They give great haircuts, the female owner is usually booked the most and has been doing it for years. I've been coming for about 5 or more years. I enjoy it because it's not a bunch of young tattooed guys smoking that are taking an hour to cut my hair. It's a family run business that tries to create a good calm vibe. To address some of the other things said in other reviews. They do have pets, a rabbit and a chihuahua, they walk around but there not in the way or a bother. As far as them being racist, they are not racist, I am white and I don't speak spanish and they don't treat me differently from any other client. If I walk in and someone goes ahead of me it's often because they have an appointment. They are really nice every time I come in even with the language barrier we are still able to communicate and understand how I like my hair. They do prefer appointments to help avoid the wait. They don't always take walk ins I think it just depends how busy they are. The positive side is that they don't charge extra for appointments like most other places do. They do post $25 haircut everywhere, if you ask for anything special such as a design or a beard trim they might charge extra. Cookie has been my barber for the last 3 years. I haven't had a better consistently good, friendly, barber I believe most of my adult life. She knows her stuff and she does it fast. Her and her family are so accommodating and make me feel at home. I feel super comfortable with cookie. Don't be scared to tip more than $5, tip like $10 and it's totally worth it. Let me start off by saying that I hate coming here but my 17 yr old son insists on coming here to get their hair cut. I used to go inside but now I drop him off and try to find something to do and come back to pick them up. Reason why I no longer go in there : the crappy sound system is always blasting rap music, the barbers conversations are vulgar, no respect for the mothers that are actually PAYING for the haircuts. (Don't bring your young child here) They don't like cutting young kids hair (I've heard them say that) They don't acknowledge customers as they walk in and the wait time is usually 2 hours. And they pick and choose who they want to service... I guess they don't care about making the most money possible , which is sad because a couple of these guys are really talented and do good haircuts. I had been looking for a good barber shop for many years, after not finding a decent one I had settled with getting an okay haircut. Then one day I found this barber shop when I was on may way home from getting off at the Covina Metrolink Station. I stopped in and got a haircut. Not only was I impressed with the customer service but by the fact that these guys really know what they are doing. I have been there many times since and have noticed that each time I go there, they have more and more customers. No matter how long the line, their barbers usually get you in and out within 10 to 15 minutes . The atmosphere is really great and they have large LCD televisions throughout that keep you entertained while you wait or get a haircut. I highly recommend this barber shop. read more

I showed the lady the cut my son likes from a picture and she was able to do exactly the way he wanted it so I'm very happy I finally found a barber that truly can do the job the way he likes it also my sister in law brought her son and was very pleased that she's now bringing her boys and it's our new barber .. both female and male barbers are amazing and extremely nice and attentive. Hi, this place has not closed. It only changed ownership, the previous owner shut down on yelp. I was curious walking in and it has become my favorite shop. Let me say this. It has a better friendly service with better quality personnel. It is family oriented with great certified barbers, hairstylist, and also eyebrow threading professionals. New ownership has the right people working with the best service here. Open 7 days a week , weekdays 9 am to 7:30 pm, weekends from 9am to 5:30pm. This Barbershop is a little hole in the wall, you might miss it if you're driving too fast. Parking is in the rear. These ladies know how to do really nice Fades and Tapers though. I took both my teenage boys to get their trims and I was pleasantly surprised. Their prices are really good in comparison to other barbers in the area, at least 30% cheaper. This place totally LACKS customer service. They made my son and my father wait almost TWO hours for just a cut!! It's a bunch of young guys too busy on their phones, it's LOUD, the barbers are obnoxious and they had absolutely NO regard for people waiting, Two of them decided to take their lunches instead of helping people who were waiting! There are TOO many other places to choose from in the area to put up with this kind of service. 1 star for Line it up. I used to come to Line it up often and I have had my haircut by 3 of the barbers at line it up. They each did a good job. The guy who owns a motorcycle, Andrew, and Gus all do a really great job. Unfortunatly, the shop is always blasting some contemporary hip hop nonsense. I say blasting because the barbers have to yell at one another to communicate. I imagine customers would want to have their barber focus on the haircut and not yell in their ear. The conversations they have sound like the things a high school kid talks about and every other word is a curse word. It is very unprofessional. I cant imagine a mother bringing her child to this enviornment for a haircut. A word of advice to Gus. If you want customers to return, you really should not talk about, make fun of , or complain about previous customers in front of other customers. Overall, the barbers I mentioned are talented. I would have given this location a zero if possible for my terrible experience. I have been going to beauty unlimited across the street from line it up for years. The lady who owns is very nice and extremely experience since she has been cutting hair for 15 years and has had her barber shop in the same location for 12 years. So one day i decide to try a new location after going to beauty unlimited for 5 years. First of all the wait was ridiculus. I waited about 1 hr and 30 minutes. When my time came up i got this younger looking guy probably mid to early 20. I was a little hesitant because i did not feel he was experience to give me a low taper. it was a simple hair cut that the lady across the street makes it look so easily. The guy went to high first of all. The guy also too forever litterally 30- 45 to give me a hair cut. The lady across the street always does my hair in 15- 20 tops and always does it flawlessly. Instead this guy, made one line higher than the other i felt. When i asked him to fix the side i felt was lower, he told me that it was fine and i did not know anything about haircuts and that how it goes. This was extemely rude, DONT TELL ME WHAT I WANT. I am the paying customer so i decide what i want. If i want a clown hair cut then i dont need you to tell me how it goes since i am deciding. If i want you to raise my line then do it and dont tell me that I'm wrong, like as if it is your decision. So he did not only raise my line as a regular taper but was also extremely rude when i asked him to fix the uneven side. Being this my first and only experience i will never return nor will i recommend to anyone who is looking for a talented reliable barber in this location. I could not get a haircut based on probability like flipping a coin, you might get a good barber but also have the chance of getting an inexperience barber like i had. Bottle line you could not teach experience which tmy barber lacked. So if you are looking for bad customer service( the long wait and crappy haircut with rude remark) then this is you location. I needed a quick haircut. I've had a Mohawk for about 2 years now and recently I've been doing it myself ever since the Rona shut down my regular place. My cut is pretty simple since and all I would do is use the size 1 clippers and shave my head, but I hated that if the back of my head was left too long it would look like a mullet. So I decided to try this place out. I ask for a Mohawk with a #1 on the side and a trim on top, and also told the lady that I wanted the back shorter than the top. The whole time she was cutting my hair she never turned the chair so I can see in the mirror how she was doing it. She grabbed the hair on the back of my head and asked if I wanted half of it cut. I said yeah sure. She then proceeds to cut ALL of it by half. Totally butchered it at the end when she finally showed me. I was pissed but I told her to just now cut the back with the #1 to match the rest. The top of the Mohawk isn't even defined at all. A Mohawk goes down the center and this cut she left all the top in tact even though I told her multiple times I wanted a Mohawk. Now I can't even style my hair till it grows back again cuzs it's too short. She was nice though and wasn't sour when I asked to just go in again and just fix the back, so that still merited a tip. Overall the price was cheap and it was quick, but not that great of a cut read more

The customer service here is trash. In all honesty the barbers are fairly decent and cut some cool haircuts, but it most definitely is not worth the hour plus wait. I literally sat there for more than an hour before ANY Barber even looked my way. I have been here more than once and the experience was the same each time so I finally just left. I wouldn't recommend this place for cutting hair length (men) The lady completely butchered my hair and doesn't know how to properly layer or texture hair and left my top length lopsided and rough looking layers. Even for the sides she didn't go back and make sure the fade was even and left long hairs near the bottom.
