I am a huge fan of Thai food, so when I was in the area, I was curious of the options that they offered here. Linjee Thai came up, and we had to go for their cute aesthetic and vast variety of food selection. Our server came over after a couple of short minutes to get us our drink order and appetizer orders. There were an abundance of options to choose from and we ended up getting their curry puffs and their sweet chili chicken. We also got the pad thai and the drunken noodles for our entrees. Now to dive into the food, the curry puff was packed with lots of filling and flavor. The sauce that it came with was a refreshing sweet sauce that definitely ties the dish all together. the sweet chili chicken wing, did not disappoint. It was crispy, sweet, a bit spicy, and overall so delicious I wanted it as my main course. The pad thai was so flavorful, it balanced really well throughout the entire dish. Don't get me started on the drunken noodles, it was rich, it was spicy, and it was delicious. Service and atmosphere was a 10/10! Our server was attentive, nice, and very helpful as it was our first time trying their menu. Our host got us our seats right away and was super friendly when greeting us. I've been seeing Linjee all throughout my social media, so I was excited when I finally got to try it out. Surprisingly, it was not packed at all--important to note that I went on a Sunday night! I didn't try any of the drinks so I have to come back for that. But the food was good! I love how they bring the food out in this little flower cage. You can the adjust the spice to any meal when ordering. There were so many options to choose from so it's a must for me to come back to explore the menu. The only con I could say is that the spring rolls seems bland to me. I didn't really care for the spring rolls--they just didn't have that "umph" to me. Great presentations from the drinks that comes in the Smokey globes to the baskets that hold the amazing bites and entrees.. Monday thru Thursday is Happy Hour all day! The drinks are flashy and social media ready(meaning great pics). Definitely in love with the lengthy bar they have and neon lights all over. This is going to be an unpopular opinion but it was very mediocre. My fiancé picked this place after he saw it on social media. It was located at a stripe mall and very pretty small inside. It got couple decors for the Instagramers but nothing too interesting. The food was okay. I feel like the apps were very similar to the things I pulled out of my air fryer. The pork belly stir fry was good, the meat was a bit tough though. Fried rice was fried rice, not bad but nothing to wow about. I don't get the birdcage serving tray concept neither. I went here last night for dinner with a friend. Atmosphere is nice, vibe is nice and inviting. Decor is very nice and instagram worthy. The drinks are strong but good and lots of drink options. The food lacks a lot for me. They present most of the food very nice but the taste is not there at all. I was extremely disappointed in my main dish as it was giving me imitation Thai ...lean cuisine meal. If they was my first time eating Thai I may have never wanted to try it again but I have had some amazing Thai before this just wasn't it at all. Linjee Thai is one of the newer Thai restaurants in Alexandria that surprisingly I've been seeing a lot of lately on social media. So, when the weekend came around and I didn't feel like cooking I decided to give it a try and I'm glad that I did. The restaurant is located in a busy shopping plaza which had me a little hesitant before entering, but once you walk in, I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious and cute it was. Definitely IG worthy (grass walls and neon signs). We started with the Spring rolls, bacon wrapped scallops and sweet chili garlic wings. All were good but the wings could've had a little bit more seasoning to them. Oh, let me not forget that they served the appetizers in a cute I guess I'll call it a birdcage with pink flowers (again very IG worthy). For entrees we both opted for the drunken noodles. One with chicken and the other was seafood which included shrimp, scallops, and mussels. Both were cooked well and flavorful. My friend even mentioned that he wished he got seafood instead of chicken. So happy that I got to try Linjee and I'm sure I'll be back to try out some of their other menu items. Service was fast until the end and food was brought out quickly. The crab Rangoons were the best I've ever had! Such light and flaky pastry shell with delicious filling. You could eat a lot of these since they are so good. I tried the drunken noodles with beef at the lowest spice level which still had some spice. The beef was flavorful, hot and tender but got hard with time. I liked the sauce with the drunken noodles and they had so much flavor! Also tried a bite of the chicken pad see ew which was wayyy more flavorful than most Thai places' versions of this dish. I haven't dined in this establishment, but have ordered take-out. Their food is gorgeously delicious! Their crab Rangoons are delicate yet so enjoyable. Those are just a few of what I've tried. I would give it 5 stars, but I do believe some of their dishes are overpriced. Again very delicious, but I believe I would frequent their restaurant more often if they've dropped their prices $1-$2. Great environment! Customer service is okay. There is a need for improvement, but not so bad! I highly recommend this restaurant to be added to your frequent weekly visits. Sooooo!!!! I didn't know this place was literally down the street from me by the Giant off of Little River Turn Pike! It's so cute ! Definitely has some IG worthy picture spots...I wasn't cute enough for flicks. Pricing is very comparable to other dinner places. However, they have dine in specials Monday-Thursday that are definitely cheap like $5 wines and $7 or $12 drinks. The crab Rangoon's are bomb and drinks are potent ! Beware! Tried this place solely based on an Instagram post. Decor is very nice but the food was mediocre at best. To me this is more a party/pre-gaming/social media location rather than a legit Thai restaurant. Plus coming in on a weekend night seemed like 2/3 of the crowd was ready to head to the club after eating. We had a kid with us at 6pm; I wouldn't call this place family-friendly. Service was so-so - our table frequently had empty water glasses and we had to flag down a server to keep refilling. Also crazy that they aren't being attentive bussing our empty plates and just piling our dessert plates onto our table. You can easily judge an ethnic restaurant by whether those of that ethnicity are represented at the tables. That definitely wasn't the case here. While the serving sizes were decent the sauce and tastes were definitely not authentic. And for the price, I'm surprised how much business Linjee Thai gets when places like Sisters Thai (a staple with authentic food, multiple locations, and similar IG-level decor) or Mae Ornnit costs less! Some pluses for the food - the serving sizes are bigger, and if you want to eat halal they do have halal chicken. However there are so many more authentic Thai places with better tastes at a better price point. read more

My friends and I had a good time here for lunch. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was empty - literally just the three of us and staff so it felt like a private dining experience lol. In terms of atmosphere, the music was at a decent level and there was modern decor with the neon signs and grassy walls like many of the new businesses nowadays. On to the food and drinks... we enjoyed everything. For cocktails, we ordered the Dragon Drama, Late Night Text and some type of margarita. All delicious. Their fried rice comes in either traditional, basil or Linjee style (with lychee) and I decided to try that version with crab as my protein. The lychee added a light sweetness to the rice and was good. The seafood protein addition has mussels and other seafood but not crab, the crab is by itself. I also added their vegetable side stir fried with soy garlic, which was really good. My friends enjoyed their basil fried rice and the other had the pad see ew and spring rolls. We all had enough left over to enjoy later. As with the Thai standard, you can add the level of spice desired by adding the various spicy condiments that are on your table. It goes from left to right, mild, medium, hot and extremely hot. I added the first and barely added some medium and wouldn't dare go any spicier lol. Our server was on point and made sure we were satisfied with our orders. She also made our drinks and she did a great job. We ended with shots. On the menu we noticed that some shots were essentially shot versions of their cocktails. We enjoyed the Strawberry Tequila lime shot salt rim, Green Tea shot and Spicy mango shot with tajin. If you want something extra or celebratory, there are cute additions like sparklers, fire sugar cubes, smoke boxes and/or gold flakes that can been added to your meal/drinks. We came here for an early dinner, and we ordered: +Satay Chicken Skewers - marinated in yellow curry with peanut and cucumber vinaigrette sauce; the chicken was cooked well, and they weren't too thick; the peanut sauce was a bit bland, so I wished it was more savory; it was thick and creamy, though! +Pad Thai - prepared with rice noodles, eggs, bean sprouts, green onions, and crushed peanuts in a house tamarind sauce; I got this with shrimp, and i was surprised that 8 pieces came with! It's super cute inside. Nice place to do brunch. I actually stopped by right before they closed. (Their kitchen closes at 9:40pm) and I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai with extra sauce on the side. I don't think I've EVER enjoyed pad thai that much, anywhere. And though I plan on trying some of the other dishes on the menu the next time I'm here, I'm glad my first impression was of this exquisite pad thai! The pork belly tacos and fries were also outstanding! Nothing was overly fried or greasy; coatings were crispy and dry. Inside, the pork belly and peppers, onion mix were the perfect balance of crunchy and saucy. The sweet soy sauce served with the dumplings were also an amazing way to top and complete each bite. Lastly - even though we were stuffed - we ordered the mango and sticky rice for dessert. So worth it. The mango tango and mojito mocktails drinks were superb! The servers were super friendly and attentive and helped me pick out a dish when I didn't know what to order. They recommended the crispy duck and it was SO GOOD. We ordered the pad thai, crab rangoons, and chicken wings too. Everything was super delicious and it came out really quickly. From the outside it is pretty unassuming since there isn't much of a sign to tell you it is a Thai restaurant. However, the inside is nice decorated and modern, which you wouldn't expect looking from the outside. I came on a Thursday the restaurant was probably a third full, but it took us 5 minutes to get seated. We got a the butterfly shrimp, fried calamari, the sweet chili wings, the seafood pineapple fried rice, the Linjee fried rice, beef pad see ew, the beef noodle soup and a couple of drinks. The appetizers was not bad, although the wings was a tad too sweet for me. In stir fried dishes there was sort of color or char on the food. I appreciate they did not hold back on the spice. The level 2 was properly hot! Service was friendly, but I feel it was kinda slow. The food is more modern and contemporary. If you are looking for traditional and authentic, this would not be it.
