Recently stayed one night at the Admiral Dewey Inn. I couldn't recommend it more! Friendly and easy check in. Exceptionally clean and classic. Bed was so comfortable and the shower had excellent water pressure and a wide range of hot to cold. I prefer a really hot shower, and sometimes places don't have the water hot enough. This one was perfect. Right down the street from South Kingstown Town Beach. No tv or refrigerator in room but there is a common fridge in the kitchen downstairs along with a self serve Keurig machine. Looking forward to spending a few nights in July next year so I can enjoy the beach in high season. Also, a short drive to Matunuck Oyster Bar where you will get a fabulous meal. read more

Adorable inn at Matunuck Beach. Super clean. Great communication before arrival and upon arrival. Cute guest room. I was in room 7 on top floor. Nice self-service continental breakfast. I was up and out early and appreciated the coffee and English muffin. Will definitely return when I have more time to enjoy the locale. read more

A charming Inn in the perfect location! We enjoyed our two night stay here, as it was within walking distance of so many things such as the South Kingstown Town Beach, the Vanilla Bean ice cream shop, the Seaview Marketplace, and the stores and shops downtown such as the Surf Shop, the Pizza shop. the Pub, and the Ocean Mist. We loved all the amenities here available to guests such as the bicycles, continental breakfast, a water filling station for refillable water bottles, and beach towels and chairs. This charming inn has its quirks as it is part of the National Registry of Historical Places, but its charm is undeniable with its wrap around porch, tastefully redesigned common spaces, and self serve style service. read more

The "Brunch" was actually a standing-room-only, Hors d'oeuvre session with no tables or chairs. The coffee, my god, was really bad. Gritty is the word that comes to my mind and watered down. For the food, they handed you small plates, and you walked around with your drink while you tried to balance and eat your food. At one point, I had to use the fireplace mantle for my coffee. It was expensive, and we expected a chef to prepare and serve extraordinary food. I feel bad for the chef they brought into the place. The ambiance and inept setup overshadowed his food. Beautiful B & B complete with wrap around porch and an outdoor shower literally steps away from South Kingstown Town Beach. The host is super friendly and informative being sure to explain all COVID related requirements. We were able to walk from the Inn to the Ocean Mist very easily. We also walked to SKTB both mornings we were there. The parking lots were very clean, not overcrowded at all and the bathrooms were sufficient. Come for the beach - stay for the breakfast! Levon cooked up a delicious apple bacon dish as well as a peach cobbler type dish this morning. I loved having my breakfast on the big, beautiful porch overlooking the meticulously maintained grounds with a hot cup of coffee. I would definitely recommend staying here and enjoying some beach time to anyone. This particular stay was a girls trip and the two twin beds with private bath fit the bill for a night away at the beach. read more

I did not stay at this wonderful little place BUT my parents did recently for their 32nd wedding anniversary. Before they arrived, I called and spoke with Levon, the Innskeeper. I explained the situation and asked if I could ask a HUGE favor of him, to leave a bottle of Prosecco & bag of peanut M&M's in my parents room w/ a note from their favorite daughter, me. Not only did he do it right away & text me a photo of the perfect surprise treat setup, but he wouldn't let me pay him for it!! Levon, if you're reading this, message me your Venmo handle ASAP! We booked a room 6 months in advance so my cousin could attend out 50th wedding anniversary party. We paid in full for the 2 nights. 6 days before the party my cousin came down with covid and we had to cancel the reservation. Unfortunately their reservation policy requires a 7 day notice to receive a full refund. So why the 5 star review? The manager went "above and beyond" to find someone to rent our room so they could refund our deposit. The service and support were exceptional. I gave it a 5 star. The rooms are great. I had 6 people who stayed with me. The breakfast Levon makes outstanding cuisine. It is difficult to get a Uber/ Lyft out here so rent a car. Beach is walking distance. Theater by the Sea 20 minutes walk. Everything is walking distance from this Inn. Clean and had all the amenities that you need. I went during the summer months in July. No a/c in our room but we were fine with the windows open and the fan on. Fresh air is the best to go to sleep. Next door is a deli shop. The baguettes hot and delicious. You need to ask for it. It is a great place to relax and get away from your busy schedule. It is a must see. read more

this is our fourth year taking a late-season beach jaunt (our annual very delayed mother's day getaway!) at the admiral dewey.... we started coming here when levon bought the place and keep coming back because we love it. it's clean, quiet, and laura is very accommodating with our coming and going and perpetual snacking! good coffee is ready early, and a dee-licious but un-fussy breakfast is made for us every morning. we are sent off for our beach day with a homemade muffin to go, plus there is cereal available all day long for post-surf snacking. My husband and I just returned from a weekend at the Admiral Dewey Inn and we enjoyed it so much! The inn is super clean and has so much character. We loved sitting on the big front porch in the morning and in the evening, and the pretty beach is a really short walk away. There's also an ice cream shop right down the road and a little grocery store next door. What really made our visit was the owner Levon - he was beyond kind and helpful, made a great breakfast and even cookies for us one afternoon. Felt like staying at a friend's house! A historic seaside retreat is a car ride away from Manhattan! My husband and I discovered Matunuck Beach Rhode Island a year ago and loved it so much we built a house there. While we waited to occupy our new home, we stayed at the Admiral Dewey Inn for several weekends. This elegant victorian matron of a house was perfect for us. Across a small road from the beach, it offered relaxed and comfortable accomodations with a truly Rhode Island vibe. The Admiral Dewey Inn is 2 1/2 hours from NYC (longer on a Friday night in summer!) in some of the most beautiful ocean front property in RI. If you are looking to get away for a weekend, this is a great destination. Levon provides a wonderful breakfast, beach towels, and even bikes for touring around. We enjoyed live rock music and fresh fish at the Ocean Mist and relaxed ocean front roof top dining at the Pub right around the corner. I can only imagine how lovely it will be in the fall as the leaves turn. read more

He also provides a fan in each room. Rooms are clean and everyone is friendly. Levon even sat us down and gave us recommendations for places to eat and tourist attractions. We recently stayed at the Admiral Dewey Inn by chance and it was the best bed and breakfast we've ever experienced. We were on a five day trip to the Poconos and the Poconos was not the place for us. We decided to leave and find a place to stay near the ocean. When I called the Admiral Dewey Inn I spoke with the owner and he reassured me that he would turn our vacation around. We had no idea what to expect but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by the owner who was so nice. The Inn was fantastic. The rooms were clean and decorated so nicely. There was plenty to do within walking distance. There were a couple of pubs with live music all weekend, a great little pizza place and an ice cream shop. The area was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic. All of the guests were very friendly and the owner knew each and every person and engaged in conversation with everyone around the table. The owner let us borrow a couple of bikes to cruise around the area for the day. We ended up staying at the Inn for two nights. We will definitely be returning soon. Our 3rd stay at this wonderful B & B. I cannot say enough about this gorgeous Victorian home.The rooms are immaculate and cozy. Its walking distance to the beach and several beach bars. Beautiful wrap around porch to watch sunset. The Innkeeper/owner Levon is a hoot. A very pleasant gentleman who always makes you feel at home, he also makes a wonderful breakfast we had Creme Brulee French toast one morning that was to die for. He's a lot of fun to talk to and such a great host. I would recommend this establishment to anyone staying in the Matunuck/ Wakefield/ So.Kingstown vicinity. I stayed here for a wedding that was held at Theatre by the Sea. When I initially booked, I was underwhelmed with the hostile reservation process. At this point I was merely booking for the sake of proximity to the wedding venue. When I arrived, however, I was pleasantly surprised to meet the new owner: a gracious, friendly and hospitable innkeeper- Levon. Although I am not one for the old Victorian decor of many a B&B, Levon's energy and intention for renovation made this an insignificant point ...and his breakfasts are phenomenal! The location of this inn is perfect for proximity to Theatre by the Sea or even just a weekend at the beach. With it's picturesque white wash wrap-around porch with rocking chairs and welcoming staff, I give the Admiral Dewey Inn two thumbs up. read more

My family and I stayed here in early October, 2014 for a few days. Levon, the owner, made us feel right at home, even preparing special breakfasts for us. He has a fantastic sense of humor that kept us all entertained during our stay. The Inn itself is a fantastic piece of period architecture and decorated in the style of the era. The beach is close by and beautiful. It's a quiet place, safe, and a great get-away from urban settings. This place is great. Excellent location, very close to the beach. Levon is a gracious host and an excellent cook! The sun dried tomato and basil egg dish was amazing followed by French toast grand marnier brioche. The house is very New England and very quaint. Beach chairs and towels are available. Love this place! My husband and I stayed here a few years ago when Levon had just started running the Inn and coming back was definitely a great idea! The rooms are cozy and comfortable and the staff makes you feel welcome. Breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious. So close to the beach and the town bars and restaurants. We used the bikes and the beach chairs and towels that were available for guest use so we did not need to pack any of that! On a rainy day, we hung out in the living room, watched a movie and played a few games of "Battleship!" so there's even stuff to do on a lazy rainy day! The next time we need a quick getaway from the city, this place will be on the top of our list! read more

It's very clean, with fresh towels daily if you want.
