    Pommes purée

I must admit that I had very high expectations for Lion's Share, and although most of my experience matched that expectation, some of it fell a bit flat. I came for a casual date night with my husband and the vibes were on point with the restaurant's proclaimed "luxe tavern" charm. The service did truly stand out as one of Nashville's best, and the cocktails were exceptionally crafted and tasty, but the food wasn't as well balanced as I had hoped. COCKTAILS -Another Taylor Burton fling: fruity with heavy bitter notes; my husband preferred this drink -Spicy coriander margarita: I loved this spiced, tongue-tingling drink so much I ordered a second! RAW -Hokkaido Scallop: as a dill-enthusiast I was excited when I saw this dish come to the table, but disappointment quickly overtook. Perhaps the scallops we had were just not that sweet, but the citrus sauce was too bitter for my taste and canceled out any sweetness I have come to expect from a good raw scallop presentation. SNACKS -bread and butter: I love a good cultured butter, but this one was a little too chilled to spread on the soft bread without smashing it a bit, hindering its fluffiness. -grilled avocado: it was okay, but not memorable and not worth $16 for half baked/grilled avocado. My portion was gray/rotten once I cut into the inside. Hard to tell which parts aren't perfect when using a whole avocado. -pommes purée: literal perfection. Creamy, starchy, and the perfect compliment to a bite of steak. FROM THE HEARTH: -asparagus: first of all, the sauce is my new favorite thing in the world. I ate it with the pommes purée, the filet, AND the salmon. I'd dip French fries in this sauce. It's so good. However, the asparagus was nearly inedible. On a scale of raw/0-10, it was a 1, like it was barely blanched. -king salmon: delicate and silky with a subtle smoky outer layer of crunch. One of the best preparations of salmon I can remember being served at a restaurant. -filet (medium rare): so tender and delicious but paired incorrectly in my opinion. The sauce had too many contrasting herbs to feel balanced and I couldn't quite grasp what flavor concept I was supposed to be tasting. Overall, I would come back for the service, cocktails and some dishes, but would order more intentionally while well informed next time.

Such a great new addition to Sylvan Park! We had such great service from Jonah and Julia and took all of their food recommendations which were spot on. We had the bread and butter and the beet salad as appetizers, both of which are not to be missed. Our favorite dish was the ricotta and mushroom agnolotti. The pasta was tender and light, nestled in an incredible sauce. We also enjoyed the salmon which was cooked perfectly, paired with buttery pommes puree!

Lion's Share is the latest addition to the Nashville food scene and is worth every moment and dollar! Serving up elevated, expertly curated and perfectly executed dishes coupled with hand crafted cocktails and next level service, Lion's Share is an absolute experience from entry to exit! We dined on a Monday evening at 5:30 PM and upon arrival, while they were ready for us, we grabbed a cocktail from the bar/lounge area. They have a specialty cocktail program that offers up all the classics, but some with a twist and elevation in ingredients and presentation. The bartender was engaging from the time we sat down, not just handing us a menu and waiting on our order. He asked what we enjoyed, what flavor profiles were our favorites and then recommended cocktails based on our likes. A nice personal touch to get our evening started. I am a gin fella, so I went with the Another Taylor-Burton Fling, a gin based cocktail that was light, refreshing with a little bite. My partner went with a classic Old Fashioned and our friend did a Manhattan. Both classic cocktails that were expertly made. Once we made our way to the table, Anna, our server, quickly greeted and welcomed us. She started by giving a quick run down of the menu, how each section was laid out and what to expect. They like to take the full order, starters and mains, at the same time, so they can appropriately course out the meal. With that, we looked things over, asked a few questions and then mapped out our evening to include a phenomenal spread from all areas of the menu. For starters, including Raw, Chilled and Snacks, we went with the Bluefin Tuna, Little Gem Lettuce, Bread & Butter and Grilled Avocado. The Bluefin Tuna was PHENOMENAL and the Grilled Avocado was shockingly flavorful! Not sure how they made a simple avocado ripe with so much flavor, but they did and it was impressive. In addition to what we ordered, the Chef/Owner, Robbie made his way to our table and also shared a few dishes including the Suzuki and Kanpachi with us. Both were expertly prepared and delightful to enjoy! For our Mains, or "From the Hearth" we had a collection including Ricotta Agnolotti, Ora King Salmon and Pork Belly sided with Pommes Puree, Jumbo Asparagus and Maitake Mushrooms. The salmon was absolutely stunning and the squeeze of lime brightened it up for the perfect bite. The Ricotta Agnolotti was well portioned, packed with flavor making it rich, but not overpowering, and the blue crab balanced each bite. The Pork Belly was tender enough to be cut with a butter knife and had the perfect amount of smokiness that offered up a classic BBQ taste in a simple, yet elevated package. While the proteins were the stars, the sides held their own. The pommes puree was the standout and was easily some of the smoothest and silkiest I have ever had! The mushroom was hearty, yet tender and perfectly grilled. All the dishes, including the sides featured light sauces, which never overshadowed the food and did not change the true essence of the plate, only elevated each bite. The balance of sauce on each dish was impressive. To round out our meal, we sampled a few desserts including the Embered Banana Cream Puff and Hazelnut Dacquoise with a round of espresso martinis. Both desserts were delectable and delightful, not too sweet, perfectly balanced, light and an absolute treat to end our meal with. While the food is the absolute stand out at Lion's Share, the ambiance, vibe and service were among the best Nashville has to offer! This was all capped off by Chef Robbie's personal touch. He made it point to swing by multiple times, chatting, sharing and expressing gratitude with each visit. His attitude and approach is certainly felt with the staff, as everyone we encountered from the hostesses, bartenders, runners and servers, all seemed genuinely happy and proud to be part of Lion's Share. It is worth noting that there is a dedicated pay lot in the rear of the restaurant. They will validate up to 2 hours for your visit, which is always a nice touch, especially in this area. Overall, Lion's Share is an absolutely phenomenal addition to the fine dining community in Nashville. An absolute experience that is worth the visit!

The lighting, furniture, and wallpaper all come together perfectly and give the space a really stylish but comfortable vibe. There's also plenty of room inside, which makes it easy to relax without feeling cramped. Now let's talk about the food... because wow. We started with the fried pickles and they were some of the best I've had. The dipping sauce wasn't your typical ranch (I forgot to ask what it was), but whatever magic they put in it worked it was absolutely delicious. Then we moved on to the burgers. We tried the Juicy Burger and it truly lives up to the name. Every single bite was worth it. I personally had the Jalapeño Burger and let me tell you... get ready for some heat. If you're not used to spicy food, this one might test your limits. But the flavor was incredible. You could really taste that the burger was grilled, and it gave it that perfect smoky, savory flavor that makes a great burger stand out. The drinks were also fantastic. They have a huge selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. I had one of their mezcal cocktails and it was bartender's kiss. I also tried a couple of their spirits and everything was on point. Another thing I really appreciated was the noise level. There's music playing, but it's not overwhelming, you can still actually have a conversation without yelling across the table. That's always a win. They also have a nice outdoor patio if you want to sit outside. We went during the week, so it was lively but comfortable. I can only imagine this place really gets going on the weekends. If you're in town and looking for amazing food, great drinks, and a cool atmosphere, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.

It is tucked in a neighborhood in the West End, and most people were surprised we found it or had heard of it as non-locals. It is a very popular spot. We arrived 20 minutes early and snagged the last parking spot in the lot behind the restaurant. Eric R. wanted to sit outside, so we were directed to wait at the bar until a table opened up. I got the cucumber sage yuzu spritz mocktail, and Eric R. got a local amber beer. Our table was ready within 10 or 15 minutes, so we migrated to it for dinner. Our server was helpful in providing recommendations. We started with three shareables: the mussels in lemongrass serrano beer broth and grilled bread, tempura long-stemmed artichokes on Calabrian chile mascarpone, and the lamb lollipops with pearled cous cous. I tasted the lamb, and it was heavenly, like melt-in-your-mouth tender but with a lot of caramelization. That was really Eric R.'s choice so I let him eat the majority of it. I really enjoyed the mussels and the artichokes! Everything was hot and delicious. I was sipping broth with a mussel shell when the bread ran out, and the host came out with more bread for us! It was so good. We asked to see a dessert menu. Eric R. had a tough choice between carrot cake and blondie with caramel ice cream, but was steered toward the blondie and did not regret it. I asked what the house made ice cream was for the day, and it was coconut matcha with a white chocolate shell topping. That sounded so perfect, and it was AMAZING. The evening was beautiful, the restaurant was lovely, the service was fantastic, and the food was delicious! That is the answer!

The goat cheese with grilled peaches was absolutely amazing--great flavor and easily the highlight of the meal. If that were all we had eaten, I would have given this restaurant 5 stars. Unfortunately, everything after that was disappointing. I ordered the filet, which was one of the most expensive entrees on the menu, but it lacked flavor. The carrots were bland, and the potatoes were hard and also lacking in flavor. It was especially disappointing because everything was plated so beautifully. The cocktails were okay--beautifully presented, but not particularly memorable. I may come back and try a different entree, but I'm not sure the food was impressive enough to make this a must-return. I did not try the other items my friend got.
