Lindstrom came to service my 10,000.00 ac I bought 16 months ago.I paid $89.00 for the srevice call. The highly trained tech shut off my ac before he left. I called the office within 5 minutes, to have him return and turn it back on. My husband and I have to spend the night with no ac., in our home. We called the suposed 24 hour service department to be told they did not have 24 hour service North of West Palm Beach. Which we were lied to about when we bought the ac. They told me if I bought the Cadalic Tran system my electric bills would go down. My electric bill has gone up in the last year. This ac makes all kinds of crazy noises. That is why we called for service. Not to spend the night sweating to death, because there tech decided to turn off our system and not return. My ac was noisy, but it did work before they came and charged me $89.99 and runed my night! Beware of things these people tell you to get you to buy. I called Lindstrom air because my AC was leaking. First technician, Eddy, cleared my drain line. He then attempted to upsell me a 1 yr maintenance service agreement of a system that only lasts 10 years when my AC is nearly at 10 years, which he knew. Eddy did not properly fix the issue. The AC continued to leak. I called Lindstrom again next day. Customer service was extremely rude and refused to give me an estimated time of arrival. 6-7 hours alter I called Lindstrom to notify them I have a baby and that the technician needs to call me to give me notice and do not ring doorbell. No call, he rang doorbell at night, woke up a very upset baby. It was around 9pm. This was Peter. Peter tells us our AC has a cracked pan. We told Peter to please notify the office to cancel our service agreement because we dislike how the prior technician misdiagnosed the problem and lost faith in the company. Peter had to order a part... So AC still not properly fixed after two technicians. Third technician John who also showed up hours later than estimated time from Lindstrom. He tried to upsell us even more. He also claimed the inside and outside coils were leaking oil and needed to be replaced. John said since two months left on warranty of our AC, we should use our warranty to replace the parts. Lindstrom by the way calls American Standard to get the parts at we don't know what price, and then they tell us each part is $750 even under our warranty for labor. John also lied to my husband saying he was at our home since 1:30 when he did not arrive until 3pm. After March 9 with John, I called Lindstrom and asked to speak with a manager. They put me through to voicemail. I left a voicemail saying I'm extremely disappointing in how they train their technicians, each diagnosing different things and then discrediting the previous diagnosis. Each technician tries to upsell you something you dont need. Finally Dwayne came to the house, he said the Pan was cracked, but no inside or outside coils needed to be replaced, which is what John said was wrong and tried to upsell us $1,150... So in sum, each technician must be making some sort of commission on lying to their customers to upsell them on products and repairs that are not needed. Lindstrom is also falsifying and being dishonest to American Standard as they are putting through parts that arent broken. We were told our first check for the service agreement in the amount of $328 was cashed and too late to cancel it. They offered us a a credit towards the total repair of $755 , leaving a balance of $427, which we also paid. 3 weeks later they claim the initial deposit was in fact voided and we still owe $328.00 for Labor. We feel completely dissatisfied with the service and how the situation was handled , and unacceptable to charge $755 for a cracked pan which costs less than $20 in parts. BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! Bottom line ... they lied to me and said my 10-year warranty was only good for 5 years!!! I purchased my Trane A/C from Lindstrom 6 years ago. The motor quit. They came out and tried to sell me a new motor for $1,300. I called Capitol A/C. They asked me for the unit's serial number, called Trane, called me back, and said the 10-year warranty was still in effect. I then stopped communicating with Lindstrom. Capitol A/C's labor charge for the pick-up, delivery and install of the replacement motor was $70 less than the price Lindstrom quoted. Not once did Capitol ever try to upsell me anything. Lindstrom never stopped trying to upsell me a service agreement. When I made the call to Lindstrom, set-up the initial service call, waited all day and the repairman finally arrived, that's when he said I would have to pay him $89, for entering my home. He took great lengths to explain that whether or not he could be of any assistance at all, even if he could not diagnose the problem, he gets his money. I attempted to confirm that the $89 would apply to whatever work we agreed upon. He said because it is a hot day, and they had many calls, that Lindstrom makes that a variable policy. Because, "we gotta make our money when we can." Not once, at any level, did Capitol ever explain their concern for profit, rather at every level they expressed their concern for the issue at hand and its speedy resolution. Love Capitol A/C. Feel polar opposite feelings toward Lindstrom. I have no horse in any local A/C company race. I am simply so angry at Lindstrom for trying to re-sell me something they originally sold me that was still under warranty that I am taking time to write and post this. High Price / low service. Bought a top of the line installation two years ago, Great install crummy follow on service. Service agreements are high($$$$), and for preventative maintenance they don't do much. No cleaning of coils, Never check existing filters for replacement, try to upsell on every visit, told me existing UV lighting system was out of warranty, when in reality it wasn't. In fact the power plug had vibrated loose and just needed to be resinserted, accident?? not sure. On two occasions I asked to speak to the G.M. about service. NO ONE ever called me, even to written correspondence. However, they are never late with their service renewal contracts. I went to another company...Stay away.. read more

This is not the company that you want to use. We moved into a house we bought cash and thus didn't have a full inspection. When we got here from Chicago we discover that the water heater and the plumbing in the master bathroom needed work. We had didn't check reviews. The plumber wasn't professional at all he smelled funny and the replacement of the water heater went quickly but the job in the bathroom took way to long. About two days!! Three weeks after the repairs we kept hearing running water in the bathroom. We called them back out and come to find out that the leak was worse then the first. They said that the leak came from a different source and would cost us more to fix. Classic bait and switch. We were disgusted and just called a different plumber and it was fixed easily. I have been a customer for several years and have always had good services but last night I had an emergency call as my a/c stopped working at 6:30. A technician was at my house by 7:45 and stayed till 10:30. He was extremely competent, professional and extremely considerate. He explained what he had to do, what he did and why. He cleaned up everything before he left and apologized for the breakdown. Very impressed and would highly recommend Lindstrom. read more

I have a three year old home with Carrier equipment. Lindstrom installed it so I have been using them for maintenance. Nine days ago one of the units that cools my kids bedrooms stopped working. I called early in the day for service hoping they could come out the same day but they were able to com to fix in the next day. The tech spent about three hours trying to fix it but could not and said it needed a computer board. He could not give me a date or time when he could come back as I had to wait for dispatch to call me. The next day they call to say the board would be in "a couple of days and when they receive it they would schedule the repair" I am on day 3 with out air in the kids bedrooms it is over 80 degrees, I move them to another part of the house with air to sleep temporally. Two days later I get the call from dispatch and schedule the tech for Monday (7 days with out ac). Tech comes out, spends another 4 hours and guess what, it was not the board it was an inverter. It needs to be ordered. Again he could not give me a date or time when he could come back as I had to wait for dispatch to call me. The next day my wife calls and is told that they will call us when the part is in and not to call again. WHAT! I call and demand to speak to a supervisor. I literally get the runaround, the phone people are well trained, I had to insist on getting at least the name. After asking four times the operator finally told me the supervisor is Bud, no last name and put me through to his voicemail. I left a curt but professional message expressing my displeasure with the situation. I explained that if the first tech had diagnosed the problem correctly a week earlier we would not be in this situation. I expect "emergency" service as they advertise and to call me back. Bud did call back and left me a message on Tuesday (8 days without AC) stating that he would get the part expedited and get it fixed Wednesday afternoon. Guess what... no one called me today (9 days without AC). I just called for Bud and the gate keeper would not let me talk to him. I was told they did not get the part. When I asked if it was expedited I was told they did not know. They expect it tomorrow which will be 10 days without AC. They are incompetent, Bud the supervisor can not be reached by a client. I called the builder of the house and he stated that Lindstrom is great at installations but they are terrible at service. I agree! read more

RUN FROM THIS COMPANY. At best, they are incompetent, at worst, dishonest. I have had 8 service calls over the last month to repair a faulty AC through their service contract. The unit works for a day or so then fails. No technician able to correctly diagnose issue. At last visit, supervisor Dwayne tries to up sell a new unit and then states that Lindstrom will no longer honor service agreement! His reason? Says Lindstrom has come out too many times. I agree! I tried to speak with Lindstrom owner Jeff about the competence and integrity of his company, but was told he was in "an all-day meeting." Follow-up with another employee, Bud, who states that Dwayne incorrect. In frustration, I called another AC company. They perform leak tests and IMMEDIATELY diagnose and repair the leak!!!!!! I recently used Lindstrom to replace a 10-year old system with a new Carrier. The inspector has just been here and told me, "These guys always do such a good job." So there you have it. Previously, I was screwed out of a lot of money for the "miracle" UV light which turned out to be useless. It was taken away with the old unit, but that pertains to a different visit. The first tech was nice enough. Had he fixed the issue I would leave 5 stars. The second technician had no idea what was wrong with the unit. But he replaced two parts and crossed his fingers and said lets hope that does it. Now it's taking over 24 hours for them to come out a third time. I can't leave my house because I have animals and if I close the windows in this heat they'd probably die. But lindstrom definitely does not care. I have a long story about an older reliable Trane A/C unit I had replaced with a newer Rheem unit. Long story short the Rheem unit lasted about 6 years and I had nothing but problems with it so I learned a very expensive lesson and decided to have Lindstrom replace my 6 year old Rheem unit. My experience was excellent. The installers did a great job and everything was installed as I had specified. It has been about a year since installation and my new Trane unit is not only saving me more than $100 per month but I've had zero problems with it. It just runs. I'll be calling Lindstrom the next time I need A/C work done and I'll definitely be buying Trane units from now on. read more

This is actually my second post as I removed the first one to see if the company would redeem themselves. My experience with this company is beyond a nightmare. When the first technician came out he was rude and start assuming what the problem was with my AC and then started quoting these outlandish prices before assessing the problem. Once I said that I needed to get a second opinion and if he could possibly do a diagnosis to see what the problem is, he stated that I needed to check it myself and proceeded to leave. Very unprofessional and rude. My next visit was for them to do the actual repair so they sent out their technician Aaron. Since their boss was angry with me for making my initial post that I removed he had his technician Aaron put a nest of bugs in my home. After he left I have had bugs flying all around my home. What they didn't know is that I have hidden cameras in my house and I have already reported them to law enforcement. So if you ever write a bad review about their company you better not hire them to do a job because they are nasty and vindictive. I am going to run their reputation in the ground. My entire community where I live has reported how incompetent this company is. I live in a brand new development and the majority of the HVAC units have serious issues with Lindstrom Air Conditioning. read more

100% Dishonest to the Core! My wife called Lindstrom after one of our a/c units stopped cooling. After arriving nearly 90 minutes late, their service man tried to hard-sell her into buying a new unit before he even bothered to diagnose the issue with the old one. After she insisted on repairing the old unit, he quoted a price of $600 for a tiny 3 inch diameter fan motor on a 1.5 ton unit...I am not joking! He replaced the motor in all of 5 minutes, but did not bother to replace the rusted out motor-start capacitor. When I called the next day to complain, they said that they wanted another $200 for the capacitor! I then called a local appliance parts business, who told me that I could have purchased the same fan motor for $44 and the capacitor for $18. In conclusion, save your time, aggravation and money by steering clear of this company! read more

We should have read the other reviews. Lindstrom seems professional from the outside, but their experience level, their customer service and their management dealings are terrible!! We bought a new TRANE 2 years ago from them, when we were told it was going to be $1000+ to repair our present AC. One week after we purchased the new air conditioner, we had a recurrence of our original problem, water in the ceiling...After 4 visits, they finally realized that the original leak was caused by a broken pipe which could have been repaired without obtaining a new air cond. (They fixed it with duct tape) We were not happy to realize this but we figured, we would have needed a new AC in the next few years anyway. Fast forward 2 years, our TRANE was not working. Being under warranty, the part was free,BUT the labor to replace the fan motor was $89 for the diagnostic and $378 for them to come back and replace it. This took less than an hour.We called the customer service manager to discuss the pricing. We wanted to understand how they arrived at this cost, after all it was under warranty, and cost us almost $500 for a warranty repair that took no time. The customer service manager offered very little in response to our phone call other than "thats what we charge". We cannot help but feel like their pricing is a total rip off, and that they do not really care about creating customer service relationships for the long run. read more

I originally called Home Depot to install our hot water heater but upon arrival, it was clear the problems were about to start. The installer (a subcontractor) started off with "I thought this was going to be a simple install?"....."you need a new valve and that's $125 more"..."I need to reposition your drain pipe. That's $75 more". Well, that was it for him! I asked him to move on and called Lindstrom. They were here in 2 hours (thank you Bob!) and finished the job perfectly for $100 less!! I've never hired Lindstrom before but based on their quick response time, great pricing and friendly techs (thank you Alexander & David!) Very honest and trustworthy I called 4 different AC companies, all small "family" owned Well, sometimes "family owned" means your money goes to their family... Lindstrom's out of all the AC companies I called were the only honest and thorough company They went thru every diagnostic check possible So all the others with their 20 second diagnostic you need a a new AC check, proved to be wrong...I had a new capacitor put in and everything was around $350.00 not $5k++ While I will need a new unit soon, maybe a year or two, I will only call Lindstrom's Also, very important, make sure your AC techs are NATE certified...this is a continuing education and certification for AC techs. Its the gold standard. Lindstrom's is one of the only companies that encourages their techs to be NATE certified. Just looked at reviews, boy o boy a lot of bad reviews?? I guess the experience is based on technician? Gotta laugh I edited my review after reading the reviews...while my experience was very positive not gonna lie these reviews worry me...Good Luck whoever you choose. Read up, take a couple hours to teach yourself and learn about AC so you are somewhat screw proof, ask ask ask to support any repair or recommendation for new unit Dont trust words, use your eyes, have them show you numbers like amp's, voltage etc...like a Xray that shows a broken bone, there are tests, numbers they need to show customers to validate spending 5 to 10k on a new unit. read more

Yesterday and today I had the pleasure of interacting with some Lindstrom employees regarding a problem with a water heater I purchased just over a year ago. From the staff who answered the call (Joey), and Frank the Plumbing Service Manager to Joseph the plumber who repaired the problem they are the reason why I continue to do business with Lindstrom. I've purchased an AC unit, Water Heater and AC maintenance agreement from this company over the years and have never regretted it. I have used other such companies in my lifetime but I have encountered nothing but politeness, courtesy, professionalism and more important truly experienced technicians! I must thank Frank the plumbing manager for doing what he didn't have to do, my year warranty on the water heater had just expired and without hesitation he stepped up and repaired it in a timely manner all under warranty. He could have done what was legally binding in their favor but he did what was ethically right and for reasons such as this I am highly recommending Lindstrom for your plumbing and AC needs. You get what you pay for in life but no amount of money can provide you with courtesy, care, integrity and professionalism that I have encountered with the staff at Lindstrom. Thank you very much! Lindstrom was very quick to answer and set up a same day appointment and that's about the only good experience I had with them. I had an AC issue where the compressor was no longer working on a 10-year Trane system, so I had a good feeling it was some type of start/run capacitor that was faulty. The technician arrived and quickly determined that it was not a good sign that no hot air was being expelled from the outside condensing unit. He hooked up his diagnostic equipment and determined that indeed one of the capacitors was bad as he temporarily hooked up a spare device and the system began to cool. He proceeded to explain that the cost to replace the capacitors would exceed $1k and that he recommended that I replace the unit because a blown capacitor is a sign of an aging system. He also stated that he had to order the parts directly from Trane, which would take about 2-3 days so I would have to make do with no AC until then. In my mind I'm thinking, (1) Why couldn't he use a temporary part to hold me over until the Trane parts came in or (2) find a suitable aftermarket replacement. He pushed to consider replacing the system, so I paid him for the visit and promptly contacted another repair company through Home Advisor. 2-hours later the technician arrived and determined the same problem as the Lindstrom tech and replaced the capacitor for less than $200. I'm truly disappointed in the Lindstrom tech and believe he could have done more to fix the unit instead of, in my opinion holding me over a barrel, leaving me no option to replace the system. I will now identify the capacitors needed for my system and obtain spares for less than $30 for emergencies. Moral of the story is to always get a second option if your gut is telling you something isn't right. read more

Our AC started blowing warm so my wife got a quote from this company while I was at work. She called me to let me know that she was told we needed a whole new system for $6,600 and that the contactors, motor, and capacitor were all broken. Lindstrom told my wife that repair was not recommended because of the age of our unit and that even if we opted for repair it would take over a month to get the parts so we would be without AC for all of that time. I found that to be high considering I did some research of my own the night before and for the size of my home a new system should not cost that much. I told her to get a second opinion and thank goodness we did. She called Fleming Brothers who told us that what Lindstrom was claiming sounded odd because it is very unlikely that all 3 of those things would be out at the same time. We ended up having Fleming Brothers come out and it turned out that only the contactors were out. They had the part readily available and we had our AC working again within a few hours. It was a $220 fix, not $6,600 like Lindstrom said. This company is a bunch of scammers. Go with Fleming Brothers since they are honest and care more about retaining customers and getting referrals than cheating customers. read more

Marvin arrived on time and went to work explaining what he was doing to address my occasionally slow draining toilets. He snaked the main line to the street and then inserted a camera on a cable and showed me the entire length of the waste water pipe. Turns out, they were clean and the problem is the circuitous route my pipes take to the street. Solution: use septic-safe toilet paper so it will dissolve when getting snagged rather than build up. The best part? All this for $93. read more

Buyer beware- follow up service is dreadful. I am NOT a fan. We had a new AC system installed the end of August and other EE's had to return twice because initial crew could not complete the installation. They did not have tools to relocate drain pipe (on the work order) and did not measure for the filters which were to be delivered a few days later. Another crew had to be scheduled for the drain pipe. I had to call 3 weeks later to find out what happened to filters and was told someone else would make another house call to measure. The salesman who gave the estimate stated that a new thermostat would be installed which would have to be moved to a wall that was not connected to the laundry room, calling it an outside wall. We agreed on the new location, but the installers said they couldn't put it there for some reason, and chose another spot, far less convenient for us. Worse yet, we hate the new thermostat, and when I called the service dept with questions, a lady named Jennifer refused to let me speak to someone with that knowledge, still wanting to send someone to my house AGAIN! Said we would be charged because it has been more than 30 days, even though we were never given options on the thermostat to start with. We felt as if they just installed what they wanted (probably more expensive and higher profit), and they don't care about the consumer. Very Untrustworthy, dishonest and overpriced We have an 8+ year old carrier HVAC which was running hot for a couple of days. Had it checked by an AC tech who was on a call at one of my neighbors. He confirmed low Freon and advised not to "Gas-n-Go" until the leak was detected. Since he didn't have the equipment, he asked us to get another AC tech to find the leak first and then go from there. We decided to call Lindtrom in Palm beach since they were the original installers of the HVAC system. While seeking the appt we told their CSR rep what the issue was and why we wanted their service call (non-emergency, next day). The so called Lindstorm tech barely spent 20 minutes, told us what we already knew and advised a complete new HVAC system. When asked to find the source of the leak (evap or condenser coil or elsewhere), he kept insisting that the system needed to be replaced due to the age and the leak. He gave us the option to replace both the coils which is almost comparable to a new HVAC unit. It was obvious, he didn't like to get his hands dirty or wasn't really deep on troubleshooting (shallow knowledge) or was just lazy and wanted to take the easiest way out. He spent more time inside his van than near the HVAC components. On top of that, he scheduled a next-day call with Lindsttorm for an estimate on a new unit. Got hold of a real AC tech later that evening who knew his stuff. Not only did he find the leak (in the evap-coil) within 20 minutes but since it could be fixed, he brazed the coil it and now we have a properly functional AC. Some of the scare tactics: Evap coils are rusty and near their end-of life (They was no major rust. Coil have another few years if maintained annually as they have been for the past eight) Condenser coil condition bad and is also near end-of-life (The condenser and coils are in almost excellent shape with absolutely no rust ) System uses R-22 so get rid of it (wanted $55/Lb to charge.. what a RipOff, going rate in my area is $25-$35Lb) Had a chance to look at the Low and High Pressure readings later with the other AC tech and the system metrics were in line with a 3-5 year old unit. You always know a company through its people. The worst service you can possibly receive. Wish we had checked them on the internet first. Whenever we have to replace the unit, it certainly won't be Lindstorm, in our home or any of our other rental properties. read more

I had an appointment for preventive maintenance for 8:00 -9:00 a.m. on a Friday. They called the Wednesday afternoon before to confirm that time. On Friday by 9:00 a.m. no tech and bo call. I called the office and was told that they had a "meeting" and the tech could be there "shortly," which she clarified when asked meant "about" 45 minutes. I asked why I wasn't called, she offered no explanation. Needless to say I cancelled my service agreement, about which she was indifferent. From beginning to end, this has got to be the most positive "homeowner maintenance" experience I have had in the past 16 years. From the gentleman who came out and gave me my estimate, to both Mike and Dave who installed my new water heater - there was no question that I asked that was too unimportant, no detail they missed - from wiping up their footprints on my white tile, to wearing booties on my white carpet, to making sure - since the water had been off - that all water throughout the house was working - air free. Yes, they were friendly, knowledgeable and competent - but there was a definite sense of personal integrity and pride not often seen these days. Truly a great experience! read more

Called Lindstrom plumbing and air about a dishwasher installation. They said they don't give estimates over phone. Made an appointment. Person came and told me $508.00 for installation or I had to pay an $89.00 service charge. I had all the parts and a new in the box dishwasher. All the person had to do is pull out the old dishwasher and put in the new one. Way overpriced for this service!!!!! read more

Working in the restaurant business I am constantly dealing with HVAC issues and it's always hard to assess the necessity of the recommendations AC companies come to you with. Our tech, Eddy F, with Lindstrom was so great about explaining the work he was doing on our house and providing honest suggestions about what did and didn't need to be done. As a result of our experience with Eddy, we actually decided to sign up for a yearly service contract! read more

My girlfriend lives in a condo, just had a brand new ac, pump and water heater installed about a year ago. Everything has been working perfectly and life is good. The ac guy her parents used moved so they went with Lindstrom and got a service contract with them to ease their minds. Big mistake. After routine maintenance check and service on our ac the literal next day the unit stops working and we have to send out a technician. Great. He tells me after 5 seconds of looking at ac that the pump is shot and we'll need a new one he said it's about 300 bucks but luckily he had one in the car and he could have it fixed In an hour. Now idk what it was in me that didn't check his ass on his bs right then but i went with the convenience factor. Ended up being 389 and he fixed it. Didn't take too long aside from the fact that he had a 15 minute conversation in my buildings hallway cursing up a storm. Literally talking about police putting him against the wall and this b word that and ef this stupid mother effer like seriously?? Whatever though we got AC so we thought it was all good. Not so much. Literally that night my water heater in the same closet stops working. So my 1 year old water heater and condensation pump both have issues. Now I'm not that smart but let's call a spade a spade. My Lindstrom air conditioner is almost 6 years old...I have had nothing but trouble with it...My neighbors actually call me laughing when they see the LINDSTROM truck in my driveway...this past week my air conditioning stopped working AGAIN due to water drainage...I just had them here one month ago for the same reason...they sold me 3 small bottles of something for $54.00. This was to help gunk buildup in my lines..well, that didn't work....I called for a repairman AGAIN and was told that I would have to wait for 3 days for him to come out. My neighbor suggested her Air conditioning man and he came by at 10:00 pm...needless to say, he was shocked at all the work that had been done on my air conditioner....after speaking with him for awhile I KNEW he was telling me that I was being ripped off....I am done with LINDSTROM after almost 6 years of misery....I cancelled my contract and will be using a more reputable company from now on...BYE BYE LINDSTROM, WON'T MISS YOU~~ read more

Update: Lindstrom called Monday morning and acknowledged their errors To help compensate they gave me one year preventative maintenance gratis. I just wish this could have been resolved sooner. read more
