Maybe it's me. But a restaurant that offers fried rice should, oh I don't know, actually fry the rice? Apparently not. Rice was clearly prepared from frozen and by the anemic appearance of the veggies, they were as well. Sometimes you want that genuine Americanized Chinese fried rice that's stir fried with oil, scallions, onions and an egg scrambled in towards the end. If that's what you're looking for, this IS NOT the place. General Tso's chicken was passable and hubby liked his Szechuan chicken so there's that. We had dinner at the restaurant. It's not big, but it has a nice atmosphere and was very clean. We had the scallion pancakes, Szechuan beef and cashew chicken. Everything was fresh, flavorful and done well. The prices are great with generous portions. It's just a really solid Asian restaurant that is a great value located in a tourist area that has typically high prices. We again enjoyed an excellent meal at this small cozy restaurant. Very welcoming, friendly, and timely service. The low background music made for a nice relaxing atmosphere. There wasn't a stream of to go order pickup throughout our meal like the summer bustling summer season. This evening we enjoyed the egg drop soup served with crispies, then sesame chicken with fried rice/ eggroll and seasame beef served on an elaborate and beautifully and deliciously decorated platter with rice on side (not pictured). The tea was fabulous, very sweet and so good I may have drank 2 full glasses! My husband wasn't a fan of the tea, but his diet is similar to a child's, so... Family owned business. I felt welcomed in a way that made me feel warm, like a cozy blanket being wrapped around my heart. Recollecting I very much enjoyed my experience. Walking in I was already fond of the restaurant. Such a beautiful setting with easy music to calm my restless thoughts. I had the opportunity to meet some of the family briefly and it was enough to urge an embrace out of me, my arms left still wanting to be filled. I wanted to stay longer so I could enjoy a longer conversation. I'm a very conscious eater yet the food was delicious with well balanced flavors and wonderful portion sizes. Lin knows what's up. She's the only Asian restaurant within close distance of Sandestin, has a tiny little room that you have to wait in to get your food (no dine in), and her food is LEGIT. We were hungry after beaching and day drinking one Sunday so we came upon her place and were pleasantly surprised. We tried the crab Rangoon, the orange chicken, the shrimp fried rice, egg rolls, and sesame chicken. Everything was fresh and piping hot when we got back to the condo to dig in.
