Ridiculously over priced, $33 for a double vodka red bull, the line to get in takes forever. Don't waste your time & money here.

I hate people who write bad reviews when they are treated poorly, but this feels more than appropriate. Not only did this place charge $20 for men to get in (despite being a below average bar in a remote location), but the other reviews that say this establishment is racist and only caters to white people is 10,000% true. I went to this bar hoping to have a great time with my friends who were visiting from out of town. Instead I was met with bigotry simply because my friends were Asian. They were kicked out of the bar for allegedly "slamming their finished drinks down too hard" and had their pictures taken upon getting the boot. I am not a person of color so I was not treated this way. I was asked to leave because I was with them, but never got my photo taken. If you are a person of color, do not give them your business as they are staffed by a bunch of racist individuals. If you are not a person of color, do not give them your business, as they are staffed by a bunch of racist individuals. Situations like this make me wish for a zero star feature. I came here with a group of friends for a birthday and they charged the two black males that were in our group $20 to get in (they said it was because they had on sneakers) I asked 3 white males who were inside who had on sneakers how much was the cover at the door and they all told me "there is no cover". Then when we were leaving they were trying to charge two more black males to get in! Absolutely sad! I would never recommend this place ever. Great environment! First floor gives you great music and an awesome food menu until 3 AM. If you feel like partying you can head upstairs to a top tier night club with amazing music and an unbelievable light show. Only reason giving three stars was because an accident w the drinks. This is the most worthless piece of garbage place I've ever experienced. They had us outside FREEZING saying they didn't care if we were military. They refused to let us in. Main floor is dead almost all the time. Upstairs is a bit more packed but lots of trashy girls are let in and it just looks like an underaged disaster. Bouncers didn't let my friend in for his shorts yet let a 200 lb girl in with holes in her white T-shirt. We celebrated my sister's bachelorette party. We got in right away and had a table under the DJ booth. They brought out a cool presentation with the bottles. My friend and I went to LiqrBox and one of the guys at the door told us we couldn't go upstairs because they were all booked up. We went over to another bouncer and asked him and he let us right up. Once we got up there it was far from booked up and we were the only two women of color in the room. If you want lack of diversity, stale atmosphere and ratio of 5 men to 1 women on a Saturday night, this is the place for you! read more

The bouncers, Ralph and Phil, are pigs (just like most men.) Despite waiting in line for over 30 minutes, all one has to do is be a female and walk right up to either bouncer in a minidress and you'll be let right in. As a gay male, I was trying to have a fun night out with my girls but LiqrBox made that nearly impossible. Others in line were making comments towards the bouncers as well and their only defense was "if you paid $5, $10, or $15K here a night you'd get to skip the line too." I'm sorry but if you saw the girls that were being let in over everyone else in line you would know they can't afford that lifestyle. After continuing to wait, one of my friends was finally let in and despite being with her, I still had to wait outside and could not follow her in. I've never felt more disrespected until I finally got inside and found out that since I was a male I would have to pay a $20 cover to go up to the dance floor, but yet the girls were free. Once again, I made it clear I was gay and was just trying to have a fun night with my girls but they could care less. I'm sorry but at least Boystown is accepting of all and either charges everyone a cover or let's everyone in without one. This place is atrocious. The staff is rude and the clientele is trashy. I was willing to try the cute juice boxes, but could not hold my tongue against the ridiculously sexist staff at the door. The minute I walked in, I was offended by the doormen and on my way out was corrected on which door to exit. When I confronted one of the men that gave me a hard time about not wanting to mandatory check my coat (fee included and BTW find it yourself downstairs) he told me the men did not have to check their coats because they had a "table". My experience was so bad that I literally made a Yelp account just to post this. Staff and manager are incredibly rude and disrespectful. Was hanging out having a decent time with friends on the top floor and then a worker elbows me forcefully in the back as he tries to walk past me. I tell him to chill and he gets security to then kick me out for no good reason. Other reviewers have also talked about how rude and aggressive these workers can be, as well as sexist and even racist in some cases (we were definitely racially profiled by the bouncers). Even besides this, the "juice box" has almost no alcohol in it and is extremely overpriced. So, staff sucks, and drinks suck too. Would highly recommend going somewhere else in Chicago - so many other places to experience quality nightlife. read more

Bartenders are rude. Saw one hit a girl in the head. After she asked him about it he called her "a retard". After she told him not to use that word it was not appropriate, he lunged at her.
