worth of freeon (sp), cleaning the pan and of course the service agreement which was his priority. We ended up calling another company. Came out the same day. Found and showed us the so called cleaned pan still full of dirt and confirmed that there was no need for freeon as there was no leak, nothing at all to indicate that it was needed. It has taken 10 calls, numerous emails for a manager to call...still waiting since 6-29. Please be very careful about using this company. Their self promotion and claims are simply not even close to a what a reputable company does. At minimum, if you have a customer calling regularly with an issue, management should call back and at least hear out the complaint. No one, not one single individual has had the common professional courtesy to return calls or emails. Shame on Lindstrom for selling services with false claims, charges particularly in communities that house senior citizens. Btw, called another company, came out the same day as Lindstrom showed us the still dirty pan (a service Lindstrom claimed to have done) and confirmed that no freeon was ever needed as the issue was a main line that services all apartments. Association did the work, zero charge and that 2nd company - terrific and honest without putting anyone down. read more

Plumber came late Monday because he had issues with his nanny no call to let us know he would be late. Was here maybe 15 minutes told us the problem was not our garbage disposal and pipes it was the dishwasher and the dishwasher hose needed to be moved up. He however did not do that. Lindstrom plumber was in such a hurry to leave we couldn't believe it. Charged us 50$ because we have service contract. Called the dishwasher repair they came and checked out the dishwasher and he moved up the hose (asked why the plumber did not check to see if there was a clog in the pipes? told me he did?) however the garbage disposal was still not working. He said you need a plumber. . Dishwasher worked fine charged 120.00. Called another plummer they were here within 2 hours cleaned out the garbage disposal drain took them all of 15 minutes cleaned up after themselves. Now sink, garbage disposal and dishwasher are all working great. That plumber charged us 125.00. So bottom line. - if the Lindstrom plummer did his job we would not have been charged and extra 225.00. Along with waiting another 2 days. read more

Our central AC took a dump in the late afternoon a few days ago. I figured great, hottest days of the year and late in the afternoon, I didn't expect quick service. But I was wrong, I called Lindstrom and was told there would be someone out between 5 and 7pm. Well to my surprise only 1 hour after I called Tiwayne Watson from Lindstrom showed up. Within 1/2 hour he had the problem diagnosed , and was in contact with his office. Early the next morning Tiwayne arrived with a new A coil, (they determined was covered under warranty) and had it replaced and running in just a few hours. We were so pleased with the fast service, quality and expertise of Tiwayne that we signed up for their maintenance plan. We highly recommend Lindstrom! read more

Called at 3pm for a severe toilet clog. I was told no estimate on arrival time but tech would call half hour prior to arrival. I asked how much it would cost and the rep said 125 plus work. There was not much work...we had already removed the toilet..what we lacked was a longer snake. Well the total came to $450 dollars for 10 minutes of work. Awesome company! We had a technician come to clean out our 3 air conditioning units and start a maintenance plan. Our tech was Tiwayne and was courteous, and very knowledgeable answering all my questions. This by the way is the 3rd company we've had here and have only bought the house 18 months ago. Our warranty company kept sending their people and one guy literally banged his fist on an electrical component and said all fixed. So I decided to go with Lindstrom as they were pretty big and had excellent reviews By the way their maintenance plan was 1/2 what the first company charged. The tech was here for 3 hours and did a full and complete maintenance on all 3 units. I Would HIGHLY recommend this company!!! Very satisfied read more

UV Light SCAM. I have a maintenance agreement with Lindstromon for my air conditioner unit that Lindstrom installed. They came for routine maintenance and the tech said there is a little mildew maybe mold from the condensation building up on the unit and I need to buy UV lights, so the black spots will go away. He took a picture and showed me. I asked, are you sure this is all I need and you guarantee that the black spots will go away. He said definitely. I paid $711 for them to install the UV lights only to find out this was a scam! The UV lights did nothing because as it turns out I have mold all throughout by house stemming from an old ac leak. I filed an insurance claim and hired a mold remediation company that had to remove part of my ceiling, floors, and drywall. Now that my house is free of mold, I need to have the coil cleaned. I called Lindstrom and asked them to remove the UV Light and clean the coil, which is what should have been done instead of the scam UV Light. I have called 4 times and over the past 2 months and am still awaiting the manager to call me back. read more

CAUTION TO EVERYONE CONSIDERING LINDSTROM FOR THEIR A/C NEEDS --- STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!! I do not often write reviews but after my horrible experience with this company, I feel obligated to let everyone know how unprofessional and dishonest this company is. Lindstrom installed my A/C unit about a year ago. I live in a new construction community. Despite regularly maintaining my unit, over the past year, I have had various issues with my unit. This weekend my unit stopped working. Because of a not so great experience with Lindstrom in the past and due to their overpriced services, I initially consulted another A/C company to assess my unit. The other company determined that the condenser fan motor was broken and needed to be replaced. They called the manufacturer to order the part and were informed that the part could not be ordered under warranty because Lindstrom registered my unit to my neighbor's address. The manufacturer suggested that I follow up with Lindstrom to find out what happened and to help remedy the situation. That same day, I called Lindstrom to advise them of the situation. After being advised that the one person who handles this situation was not in the office, I was told that a technician could come out to my house on Saturday morning to take a look at my unit. On Saturday morning, the technician arrived. I told him that another company assessed the condensor motor was broken. He laughed at me and told me that the other company was trying to rip me off. He completed his "comprehensive" analysis and determined that the unit was not working because the unit was low on gas. Quick fix, right? Well, after paying $284 for gas and the service visit (which Lindstrom charges $89 and the other company charges $39), my A/C was still not working. Lindstrom sent another technician out at 9:30 pm. The second technician immediately determined that the condensor fan motor was broken!!!! Wow, what a brilliant assessment, right?!?!? The technician advised that the parts dept was closed on Sunday so the new motor would not be ordered until Monday. Not having any other options, I ordered the new motor. I called Lindstrom on Sunday to get a better understanding of when they will be able to come back out and install the motor and had the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE experience I have ever had in my life. After explaining my situation (first, not being able to order parts under warranty because Lindstrom carelessly registered my A/C to the wrong address; second, receiving an incorrect assessment from Lindstrom even though I advised the technician that the motor was broken; third, being charged $284 to add gas that the other company never said I needed and an additional $407 to install the motor; and third, not having my one year old A/C unit still not functioning), the customer service rep basically told me that he did not understand why I was upset. He told me that the first technician that came out to my house (and gave the wrong assessment even after I told him what the issue was) was one of the company's best (much better than the second technician). Dumbfounded by this statement, he then told me that I was lying about the warranty situation because the company's system reflected that my unit was under warranty. After confirming that the company's system was wrong, he then told me it's not a big deal. It's a quick fix, which he could not assist with and I would need to call back on Monday to address. After realizing that the first technician may have botched this one, he then told me that mistakes happen. As I sat in my hot home, with my 3 year old son complaining how hot he is, the customer service agent told me that he understood that I was upset because my A/C was not working but did not understand why I was unhappy with the service provided by Lindstrom. He then told me to have a nice day. Folks, people who know me, know that I am a very patient, fair minded person. I put up with a lot of BS that many people would not. I could not stay silent about this horrible experience. This review will be followed up with a complaint to the BBB and attorney general. read more

Lindstrom came to service my 10,000.00 ac I bought 16 months ago.I paid $89.00 for the srevice call. The highly trained tech shut off my ac before he left. I called the office within 5 minutes, to have him return and turn it back on. My husband and I have to spend the night with no ac., in our home. We called the suposed 24 hour service department to be told they did not have 24 hour service North of West Palm Beach. Which we were lied to about when we bought the ac. They told me if I bought the Cadalic Tran system my electric bills would go down. My electric bill has gone up in the last year. This ac makes all kinds of crazy noises. That is why we called for service. Not to spend the night sweating to death, because there tech decided to turn off our system and not return. My ac was noisy, but it did work before they came and charged me $89.99 and runed my night! Beware of things these people tell you to get you to buy.
